Lesson 4, Defense Against The Dark Arts

I'm a bit confused, why is Baba Yaga considered a Hag? I mean, I know that Hags are capable of BASIC magic - but surely being able to fly, have a "cauldron" thing that can carry her and direct the way she wants - require incredible power? Before I came to Hogwarts. Io I always considered that she was a witch when reading Fairy Tales, so I would appreciate an answer!

I am using canon Harry Potter lore for this classification, which classified her as a hag. Hags are usually how muggles view magic folk in their fairytales, but they are not wizards/witches. Other creatures are capable of flight and are considered magical. Hippogriffs, pixies, etc. Hags are not unintelligent creatures, they are capable of having things like tools (magic cauldron, potions to help them blend in with witches, etc.) Hags are also known to brew potions, which requires a cauldron. There was even a program to help hags integrate into wizarding society at one point.

They are, however, not wizards/witches. Their magic does not really extend past the basics. Think of the complex spells wizards are able to cast. Hags also are visually different, they resemble old women and have four toes, not to mention their human flesh-eating appetites.

I was wondering, what would be the best way to find the appearance of imps? I'm on a school-issued computer, and most fandom sites and wiki's are blocked. Am I forgetting a description from the books? Thanks so much,

Hello @Avhira Burton, I am not sure what you mean when you say: Am I forgetting a description from the books?
Also I'm not sure whether there is an alternative way because I tried even searching for suggestions on YouTube and other places, and it had been days. In the event that wiki sites are prohibited, you can use your mobile device to look up imp appearances, etc. Furthermore, if you complete your hogwarts homework on the school computer, I advise taking a screenshot of the information you require using your mobile device and then typing it down later. I truly don't have any other suggestions besides that. Although I hope this helps.

For the last question on lesson 2 first year, can the ghost encounter be anywhere? That would make sense.

I did a Hogwarts Ghost, but assume that you can do anything.
