A fter dinner, when other students had returned to their common room, Avery waited for all of the culprits of the food fight to turn up.

He stood atop the raised steps where the professors would typically be seated, with his hands clasped behind his back as he conversed with one of the illusive house elves that were seldom spotted. Opeila was there with him, and he pulled his gaze from her towards the last arrival. The students that had remained after dinner, or arrived back from leaving the hall for short time as the hall was cleared; would come into the large and grand hall that seemed much larger now that it had no other pupils or dinner dishes on the large wooden house tables. Those that had remained the whole time had watched tonights feast magically vanish as it typically did at the end of meals, which probably left them with more questions than answers.

Avery had promised a night of gruelling hard work- no, worse; house elf work. Why would the dishes have been taken, would he be taking them somewhere?

Once they were all settled he beamed them a sweet smile; he was looking forward to this, and he wouldn’t hide that fact.

“Troublemakers. - Welcome to what is going to be an awfully long night for you all. - You’ll have plenty of time to reflect on whatever it was you thought you were doing earlier.” He said pointedly.

”Now let’s find out what you’ll be doing. - Droop, if you don’t mind!” He said cheerily, to a house elf. Anyone who knew Avery could probably suspect that such was probably one of the first times he’s ever been kind to a house elf. The smaller creature was aptly named, as half of his face was drooping down to one side for one reason or another. He raised his arm and clicked its fingers to release a magical snap of spell casting.

The room quickly changed…

“Whilst it may seem like the vast feasts we enjoy are created with magic, they aren’t. House Elves like Droop slave away preparing the meals,” Avery said, as the great tables for each of the four houses filled with dirty, smelly pots, pans, plates, dishes, ladles, cutlery, glasses, stirring apparatus and all sorts. If you could imagine the dishes after a three-to-five hundred person feast, it looked like that. It wasn’t just the dinner dishes, but the dishes used in the preparation of the meal also. “-- And then after that, they have to clean it all up. Well I’ve told them to take the night off, as we have some wonderful volunteers who will scrub all of them by hand to really get to know what it’s like to be a house elf!” He continued, as a grin formed on his face.

The Great Hall was situated directly above the castle kitchens, and the elves use their magic to translocate the food downstairs up, and the dishes back down. So the sudden burst of dishes was surely a surprise. Buckets of water, larger buckets of water, mops, scrub rags, bars of soap, polish and all sorts of cleaning ‘equipment’ also appeared.

“As there’s five of you, I’ve got an idea. Four of you can take a table, and the last of you can take the high table and the floors. - However you elect to do it, this entire hall will be cleaned by hand. When you’re done, we will escort you back to your common rooms; or your first lesson of the morning. - Better get stuck in if you hope to get any sleep…”

Opeila had assisted in the catching of the culprits and considering the disrespect Avery had been met before her involvement, she had offered to be there for the detention as well. It wasn't that she considered the first years able to cause extreme physical harm to the youngest prefect, but... she had witnessed first hand what a group of first years could encourage each other to do.

So... just in case...

Who had seen Opeila in the detentions she had given so far, did know that she knew how to put on a stern face. She did learn how to deal with backtalk and at this point often her age managed to do the trick when it came to being respected. Tonight however, she was almost cheerful in comparison.

The reason was quite simply the nature of the caught rulebreak. Who wouldn't be delighted to catch something as harmless as a foodfight, as opposed to kids sneaking out, not even knowing how to light their wands, or... you know, kids literally attempting to murder each other for once?

Again she made a point of staying in the background and letting Avery do the talking- she would intervene if it got necessary but not before.

When he finished explaining the task at hand, Opeila energetically jumped down the steps the two prefects were standing on and looked down the long tables. These kids would certainly be here for a while.

Did she think they would manage to clean all of these in a reasonable amount of time considering the offense? No, honestly, she didn't, and she wasn't planning on keeping a bunch of kids in the great hall all night for something so little. But they didn't have to know that, did they?

"Alright, you heard the man- Let's give the house-elves a lovely night off!"

Opeila had not come with empty hands, oh no. She had entered the hall with a bag, out of which she would now pull a magical radio. She would find a nice place in a corner for it and turn up the music until it could certainly be heard from the entrance.

"Let's get started!"

Qrow | #064107 | Qrow's Thoughts | #11a513

When Qrow arrived back to the hall at the end of dinner, having finally calmed themselves down enough to look their jailer in the eye, Avery Levert stood atop the raised steps where the professors would typically be seated, his hands clasped behind his back as he was chatting to a droopy-faced house elf. Opeila was there with him, and while Qrow didn’t know her very well or at all, they were happy for a less biassed and judgmental prefect to be there. Hopefully, she would be enough for Avery to hold his tongue when it came to his comments on blood.

Avery had promised a night of gruelling work; however, as the redhead looked around the great hall, they couldn’t help but notice how empty it was. He had mentioned cleaning. Would they be cleaning the room itself? Or would he be taking them all to the kitchens?
The child wasn’t even aware if students were permitted to go into the kitchens, but then again, this was a detention; perhaps the rules changed then?

The prefect beamed them a sweet smile—or rather, that's what Qrow assumed he was doing. It was less sweet and more malicious; clearly, he was looking forward to this, and he wasn’t hiding it well. Though it was doubtful that he was trying to hide it at all,

"Troublemakers. - Welcome to what is going to be an awfully long night for you all. You’ll have plenty of time to reflect on whatever it was you thought you were doing earlier." He said pointedly.

"Now let’s find out what you’ll be doing. Droop, if you don’t mind!" He said cheerily to the house elf. Not even knowing the boy for a full day, Qrow Beithir couldn’t help but think that it was incredibly doubtful that Avery was ever this polite to house elves; he was a pureblood after all, and whilst the Beithir family had their own house elf that was very loved, they had seen firsthand the mistreatment towards the poor creatures.

Ironically enough, the small creature was named after its drooping face, and despite its current aid in their punishment, the first year knew it was only doing what it was told. Besides, it was rather cute, and Qrow really couldn’t stay mad, even as he raised his arm and clicked its fingers, causing the room to quickly change.

"While it may seem like the vast feasts we enjoy are created with magic, they aren't. House elves like Droop slave away preparing the meals," Avery said, as the great tables for each of the four houses filled with a variety of dirty dishes that counted somewhere in the 300 to 400 range.
"And then after that, they have to clean it all up. Well, I’ve told them to take the night off, as we have some wonderful volunteers who will scrub all of them by hand to really get to know what it’s like to be a house elf!" He continued as a grin formed on his face.

Qrow had been told how the sudden appearance of food had worked, having asked a teacher out of curiosity in the first week. The Great Hall was situated directly above the castle kitchens, and the elves used their magic to translocate the food downstairs up, and then at the end of meals, the dishes back down.
Buckets of water, larger buckets of water, mops, scrub rags, bars of soap, polish, and all sorts of cleaning "equipment" also appeared.
Honestly, if Avery had meant this to be a punishment, then he clearly needed to try harder; if anything, Qrow rather enjoyed cleaning, and after how quickly their temper had fired up during their first encounter with the prefect, this was exactly the type of thing that they needed to calm down.
Their parents hadn’t wanted them to become lazy, and so they often had them help with housework, even having a list of everyday chores despite the family having their own house elf. The family had often made a game out of it, or sometimes a competition to see who could get their chores done first, and while the redhead wouldn’t suggest such things out loud in front of the prefects in fear that they thought the punishment wasn’t teaching them anything, it wouldn’t stop them from thinking of it as a competition themselves.

"As there are five of you, I’ve got an idea. Four of you can take a table, and the last of you can take the high table and the floors. However you elect to do it, this entire hall will be cleaned by hand. When you’re done, we will escort you back to your common rooms or your first lesson of the morning. Better get stuck in if you hope to get any sleep."

Jokes on him, Qrow was an insomniac and was very used to functioning on little to no sleep; with a threat like that, wasn’t he worried that he would get no sleep? With how grouchy he was earlier, he could probably do with a good nap.

As he finally finished talking—clearly he liked the sound of his own voice—the Opeila spoke up,
"Alright, you heard the man- Let's give the house-elves a lovely night off!"

Opeila had not come empty handed. She had with her a bag, and when she pulled out a magic radio, Qrow desperately fought the urge to get excited, cooling their expression with feigned indifference.

"Let's get started!"

With the introduction to the night over, the redhead spoke up, butting in with their choice before anyone else could.

"Dibs on the high table and floors!"

I arrived back but found myself not alone. I was rather pissed to find I was cleaning again, also annoyed to actually have the detention in the first bloody place. Git, I thought in contempt, listening to him talk. When I saw the plates my eyes went wide as saucers. I clenched my jaw, begging myself not to say anything.

Yeah — well that’s what they’re supposed to do!” I couldn’t help but say, that’s what house elves are there for. Chores. Stuff so we don’t gotta do it. I nearly gagged at the look of all the dirty plates and the grin, I just know this is going to be awful. Especially if I touch any of the gunk. I shoved my hands in my pocket to avoid wringing them together. I grimaced as he said basically called us House Elves for the night. “Lovely,” I grumbled.

He then explained how we will sort it out, logically I knew we were never going to get this sorted before a reasonable time and we did have to sleep as the majority of us are around 12, he couldn’t keep us awake all night. Yet, I wouldn’t put it past him to keep us until the last second.

Bloody torture this is. All for throwing a few ‘tato’s,” I muttered angrily to myself, “Bagsy the Slytherin table; at least I can some sort of pride by cleaning my own house. And the best one,” I announced, walking over to it and starting by the high table so that I can work my way down.

I had insults at the tip of my tongue to attack Avery with. Bloody backstabber. I tell you, it will be a while until me and him are ever on the same page again — if ever. Lad was a mate and then he goes and does this — addressing me by my last name as well! Well, Leveret, two can play at that game you tosser.

I hadn’t even realised Opeila was in here really, too busy stewing over having been knocked down in society by given a job fit for house elves and butlers. I mean, I am a Mornstern. We don’t cook, we don’t clean.

‘Least, I certainly haven’t! I think I still have no end of socks stashed down the side of my bed at home. Maybe even here! I stared at the plates, if this was one of them muggle cartoons left whatever the freaks call them then I think I would be tearing up right about now!

Justice was something Nora held in high regard, she'd always had. It boiled her blood to see any crime go unnoticed, but her definition of a 'crime' varied quite a bit from the norm. There were only two scenarios where she would actually consider something wrong not to punish: a) if the action harmed someone or b) if the action was previously punished. The first one seems give, but the second one was more particular to Nora. She hated whenever she got in trouble for something that someone else had also done, but gotten away with. Another prerequisite was that they actually committed the crime.

At least in real life, when you broke real laws, there could always be a court case. Innocent until proven guilty, right? Fair and square. This, however, didn't seem fair at all. Nora didn't get a lawyer, her judge was a bigoted highschooler, and the trial was non existent. She wasn't even given the opportunity to make a statement before she was sentenced. Completely unreasonably, she might add! Even the ones who had participated in the fight shouldn't be getting a punishment this bad for simply throwing some food. Back at her old school, this kind of rule breaking could happen and no one would even blink an eye.

As her fellow criminals settled in, their judge spoke. “Troublemakers. - Welcome to what is going to be an awfully long night for you all. - You’ll have plenty of time to reflect on whatever it was you thought you were doing earlier,” he said pointedly, and Nora held back the urge to roll her eyes. What she thought she was doing was enjoying her dinner, but apparently she was also subconsciously throwing food at people. And without even knowing it! Who knew that she had superpowers? Certainly not her!

”Now let’s find out what you’ll be doing. - Droop, if you don’t mind!” the prefect said cheerfully. Oh boy, Nora thought, he must really be enoying our detention if he isn't being his usual sourpuss self. “Whilst it may seem like the vast feasts we enjoy are created with magic, they aren’t. House Elves like Droop slave away preparing the meals,” Like he really cared, that blood purist. “-- And then after that, they have to clean it all up. Well I’ve told them to take the night off, as we have some wonderful volunteers who will scrub all of them by hand to really get to know what it’s like to be a house elf!”

Oh, look at him grin. That prick. If it were up to her, Nora would be having him scrubbing the toilets with his toothbrush. No, that wasn't cruel enough. What would really bug him? Having him dress in Hufflepuff robes? She'd heard how he insulted the house, but it still felt too easy. Hmm, she'd have to think on it. She certainly was going to have a lot of time to do so, she noted, as piles upon piles of muggle cleaning supplies appeared. There were buckets of water, rags, sponges and even polish available for them to use. It was a bit excessive.

“As there’s five of you, I’ve got an idea. Four of you can take a table, and the last of you can take the high table and the floors. - However you elect to do it, this entire hall will be cleaned by hand. When you’re done, we will escort you back to your common rooms; or your first lesson of the morning. - Better get stuck in if you hope to get any sleep…” the prefect finished, and Nora couldn't help comparing him to a rat in her mind. He certainly acted like one.

"Alright, you heard the man- Let's give the house-elves a lovely night off!" called Opeila, and Nora immediately brightened when she saw what the older prefect was carrying. It was a bag, and from out of it she pulled a radio. It was probably magic, for unlike other devices at Hogwarts, it worked just fine when the prefect turned it on. After she had it set up, she called out again, "Let's get started!"

Qrow claimed the high table and floors, while the Slytherin boy took over his house table soon after. That left Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Gryffindor for Nora to choose from. A second of deliberation passed, but she chose the second, hoping that the 'smart' house would turn out to be less messy. As she approached it, Nora realised she was out of luck. All the tables were disasters, no matter how you looked at it, and they would all take ages to clean. Exactly how much trouble would I get in, Nora thought darkly, if I strung a prefect onto a flagpole?

Qrow | #064107 | Qrow's Thoughts | #11a513
As much as the redhead enjoyed cleaning, they were eternally grateful that they had the foresight to choose the teachers table; whilst it was no cleaner than any of the four house tables, there were certainly fewer dishes on it, and the first year had no qualms in cleaning the floors too.

Honestly, as much as they had respected Mornstern earlier, the feeling was waning rapidly at his comments about the house elves.
“Yeah, well, that’s what they’re supposed to do!” He had said, shoving his hands in his pockets and grimacing before grumbling,
“Lovely, bloody torture this is. All for throwing a few ‘tato’s,” came his angry muttering,
“Bagsy the Slytherin table; at least I can show some sort of pride by cleaning my own house. And the best one.”
Honestly, his own pride was probably going to be his downfall. Above all else, the Slytherin table was probably the worst in terms of mess, and it was the main reason Qrow had opted against choosing it. House pride be damned, there was absolutely no way they were scraping mashed potatoes off the table.

Nora, bless her heart, had also ended up in detention, opting to choose the Ravenclaw table, likely in hope that a house full of intellectually gifted individuals would be cleaner than the rest. Alas, the redhead could see from their spot on the raised platform that this was sadly not the case, though they were still unsure under what circumstances she had even ended up here. They hadn't actually seen the girl throw anything, and she had a far too sweet sort of disposition to have been involved in the food fight, let alone do anything worthy of getting into trouble. The metamorphmagus settled their resolve to finish their side of things quickly and help her out as soon as they were finished. She had been so sweet during the spring ball, regardless of all the drama that had unfolded around her at the time, and Qrow had grown quite fond of her.

Despite finding the activity to be rather relaxing and the general mundane monotony of cleaning oddly soothing, they hated the feeling of soggy food while washing dishes. They were rather grateful for their earlier fit of laughter, which made it so they had to return to their dorm room, as well as for Avery's stupidity in telling them exactly what their 'punishment' would be.

Not only had they had the time to change out of their school robes, opting for something much more comfortable: a pair of sweatpants and a black and white jumper that was a little too big and hung off their shoulders slightly, but they had also had the opportunity to grab their gloves that they often wore whilst cleaning their room.

As the music from the radio began playing, Qrow couldn't help but think, "Thank the fucking gods for Opeila Winters."
Without her, not only would Qrow be stuck in their own head from the silence, as no doubt Avery was too much of a tosser to allow music otherwise, but it was also incredibly doubtful that they would have been able to control themselves if Avery Leveret was to say anything remotely distasteful.
Honestly, the image of them knocking out his teeth had become increasingly pleasant when he had the gall to smile at them all when explaining their punishment. What a pretentious prick.

The Slytherin hummed along to the music, their sleeves rolled up past their elbows as they swayed and twirled gracefully, working their way through the dishes on the table with practised speed, scrubbing and rinsing, then drying and polishing each dish.

As much as this was a punishment for the others, like hell was Qrow Beithir going to let the pain in the ass that was Avery Leveret get to them.

Sometimes, Nora thought, each house could be likened to their respective animal quite literately. When the Gryffindors ruffled their mane with indignation, when the Hufflepuffs burrowed into a mount of pillows, when the Slytherins hissed their secrets. This was one of those times, and what was the negative trait that are most birds known for? Being messy.

At least I have music, Nora thought as she started on her task. Music was one of her favourite things (though she didn't play). It energized her, activated her, and made any unpleasant task a thousand times more enjoyable. Her father scorned her for this, claiming that it was only a crutch for her. Her dad was like that, and often said that if she ever needed anything that badly, something was wrong with her. Of course, this didn't come up when he had his own headphones on, listening to his own music. "But no," he'd say, "That's different." It always was. Why look at your own problems when you can just blame your kid?

Nora had missed her headphones while she'd been at Hogwarts, especially when she was working. She'd gotten into the habit of humming her favourite song-- though she had to close her curtains in order not annoy her dorm mate-- as well as writing down her favourite songs from memory. This was hard, but her notebook had already started to fill up with Taylor Swift, Disney songs and even a few ones from Hogwarts. She didn't recognize the music Opeila was playing (most likely wizarding, her dad never let her listen to that type), but it wasn't bad and soon, Nora even found herself enjoying the work.

Except for the gross parts (food on the ground, smashed food and dirty food were all just disgusting), the mess wasn't as bad as she'd initially thought. Sure, there was a lot of it, like a lot of it, it wasn't much worse than the stuff she'd have to do at summer camps. When she was younger, she'd gone to a lot of muggle ones, including a two-week one at the start. Each cabin was on clean up duty 5 times each week, and their dining 'hall' might have been about half the size as this one. Nevertheless, it wasn't unfamiliar work, and she settled into the pace of it pretty quickly. The only breaks she took were to glare daggers at the prefect (the mean one, not the music one), and to get a new pail of water.

Her fellow convicts seemed to be also doing fine, and she noticed that Qrow was making quick work of their table. They must have experience, for their tools almost seemed like an extension of themselves. Nora kind of envied this, as her table seemed to be getting dirtier and dirtier the more she worked on it, despite her experience. As she worked, humming, she also began to creatively think of more ways that she would punish the boy prefect, if she ever had the opportunity. She wondered if Qrow felt the same way, however they didn't have as much reason to despise the prefect. They had actually committed their crime, unlike Nora. Nevertheless, she reasoned that he was being unfair to them all. For someone who held the rules in such high regard, he was making a mockery of them.

But judge does as judge sees fit-- especially if they're an idiot.

───── Lilliana reentered the Great Hall, surveying the place with distaste. She wished that they didn’t have to be in the Great Hall for this, she was still peeved at what had happened. Though her anger had lessened, she was still bitter. The first year gave a curt nod to Nora and shot a glare at Qrow and Lucian. They were the reason she was stuck here, after all. Qrow had admitted to starting it, and Lucian had been the one to throw some mushed-up grapes at her. She had better things to do with her time, than this.

Her gaze settled on Avery, her eyes narrowing slightly. Lilliana shouldn’t be here! Sure, Qrow had started the whole debacle, and Lucian had made the thing a whole lot bigger than it needed to have been -- but, she was barely involved! Well, up until the point where she was pelted with the grapes -- But that wasn’t her fault, right? Standing noticeably behind Avery, was Opelia, the older prefect. Two prefects? Lilliana wondered. They didn’t think we’d start another food fight, did they? Lilliana thought to herself, a small smirk forming.

Avery had given them an innocent smile, which Lilliana returned with a scowl of her own. It wasn’t long until he launched into a speech, “Troublemakers. Lilliana snorted at that, and settled into a comfortable stance, yawning dramatically, “- Welcome to what is going to be an awfully long night for you all. Lilliana playfully raised her eyebrows at the prefect’s remark, “- You’ll have plenty of time to reflect on whatever it was you thought you were doing earlier.” Chances of her reflecting were low. Her actions were justified... Right?

"Now let’s find out what you’ll be doing. Droop, if you don’t mind!" Avery had said to a House Elf, in a cheery demeanor, which threw Lilliana off. She didn’t know Avery all that well, she had met them once at Cai’s duel, but it was evident that they weren’t the type of person to be kind and sincere around a House Elf, only aggravating her more. How was this House Elf involved in any of this, anyway? Lilliana perceived, starting into the prefect, as if trying to find out the answer. Something was beginning to click in her head, like pieces of a puzzle forming.

“Whilst it may seem like the vast feasts we enjoy are created with magic, they aren’t. House Elves like Droop slave away preparing the meals,” Avery lectured them. And rightfully so. They were called House Elves for a reason, that was why they existed in the first place. Where was he even going with this? Lilliana couldn’t help but wonder. Despite her curiosity, she set a dull, bored expression on her face.

“-- And then after that, they have to clean it all up. Right. As they should. Lilliana raised her eyebrows, “Well I’ve told them to take the night off, as we have some wonderful volunteers who will scrub all of them by hand to really get to know what it’s like to be a house elf!” A cheeky grin slid on his face as he announced the punishment. Wait a second. Lilliana had to rewind the conversation to fathom what he was saying. Ew. No. Had she really been demoted to a house elf?

“You want us to be house elves?” Lilliana said. The words felt odd on her tongue, and she wrinkled her nose, not bothering to hide her repulsion. Get to know what it’s like to be a house elf. He was accusing them of not caring about house elves -- as if he gave a shit! “Bloody hypocrite,” She said under her breath. This would be the most tedious thing ever.

But, turns out, Opelia came prepared, "Alright, you heard the man- Let's give the house-elves a lovely night off!" Lilliana was baffled as she pulled out a magic radio. The look of tumultuousness quickly turned into awe as she set it up in the corner, turning the music up. Lilliana smiled, cooking her head towards Avery, in an attempt to catch his expression. It appeared Avery was aiming for a night of dull clean up, but, it didn’t seem Opelia would let that happen. Maybe it wouldn’t be complete torture.

Qrow had immediately called dibs on the high tables and floors (rather enthusiastically, in Lilliana’s opinion). Their eagerness surprised Lilliana. High tables and floors felt like a lot of work, why would they even choose that? Lucian then announced he would be doing the Slytherin table. “You know that table’s the messiest, right?” Lilliana remarked, “Especially after you started chucking food at everyone,” She pointed out, raising her eyebrows. Nora had some sense at least, choosing the Ravenclaw’s table. But, that left her with the less than optimal options. She sighed, “I’ll do Gryffindorks, then,” Lilliana announced, rolling her eyes, and leaving André with the Hufflepuff one.

Yes, I know. I’m not stupid,” I replied to Lilliana after her comment “Gonna be honest, not sure it matters love. No way on this earth we are cleaning it all up,” I said, not even looking at them. I smiled a little as I heard the music. Had no clue what the bloody song was but it was darn good!

You sound pretty chipper,” I said to Qrow as they hummed away. “All this is a load tosh. All it does is reinforce cleaning as a punishment, as a bad thing, thus making us less likely to do it in the future off our own backs,” I rattled on, getting my first plate and scrubbing it, shuddering at the feel of the sponge on my finger tips. Ahhh I thought with a grimace.

I remembered what I heard from Lilliana when Avery mentioned the house elves. So she must not like him either, I thought. He wasn’t exactly becoming popular amongst his year mates! Merlin, I had to get my contempt out of my head for now. I can go back to hating Leveret after this detention.

So… how’s everyone feeling about the fact we will be second years soon?” I asked the room. Hey, it isn’t like he said do it in silence! “We get to torment little bitty firsties!” I added, oh that will be so fun. Oh yes, you can do this and no you won’t get into trouble — wink wink. It really is nice to have the power for once, to truly feel like you can conquer the world. Well… maybe that was a little bit of an exaggeration.

I looked at Qrow. “What’s your name again?” I asked them. The only thing I really knew about them was they go by ‘they/them’, they’re a snake and the can pull the waterworks —- not that it worked in this scenario. Unlucky. Getting another dish I nearly gagged at the look of it before hesitantly picking it up again and washing it. I got he solve and scruples a price of the table hadn’t been so lucky as to escape the harsh spills of gravy and the sorts.

This time, I looked at Lilliana; I’ve met her a couple times to be honest. There was last dinner and spin the bottle at least. Oh and the slumber party that Monica hosted! “Lilliana!” I called to the pretty girl, speaking to her while scrubbing particularly hard. “You got any siblings?” I asked her.

I was bored with a capital B and wanted to make idle chit-chat. Bite me.

He really was not looking forward to what the detention might be. He didn't want to go, at all. As from what little he had seen of Avery it couldn't have been very fun. He had debated getting up and leaving with his fellow Hufflepuff's, but he stayed. Defeated the boy did as instructed and went over to stand in front of the prefects as if on a reality baking show. Ready for the challenge. André watched as Avery instructed the house elf, who had a quiet fitting name, to summon up all to the dishes for dinner. He stared jaw dropped at the Slytherin. He expected us to clean all of it? By hand? No magic? Could this even be a detention anymore? He would rather face a dementor with nothing more then a book.

Thankfully, Opeila had brought some music. So they didn't have to do this in reached silence. The one who had started the fight called whay would be the worst of it. Qrow? Was it? It didn't matter to much as they had took one for the team, which he really was thankful for. Then Lucien called the Slytherin table, followed by Nora taking Ravenclaw, the house of his sister. And Lilliana took Gryffindor, or as she said gryffindorks. "guess that leaves me hufflepuff then." he said, really setting it in. Grabbing some of the cleaning equipment he hauled it over to the side of the table closet to the adults table.

If that plates would extremely messy he would have a massive bone to pick with his house. He wanted to get at least some sleep before his classes the next day. "All this for a bit of peas and carrots... Crazy perfect. Cant have a but of fun.." he muttered in French, with hopes no one could really understand him. After a bit he heard someone ask how they felt about graduation. "I'm looking forward to it! If things go well I may finally become a Duellist." he said with a smile. Really, he really wanted it. More then anything. He let out a sigh before getting back to the plate. Some sort of sauce covered the bloody thing. Gross. Alas he keep on scrubbing, how much sauce did you need for one meal? Like come on. It at least could have been in one spot... But nope. All over the plate. Way to go hufflepuff...
