Quotes: ✕Monica felt the cool breeze on her face as she exited the castle doors. The fresh sent of buds growing on trees, flowers starting to bloom, new grass retaking the lawn after a long winter season. The birds chirps floated on the air, filling Monica's ears with sweet light notes. It was a glorious spring day!
Taking a deep breath, Monica took in all the grounds had to offer, it wasn't full of students, but more scattered. Fellow wizards and witches just looking to take advantage of the peace. Spring was Monica's favourite season, it never cease to amaze her how plants could be dormant for many months, some actually die, and yet once spring rolled around, life came back! It was always and is still the greatest magic she had ever witnessed.
After having her moment taking in all the sights and sounds, Monica remembered why she came out here in the first place. Her gaze scanned the grounds, looking at every student that lounged around. She was on the search for miss Dupont, a girl Monica had gotten to know a little in group settings, but wanted to get to know better. Monica wasn't a huge social butterfly, but she did enjoy getting to know people. Call it a favourite past time, sitting down with a person, asking them questions, getting to know about there life. Monica had learned long ago that you can learn a lot about a person, if you are willing to listen. And she had found great joy in just listening to people's story.
Today was no exception, she was looking forward to getting to know Beatrice more, perhaps even become good friends!
As Monica continued on her search, it didn't take long before she spotted Bea, with a smile and a skip to her step Monica made her way over to her walking partner, "Hey Bea! Lovely day for a bit of a stroll." Monica began, slinging her arm around the girl (if Bea lets her of course) "I am so glad you reached out! I love going on walks in the spring! Especially after being in class for so long. Don't get me wrong, I love charms... just how could one be inside when the world is like.... this?" She gestured to the surrounding world, before looking back at Bea, taking a deep breath before adding, "Shall we be off?" She smiled, letting Bea take the lead as to where they would take their little stroll.OOC

Mentioning:OOC Note: So sorry that this took me so incredibly long!Beatrice had been looking forward to this day a lot. It was the end of the week, a beautiful Friday and the weather was finally getting warm enough to be able to wander around without a jacket. Her last class of the day, Herbology, had just finished and Beatrice had decided to quickly go clean up a bit before meeting Monica. Surely the older Slytherin wouldn't have minded Bea's school robes but the dirt that had settled into the fabric from the lesson wasn't a good look. Once she had put on a less dirty, yet acceptable and comfortable outfit, Beatrice quickly hurried through the castle and out onto the grounds. Breathing in the fresh breeze that blew some strands of her bun loose, Bea started walking onto the grounds of Hogwarts. Everything around her seemed to beam with vibrant colors, bringing up an immediate feeling of peace and joy. Walking slowly over the grounds, Beatrice's eyes searched for the blue haired prefect that she was supposed to meet up with. Despite being in the same house and having met at group gatherings, Beatrice knew almost nothing about Monica, other than that she was very nice and fun.
It did not take long until Beatrice just decided to stop walking and wait for Monica there. It barely took a minute until Beatrice heard her name getting called. She turned around, returning Monica's smile brightly. Beatrice met Monica's crystal blue eyes as the older girl started slinging her arm around Beatrices shoulder. Suprisingly, she did not mind. „It really is!” she said in return to Monica's words and then listened to what she had to say other than that. Beatrice could only nod at what she was saying. Monica was right, school and staying inside and all was nice but once the sun started streaming through the big classroom windows and you could hear the birds chirping outside, there was no reason to stay inside. The world around them was so alive, blooming and fresh, why would anyone want to stay inside the cold castle walls? Especially her fellow housemates, who could only see the lake. Not even the surface, they were very much beneath it and the only interesting thing to see there were the creatures swimming by.
„I agree, once the sun is out and everything is as beautiful as this, I do not see a reason to stay inside.” she smiled, „And yes, we should be off. The day is just too beautiful to not explore nature.” Beatrice would start walking in hopes that Monica followed along. She wasn't sure where they were going but they could decide that while walking.

Quotes: ✕The two girls walked side by side, sun on their backs and the cast to one side. If Monica wasn't a prefect, she would almost be tempted to try taking the two of them to Hogsmead, but perhaps that was vastly unwise.... Maybe if she herself was old enough, but nope they both were shy of the required third year status. Besides the grounds were nice enough, plenty of walking space, and a lot of the outdoors of the castle remained unexplored territory to Monica.
After a while of walking, something like a few paces, Monica opted to take the chance to get to know Beatrice more! "Alright so I have to know.... and please be honest" The Slytherin began, "What was your reaction being sorted into house Slytherin?" Up until Monica enrolled in Hogwarts, the houses didn't really make all that much sense to her, but after her first year she started to understand, as well as see a fair amount of people feel they should have been in other houses, it was often an interesting question to pose, not to see if the person would cast shame on their own house, but did they have a different Idea of who they thought they were? Or some sort of deep meaning along those lines.
She continued, "And if it was unexpected, are there things that you feel you've learned about yourself being of House Slytherin?"OOC
ReducioSo sorry for all the delay, haha but finally got my reply out! If you want to notice the bird in the next thread by all means, but I am also good to have them rp convo a bit before finding the bird too.

Mentioning:OOC Note: sorry for the delay!Beatrice enjoyed the sun gracing them, a warm feeling swinging with it's rays. The trees casted shadows onto Hogwarts' grounds, for those who preferred to stay out of the sun and chirping birds filled the seemingly quiet nature around them. It was a nice day and the first year was happy to be able to do this with Monica. Even when there was silence, Beatrice did not feel uncomfortable at all with the older Slytherin. Every now and then, other Students would walk past them, either out for a walk themselves or up to some other kind of mischief. After a while of walking, Monica spoke again and her question was one that Beatrice had not heard in a while. It was not an uncommon thing to be asked but rather something that usually came from students in other houses. Beatrice thought about it, a small smile spreading across her lips before she answered. „In all honesty, I wasn't too surprised. It was expected of me to be sorted into Slytherin.” Beatrice paused, knowing there was more to it. „However, since starting to get to know the students of Slytherin, I have realized that I actually also fit in and it is not because my parents wanted me to be sorted here, so badly. Slytherin traits that are so often associated with something bad, are actually not bad at all. You can be cunning in more than one way and I do not see why ambition, determination and pride should be something bad. We are resourceful and smart students and I cannot say that I see evil in any of these children.” She trailed off for a second. „I know I fit into these traits and I know Slytherin has graduates that are presenting evil today or have presented evil in the past, but it is not their house that made them that way. Slytherin is an amazing house and I feel very at home in it and with the people that I have met as well as the friends I made.” Had Beatrice's answer been way too long for Monica's question? Yes. However, she now felt as though she had said everything that had been running through her mind and everything that she had thought about ever since being sorted into Slytherin. There was something great to all the houses and perhaps everyone should just lay their prejudice's about each other by side and try to talk to and understand each other. That sounded like a much nicer dynamic to Beatrice. „What about you?” Beatrice then asked, knowing everyone's experience was different and perhaps Monica had a different opinion.

Quotes: ✕The young snake was passionate, there was no denying that. Monica couldn't help but beam at Bea's answer, despite how long it may have been.
Monica could feel her feet dragging as they walked and talked, not because she was bored, just simply noticing the feeling of the grass as her foot parted the blades. Once Bea had finished her answer, she turned it around and asked for Monica's thoughts. The prefect had to take a moment to ponder.... She had very little knowledge of the houses before arriving to Hogwarts, only really learning about Slytherins from being one. Never the less she answered truthfully.
"I never really knew much before being sorted. I only really heard bits and pieces about each house on that first train ride here." She paused for a moment. "I mean you're right, it's rather dumb that our house is labled as such just because of a few bad seeds in the bunch. As for my experience.... Sure I have found it, a lot at times...." Her mind trailed off to some unforseen night that took place in the boys dorms. "But I have seen so much love and acceptance within this house too. I really don't think any house is truly the best, but I think that people can choose to embrace negativity or positivity. And I think the biggest thing I have learned being a Slytherin is that this is always more than one way of doing anything. Kinda forced me to think more outside of the box, which is really fun!" Monica left space for Bea to ask her own question, if she had another to ask.
Continuing to walk, they were passing some bushes that lined the path ahead. They were well kept, uniformly trimmed. It was a section of the grounds Monica loved walking through the most, felt like walking through a scene of a fairytale. The hedges ahead of them seemed just bellow waist hight, and Monica got a wonderful idea. She barely even gave Bea any notice before she shot off into a sprint towards the bush. The wind shot through her hair, tossing it behind her as she ran, she didn't look back to see if Bea was following, but then, as the hedge drew near, she took one final giant step before launching as high as she could into the air. Time seemed to freeze for a moment, Monica had the biggest smile on her face, just the rush from the run, and the spontanity of choosing to try jumping the bush, it was thrilling. But that moment didn't last long, before some branch seemed to have appeared out of no where, catching onto Monica's right foot, keeping her from landing her leap. She toppled forward and did a half summer-salt, half face plant into the dirt just behind the bush... her trousers ripped at the knee, and a small scrape was turning a vibrant red.
Monica stood up, picking dirt off of her face, and collecting herself. How embarrassing.OOC
ReducioI was thinking the bird could be in the bush Monica fails to jump over, but also I did leave that space for more convo before the jump occurs if you would like Bea to have her own question

Mentioning:OOC Note: I am so sorry for the long wait! I hope it's okay that Beatrice sees the bird XDBeatrice smiled brightly at Monica's own thoughts and words. She agreed with everything the older Slytherin said. Their house really did lead them to thinking outside the box and not seeing the evil in everything. The students of Slytherin were mostly just as good people as the ones coming from any of the other houses. Nodding to Monica's words, Beatrice stayed silent, satisfied with the quiet of an agreement. Her gaze drifted across the grounds, enjoying the sounds of the wind rustling through the leafs and faint water sounds from the lake.
When Beatrice was about to start another conversation, turning to face her housemate, she was surprised to see Monica suddenly taking off. Beatrice stopped in her tracks, her mouth slightly agape. The Slytherins eyebrows had furrowed and painted a confused expression on her face as she watched Monica's hair fly back in the girls sprint. It looked quite a lot like what Beatrice imagined book characters to run like, in a dramatic scene. Before she was sure what to do in a situation such as this, Beatrice sprinted after Monica. The bun that was holding her hair together would have to do a good job to stay put at this speed.
A smile spread across her lips as she ran after Monica, who definitely had had a headstart. „Mon, what are you-“ she called out but broke off as she saw Monica jumping. Beatrice's eyes widened and her legs fastened, now there were only a couple meters separating the two girls. Everything went way too fast and Beatrice could barely see the older Students foot getting caught, she only saw her crashing down. Which resulted into a small yelp coming from Beatrice lips and she came to a halt before the bushes. There were a lot of loose strands falling from her bun now.
„Oh gosh, Are you okay? Did you get hurt?“ Beatrice's breathing was fast as she hurried over the bush, catching sight of the maroon colored scrape beneath the ripped pants. She winced slightly at the sight, that must sting. „Do you need a tissue?“ Beatrice's expression could be described as concerned, searching for the clean silk tissue that she knew was somewhere in her pockets. There had been a couple birds flying up from somewhere behind the bushes and the trees when Monica had jumped, or well, fallen.
When she turned back to face the Prefect, Beatrice's gaze drifted past Monica and landed a few meters away between thick trees and bushes. Something was laying there, making minimal sounds. Beatrice squinted her eyes, trying to listen to whatever that was. „Looks like you're not the only one undermining these bushes, do you see that back there?“ The tiny brown and white bundle of feathers really was incredibly hard to see from here but there was definitely movement. „Do you think it's hurt?“ Beatrice was still holding out the tissue for Monica to press on her scraped knee but her eyes were no longer focused on anything other than that slightly moving creature.
