☆ Information ☆ Reducio Are you an experienced or new budding actor? Do you enjoy playing drama games? Are you a lover of all things theatrical and dramatic? Do you enjoy improv, or are interested in learning how to do it? Do you enjoy engaging in random skits to see where your imagination leads you? Or are you just looking for an extracurricular to put in the yearbook? Well, you're in luck! A hub for all things theatre, Drama Club can help students hone existing skills or develop new ones. You can act or go behind the scenes to learn how to do special effects for games, improv and skits. Although, the behind the scenes roles are limited as more actors are needed in the club. Regardless of what you do in Drama Club, remember the most important thing is to have fun! Don't forget to show up to meetings! Who knows, you may make some friends while developing your skills at the club! ☆ Yearly Skits ☆ Reducio Once a year, the Drama Club will hold a yearly production for Hogwarts to come see. It will consist of 3 short skits. We will hold auditions for the roles closer to the time and work towards our end goal of putting on the production. There will be a total of 11 different types of roles to choose from below. ROLES --- - actors (multiple roles) - intro host (1) - special effects/sound/lighting etc... (2) - backstage director (1) - prop director (1) - skit writers (3) - understudy (8 + however many actor roles for the skits) - costume designers (2) - prop crew (multiple roles) - extras (multiple roles) - spectator (multiple roles) Actors - Self-explanatory. You act in the production. Intro Host - You will come onto the stage and introduce the production to the audience and then exit once the production starts. Special Effects - You are in charge of special effects having to do with sound, lighting and any other technical things. Backstage Director - You are in charge of deciding what special effects, sound, lighting are used and when to use them. Make sure the special effects people know what they are doing and when they are supposed to do things. It's all on you to ensure your people will do the best they can do during the production. Prop Director - You are in charge of deciding what kind of props are going to be made. You must interact with the skit writers to make sure you know what kind of props will work with the skits. You are in charge of the prop crew people and need to make sure they know what they are doing and how to do it. Make sure you can teach your prop crew to move sets in between skits in the darkness. Skit Writers - You are in charge of writing the skits. There are 3 total skit writers as there are 3 total skits. The skit writers need to work together as the 3 skits have to combine/make sense. Understudy - You are backups in case someone can't make it, gets sick etc... there is one for each role. Prop crew, extras and spectators do not count. Every other position you can be an understudy for. You train to do the same thing as whatever role you are assigned to. You may not participate in the production if everything goes well but on the off chance something doesn't go well, you will step in and fulfill that role. Tatsu will decide if multiple people want to be understudy to the same position. Please list your interest in roles from top to bottom when applying to be an understudy once the available roles are revealed to the members. You will be selected for 1 role. Costume Designers - You are in charge of coming up with costume designs and actually making the outfits for the actors. Prop Crew - You are in charge of creating sets and props that will be used in the productions. You are also in charge of changing sets and props between the skits in complete darkness. Spectators - You can also decide not to participate in the production at all and simply support your fellow members on the sidelines. You can only be a spectator up to 3 times in a row. If you decide on being a spectator for a fourth time, you will be removed from the club. After all, this club is not designed for you to just watch others do the work. You must contribute in some manner too. Extras - You will make brief appearances during skits and have three or less lines. Sometimes you may not have any lines.
