Knights Tourney
[quote]Cassie steered her broom to face off against her opponent, a younger girl with brown hair. Unlike Cassie's choice of a sleek Pegasus, her opponent had opted for a fauna-adorned unicorn broom. "Aw, look at your pretty little broomstick!" she teased as the pair waited for the game to start. "You know, unicorns tend to run away when there's a challenge. Will you be doing that too?" A little light-hearted taunting never hurt anyone, Cassie reasoned. Even when the match begun, an experimental swing of her lance seemed much more appropriate than launching forwards straight away like so many other contestants were doing. In fact... "Lances are all well and good, but sometimes you just need a little... extra." Cassie reached into her cloak and pulled out the lightsabre which completed her Jedi Knight costume. With a flick of her wrist, the plastic subing inside extended to form a prop that was almost as long as the lance which Cassie held in her other hand. Grinning, the Beauxbatons student duel-wielded her unlikely pair of weapons, only wishing that she had a third hand with which to beckon the other girl forward. "Come on then." No, the addition of a lightsabre wouldn't give Cassie any real advantage - it might even be detrimental to her performance - but it might intimidate her opponent a little. "You're about to get beaten by Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin!"

April 21st 2023, Late afternoon, early evening
All the set up, how everything was so beautifully decorated, the music, the scents of such wonderful and delicious delicacies, all that cheerful and enthusiastic atmosphere was so realistic that enabled a full immersion into an amazing adventure in a fantastic Medieval Era and Ying could feel herself walking through time, while she heard her name being called and walked towards her rightful position at the left side of the dirt path surrounded by a wooden fence.
Ying first looked around her, towards where avid and joyful spectators were sat and watching the tourney, sharing conversations and looking at the participants with expectant looks, waiting too see who would be the next winning. She felt a little tingle of nerves spreading on her insides and the adrenaline taking care of her when she finally sat on her very fancy white pegasus broom. Holding her shield close to her chest with her left arm and her lance tightly with her right hand, Ying felt ready to face her opponent.
The young girls started to fly towards each other, Ying adopted a very concentrated stance, as always, when she was facing a challenge she could feel it in her heart, the will to win, to give it all with bravery and not being afraid of all that could go wrong. Living the moment, be fearless and trust in herself and her skills. And that's how everything happened, like a scene from a movie unfolding in front of her, but this time what her eyes saw was the protagonist's perspective as she faced yet another of her many adventures. And that's when she felt it, a massive impact coming for more then one place in her body. Her right hand tightened even more around the lance when Ying felt it hit Roksana and at the same time she also felt it in her chest, her opponent's lance hit her in the right place when she downed her shield for her attack. It was such a perfect timing both had! Ying kept a little foward before she was able to pull herself together and stop her broom. By instict she looked back, just to make sure Roksana was alright and that her hit had not been to much for the other girl...she really didn't wanted to harm her that badly. "You okay?" Ying asked her, before continue to face the rest of her challenge and heading to her rightful position in the field.

A grin, as Replacement @Ginyami Midorimori @Jack Burnettactually dodged out of the way of his lance.
"Oooh, knight in shining armor can ride!" A half-taunt, half-declaration came out. The Mahoutokoro student took a moment to look his opponent up and down, trying to get a measure of his new opponent. It wasn't every day that the person Aryaan Shamsi was facing is suddenly replaced by a man from the other end of the planet after all, though the Indian kid wasn't quite sure if his new opponent was South American on Mediterranean.
Now that he thought about it, there were no South European schools here, were there; and he hadn't had all that much experience with the South Americans, save for that one game in Quidditch, most of which he'd just yelled at the Beaux Seeker (hi @Starlee Kenney) from the sidelines.
Maybe he should try and make some new friends from a new part of the world, that might be interesting. But first, the newest boyo had to prove that he wasn't just all luck.
Heh. This might not end up being a disappointment after all. "That's cool and all hero, but can you do handle THIS??"
And with a yell, Aryaan Shamsi leapt into the next round of jousts
The curtains fell. And the silence was deafening

Knights Tourney
The first round of this Knights Tourney game had quickly called to an end, and it was not a very good first round of the game. Andy`s lance had failed to hit his oppoment Botan, while his oppoment had managed to hit him successfully. Not a very good sign. The brown-haired Second Year Thunderbird broom racer wondered how he would perform in the future rounds. He even began to wonder that if that Knights Tourney game was really a game for him since he found himself not that interested in the game as he thought he would do and he did not perform as well as he thought, and he was seriously considering whether or not he should quit that Knights Tourney game. "Maybe that Knights Tourney game is really not my cup of tea since I really did not enjoy that game very much? Should I tell the moderator that I am going to quit that game? I don`t consider myself as some sorts of a quitter, but... I really don`t know what I should do at this point, but I think I should at least focus on the next round and leave everything behind just for now, I can think about other stuff later after this round." The Second Year Thunderbird broom racer thought before preparing for the next round.
"Alright then. That was a good shot, Botan. Now, let`s see how we are going to perform in the next round. Good luck to both of us cos honestly I`m not very sure how I am going to perform in the next round." Andy said to his oppoment Botan before holding up his armor and the sword and waited for the next round of the Knights Tourney to began. The brown-haired Thunderbird broom racer was a bit curious yet nervous about how he was going to perform in the next round, cos if he performed well in the next round, that may change his opinoin about that little Knights Tourney game. The brown-haired Second Year Thunderbird prayed and hoped he would do well in the next round of that little Knights Tourney game, but he still had no idea how that would turn out to be. Hopefully, he was just unfamiliar with the game in the first round, and would do better in the next round, at least that what Andy hoped to happen in the next round of this little game.
Mentioning: @Charlie Jacobsen as Botan MiuraAction SentReducioAfter this round, I`ll have Andy step down from the game cos I may not have time to post every round due to exams in May. I`ve already owled Bea about that, sorry for any inconveniences that may cause.

More people started to come into the section of the grounds reserved for Tourney Knights at first, but she paid little attention to them until she heard a familiar voice speaking in a language that was both familiar and unfamiliar to her. Roksana slowly turned her head around to see a very familiar face indeed: Ahikiko, a Mahutokoro student she had met on the Grounds earlier.
He had said something that sounded like Japanese(Roksana wondered if he didn't greet her in English on purpose), but then greeted her in the more-so familiar English language. "Yes, very nice to see you too," said Roksana, nodding. Roksana watched as more people from different schools flooded in. Oh, the perks of being an early bird. Then she saw another girl coming toward her.
"Yes, I'm Roksana," said Roksana, guessing that the girl who was talking to her must be her dueling partner. Roksana let a small snicker escape from her lips when the girl's lance fell out of her hands. Roksana patiently waited for the girl before she turned her attention back to her. "Nice to meet you, Hui-Ying," Roksana said, smiling.
"No worries, I think it'll get a lot easier to carry all of that stuff later," chuckled Roksana, a little slowly.
After the pleasantries and such, the match started. Roksana got into a stance, and as she felt the lance get her, Roksana saw, with satisfaction, that she had also gotten a hit on Hui-Ying too. "I'm fine, but I don't think it's me you have to worry about," said Roksana confidently. Prepare to be afraid!

Round 2 was exciting! It seemed that this was the make or break round, and participants knew it. Last round many had gone for lance but a few were taunting or shieling. Not this round! All the participants were going on the attack, not giving a care to whether they might just injure themselves. They needed to win! The moderator was on the edge of their seat, watching as one after the other, the squires clashed wooden lance upon the breastplates of the other.
This round seemed more successful too, which was possibly due to the determination thrumming through the squires bodies. Akihiko and Daphne both scored this round, leaving nasty dents on the others armour as they clashed.
Botan was much more successful than Andy, who somehow missed altogether. It seemed the Tourney was all too much for the young Ilvermorny boy and after the 2nd match, he quietly spoke to the moderator about pulling out of the Tourney. The moderator, ever gracious, allowed it. This was all fun and games, people had to remember that. It wasn't life and death.
Hui-Ying and Roksana were next, and somehow Hui-Ying got the better of the other girl. Was it the Hogwartians good look or superior skill? Or both? One would have to wait and see if this luck prevailed into the third and final round.
Raizel Voltrouz, a choatic little first year (from what the moderator had heard) and Stephen were next. They were both determined to knock each other off their respective brooms, and only one would succeed. The moderator craned to see the match. It was a tight one this one, as Raizel missed by an inch to hit her opponent. Such action made for an interesting game that's for sure!
Hiro Bakugo it seemed was the outstanding winner of his match. His prowess with the wooden instrument of injury, as the moderator was now calling it was phenomenal! His opponent, Mathis Aloysius, just like Andy before him, also came up to the moderator and asked to pull out of the Tourney. The moderator waved them away with a quick word to get seen to by medical staff.
The battle of the two Cassie's raged on this round. Both her exceptional with their lance weilding but unfortunately only one would succeed. It was the older Cassie, either due to her age or better experience, outmanuvered the younger Cassie, gaining victory! The war though, had not been won and there was still time for Cassie to avenge herself and Hogwarts!
Off to a slow start last round, Aryaan and Verona were flying this round! Quite literally at each other, lances cocked and pounding into each other to cause the most damage. Even though both had tried to dodge the others lance, it didn't help. They both ended up hitting with broom decorations flying off and falling into the crowd. The moderator picked up a fallen flower from the event and placed it on their chest. A token once this was all over.
Grinning once the final match had finished, the moderator stood, raising their hands like a queen commanding silence from their subjects. "Well done brave squires! Only one more round to go. Make it count! Please make sure to get your armour and equipment seen to if it needs fixing and have some water before your next match. We will commence soon."

As Tone swung back around to go back to the starting point again, he noticed his opponent leaving the area. What was going on? At first, he wondered if he'd ended up hurting him too much? But it seemed as if Mathis was fine, not hurt enough to retire because of an injury, which was good. Maybe he'd just had enough of the tournament? Shortly afterward, Tone was informed of his new opponent. Well, that was nice! He'd wondered if he'd just automatically win if his opponent pulled out but this was even better. At least he'd still be able to go up against someone! However, this time it turned out to be none other than his fellow student... Botan. Ah, how unfortunate. But it was all a fun game, it shouldn't be a problem, right? None of his armor needed fixing and Mori was doing very well for him. The only thing that'd needed changing had been his lance but he'd already done this. So all he needed to do now was get into position and wait for the starting signal to happen. Tone waved at Botan as his friend came over to his side. "Botan!!! We're up against eachother! This should be fun!" He told the other boy, as the duo-toned teen waited for him in position. Who would come out victorious in this last stage? Only time would tell for them. |

In position for the next round, Raizel looked over to her opponent to finally get a proper look at them. A boy, not from Hogwarts, maybe just a bit older and quite experienced with how the first round had ended up. While it was frustrating not being able to hit someone, losing her cool would just result to disaster. "Heyyo." She greeted, giving the boy a wave and that almost made her fall off from her broom. Luckily, she managed to hold on, grinning at that blunder.
He introduced himself as Stephen during the first round, so it'll be rude for her if she doesn't introduce herself back. "I'm Raizel. Sorry about earlier and the late introduction." She apologized with a sheepish grin on her face hoping that she didn't seem like she ignored him during the first round. Well, she was distracted earlier. Raizel looked down for a while, hoping that the next round would at least be a bit better than the first one.
She's still hungry though, wanting to grab something to eat but she needs to at least finish this game that she signed up for and things aren't looking good for her it seems. Things aren't just going her way lately huh and even in this simple game, she didn't manage to land a hit just yet. Second round is coming up and she's hoping to get at least one hit on her opponent but, of course, the universe isn't that kind. Even in this simple game, her misfortune seems to have followed her.
She charged on with a lance in hand once the round started, her eyes on Stephen as she raised her arm. She was less distracted this time, focused on her target but she still missed, by an inch at that. That was enough to give the boy a chance to get a hit on her and he did. Another score for her opponent. Damn it, Raizel cursed in her mind, gritting her teeth as she took control of her broom before she went speeding off of the stadium, letting herself hover in the air as she gathered her thoughts. What bad luck she has right now that even in this game she couldn't properly strike her opponent.
Things are looking bad points wise and to be honest, Stephen already won. She doesn't have a chance now, might as well give up right? Well, not really. Raizel took a deep breath before going back into position, looking over to Stephen as she discarded that troubled look on her face earlier. No, now is not the time to think about the previous weeks. This should be a fun event, she'll deal with her troubles after the ball.
"Nice work!" She told him as she passes by him, managing to show a smile. Giving up wasn't an option. If she loses, it won't be because she has given up.

Botan knew that he would attempt to lance again. The first time he had done well, and he had scored three points on andy, so why not try again and get three more points. Botan gripped the broom tightly with his left hand, and held his sword tighter. He had to make another hit on Andy.
But then… Botan missed.
Immediately, Botan felt as if all of the motivation had left his body. His mindset went downhill. He had to do better next time. Andy didn’t even try to lance Botan, so Botan thought that he would end up shielding, but no. Andy didn’t even try to taunt Botan, so he didn’t make a move. Andy left the area, and Botan was confused.
Had he done something wrong? Hit too hard the first time? Botan hopped off his broom and was instructed that he would be playing his final point against another Mahoutokoro student that was older than him. His name was Hiro Bakugo, but everyone seemed to call him Tone. Interesting.
Botan felt the need to beat him. Hiro greeted Botan, but Botan didn’t really know how to respond, so he fell back on a friendly response. “Hello Tone.” He responded with a surprisingly cold tone. “May the better student win.” He added in the same tone.
Botan took a deep breath. He had to beat Tone. Show him that he was better. And then, it was on.
