A New Friend? Or a New Foe? PV Estelle

Spring had sprung, and Estelle wasn't sure whether or not she liked it. It was snowing not to long ago and the suddenly bright and flowery environment was definitely a change of weather. A change. Estelle hated changes, which was why the different weather fazed her. She had experienced too many changes in her life. The slightest change in atmosphere tended to set her off.

But the spring was beautiful, it was something the redhead could not deny.

The young girl was just hanging around after classes, trying to take in what she had learnt during the particular classes. It was peaceful. Until it wasn't.
A boy that was, most likely, older than her waved and smiled at her. Estelle didnt smile back, but she did wave. Who was he? Why was he walking towards her?
"Hi, would you mind a little friendly chat with me? My name is Andy by the way, if you don`t know, Second Year Thunderbird, broom racer," The boy said to her.
Estelle's immediate reaction was to shout, 'GO AWAY!' and be on with her life. But that was rude, which was why it was the exactly why she wanted to say it.
"Uh, hi Andy?" Estelle replied uncertainly. As far as her life went, Estelle tended to avoid most people. Keeping to herself. focusing on her studies and causing unnecessary drama wherever she went.

"My name is Estelle. You can call me Es or something, though. First year, Wampus Cat" What an introduction. You can call me Es or something? Estelle sighed quietly, but she was secretly hoping that Andy would decide that Estelle wasn't worth his time. But with her luck, he'd probably end up staying.

The other girl with pretty red hair, who introduced herself as Estelle, shortened as Es, did not seem to be very happy meeting the brown-haired Thunderbird. That girl waved back to him, but did not smile, and there is a lot of uncertainty in her introduction. "Maybe it is too venturous for me to just walk up to that girl and start talking. Maybe she does not want to talk to people. I should probably apologize to her. I really don`t want to make a bad first impression to people after all." The brown-haired Thunderbird thought before opening his mouth to reply.

"Oh, nice to see you, Es. Please forgive me my attempt to talk to you was a bit venturous, and sorry to disturb you from whatever you are doing. If you would rather not to have a chat with me, I should probably go and try talking to someone else. I apologize again for making you upset, and I really don`t want to make you feel bad." Andy apologized to the other red-headed girl from Wampus cat with a sincere look, and waiting for the other girl to respond. The brown-haired Thunderbird really don`t want to make other people feel bad about his actions, though on many occasions he ended up doing so, before it was with Milly, now it was probably with Es as well. Maybe that was because he really always thought about himself first and did not think about other people`s feeling. His selfish side just constantly get himself into trouble, and he knew he must work on that in order to form a better relationship with others.

Estelle felt bad.
Was that rare for her? Yes, very much so. Usually, if she upset someone, she'd wave it off and say deal with it, because she thought it was fun to insult people- like a flyting the Scotts called it. A battle of verbal insults, except usually, she was the only one talking. But for some reason, she felt slightly bad for her cold introduction. Maybe Andy realised she wanted to be left alone. Despite herself, Estelle shook her head.

"No, its totally okay. We can...chat, I guess." Estelle shrugged. With what she said, this indicated that she was okay with talking but she wouldn't mind if he left. Estelle was a confusing young girl. "So, uhm, you said you were a broom racer, right? Do you like the sport? The closest I've come to flying was being on a plane."

Estelle surprised herself with the small laugh that escaped her lips on the last sentence. Though, this was one of the few times people decided to come talk to her. It's not like she wasn't approachable or anything, it's just sometimes she tended to act ruder than necessary and chased people away with her fierceness and inability to have a proper conversation without insulting the other person. Waiting on Andy's reply, she put her hands in her pockets and swayed a little.

Andy felt a sense of relief that Es did not seem to mind his sudden intrusion to some private time spent by Es herself. The brown-haired Second Year Thunderbird broom racer was always trying hard not to disappoint anyone or make anyone feel bad, so he was definitely glad that his young schoolmate from Wampus did not seem to be really angry about his decision to just suddenly come up to her for no particular reason expect for just trying to strike up a conversation. "Quite a strange way to meet someone new when you think about it, isn't it? But sometimes you got to do that in order to come out of your shell and try to meet someone new, right?" The brown-haired Thunderbird thought.

"Oh, I'm glad you actually don't really mind that, may we can have a chat for some time, if you are not really angry about that." Andy finally replied to the red-haired girl in front of him.

Then, the red-haired girl Es asked Andy about broom racing and mentioned something Andy has never heard about, the plane. "What is a plane? I've never heard about a plane before. It's that a muggle thing and is Es a muggle born? Anyway, blood status don't really matter to me after all and I dispise those blood purists."

"Well, broom racing is quite fun, you basically fly on your broom freely in the sky and go through some obstacles, like trees, vines, waterfalls, and things like that." Andy continued to say, "By the way, what is a plane, if I may ask? Is that a muggle thing? So, I don't mean to judge you or anything like that, are you a muggle born? Don't worry, I despise those blood purists and I think what really matters is the inside, not who you parents are." Andy then showed a friendly smile to Es to enforce the fact that blood status really did not matter to him despite being born in a pureblood family and waited for the red-haired girl in front of him to respond.

Estelle hated changes, which was why the different weather fazed her. She had experienced too many changes in her life. The Estelle wasn't really paying much attention to the talk on broom racing. She didn't really have an interest in flying. Her strength was more in duelling, and casting spells. But she looked up at him when he asked what a plane was. A small smile played at her lips when Andy asked what it was. Well this was going to be fun.
"Well," she said, "It's a giant teleportation device. In the shape of a silver tube, you just step in, say where you want to go, then boom. Just step out and youre at your destination, easy as that."

Did Estelle feel bad for lying to Andy? Not the slightest. Whatever sympathy she had felt for him when he had approached had suddenly evaporated and once Estelle discovered his muggle knowledge was limited- she was going to have fun with that. Yes, maybe taking advantage of his blood status seemed a bit cruel, but to Estelle, it was just a little fun.

"Yeah, both my parents are muggles," Estelle said, "My dad's a pilot. He's an instructor for planes, which means I'm pretty used to doing the teleportation stuff. Magic yet muggle."
She was stretching the lie slightly further. Austin was a doctor- but Estelle always thought he acted a bit like a pilot.
Estelles' watch beeped, indicating 4 o'clock. Time to do homework. The young girl groaned.
"Anyway, I need to head out, or head in. See you around, Andy," she said, before waving and walking off. Had she just made a friend?
Do friends lie and make fun of each other? she asked herself. Nope, no friend then.
