ReducioKiana’s childhood is a complex one. She was born to Pierre Toussaint (her father, who attended Hogwarts as a Gryffindor) and Ayaka Nakamura, (her mother, who attended wizarding school in Japan). Both came from wealthy families. Thus, she was born into luxury though she was an anomaly of her kind. She spoke both Japanese and fluent English, though she often spoke with an awkward accent, earning her jeers and laughs from her peers at school. She vowed to rid herself of her lingering accent. As a young child she excelled in all of her classes (because of her mother’s hard work and discipline) and was always praised by her teachers for many tasks. While other kids were earning allowances for average grades, her hardworking mother would never allow anything short of an O. Even then, with her outstanding performance and beautiful face, she never quite liked her childhood. In fact, if anyone were to ask, she would simply reply that it was “miserable yet mystifying.” No one understands what she means.

Pierre and Ayaka were not a match made in heaven. Little Kiana learned that when she was nine. The rain was ruthless outside and she couldn’t sleep, so she ventured down the stairs to snuggle with her mother. She heard a conversation - a grim and stern one - between her parents. She learned something she wished she could erase from her mind: their marriage was planned. Because of her complex family relations, the parents of Ayaka and Pierre agreed that their children were to be married in order to maintain a “bloodline of prestige.” Kiana found that quite stupid, but what could she do about it now? The two were getting divorced, at their own will. Ayaka agreed.
From then on, Kiana would only get to see her mother once a week.
Went inactive for a bit and had to be reindexed, this is the in-character reason: Kiana's mother fell ill near late second year. She returned to Japan to stay by her mother's bedside and with her extended family, thus being pulled out of school by her father for an elongated period of time. She spent most of her time there grieving but fortunately, her mother survived.

ReducioIt was a sunny afternoon, bright and warm while the birds chirped enthusiastically. The weather contradicted Kiana’s mood. She was crying, a tear rolled down her cheek. Yet again, she’d failed her mother’s tests. Ayaka (her mother) often tested Kiana on magical facts way out of her level, yet Kiana couldn’t quite grasp those concepts no matter how hard she tried. Any other child would have laughed and called Kiana “sensitive and soft.” But this meant much more to her. She’d already received a tongue lashing from her mother (“don’t ever disgrace me like that again!”) and couldn’t bear to think that she’d failed again. What had she done wrong? Was she not studying enough? Did she not have what it took? To calm herself down, she focused her attention on a single leaf, just one large, green leaf, and closed her eyes. This was a technique she used often when her mother was mad. “Just focus on one object, and slowly your focus will come back to you,” she always told herself. Her bubbling anger and frustration simmered and threatened to book over the top. In only a seconds time, the leaf was magically torn to shreds.

ReducioKiana is a girl that turns heads wherever she goes. She stands at a modest height of 5'2, a considerable height and though her father wished she were a bit taller, she seemed quite content with it. Her eyes are a dark blue, icy and unwelcoming to those who didn't know her, but they betray a feeling of warmth and kindness. Her hair is her pride and joy - thick, luscious, dark locks that flew free like a waterfall from her head and tidied neatly into beautiful bangs. When she was 9 she decided to dye it purple (not a vibrant purple, but subtle enough to be noticed) much to her father’s dismay. She keeps it in a long, high ponytail regularly.

ReducioKiana has always been a girl with a strong will. She never settled for “good enough” and always strived to achieve what her parents could not. She always completed her tasks with the highest quality (a result of her mother’s discipline) and though she appeared to be tough and cold, she had a heart bigger than her chest. All of the stray animals on her street were well fed - that was all her doing. Her compassion never went unnoticed. Though, when it comes to friendship, she tends to be awkward and introverted. She can't quite understand and process her own or other people's emotions and due to her past, prefers to be alone. Solitude is the price she pays.

First Instance of Magic
ReducioTheresa first encountered magic when she was eight, about a year after she'd uncovered her passion for the stars. She'd been gazing placidly at the stars, making small maps and notes in the margins of her notebook - 'starbook' as she liked to call it. Theresa was never one to get angry easily, but this time, the telescope was getting on her nerves. It was old and rickety, never cooperating and always blurred when she touched it ever so slightly. She clenched her fists in frustration and gave the dying thing a small shove. It promptly tipped over and fell to pieces. At that moment, a single tear rolled down Theresa's cheek. Come to think of it, she did really love the telescope, no matter how old or useless it'd became. It'd accompanied her for so long - how could she break it, just like that? She knelt over and touched a cracking piece of metal, her tears cold to touch. Through her blurred vision, she could barely see anything.
After a couple of blinks, a new telescope stood before her.
Biography
ReducioTheresa Debrosse, born to Song Li-Na and Reuben Debrosse, came into being on April 17th, [year here]. She grew up with the luxuries of the upper middle class, enjoying hardcover books and comical television shows she thoroughly enjoyed as a kid. Being that her mother was Chinese (who came to England to study the law) and her father was pure-bred english (and, so it happens, a pure-blooded wizard as well), Theresa grew up as an 'anomaly,' admired and bullied as she grew up. Some marveled at her wit and beauty, while others sneered in disgust. 'A foreigner,' they would call her. Of course, as a child with a strong will, Theresa never let their empty comments get to her. She knew she had much, much more to live for. Besides, she took immense pride in her Chinese-English blood - she had long, wavy, dark-brown hair that everyone admired. She had intelligence that all of her classmates wished they had. She had integrity. She had love. She had everything she needed. So, Theresa went on with her life, without a care in the world. She had a relatively 'normal' and uneventful life - unlike a lot of the people she'd came to know over time, she didn't have a dramatic backstory or divorced parents. She simply filled her life with joy, stars, arts, and delicious desserts. At around the age of seven, she identified her first constellation. The "bei dou xing" as her mother would call it in Mandarin (which Theresa was fluent in), the Big Dipper. From that fateful day onward, her passion for the stars continued to burn.
Mental Description
ReducioTheresa is a woman of strong will, never letting anyone's negativity get to her. She always controlled her emotions very well, only letting certain emotions slide when necessary. Her anger management was never too good, but over the years she'd learned to control it. 'Anger is a weakness that you mustn't let anyone see,' her father had often told her, and so Theresa vowed to never express anger without reason. The result - a calm, composed, mature woman who always donned that winning smile and never, ever, faltered.
Physical Description
ReducioTheresa was, as many people told her, the spitting image of her mother. That was always meant as a compliment. Her mother had long, flowing black hair that looked like a waterfall and acted like one too - the way it waved in the air like crashing waves, the way the sun reflected off it and gave it an ethereal glow - what's not to love? Theresa inherited those luscious locks as well, though her hair was lighter and had a coffee-like complexion to it - she got that from her brunette father. Her skin is fair, not too milky but a health color for a human. She stands at a fair height of [height here], and though her mother wishes she were slightly taller, Theresa thinks otherwise. She finds her height perfect. After all, being too tall or too short isn't ideal either way.
Each day, she walks with pride.
