The splitting was in action once again. Delilah's powerful Confringo at this moment of duel could already be affected by various factors, including the overall tiredness. The clock was ticking and the duel was quickly coming to its end. It seemed that the splitting went a bit wrong this time. One went way past Astrea, who remained almost unharmed, if not the splinters from the blast hitting her in the thigh (again?). The other one was meant for Bridget, who took the full blast of it. That one did not add points for them and could have long-lasting effect together with the backfired Confundo in the previous round.
All in all, Bridget tried to disarm, and missed. Astrea tried Nothingulatus — a spell that was only known to few people, had to be cast wandlessly and non-verbally, and the effect of it was completely random, but in the overwhelming majority of cases (approximately 100.0000%) it ended up in nothing. This time was no different from the other. She just stood there without a single hand movement or word spoken, absorbing the damage from the incoming splinters.
Aida, who did not have a good succession of resultful rounds, reached the most unsatisfactory result. A backfire of the fire. Maybe the wand was against fire, that's why the spell always went any other way and eventually... yes, now there was one more opponent to deal against.

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 12

Aida's comedy of errors continued with a bang – or, more precisely, immolation. Ready to make up for all the missed shots at the deceptively slippery Slytherin, Aida coaxed enough fire to make the opponent burn for quite a long time. The only problem was clutching the wand so tightly that the ball of building magic blew up in Aida's own pale face.
“Aeeeeiiiii!”
What great personal problem or existential crisis was driving Aida's continuing duelling failures? Alas, it was nothing all that complex – just overwhelming themselves with urgency to perform and then losing the precision control they would have otherwise had with a calm heart.
Certainly Aida's flames hurt, but it was their pride that was the most damaged.

@Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood | @Astrea Neptune | @Bridget CollinsDelilah hissed through her teeth at Aida's spell setting themselves on fire. Thankfully Delilahs spell went well, as she dodged the spell heading towards her. She seemed to have decent luck in this duel unlike some of her previous ones, knock on wood. But just because it has been going well, doesn't mean it will keep going well...

The world was doing something like spinning, and Bridget was not here for it. She was too slow to avoid another one of Delilah's explosions, which left her skin singing and ears ringing, a more consuming pain than the sharp thud of a Flipendo or battering rush of a Ventus. What was worse, she was off her mental game. Physically she could handle this, it wasn't fun but she had been duelling for years and pain was a part of the sport.
But usually she was more on top of the situation, aware and tracking and pursuing different lines of strategy. Now her thoughts were racing trying to find the threads of those strategies, and she was slower on the dodge, weaker on the cast. Another miss, and she was hit too, rapidly shaping into something useless to her team.

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 12
Perhaps it was the sheer brutality of battle or the Vipers' present state of rough wariness, but it seemed that the state of Astrea's magic was feeling particularly testy today. The buzzing beneath her skin, electricity running through her veins, seemed to burn with a mind of its own even between her careful cultivation. The risk of casting certain spells was too great, even if the unsteady balance of control was not yet tilted out of her willpower.
They have been bargaining for higher positions since the start of the duel, yet even the wands levelled at them could do little but chip away at their endurance. Resigning herself to dodging the spells targeted at her between the imminent warning of her magic, Astrea experienced only the unexpected between a renewed wash of splintering pain - self-induced firey catastrophe and a seemingly unanswerable hit-and-miss. This was not a round to turn the tables nor one of great one-sided domination. Nay, this was but another hurdle to leap towards a noble finish.

By the clock, the duel was coming to its end. So it seemed for the duellists as well. So they went all-in.
Bridget tried to disarm the main danger in the room — Delilah, but the aim got disturbed a little, which made the spell go Aida's way (still not bad), but the elusive target evaded the spell easily, rendering Bridget's attempt void.
Astrea showed off another splitting spell — this time a basic one, as it seemed she was barely able to catch her breath. The first spell went straight into Delilah with no hesitation, but the other spell lacked accuracy and went past Aida, who already managed to evade another spell. With the spells coming in, Aida did not have a moment to extinguish the flame, which continued to burn brightly.
On the other side, the sequence of unfortunate events seemed to cleanse some karma, so the unison of incantations was heard. Aida cast Flipendo, Delilah cast Confringo. Both spells reached Astrea in the blink of Meenauh's eyes, so it wasn't clear whose spell was the finishing one. Astrea didn't stand a chance and fell unconscious. The next thing that happened — a cloud started to form above Bridget and the unconscious body of Astrea. And before Meenauh could stop the duel to drag away Astrea, a strong flash of lightning hit Bridget right away.
The duel was fierce. Meenauh quickly paused the duel, waited until Astrea was removed (oh, she would need medical attention due to her minus 150 HP or so) and resumed the duel right away for its last seconds to end as spectacular as this.

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 12

Through the searing flames, Aida thought they could hear a voice, although no one else would. It asked only softly, "what are you fighting for?" It had been a couple of years since the white wix had heard those words, once spoken by a fellow albino during one of the bleakest times of Aida's life. Now repeated in the tone of the apparition experienced long ago in the Forbidden Forest, Aida knew the question now belonged to them as well.
For future freedom, thought the wix. For others and myself.
Aida's feet seemed to dance on their own in agreement as they carried the wix out of the way of danger and into a lunging cast of the knockback jinx. The memory of a face belonging to Valentin Schnell shifted through Aida's mind: he'd said to stop thinking and just let the right action take over when it was time. With the slight dip of the ancient wand, Aida shot out a second spell and summoned a bristling lightning cloud. The stormy grey air, like Valentin, did not delay. Immediately it cracked with raw electricity and struck the last remaining opponent. Aida didn't feel anything, not relief nor thrill nor satisfaction, for in that moment the feel of the storm flowing through them was perfectly beyond human emotion.
Is this how he lives every day? wondered Aida with eyes closing and the breath of cool, ionized air filling their lungs.

@Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood | @Astrea Neptune | @Bridget CollinsAnother hiss from between Dels teeth was pulled as Astrea went down, she had somewhat hoped one of them would miss because that was a bit brutal, the last thing Astrea would've seen was the two ravenclaw just absolutely annihilating her. Poor lass. Although now Delilahs attention turned to Bridget, this duel should be over soon.

If lining up was a thing stars did, then that was not what they were doing right now. Or they were just lining up for Ravenclaw, pretty biased of them honestly. Or they were lined up, and they were for Bridget and Astrea, but they were really bad stars. Low-tier, would leave 0 stars, not recommended for wishing on.
To recap: Bridget's head was fuzzy, she was going to explode something if this did not go away except she didn't know Confringo, which would be really helpful because Delilah knew Confringo and she kept blowing them up and it really sucked. Her spell missed, again, which meant Delilah got to keep exploding things to her heart's content, or however that saying goes. She was exploding things, cool for her. Less cool was one of those things was Astrea. Bridget didn't really stand for this, because Astrea was her teammate and just objectively didn't deserve to be exploded. Not because she was super nice, she had an ice queen deal going on, but more because she was just cool, and hadn't committed any murders as far as Bridget was aware.
Astrea got kaboomed, and then the duelling equivalent of punched, except the fist was a bright blue light that's primary purpose was pain. And Astrea went down. Now, much like getting exploded, Bridget would put this on her un-bucket list. She rather liked having her teammate at her side, especially when there were still two people on the other end.
Would that be enough bad things in one day? Yeah, probably! There were more bad-energy stars, though, starting with this thing called the clock. The clock and Bridget, simply were not friends. It was much too low, and so even if she magically became a god of dodging and also landing really hard hits, she wasn't going to have enough time to make up all that ground.
The icing on the cake, once again only showing up where it was most dramatic, was lightning. Now Bridget didn't really believe in higher powers, but if she did, she should probably be pretty concerned right now. Instead she was just concerned for more mundane reasons, like that she was alone, about to lose, and also being hit with lightning really hurt. Bridget was very much winning right now, a real and true and totally unsarcastic statement.

Meenauh wanted to already stop the duel as the time was ticking, and Bridget wasn't looking that good. But it seemed the duellists were up to another swing of spells. A repeated barrage of Confringo and Flipendo by Delilah and Aida respectively was sent towards the remaining Slytherin. Bridget found the best solution to the problem — a Protego, which came handy quite in time.
Flipendo's light broke into pieces and dissipated, completely absorbed by the shield. The Blasting Curse was trickier and Bridget decided to play a bit of revenge in the last seconds of the duel — in a spectacular feat of shield control, the spell bounced back, reversing its way completely and now heading towards Delilah. The crowd might have gasped out loud by the fear of the inevitable, but Delilah managed to jump away in time and avoided the full blast of the spell. The damaged ground would jump up, and the splinters would hit her in the knees. A painful end of the duel.
The shield charm faded away and Meenauh announced the end.
"We have observed an incredible and advanced duel! And with two standing against one, the victory goes to Ravenclaw!" she proclaimed it as clear as she could to a round of applause.
She would do a formal and sincere nod to the Ravenclaw side, and one they'd get down from the stage to receive the love of the crowd, she'd come to Bridget and half-hugged and passed her hand gently over Bridget's shoulder. Meenauh considered them to become a bit closer, at least on some energy level, since their unplanned visit to the Knockturn Alley.
"Spectacular, Bridget!" she'd kindly tell her and pulled a bar of chocolate, pushing it into her hands with a wink.
RAVENCLAW WINS!
