“I will have you know, my father is a respected gentleman. He is also very good with my mother,” I replied in a tight lipped tone, “I, however, am amazing with the women,” I winked at her and laughed, flicking a bunch of peas at her. My foul mood had diminished now I got payback (no matter how little) on Ava, and the idea of a food fight was sending me do-lally. I was expecting her to do something, anything, but instead she turned back to her plate after cussing me out. “Wuss,” I muttered, telling her to sit with the Dorks. That’s when I looked over and saw @Raizel Voltrouz. I waved at her before launching a roast potato her way, I didn’t know where it landed!
I looked at the rest of the table, noting that Lilliana was here! I remember her from spin the bottle. She is very pretty. “Hey, Lilliana!” I called, reading a handful of grapes that had smushed. “Surprise!” and launched them at her. There was another girl. Uh, Nora I think. I decided she would get the mint sauce. I loaded it on a spoon and sent it flying her way.
Hmm… who else? I shrugged. “FOOD FIGHT!” I hollered, throwing a handful of veggies over to the Gryffindorks.

When Qrow unintentionally launched the carrots at Lucian, they hadn’t expected it to escalate this quickly.

Who were they kidding? This is exactly what they were expecting...
At some point, Nora had come into the hall and sat close by Qrow's abandoned plate, and not long after she sat down, Qrow came out from under the table and sat back in their seat, making up some excuse about them dropping their spoon, and that was the reason they had ended up under the table.
Just as the redhead got comfy—or as comfy as you could get on the benches—a flying dollop of mint sauce splattered across both Nora De Carre and themselves.
At first, Qrow was angry, their pupils becoming angry snake-like slits; then they saw that the person who threw it was none other than Lucian Mornstern—well, their own stupidity had started this; the mint sauce was simply karma—and all of their anger dissipated only to be replaced by an unbridled urge for chaos. Their eyes narrowed, and their mouth turned into a mischievous smirk.
In one swift movement, they picked up two handfuls of mashed potatoes and launched one back towards Lucian and another towards the Gryffindor table.
The Slytherin laughed, basking in the accidental chaos—this was totally worth it!

┏ ┓----- T he day had been gruelling enough, History of Magic in the morning, followed by Transfiguration. There was nothing more draining than both of those classes on the same day, or so he thought.
Avery was rather looking forward to wolfing down a plate of something and just heading to his dorm room to sleep or lounge around, and so he made his way to the great hall; pushing aside the great doors once his long legs had landed him before them. The smell was always the best part about dinner; everything seemed to smell much nicer than it actually was. The very act of eating was actually quite detestable to him, who was raised with the pomp and pageantry that was aristocratic etiquette, but there was one thing more detestable to him; people.
The open doors framed the tall and pale boy; looking a picture of propriety before his typically dark expression lit up with life as he saw what was unfolding within.
Even as a fire blazed in his eyes, they seemed cold and deadly. His careful poise and grace spoke of his status and intent, if the gleaming prefect badge on his breast wasn’t threat enough. Avery would walk halfway through the hall before announcing his presence, with the tables astride him like a runway; a viper coiling to strike.
“Enough!” He yelled, commanding attention in the room; something he himself was uncomfortable with but duty called. It felt odd, being a first year like those he now lectured. He was always certain that he was above most anyway, but he didn’t think he shared school-space with baboons. His dark ebony eyes shifted across various, food covered faces; having been able to make out troublemakers from a distance.
“What were you thinking?” He addressed Lucian with his eyes first, before they shifted to Ava, Qrow, Andre and finally Maeve, who to him seemed to have some kind of involvement. He spoke again before Lucian could get a word in, eager to make the boy hurt.
“You act beneath your blood. - I could expect it of a Hufflepuff but the rest of you are beneath your house. All of you better explain yourselves, or you’ll all be giving the House Elves a night off, doing the dinner dishes and cleaning this entire room.” He said to them, waiting for the first of them to speak up. His threat was credible, he could indeed do that; but he would be lying if he said he didn’t enjoy the idea of putting other Purebloods beneath House Elves. - They may have been one participant from the Hufflepuff table, but most of the offenders were of his own house; a trend that seemed to be increasingly harsh on their collected reputation. For that they would pay, surely.
┗ ┛
Congratulations, you have been caught being naughty by a prefect (a roll based outcome). - You the player are not in any kind of trouble, this is something purely related to the narrative of your characters. You all have a chance to explain yourselves In Character before Avery decides to hand out detention. You will most likely be getting detention, but try your luck anyway.

Avery Leveret.
Qrow frowned, fairly certain they were taller than him. Probably older than him too.
He was a fellow pureblood, and the redhead faintly remembered being told about the Leveret family being full of dark wizards, something that generally did not bode well after the recent manipulation of their grandmother and her own ideologies.
"What were you thinking?" He addressed Lucian with his eyes first, before they shifted to Ava, Qrow, Andre, and finally Maeve, who to him seemed to have some kind of involvement. He spoke again before Lucian could get a word in, clearly eager to make the boy hurt.
Qrow’s frown deepened.
"You act beneath your blood." I could expect it from a Hufflepuff, but the rest of you are beneath your house. All of you better explain yourselves, or you’ll all be giving the House Elves a night off, doing the dinner dishes, and cleaning this entire room."
For someone who had been trying to piss off Lucian, he hadn’t half succeeded in pissing off Qrow either.
They had always had a fiery temper, and, as their eyes and hair shifted to a shade of blood red, they couldn't help but think, "It’s not as if I'm getting out of this detention anyway."
"You act beneath your blood." They mimicked angrily.
"The hell that supposed to mean, you pompous prick! For your information, I started it—by accident, mind you! I was joking around and let go of my spoon of carrots too fast, and things escalated from there. And what’s your problem with Hufflepuffs? Prefect or not, for a fellow first-year, you sure have a lot of nerve. Clearly nobody has informed you that your own arse can’t be used as a hat, as that's the only reason I can supply for your head being so far up it!"
They shouldn't be talking to a prefect like this, but there was something so utterly vile about him that the metamorphmagus thought any punishment entirely worth it.

So many Slytherins were getting involved! Including Lilliana, the girl he rode on the train with. "Oh! Hey Lilliana!" he smiled. He let out a laugh when the angry bow tossed a bunch of grapes at her. Sadly he was beaten at the chance to scream food fight, be oh well. You win some you lose some. And he was not losing the fight. All was fun, he was launching gravy coated vegetables at the Slytherin table, and all was good!
Pretty soon he froze at the sound of the perfect. "Ah damn." He muttered under his breath. Wait. Did he just insult his house to his face? Oh. My. God. Expecting it of a hufflepuff? But not his own house? Weren't perfects ment to be unbiased? He really didn't want detention... And it was only a few veggies, would he by it? Maybe?? The girl who started it seemed nice! She was standing up for the baggers!
"Yeah! What's it issue with us Hufflepuff's? I will let you know, that it was only a few vegetables that I tossed." he made a point the let the yellow of his robes shine. Not all Hufflepuff's were soft, or rude and such. André was mostly well behaved, he was just having some fun. Same right the snakes. Knowing it would probably get detention, he flicked a pea at the perfect.

A drop of mint sauce flew across the table, splattering all over both Nora and Qrow, who was probably an unintended target, but since they were sitting nearby, they still got as much of the blast as Nora did. It came from out of Nora's line of sight, but she was convinced it was that it came from that boy, the one who'd made a series of insults and food throws earlier. But why had he thrown anything at her? Her eyebrows creased in frustration as she furiously tried to wipe the sauce from her front. Luckily, it had only gotten on the sweater, so she removed that before turning towards her assailant.
"Hey, what was that for?" she asked, glaring at him. He was having far too much fun. Picking up a bowl of greens, she was about to chuck it at him, when a loud voice yelled out.
“Enough!” it said, and Nora realised with a start that it was their prefect, Avery Leveret. Slowly, Nora put down the greens, hoping that he hadn't noticed. To be fair, she hadn't done anything yet, besides laughing, so he couldn't get her in trouble. Directing his gaze towards the boy who'd thrown the mint sauce at Nora, the first year prefect spoke again. “What were you thinking?” Then, he adressed them all, “You act beneath your blood. - I could expect it of a Hufflepuff but the rest of you are beneath your house. All of you better explain yourselves, or you’ll all be giving the House Elves a night off, doing the dinner dishes and cleaning this entire room.”
At this, Nora nearly sputtered with surprise. Was he really going to make blood purist comments now? Qrow seemed to think the same thing, and they soon spoke up in defense. "You act beneath your blood." They mimicked angrily, and Nora nearly laughed. This time she held in it, remembering what happened the last time. Except, this time, she'd probably get detention from laughing at a prefect. After a second, Qrow continued,"The hell that supposed to mean, you pompous prick!
Okay, that was it. Qrow was probably safe before then, but now they were definitely going to get in trouble. Insulting a prefect? That was a sure way to land yourself a detention, especially since they were just caught in a food fight. But Nora stayed silent. Unless someone accused her of throwing anything, she had nothing to defend, and nobody could blame her.

This Was NOT The Plan!
@Lucian Mornstern · @Avery Leveret
♡─His remarks were that of typical boyish behavior, albeit cringe-inducing. The scrunch of her nose followed after his wink, an overall impression of the boy not one of fondness. Typically she did well to remind herself kids her age weren't mean as much as they were stupid, but this one was unforgivable. The gravy had been one thing, but the peas that followed only seemed to break whatever grip Maeve was holding onto. Indignantly did she watch as food was now strewn chaotically back and forth across the serpent's table, emotions of both excitement and annoyance mixing among students. Her gaze fell upon Lucian once more. "You BRAT."
A moment of regret flashed behind her dark brown eyes, hand racing to cover her mouth as though she didn't actually mean to say it aloud. The calamity of the situation was slowly sinking in, sped up by the voice of another chiming into their little war. Maeve's eyes watched in horror as the glistening badge of a prefect made its way into view, the face wearing it no other than Avery Leveret himself. She'd seen him of course, whether it was at the slumber party or one of Slytherin's duels. Granted, then he didn't carry what looked to be just a power-trip position, but times had changed.
Silently she listened to his 'lecture', any previous ignition in her eyes absent without a trace. Almost all of the ignition, that is, a scornful look still thrown to the boy who had made a mess of her. It was far from her best interest that she received a detention over something so stupid and not even apart of. Her witty remarks were a separate offense, and in her mind not anywhere near deserving of a food fight's punishment. Cautiously she opened her mouth to plead whatever case she had, though cut off by.. another new voice?
The disrespect that unfolded kept Maeve in awe, still just as silent as before. That kid really spoke their mind, and for a moment she found herself envying that trait. Though as the words got increasingly more bitter, her idolism quickly shook off. Maeve was by no means a kiss-up, but she wasn't a troublemaker either. The idea of talking to a prefect, regardless of age, so harshly was unfathomable. Maybe it was just how she was raised, but she didn't think she could speak to anyone like that. Ironically, maybe she was more capable than she thought considering the words that had left her mouth just minutes before.
Wasting no time to let the redhead add on, Maeve stood up to address him properly. "I would like to explain myself, actually." Her tone was firm, showing no true indication of the actual fear she felt. Was that good or bad in her case, really? Was it better to speak as though you aren't guilty, or let your timidness show it instead? Whatever it was, she pressed on. "Respectfully, a case of wrong place wrong time." Maeve's eyes shifted to Mornstern, once again cut sharply in disapproval. In her best efforts she tried to be anything but like Qrow, choosing her words carefully before they left her mouth. "For me, at least. Something flew over at him, apparently from her," A hand raised to point at the Slytherin who admitted guilt. "And all hell broke loose. The most I did was tell them to knock it off, and instead got drenched in food myself."
Her face looked upon Avery's for validation of the story, one comprised mainly of truth despite her remarks that didn't quite make the cut. They couldn't just expect her to sit back idly, could they? She gestured to the other girls that had been targeted, ones who had similarly not engaged. The point of the matter was, Maeve hadn't entertained the idea of a food fight. That was what these kids were in trouble for.

Qrow was becoming incredibly bitter the more everyone spoke, and they were well on their way to ripping their own hair out.
Not only had all of this all started accidentally, but now they were likely well on their way to getting the detention of a lifetime, a probable howler, and on top of all of this, they had just been referred to as a girl. Usually, this wouldn’t have bothered them; they were genderfluid and more than used to getting the occasional snide remark for their gender expression, but they were already angry, and something about it all pushed them over the edge.
"You should bear in mind not to assume..." They said it with a mild sense of venom.
"My pronouns are they/them, and I am both male and female, the best of both things! Besides, didn’t you just call Mornstern a brat? Perhaps you should stop being such a kiss-up?"

The fact that Ava had been searching for a staff member and got hit with food again infuriated her. Oh, so now this was the pelt-Ava-with-food show? Fine. At least she wouldn’t be the one with detention. At this point she had mush from Lucian on her face and the flung food all over her robes. She was now grateful that she hadn’t had time to change out of these robes. She wrinkled her nose in distaste, imagining her nice clothes ruined by flung food.
She still hadn’t seen a single prefect, and she began to head back to her table. Now, she was able to see slytherins newest prefect giving the other kids a piece of his mind. Good for him. And then she realized he was also talking to her, which was explainable given that she was covered in food. Why would she be covered in food if she hadn’t participated? Ava didn’t even know the answer to that.
While the other kids tried to argue their way out of the coming detention, she hung back and waited for them to quiet down. She would tell her side of the story, and it would be completely accurate, unlike things she had said to get her way out of other detentions.
Finally, she had a moment to speak. She stepped closer to the prefect she knew to be Avery, but stayed far enough that none of the food would touch him. “Here’s what actually happened,” she announced, grabbing a napkin from the table and quickly swiping her face. “This entire table,” she hated to include Lucian in the innocent side, but he really hadn’t done anything. “Was minding their own business when someone–” That some she now knew to be the kid over there, a first year. She pointed them out, not knowing their name. “flung food at Lucian. He was quick to blame it on me—” Fine, maybe she was leaving out a few parts, like the fact that she had laughed a little at the food thrown at Lucian. “—even though I had some of the food on me from it being flung! Proving that I didn’t do anything. Then he grabbed some food, mashed it into my face, and I got up to find a staff member because I couldn’t care enough to deal with this today. As I’m walking, I get hit by food again. He declares it a food fight—” She glared at Lucian. “and that was that. The. End. I’m. Innocent.”

Clair.
Clair Fernandez.
Sure the most beautiful name combination Colin had ever heard in his entire life! And she was sitting at the house table he used to wish he could sit at.
The Ravengirl! She was all the way on the other side of the great hall, and Colin had been gazing her way for most of dinner. It had been a long day, but an exciting one! After all, who could resist double potions and history of magic! Right? Colin sighed, desultorily jabbing his fork into something soft. He brought it up to his mouth. Colin bit down and --- KOFF! BLEUGH!
Colin's reverie was broken and he looked down, only to find that he'd speared his dinner napkin with his fork and had shoved that into his mouth! Brilliant move that! Colin dropped his fork onto the table and was busy picking bits of lint fuzz out of his teeth when he heard a growing commotion from further along the table.
Cries of "Oi psycho!" and "Yikes!" and "Take your lovers spat outside!" filtered through the background noise of the boisterous dinner tables. He knew a couple of the voices very well, and he turned his attention towards the commotion. "I, however, am amazing with the women!"
Lucian Mornstern. Fellow Wolf and dorm mate. "Hah!" Colin said to no one in particular. "And didn't one of them try to murder him in his sleep?" The memory of the night of the red knife still haunted him. His own dorm mate almost slain as they slept --- and by the looks of it, the whack job that did it had been allowed back to school. "Should have left that one in Azkaban."
Another voice he recognised was that of Qrow Beithir. They weren't well acquainted, but he'd seen the firstie around before and he had sensed that wherever Qrow flew, Trouble was sure to follow. Colin smirked.
"QAW! QAW!" he crew. "Qrow in the house with gravy blouse and Luci got all carrot doused!"
Of course, whatever had started it, the whole section of the Slytherin table centered around Luci was now engaged in a full on food fight! Peas and jelly and mash and who knows what all else were being throwing about with abandon! Colin remembered the Great Ravenclaw Foodfight of 2022, but this had devolved much more rapidly and, Colin wasn't sure, it looked like some Hufflepuffs had gotten involved!
Colin was really glad he'd gotten to dinner late this evening. It wasn't so much that he was so far above a good food fight! But, really, the sensation of bare feet walking on cold mashed potato was really not something Colin wanted to experience. He just shook his head and enjoyed the show.
For as long as it lasted.
And that wasn't very long! Slytherin's newest prefect --- that pompous looking kid, Avery Leveret --- decided to step into the fray. A little soon! The fight was just getting good, after all. And so long as it remained centered around the idiot first years, Colin was more than happy to watch the drama unfold.
"ENOUGH!" Prefect Leveret shouted. Colin was impressed. He had met Leveret during Luci's dorm games a while back. The boy seemed like a full of himself pure blooded Riddle wanna be. He didn't think the kid had the voice to command anything like respect. Colin listened very closely. "You act beneath your blood," he said. And "beneath your House."
"Whoa," Colin said under his breath. He smirked. He was really taking his duties as prefect so seriously! More loudly, he called out: "Make em use a toothbrush, Sir Prefect!" His eyes twinkled with mischief. Surely this Avery Leveret was a boy that Colin would keep his eyes on. Very closely. And also would be sure to keep himself and his own various --- ah, extracurricular activities --- out of the other lad's line of sight!
Colin couldn't wait to watch the up coming punishment being doled out!
