Hufflepuff vs Gryffindor: Match 5
Kim's movements were still slow, but it didn't matter much, since neither of the Hufflepuffs aimed at him anyway. Hades was healing himself, but Callista had seemed to drift off, not casting a spell this round, either. Both of the Gryffindors turned their wands on Hades. A knockback jinx and a fire spell hit Hades.
The rush of victory in her chest was quickly muffled by the sick realization that Hades was now unconscious. She felt a pang of guilt in her stomach, and watched as Hades was taken off the stage.
It felt good to be winning, of course, but it felt horrible for her to win to come at a cost for somebody else. She supposed that's how competitions were supposed to work, so there really wasn't any reason for her to feel bad, but... she knew how hard it was to lose.
Rose shook the thought from her head, and looked over at Kim, a small smile on her face. "That was great. You alright?" she asked, in the brief pause in the duel as Hades was taken off the stage.
She leveled her gaze at Callista again. They could do this.

This is it! This is the last leg for today's match. One more round and the match will be over soon. After Schweighöfer was taken out from the stage, from Cash's standing point the green eyes could see that Kim and Rose bunched together as they discussed in low whispers how the best course of action to take out the lone opponent that still standing on the other side of the piste.
Once the discussion had been over, Rose Moon was the first one that flew her spell toward the third-year Badger. She pointed her wand as Rose Moon said the incantation and did the wand movement for the Wind Jinx. Her incantation and wand movement was on point but despite Calista Lovis seeming deep in her own thought, the Hufflepuff could dodge Rose Moon's incoming assault.
How? It was a mystery for another day. Meanwhile, just like any other last round, Callista Lovis seems still in her distraught state. Cash wonders if they should stop the game early or not since Lovis did not do anything besides stand there and expertly evade the attack. But no matter how well Lovis evaded the assault, a good marksman may miss.
Once Sato saw that Moon's attacks on Lovis was not what both of the hoped for, the youngest out of the remaining Duellists that still stood on the stage will not just stand by idly while doing nothing. Kim Sato then did not waste any time as he slung his own spell which is the Green Spark Charm. A jet of light was traveling from Kim's end of the wand to the other side of the platform where Calista Lovis stood.
The spark was so bright it blinded Cash's eyes for a brief moment. And as for Lovis, she did not have time to dodge the bullet as the spell burst near her eyesight and blinded her too. "Holy hell! That was some kind of bright light, Aoki,"Cash uttered after their vision come back to normal. The Cuban descendant need to blink a few time to erase the dark spots that surrounded their line of vision.
And when Cash could see the room as normal again, they are ready for the last round to come and could not wait how it will unfold in front of their very own eyes.

Hufflepuff vs Gryffindor: Match 5
Rose pointed her wand at Callista, their only standing opponent. ”Ventus,” she whispered, and wind came from the end of her wand. Callista was able to dodge it, though. However, she wasn’t able to dodge Kim’s green sparks charm. Cash was right- it was bright, and that had to suck for Callista.
But Callista still wasn’t doing anything. Maybe she had just freaked out because her dueling partner was down. Still, Rose would have preferred a little bit more of a fight instead of just being able to shoot spells at Callista.
They were so close to their time being up, and Rose smiled slightly. It was the final minutes of the duel…

| ─── | Kim knew what Hades was going through now.
He'd been there himself a short time ago. The last duel he'd been in, the exact same thing had happened. Kim had been knocked unconscious by his opponents, trying to save his non-responsive partner at the time. He'd woken up in the hospital wing later only to discover from Eun-ji that Gryffindor had lost the match. It hadn't been something he could easily accept because it had been his first loss. At least it hadn't been his first duel, it had been his second, but still your first loss would always stay with you. He'd have to check later on to make sure Hades wasn't taking it too hard on himself. But for now, it was time to focus on the match!!! There was only one round left and their win was guaranteed at this point in time. Also, as long as nothing unexpected happened, it looked like both members of Gryffindor would be able to finish the round alive. Well, of course they would be alive, but both duelists would still be standing by the end of the match. Kim nodded when Rose asked if he was alright and let his eyes flicker over his partner. "You? You know, you're pretty good at healing spells. You thinking of becoming a healer?" He asked the older girl. She was only one year older than him. But that still made her older. Cash returned to the stage and resumed the match for them. Kim quickly unleashed his own spell, almost at the same time as Rose's. Unfortunately, Rose's spell ended up missing her target, Callista being good at dodging incoming spells. However, as Kim had cast at the same time as Rose, his own spell was much harder to evade. Right as Callista dodged Rose's Ventus, Kim's Verdimillious appeared directly to the right of Rose's spell. Exactly where Callista had just dodged to. A brilliant green blinding jet of light flooded the entire space, surprising everyone inside, including the caster... It was pretty powerful, enough so it seemed to have temporarily blinded everyone in the room. Everyone but Kim. Knowing what he was casting, Kim had averted his eyes ever so slightly as soon as the spell had come out of his wand. Unlike most people in the room, only Kim and Rose knew what they were going to do. So most likely, those were the only two who could have shielded their eyes at the last second to save their vision. Cash's comment on how powerful the light had been made him smirk. Well, he'd been determined about it... Even though he didn't tend to deal much damage. But that would eventually change as he built up more experience. With time, he'd become a great duelist. However, for now, all he wanted was to finish this last round with a flourish and end it on a good note. Who knews how long it would be before something good like this happened again? Maybe never again. |

It was finally come to fruition. So to speak that is. This round is the finishing round and there was a rare view on Cash's face which is a smile. If one asks the green eyes whether they enjoyed overseeing the match, they will say yes. But if one asked Cash whether they love Duelling more than Qudditchm the Prefect will say a hard no on that fact.
Cash's green eyes bounced from one side of the piste to the other. On the Gryfinddor'side both of the Duellists which is Kim Sato and Rosee Moon still alive and kicking. On the Hufflepuff's side, there is still Callista who was left standing on her own since Hades had been taken out of the match two rounds ago.
A little bit unfair. But hey! a Duel is a Duel no matter what the outcome was. "This is it, guys!"They said. "The last round for this match, round, and stage,"Cash continued."Show your inner prowess and who is the best,"The green eyes expressed. At the word, Kim Sato was the first one who pointed his wand toward one Callista Lovis.
And just like the last round, Kim meets his mark. It was quite a powerful Knockback Jinx and Cash could not help to let out a wince when the force from the spell hit Lovis square on her chest making her a bit hard to breathe as the wind got knockout out of her. "You okay there, Lovis?"They asked.
For the last few rounds, Lovis seems out of it and Cash was not sure what to do. But it seems Cash's concern did not stop Rose Moon to raised her own wand and directing it toward Callista Lovis. Parroting what Kim had done not so long ago, Rose also delivered her own Flipendo. Though the intention behind the spell was true and it was a quick one-two succession, Lovis somehow managed to avoid Rose's attack.
Cash really needs to ask Lovis how she managed to do that since if it was not some kind of magic or trickery, the young Ironwoods did not what that is. With Lovis managing to dodge Rose's assault, it signals the end of the match, round, and stage. Cash press their middle finger and thumb together and put it on under their tongue.
They let out a loud and high-pitched whistle. The whistle broke the loud noise over cheers and screams of support for the remaining Duellists who were still up on the platform. "That's it! Game, guys game!"They yelled out to stop the match. Good thing no one passed out this round and needs to be carried from the stage.
"With that being said... I proudly announce on this match, round, and stage, the house of Lion and Pride of Pendrast; GRYFFINDOR CLAIM THEIR VICTORY!"The Cuban descendant announced to the room full of people cheering and supporting their respective Duellists. "Congratulation and good game everyone!"They uttered.
Once people started trickling out from this side of the platform and Cash had made sure no one left their personal possession behind, they followed the horde of people out of the room.

For the duel to end at long last, as they had reached the 10th and final round of the match. It had been... Eye-opening to say the least. Kim had recovered from his prior loss and had come back with a vengeance. But it was kind of bittersweet, as this had been his cousin's first duel, which he'd ended up losing. Still, a duel was a duel, it had nothing to do with their friendship or family. Each one, coming from a different House meant their priorities would be to their own House. After all, members of a House had a reputation to uphold and couldn't be sidetracked by the relationships those from different Houses might share together.... He'd perfectly cast another Knockback Jinx at Callista and hit his target with a powerful blow. It hadn't been enough to knock her out but it felt satisfying to know that his skill was growing. With enough time and practice, he'd be one of the most powerful duelists the world had ever seen. At least that was what he was going for right now. Unfortunately, Rose's spell missed Callista, maybe because the latter was bound and determined not to get hit twice in a row. However, none of this changed the end result, that was guaranteed. "Good game, Rose." Kim told his partner with a nod of his head in Rose's direction. |
