Favourite most interesting historical events: The "whole wars pack" of the 20th century (WW1, WW2 and the Cold War), the Spanish Civil War (1936-39), Thirty Years War (1618-1648), French Revolution (1789)
Favourite people from history, any deceased person from any time: Emilie du Châtelet, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Voltaire (I love authors/scientists of the Age of Enlightenment), Einstein, Simone de Beauvoir, Simone Veil (well known french feminists), Napoleon (as fascinating to talk about or study rather than "favourite". He is a pretty controversial historical xer in France for obvious reasons: slavery, counter-feminist... among others), Catherine de Medici, Marie Curie, Madame de la Fayette...

What is the first topic you want to discuss?: Women in history/sciences, WW2 in Asia (not really taught in school), or any historical topic from Ancient Greece to the end of the 20th century (skipping the Middle Ages tho. I'm not really interested in that period of History).
