Hades's choice was annoying to Kim.

Of course it was a good idea on Hades's part but for the person on the receiving end it was anything but that.

This spell was turning out to be a true annoyance to him. Kim didn't mind the pain, which probably had something to do with his current state of mind, but if he let it go on for a time... Well, the consequences were unfavorable. The last thing he wanted or needed was for the flames to burn away all of his clothes, leaving him completely naked to duel his opponents. Mostly because it would be embarrassing and sometimes these duels were filmed. Word could not get out about any potential 'scandals' like this. It would make headlines....

Thankfully, Kim managed to easily avoid the spell this time. Perhaps because it had come from Hades, who wasn't as skilled at this particular spell as Callista was. At the same time, Kim shot out a brilliant blue spell that he was quite familiar with at Hades. The teen's Knockback Jinx made contact with his target and Kim felt a sense of satisfaction within. Although, this feeling could not be seen outwardly on him. It came as no surprise that the Knockback Jinx had been powerful, after all it was a spell Kim had practiced consistently....

Practice makes perfect.

It only stood to reason that he would do well with this one, it was a spell he felt very comfortable with.

For a brief millisecond his expression darkened as his mind added... It was one of Sophia's favorite spells too... He glanced over at his partner as Rose's wand suddenly went flying a good distance away from her current position. For the first time since the duel started, Callista had chosen to target Rose instead of him. It came as a surprise to him because he'd thought the third year would have continued to target him for the entire duel. What was her strategy now, what was going through her mind to make her change targets now?

Well, at least he and Rose hadn't lost any life, that was something to celebrate. Plus, it seemed as if Rose wasn't phased much by having her wand be blown out of her hand by her opponent. Which meant, it probably wouldn't take long for her to get it back again. Their opponents were probably hoping she'd be out of commission for at least two rounds but Kim predicted she would recover within just one. As for Hades, Kim was glad to see that Rose's earlier spell, directed at Hades, had been successful. Now he was burning up.

Hopefully, that would distract the two badgers long enough for Kim and Rose to take them out.

doing as strategized
The momentum of the duel was rapidly shifting to the Gryffindors' side, and Callista found herself clenching her jaw in frustration. The longer the duel wore on, the faster her energy seemed to fade, and she was tempted to just wrap everything up already.

Hold on, now. Don't make any hasty decisions.

"Expelliarmus." With a swift incantation, Rose's wand flew out of their hands. The reason behind her switch in target would remain a secret for now; maybe she just wanted a change. As lovely as Kim was, surely you would get tired of looking at him for so long. Whatever the case, Calli was just glad the spell had been executed properly because Hades seemed to have far worse luck.

Two separate spells soared into the boy, and Callista winced at the sight. The flames on Kim had died out, and now it was Hades' turn to be the boy on fire. He certainly looked worse for the wear, but surely he'd be able to last for a little longer..?

Duel: Stage 2
────────────────────
He intended to cast the fire spell, and despite doing well, his rival managed to dodge it and was not injured in the process. That made him feel frustrated. And wait for the worst... Hades was struck by a spell from Kim, which caused the badger boy to say a curse addressed to who was considered a friend. This couldn’t get much worse than he had thought. They were really having problems? And since when had Hades been vulnerable? In his opinion, Kim was not at his level. Wild thinking!

At this point, it was when Rose performed the spell and realized that that girl had copied him. And he was struck again. This time he made him very angry “What a cheat!” he said, letting go his frustration. Yes, he needed to control his temper but he thought he had the situation under control. In the end, it proved he didn't. He smiled when he discovered that Rose’s wand had flown, thanks to his partner Callista. Now they had to regain the advantage, and revenge would be sweet.

Rose pointed her wand at Hades again. “Incendio,” she murmured, and as the spell flew from her wand towards her opponent, she saw Kim’s come with it. Both spells hit Hades. Rose smiled at their success. Now they were getting somewhere.

She did feel a little bad for the duelist, but it was dueling. He had signed up for this. Hades exclaimed something about her being a cheat. Rose furrowed her brow- what had she done that had been cheating? True, they had happened to cast the same spell (though Kim was able to smoothly dodge it), but that didn’t mean she had copied him. Rose rolled her eyes at his comment. He was just upset that he was losing.

As another round rolled in, the standing Duellists proved to themselves and their opponent their Duelling prowess. Well, three out of four that is. As the end of the line for today's match can be seen on the future horizon, Callista Lovis, a third-year Hufflepuff, did not waste her time for one bit. Pointing her wand toward Kim Sato with determination.

With an expert of any other Duellist at her age, Calli had flung the Slowing Charm at the second-year Gryffindor. It was almost a miss hit but at the last second, Kim was too slow to dodge the incoming attack. And thus, Calli managed to hit her intended target. Perhaps the second time was the charm but if only Hades' spell worked alongside him.

Choosing the same spell and the same target, Hades Schweighöfer had flown the Fire-Making spell II at Kim Sato's way. Called it intuition or perhaps Kim was tired to get burned one too many times, he knew by his heart the wand movement for any kind of fiery spell. And when the jet of fire was emitted from Hades' wand coming toward the youngest out of the four, Kim jumped out of the way before the spell could ever hit him.

It was a risque move for one Rose Moon. But a wand was like an extended hand for any witch or wizard. Spells had flung left and right around her but Rose was determined to search and take ahold of her wand. After she crawled around the stage for awhile while praying no one targeted her, Rose finally succeeded in finding her wand and it did not take her that long to find her prize possession.

If one doubted why the Sorting Hat had put Kim into the house of the brave Gryffindor, Cash would suggest they come and take a look at today's Duelling matches. While Rose Moon crawled all over the piste to search and take a hold of her wand again, Kim heroically held the fort. Zeroing his eyes at his friend? Enemy? Who cares! Kim Sato wanted to try his luck once again.

It seems repeating spells was today's match theme. Just like what Hades did, Kim Sato also used the spell that he shot toward the fourth-year badger Hades Schweighöfer not so distance ago. Who said lightning doesn't strike the same place twice, had not met Kim Sato's Duelling prowess. With a flamboyant, flourish of spell incantation and wand movement for the Knockback Jinx, Kim once again successfully sends the spell toward Hades's way.

Unlike the last round where Kim shot the spell that could hurt Hades, this time around the force behind Kim's Flipendo was not enough to put Hades out of the equation and down on the ground. A hit was a hit. But as long as the last round has not rolled in yet, the tide still could turn anytime. From the looks of it, favor and odd were on the Gryffindor's side. So far, anyway.

Rose cast her eyes around the stage. Two spells rushed towards Kim, and he was able to dodge one of them easily. The other one hit him, slowing his movements. Rose recognized it, and she had to admit it was a good strategy. Rose spied her wand and quickly grabbed it from the floor, retaking her position. Being left without a wand was not a calming experience- it made her feel pretty helpless, actually. She glanced over at Kim. His hit had been a success, but only barely. It didn't seem to do as much damage as it usually would.

Hang in there.

Kim heard Hades's outburst.

But the teen wasn't really in the mood to mess with him, as Kim needed to focus on casting his own spells.

The last thing he needed was to be distracted by others. Thankfully, his partner was doing very well with him. Kim was satisfied with how the two of them worked together and wouldn't have minded pairing up with her again in the future. He wondered if Rose was aiming to become a Healer in the future. If she was, he thought she'd have a good shot at making it, her healing spells were actually pretty good and she seemed to have some skill with them. Round 7 came about and Kim wasn't surprised by the actions of the Hufflepuffs...

Both of them had focused their attention on him again. It was the same old story and Kim prepared himself to dodge again. Unfortunately, this time he wasn't so lucky, even though his evasion skills were extremely good, he couldn't avoid Callista's spell. The only good news was that it didn't hurt him and he wasn't burning, which was a relief. The bad news was that she'd cast a slowing spell on him, which was rather annoying. Kim didn't like moving slow at all, unless he was trying to procrastinate, or had a reason to do so...

He'd never been one to move slow.

So this was going to make him a bit frustrated, but it was better than burning up again.

A sigh escaped his lips as he tried to move his arm and leg but both appendages moved as if something was sticking to them. Yup, it was going to be hard to move fast like this. He might be able to dodge one spell but not two spells. Hopefully, they could take out their opponents before things got too bad for them. But maybe luck was on their side, there were only three rounds left now. If they could take out Hades and then attack Callista together, they had a chance to win this match! It really would be a good time for Gryffindor to win...

It might help prove he wasn't cursed. But Kim wasn't going to think about it too much, after all the tides could always change. Regardless, the result of this match would determine his current chaotic state and either make it even more chaotic, or help settle it down a little. Kim glanced over in Rose's direction and made eye contact with her, trying to telepathically communicate, even though it wasn't something he could do. Sometimes just eye contact could convey things though and he hoped she understood. She had her wand.

That was all that mattered, and now they would have their revenge!

Duel: Stage 2
────────────────────
The duel was moving slowly. And that seemed a little frustrating because he wanted to finish it as soon as possible. He watched as his housemate Callista performed the spell, and this time he would not be surprised if Kim managed to dodge it. But no. He was definitely hit. That made him smile “Well done Calli.” he said with a smile, trying to offer her all his support. They needed to take back what was lost, and move on to the next round. Unfortunately... He didn't hit Kim.

How was it possible? If Kim was only a kid, and as far as Hades remembered, he was not as courageous as he would have shown in this duel “We have to win at all costs.” Hades said to Callista, as he watched as Rose tried to grab his wand. That’s when Kim cast the spell, and hit Hades but not so hard “This must be a joke! This fool can dodge me but I can’t dodge this dumbass?” he asked, thinking whether Gryffindor’s had used cheating. He was furious.

Two more rounds were around the corner and the Duel match for this stage will be over soon. The slot for today's match was only an hour but Cash felt like it took ages to get up to this point. The Duelling Co-Captain for the Slytherin team tried to suppress their yawn. It was not that the match was dull and lack of action, no, it was the opposite of that.

But Cash just wants this match to get over soon. Once again Cash tried to swallow down their tired yawn. Their eyes and head still need to get into the game since the Duel was not over. Seizing the opportunity and since Hades barely hang on by the thread, Kim Sato jutted out his trusted wand and pointed out toward the fourth-ear Hufflepuff, Hades Schweighöfer.

With a good amount of force of his spell-casting, Kim had sent a decent blow in the form of Flipendo. Perhaps it was Kim's way of retaliation for being hit one too many times and he had had enough of it. The end of Hades' uniform started to burn and the fire will slowly travel up. Meanwhile, Rose Moon did not too far from her partner.

Seeing the window of opportunity was opened, the redhead Gryffindor that used to be Cash's friend also slings her own brand of attack. Taking for their last page both Kim and Rose attacked Hades with Knockback Jinx and the Fire-Making Spell II at the same time. As the Incendio Duo hit Hades Schweighöfer with great force, the boy was out of the competition and the equation.

But before Rose Moon successfully delivered her lethal blow, Hades Schweighöfer also succeeding heal himself but it was not enough to make the boy stand on his own two feet and continued with the match. "Time out, time out!"Cash made a cross gesture in front of their chest and bumping it against one another softly while speaking in Spanish to signal the remaining Duellists to take a breather before the next round will continue.

The Cloud Cobras' Beater stepped onto the platform and asked one of the house elves to step into the piste for them to take Hades out of the stage and from harm's way. Once Hades was no longer up on the stage, Cash nodded their head for them to continue. But it seems once again Callista Lovis was under a trance since she just stand there and do nothing

Perhaps if she did something and got Hades' back, the older boy still got a fighting chance. But oh well, what was done was done and Cash only hope Callista will broke out from her reverie soon.

Kim tried to move again.

The slowness effect seemed to be wearing off, all that remained was to see what his opponents would do.

After all, even though the smart move would be to heal up, they could always try and go for a more risky move. Such as both of them attacking him and putting everything into offense, rather than defense. There was a chance if they did that, they might be able to take him out with Hades at the same time. Regardless, it wasn't looking good for Hades, he seemed to barely be holding on. Therefore, Kim wasn't surprised when Hades took the chance to try and heal himself instead of attacking, which was a success, albeit a small one....

What did surprise him was how Callista seemed to have frozen up, but it was a stroke of luck for Gryffindor. Kim took advantage of this opportunity to direct his spell at Hades again. The wand in his hand felt as if it was a part of his body as he spoke the incantation for the Knockback Jinx. This time, he knew it would land and that the hit would be a good one. Not the impaired one that had happened before. This one was a good one. The lovely blue jet of light came out of his wand and found its target, landing a solid hit on the Badger....

Kim glanced over at his partner.

Rose had done well on her own too. She'd cast the Fire-Making Spell and had also hit Hades with it.

Their combined attack on Hades was too much for the poor Badger to stand and as Cash signaled a temporary halt to the match. Kim waited for Hades to be taken away by the house elves and let his sight settle on the lone opponent standing between them and the win. He actually hadn't expected to win because of everything that had happened lately in his life but now... it was actually seeming as if they had a real shot at winning the match. Callista against him and Rose. It would be interesting and potentially be quite a battle.

Even if Kim got taken out, hopefully Callista wouldn't remain at full health. Kim was sure he'd be able to at least deal some damage to her before getting taken out himself, if she targeted him. And if Rose was also able to do so, it would end with Callista having less health than Rose, which would be to Gryffindor's advantage. After all, there were only two rounds left and whoever had the highest percentage of health remaining on their team would win if it came down to 1v1. Perhaps he'd been wrong and he wasn't cursed as he'd thought.
