"I said, you’re a right prat, you know that?” Odi repeated, ruffling Lucian’s hair with his free hand. The boys had managed to escape the boredom of learning about doxies and were exploring the castle at their own leisure. “That muggleborn girl didn’t even do anything to you.”
The two of them had managed to slink their way out of Defence Against the Dark Arts and were now bounding through the corridor after they had spent the better part of the lesson tormenting Isabel Wiseacre. Odi felt a pang of retroactive guilt at how they'd treated the Gryffindor girl but in truth, he liked being around Lucian. It felt good to be around boys his own age after spending so much of his childhood cooped up indoors or sneaking around muggle London.
They passed a portrait of the fat friar and Odi used his index finger to knock the frame wonky. Ignoring the grumblings of the surrounding paintings, he span round on his heel, walking backwards so as to face Lucian while they walked. “So, what shall we get ourselves up to?” He smirked. “Mess up the library? Find a secret passageway?” Odi stopped back-stepping as he walked into the newel post that stood at the top of a stairway. Shooting a grin at Lucian, he vaulted over it and slid boyishly down the bannister. “WOOOOOOOOO!” He hollered, his voice echoing down the corridor. He rolled his body off the side just before he hit the bottom newel post. “Peeves has the right idea! That was ace!”
He held the post at the bottom of the stairs and swung round on it. “Go on, try it.” He nodded up at Lucian. “We’ll go exploring in a sec.” Odi turned on the spot. His eyes drifted across the walls of the castle as he tried to imagine how he might hide a secret passageway if he were creating a magic castle.

I had a death grip on my bad as we made our way out the classroom, bloody mudblood. Wait until I see her again! (unbeknownst to Lucian, he would see her again, and like this time, it wouldn’t be for a nice reason) I huffed and turned back to see if Odi was following me. He was. I smiled to myself as I face forward again.
I let out a short but loud laugh as he called me a prat, “Was just joking around,” I said, not looking at him. I wasn’t joking around. I batted his hands away and flicked his ear as he ruffled my hair. “Yeah, she did everything wrong. She spoke to me without me or you speaking to her first,” I stated, shoving my hands into my pocket. She knows what she did wrong, addressing us, addressing me, without asking to! The disgrace.
We walked through the corridors, adrenalin pumping due to our previous encounter and the fact we just skipped class! Merlin, mother will be pissed if she hears of this! And grandfather… I didn’t feel guilty over what I did to the girl, not one bit. She deserved it, and if she feels bad then it’s not my problem she is a baby. I am so glad I met Odi though — despite his status as a Gryffindork. I shot a look at the hair-less (I sniggered to myself) boy. He’s alright, in’he.
I laughed when he knocked the portrait, “Wait wait,” I motioned for him to come over, “Should we just put it in the floor?” I asked. “Or any portrait?” I had the levitation charm to make things easier!
As we carried on walking, Odi question what we should do. Honestly, I didn’t know. “Messing up the library is okay, sounds a little boring to be honest,” plus what would they do? They can’t break books because that will be even worse. “Secret passages sound fun!” I said with a look of amazement in my eyes.
I started howling with laughter as he slid down the banister. I remembered when I did something similar like this with a bunch of random people. “Me next!” I announced, copying Odi. He called for me and I bounced onto the rail. “AWOOOOOOOOO!” I couldn’t help but yell as I felt the breeze I made on my face. Shit shit. I let out a scoff when I hopped off the end, “Can’t imagine doing that every month!” a genuin look of resentment showing on my face. “Agreed,” I said to his Peeves comment. I pulled a face, “We could go swimming!”

W ithout any attempt to hide it, Odi rolled his eyes. "You'd get along great with my uncle, he uses that word all the time. My dad isn't too much of a fan." He cast his eyes to the roof, scanning for any indicators of Hogwarts secrets. "He says it's an archaic word and it's not politically correct anymore." After saying this, Odi shrugged as if to say Who knows?
Lucian let out a bout of laughter as Odi knocked a painting askew "Wait, wait, should we just put it on the floor? Or any portrait?" He beamed, practically exploding with glee. "Or..." Odi thought out loud. "We could find one of the more annoying paintings and put it somewhere it's really not supposed to be- Ever been in the Hogs Head?" He reached into his robes and pulled out a fake permission slip, looking around to check that no one was around before stuffing it into his bag.
Waiting at the bottom of the stairs as Lucian vaulted down after Odi, the blond boy let out a hoot of laughter as he heard Lucian howling the whole way down. "You're a loon."
“We could go swimming!” Lucian suggested while pulling a face.
"What, in the boys toilets with Peeves?" Odi teased. "Or something more scenic, like the black lake?"

I waved him off, “Don’t much deal with politics. Leave that to my father and my grandad. Bare boring,” I commented. It was nice to loosen up around Odi, to not at least try to be a dignified boy. We walked past the paintings and I suggested we take them down.
My eyes widened, “The hogs head?” I whispered the word as if it was sacrilegious. “No! Never! But… but I want to; that sounds like a great idea. What shall we take?” I asked, scouting the room with a mischievous glint in my brown eyes. I watched as he pulled out a fake permission form. “Mines in my dorm, mate,” I said with a groan.
Do we really have to walk all the way down to the dungeons? I laughed as he called me a ‘Loon’ and grinned. “Of course,” and I ran a hand through my hair. I pulled a face at the idea of the toilets. “Ew. That may be how poor people with no self respect swim, but us? We get the lake!” I exclaimed with a scoff and an eye roll. “However. We should go get my form? If we want to get into Hogsmeade?” did I even need to bring my form?
What portrait though? I spied one and walked over to it. Anne Boleyn. “What about ‘er,” I asked, juddering my head to the side. I feel dead sorry for her to be honest, or wait, was it Jane I felt sorry for? I dunno. “Wingardium Leveosa,” I whispered, controlling the portrait down to a reasonable height. “Get it,” I said to Odi. “Now. Permission form,” I trailed off.

P art of Odi wanted to roll his eyes at Lucian’s cavalier attitude towards politics, though he imagined it was perhaps easier to be so flippant given that Lucian was a pureblood. Odi often moved among these high-society circles, and while his surname carried with it a certain cache of influence, this was often spoiled by the revelation of his mother’s identity. Silently, Odi prayed that Lucian was not an avid reader of Witch Weekly, or at the very least that he had not seen the articles on his mother’s fashion line. “What’s… Your family like?” He said, quickly flipping the spotlight onto Lucian
Noticing the shock on Lucian's face when he mentioned the Hogs Head, Odi grinned. “Not too scared are you?” He teased, “It’s not so bad in there, trust me.” He watched as Lucian pulled out his wand and levitated a portrait of Anne Boleyn straight into Odi’s hands. The weight of the metal frame gave his a slight jump as it plunked into his hands “She’s surprisingly heavy.” Odi grunted. The portrait let out a protestation to which Odi dismissed her “Shut up ya squib.” He truthfully did not know whether the rumours of Boleyn’s blood status were true, but it was a good way to shut her up. “Now. Permission form.” Lucian said, trailing off. “Why don’t I meet you at the front gates?” Odi suggested, ignoring Anne Boleyn’s sulking painting. “It’ll give me time to figure out how I’m gonna hide this one.” He held up the frame indicatively.
Odi looked back up at the changing staircases, realising that he was going to have to take the painting all the way back up to the Gryffindor common room and find a way to hide from the faculty the whole time. He blew an invisible fringe on his forehead and wrestled a determined look onto his face. If anyone was capable of smuggling Anne Boleyn into the Hogs Head, it was Odilon Wilde.
