Letters Between Cousins

As an only child in the family and almost always as a shy little boy without many friends back at Ilvermorny, Andy, of course, always felt very lonely. What was worse, his best friend Milly had disappeared from Ilvermorny since the Second semester of Andy`s second year started, which was like adding frost to the snow. As for his lovely friend Annika, she was in that Russian school named Koldov, so maybe he could send a few letters to the Russian school. However, during to being busy with his schoolwork and broom racing practice, as well as some Hexwizard practice as a member on the waitlist, he was really behind on his letters, and even had not sent much letters back to his family. Talking about family, he remembered his mum always talk about having an older brother back in England named Graham, who later married a Veela, resulting in him having a Part-Veela cousin named Daphne, studying in Hogwarts. Andy had never seen that cousin before, so he figured out maybe he could send a letter to Hogwarts and get some information about that Part-Veela cousin. Maybe, they could even schedule a meeting during the time they other schools travel to Hogwarts again for the ball and the second hexwizard tark. With that in mind, he then grabbed the quill and parchment, and began to write that letter when he came back to his dorm one particular evening, March 29th. And this was what he wrote:
Dear Daphne aka the mysterious cousin,
I hope this letter finds you well. Mum always tells me she has an older brother living in England named Graham, who later married a Veela, resulting in me having a part-Veela cousin studying in Hogwarts. That always seems to be very intriguing to me cos I don`t have much knowledge about Veelas and Part-Veelas apart from the fact that they are said to be exceptionary pretty. That makes me wanna get to know you better, about your background, your school life, your hobbies, and so on. I hope you won`t mind this venturous letter from the other site of the Pacific Ocean as a way to get to know you.
So, how`s life in Hogwarts? Here in Ilvermorny things a bit hectic, with the school work, the broom racing practice, and some Hexwizard stuff cos I`m on the waitlist for Ilvermorny team. Don`t worry, I haven`t get a chance to play yet, and I am probably not going to die. I think life in Hogwarts must be busy as well with the school work and a lot of other activities, right?
By the way, I think in mid April, Ilvermorny and the other magic schools are going to travel to Hogwarts once again for the ball and the Second Hexziard task. I hope we may have a chance to meet there for the first time! I attached a picture with the letter to get you an idea what I look like.

When Andy had finished that letter, he attached the letter to an snowy owl and waited for the letter to cross the Pacific Ocean and arrive in Hogwarts. Probably within a few days, he would receive a reply from that cousin in Hogwarts.

Letters Between Cousins
Daphne was quite surprised to get an owl, as she had already spoken with her parents and it was too soon for them to mail an outfit for the next event. Her father, Graham, loved his sister Alice dearly, however they were from a pureblooded family. When he married a Veela, he had no choice but to back away from the family in order to reduce the chance of infighting; all he wanted was for his kids to be happy. So he contacted Alice when he could, and only attended family reunions when (if) invited. As she made her way to the Owlery, she gently took the letter before taking a seat in order too properly read and respond to it.

I am so so sorry for not trying to reach out to you before, but my father doesn't really give me the chance with all the secrecy! I am Part-Veela, but you see, some members of our family are not very happy about that. My mother is a Veela, she's from Bulgaria and met my dad when he was researching dragons there-I'll send a photo! Nevertheless, I trust that you don't mind and would be more than happy to answer your questions! However, it may be best to answer the longer ones in person! : )
For starters, I'm a first year Hufflepuff and I love dragons and animals! I also recently got accepted onto the Quidditch team as second-string Seeker, which is basically like a backup I think! I'm still very happy about it!! It is very busy around here, at least for me, as I am part of many clubs and study a lot. There's never a boring moment though!
I'd love to meet up with you when you're here, I'll be attending all the events and I'll be sure to look for you in all of them!! I hope that we can be really great friends; sometimes I feel alone because my dad's side of the family always excludes him from the big parties. But if we proved them wrong, that purebloods and half-breeds can still be family then we could change everything, right? One day I want to visit you too, you're in America yes? Tell me what you think, I'll definitely be rooting for you during the Hexziard!

Interacting with: @Daphne SapphirusAndy was just getting up from his bed when he noticed an owl arrived at his window carrying a letter a few days after he sent that letter that crossed the pacific ocean and arrived at Scotland to his cousin Daphne in Hogwarts. The brown-haired Thunderbird broom racer opened the envelope, and as he expected, it was a letter from his cousin Daphne far from the Scottish Highlands. After reading throught Daphne`s letter, the brown-haired Thunderbird broom racer quickly put on his clothes, and grabbed a quill and a parchment, and began to write the letter. And this was what he wrote:
Andy then put the letter in an envelope when he finished writing, then he attached the letter to an owl and waited for another letter to arrive at the window of his house/dorm in a few days.Dear Daphne,
Thank you for the letter, the lollipop, and the photos! You are a pretty little girl, and you parents, that`s my uncle and auntie, are very good looking as well! I`ve also included my parents pics as well as a chocolate bar as a thank you gift, hope you will like that! By the way, it is extremely cool that your dad, uncle Garham, is a zoologist and met your mum when researching dragon in Bulguria! My biggest passion lie in flying and broom racing, but I am really interested in magical creatures as well! It will be great if you can tell something more about that in your next letter!
Anyway, moving on to the letter itself, you say you are a Hufflepuff, what is that? Does Hogwarts also have houses like here in Ilvermorny? Here we have Horned Serpent, Wampus, Thunderbird, and Pukwudgie, and I am a Second Year Thunderbird, if you don`t know. By the way, congrats for being accepted as a second string seeker! I don`t know much about Quidditch honestly, but I suppose it must be a quite hard and competitive sport, like broom racing. As for the life in Ilvermorny, it is also quite busy but since I am or at least used to be quite shy and do not have many friends around school, life can be boring at times, so if we can remain in contact through letters, that will add something great to my life!
Yeah, I am really looking forward to seeing you in Hogwarts when Ilvermorny and other magical school around the world arrive at Hogwarts for the ball and the second Hexwizard task on the 16th, and if you and your family come to America to visit us someday, our family will give our warmest welcome to you and your family! Anyway, I understand some people in the pureblood school might think your family is "inferor" because you dad married a Veela, but my parents always told me blood status do not determine a wizard and we should never discrimine someone because of who their parents are. I would like to become friends with you so we can prove to those blood purists that what really matters is the inside, not how "pure" your blood status is.

Letters Between Cousins
Daphne was making her way back to her dorm since she had forgotten her books, huffing softly as hurriedly entered. That was when she had seen the letter, putting down her satchel in order to take it and sit down on her desk. Daphne was excited to see that it was from Andy, eating the chocolate bar with one hand while writing a response with the other.
Dear Andy,
You are very welcome, your parents look like movie stars! I can see the resemblance between my dad and your mom, now that I know about you I'm sure that he'll let finally let me visit! By the way, my father doesn't really like to call himself a zoologist, he prefers just dragonologist since he rarely researches other magical creatures as much as dragons! I want to be a magizoologist though since I love all animals equally! Additionally, I forgot to mention that I have two older brothers, Ryuu and Cyrus. Ryuu would love you, he's very friendly while Cyrus is more...cocky to say the least. Ryuu is in his last year of Hogwarts and Cyrus wants to be a dragonkeeper, it's like what my dad does but he'd actually own dragons!
A Hufflepuff is one of the four Hogwarts houses, it's like the ones you describe at your school. There is Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Ravenclaw. It would take so long to describe to you the the traits of each house without sounding stereotypical but I can speak for mine! Hufflepuffs are more than just the kind students, we are known for our patience and loyalty. I'm sure that's why I was sorted as one, as I care about my friends a lot and my heart is true!
I believe that most people have those traits though, I wonder if anyone ever gets to change houses. I'm fortunate enough that Hogwarts is pretty inclusive, I haven't met anyone who makes fun of blood status in this school just yet. I've even met a Dhampir which is a half vampire and half human person! I know the bullies are out there, I hope by then I'm strong enough to deal with it. I will convince my dad to let us go to America to meet you, my mother will likely tell you all about Veelas too! She loves sharing her stories and info about her culture, she may even give you a cool Veela artifact!

Another few days had passed, and when Andy returned to the dorm one particular evening, the brown-haired Thunderbird broom racer saw an owl waiting for him in the window of his dorm. It was of course, another letter from his mysterious cousin, Daphne, across the ocean from Hogwarts in Scotland. So, after reading through Daphne`s letter, the brown-haired Second Year Thunderbird broom racer grabbed a piece of parchment and his quill, then began to write his reply.
Dear beloved cousin Daphne,
Thank you for your letter all the way from Scotland! You dad being a dragonologist putting particular focus on dragons seems so cool! And if you can also become a zoologist, that will be really awesome as well! I still have no idea what I will become in the future, maybe an Auror in the American Magical Congress like my dad, or some professional broom racer in the international matches, I am not very sure. I still have a pretty long life ahead of me after all, so I suppose I`ll figure out what I will become in the future! By the way, you siblings also sounds really fun! I wish I had any siblings, cos as an only child in the family without any siblings or a lot of friends, it can be quite lonely to be frank, but I am lucky to have such a nice and friendly cousin like you to be quill pals with!
Honesty and Loyalty, I can see why you can sorted into Hufflepuff, you really seems to be an very genuine person who show a lot of care towards friends, at least to me. My house, Thunderbird, are said to be full of brave students, and I think I am truly quite couragous, since I am willing to risk my life to save those who are truly important to me and is dare to participate in the extremely risky Hexwizard tournment.
I am glad that you haven`t met someone who is considered to be a blood purist and you are in a quite inclusive school. Here in Ilvermorny, at leasr all of the students I have met are quite nice and friendly, the only thing is our headmaster does not seem to get a very good reputation among students, but that is the only downside and the life in Ilvermorny is still quite good overall.
By the way, you made friends with a half human. half Vampire? That sounds very intriguing yet a bit dangerous. I don`t mean to judge you but could you please tell me more about that in your next letter if you don`t mind. Do they actually bite? And yeah, it will be great if you and your family can visit US, and maybe someday we can meet up in UK as well when my family visits there!

When Andy finished the letter, he again put the letter into an envelope and attached it to an owl, then waited for the letter to travel cross the ocean and arrive at Hogwarts in Scotland. Maybe another letter from Daphne will appear a few days after the brown-haired Second Year Thunderbird broom racer sent that letter using an owl.
