Sometimes things would just turn out to be needlessly chaotic. As Ruby summoned a cloud of lightning over the heads of Ravenclaw, Dmitri send a rather nasty curse toward Delilah, who had already been attempting to struggle with the half successful petrefication. Truly it was somewhat more of a curse than the normal effect and Alan wasn't allowed to step in right now. He shook his head as he focused on the curse the boy had cast and winced as he saw the face of the girl swell up painfully around the eyes, constricting the vision even more. Delilah would play it very safe instead and healing spell came to the eagles aid, allowing the movement to return to their bodies. Perhaps this hasn't been too awful after all. Which after all seemed necessary because neither she nor Aida had been successful in their struggles against the spell.

Dmitri nodded silently as he witnessed the outcome of their handiwork. All in all, everything went exactly as they expected it to—even including the way the Ravenclaws fell back into their defensive healing tactics.

He smirked.

It doesn't stop here. There's more where that came from, he thought to himself as he readied his wand.

Dmitri was playing for the final round, and he liked making his opponents scramble to deal with it.

Aida HATED the bodybind curse. It was literally the worst. People really didn’t take it easy on the claustrophobe, knowingly or not. There were so many other spells that could have been used, and they just had to go with the most terrifying one. The bodybind curse was proof that at any moment, the world could all collapse around Aida and entrap them, even inescapably. Perhaps that little shock of fright at the beginning of the round had been a warning that this would happen. At least when it was with that match with elf-ears, on some level Aida knew the boy could be trusted, which was better than nothing even if Evelynn was an unknown entity. By contrast, Aida only had reasons to dislike how this duel was going thus far.

Ruby watched as she and Dmitri had successful spells once more, with Dmitri’s providing an instant attack on Delilah while hers created a threat looming over the Ravenclaws. They would soon have to decide whether to deal with it now or risk potential lightning strikes. Delilah healed her team, removing the petrification. Still, the Slytherins hadn’t even been touched by a spell so far, and every second that this was drawn out resembled predators playing with their prey. And this was only the beginning.

Del couldn't help but feel like the slytherins weren't taking the ravenclaws seriously. The way they duelled made it seem like a game and not a tournament that Dwl took very much to heart. She was going to take it incredibly seriously, even if nobody else would alongside her. Although she knew Aida had her back.

Alan had to narrow his eyes just slightly, when he heard some of the incantations, especially one of a fellow sixth year. As Delilah cast a spell targeted at the storm clouds above their head and sent it back to the team of Slytherin's who had summoned it, Aida took that time to cast a beautifully executed Cantis that would have made the viper sing. Dmitri however would have none of that and through some intuition that could have made a Seer jealous, stepped out of harms way. Neither Ruby or Dmitri were playing around, casting their spells in a way that they aimed for both of the eagles. However Delilah did not seem to be as skilled in evasiveness, especially not with the painful curse still causing her eyes to hurt and sight to blur, whereas Aida had no trouble evading. So it came that Delilah could feel her body lock as jets of wind caused her to stagger and she was done for now. What a round...

Dmitri let out a loud cackle as not only did his Petrificus hit the older Ravenclaw straight in the chest, but he was also able to easily sidestep the younger one's attempt at attacking him.

"Is it just me, or are they just not hitting any of us?" He'd stage-whisper towards Ruby, eyes full of mirth.

A yawn would escape his mouth as he adjusted his stance. "I guess we can show them a thing or two about what a proper spell should look like..."

The duel continued to play out in favor of the Slytherins, with both of their spells squarely hitting Delilah and Dmitri dodging the younger Ravenclaw’s spell incredibly quickly. The boy commented on how the Ravenclaws hadn’t hit the Slytherins once this duel, and Ruby laughed. “Right? It’s fun. It’s almost like we’re untouchable.” Her words were drawn out slightly, spoken with a lazy drawl. She flicked a nonexistent piece of lint off her clothes, a smirk dancing on her lips. The duel so far was making a mockery of the Ravenclaws, even if the Slytherins’ words hadn’t been enough.

Dmitri said something about showing them what a proper spell should look like and Ruby smiled in a manner that made it clear she was just continuing to mock the Ravenclaws. “Well, it seems we already are. Shame we’re not up against better opponents.” A low blow, potentially, considering they were in the senior league and both of the Ravenclaws were within a year of Ruby. They were likely accomplished duellists in their own regard, but when faced with Dmitri and Ruby, they were surely bound to fail. Just like everyone that came before them.

As the familiar flare of another petrification spell went off, claustrophobic Aida was keen on not having to endure it again and dodged far out of the way. Yet, with the discomfort of almost being hit with it again, Aida’s own aim shook and fired their own spell uselessly into the ground. Delilah was less fortunate, however, even though she managed to blow back the foul weather to the Slytherins before it was too late.

It was almost a good thing Delilah was petrified, because if she hadn't have been at that moment she would have slung towards the slytherins any manner of colourful language in response to their comments. They were really making her mad, her feelings towards Ruby went from respect as a fellow duellist to as low as Dmitri. Just an annoying entitled child with good luck. She had spent over a year wanting a rematch against these two and now she was just pissed off and stuck.
