Valentines Ball

-----An ancient, dusty grandfather clock outside the lavatory struck 6 signaling to the duo that the ball would be second again from allowing guests entry. Leaving most of their belongings in the lavatory, the girls were giggling as they walked to the entryway of the ballroom. Music echoed loudly outside into the hall, and it was clear to see they both were excited to go in. House elves took their tickets with some of the set-up committee standing tall behind them greeting guests as they walked in.
Everyone was so well-dressed causing Caoimhe to feel slightly out of place; with only having what she could carry from her dorm, Caoimhe was not as accessorized as she could have been. Her dress, despite it matching the theme, almost looked too casual!
With Anna at her side, however, Caoimhe didn't have any regrets and quite honestly had a blast getting ready with her - the two girls stood there beautifully but blinded by the red, pink and white overhead lights that danced around the room. When her eyes adjusted the the room, there was much to do and couldn't place a finger on what Caoimhe wanted to do first.
Seeing all of her favorite foods caused her stomach to grumble, but the large crowd caused her to be slightly nervous and lose her appetite. It wasn't often she felt nervous; the feeling was strange indeed, but it was clear to see who came from rich families, that's for sure.
Anna's voice interjected the music that rang in her eardrum, but it was still quite difficult to hear the girl. Caoimhe looked into the direction of Anna's finger seeing a bracelet-making station; it'd be fun to make a matching memento with Anna, but Caoimhe was still struck seeing many faces whom she'd never met before, and a small handful of those she did know. Caoimhe exchanged waves with some of her other friends into the distance. She expected to see Duvessa here with Elira, but only saw Elira with another group. Odd.
"Umm, you decide! I'm down for whatever," Caoimhe said leaning in to speak into her ear with a smile.

| ─── | It was February 17th, 2023.
The day of the Valentine's Ball that was being held at Hogwarts by a group of students. Kim was wearing a deep red hanbok with black sleeves and silver trim. A pair of black slacks completed the outfit and made him look quite dashing, but he'd always been attractive. A hanbok was a traditional styled Korean outfit which was usually worn for special occasions and as a ball, this qualified as one. Kim usually only wore these types of clothes for pureblood celebrations. But he'd decided to break in the outfit a bit more. After all, it was a Valentine's celebration ball, why not use the same outfit he'd worn for the V-errand? He didn't originally intend on participating in this ball but at the same time he also didn't want to be the only one not going to it. After all, even if he didn't want to participate, he didn't want to be left out of the loop either. Information was knowledge and knowledge led to connections. Lurking and skulking in the shadows to get said information vs going there and participating to get the same end result... which was easier? Obviously, the latter was. Therefore, that was why he was going and why he couldn't miss out on the V-event. A sigh escaped his lips. Over the past few days things had been getting more chaotic and complicated for him. Some misunderstandings had occurred and other crap had happened and Kim wouldn't be surprised if even more stuff took place over the next few months. It almost seemed as if everything was out to get him lately, but that could also just be a side-effect of not getting much sleep too. Makeup made everything better, it hid the dark spots beneath his eyes and made it seem as if he was in great health. Despite things seeming as if they were good for him, Kim was literally falling apart inside. Which in turn was slowly spreading outward.... Eventually, his physical body would start to show signs too. Unless he managed to turn things around in time. But the likelihood of that happening was slim since he wasn't the type to ask for help from others. Even if they offered help, Kim would most likely reject their offer. He was the independent type, the loner type, the type that liked to keep things to himself and deal with them on his own. It was getting harder to cope with things and Kim felt as if he had no one to grieve with. The only ones he'd been truly close to were gone... Sophia. Juniper. Draven. Noah. Even Precious, Colin and Pax had drifted away from him after the summer had come and gone. Rabbit was no longer around either... it wasn't as if they had been close but they had shared a special connection... even if he wouldn't ever admit it out loud to anyone, even to himself. It was a complicated relationship. There were only 3 others who he felt understood him a bit in the present time. Gia, Eun-ji and Puffie. Gia was his childhood friend and Eun-ji was his best friend's fiance. He felt closer to them than to anyone he'd met at Hogwarts so far, with the exception of those who were now gone or had drifted far away. And Puffie... well, he didn't know what he'd have done without Puffie. He'd probably have disintegrated and lost his sanity if he hadn't had Puffie with him all this time. Speaking of which, Kim glanced up to see the pink puffball sitting on top of his shoulder as usual and a faint smile came to his lips. It was rare to see him smile nowadays and only Puffie could make it happen now. He reached up and gently scratched his pet's head in an affectionate manner. Puffie squeaked happily and leaned into the touch, eliciting a brief chuckle. "Let's head to the party, Puffie." Kim murmured. And off they went to a social gathering Kim would have much preferred to have skipped if possible. Upon arriving at his destination, Kim glanced around the area. There were already a bunch of people there, which didn't bode well for his nerves. However, he tried to distract himself by letting his blue eyes flicker around the room, admiring all the decorations. Since it was a ball, Kim hadn't brought anything to eat this time. He didn't want to go overboard with food and drink when there were probably more than enough things there. The large hanging piñata caught his eye. What a fun idea! It would be interesting to watch later. He'd brought his satchel with him but intended on leaving it somewhere inside the room near his seat. Carrying it with him everywhere would be strange, who went to a ball with a satchel and ended up wearing it throughout the entire ball? As Kim's gaze swept across the room, he noticed a table that looked as if it had some crafts on it to make homemade things. He could see paper. Cards perhaps? There was also yarn too. Jewelry or something maybe? Kim decided to go create some things, as it would give the teen a good excuse. To avoid talking to people. Kim made his way over to the table and took a seat, reaching out to grab some red and white yarn. He also took some paper, a quill and some red, white and black colored ink. Setting them aside, he got to work with the yarn, which would probably take the least amount of time. Twisting the yarn together and braiding it, Kim worked to bring it together and quickly ended up making a bunch of bracelets. The bracelets were relatively simple, they were only colored yarn and nothing else, which made it easy and fast to make. Placing them into his satchel for safekeeping, Kim returned his attention to his next creation. The V-cards.... On the front of the paper he'd folded to make into a card, he drew some hearts all connected with countless rose stems. Of course, there were roses present too but not as many as the hearts. He filled the hearts in with red ink and used the white ink to draw the outline of the heart, which had originally been drawn with black ink. As for the rose stems, he made them green and the roses were outlined in pink, red and white colors. When Kim was done, he put all the cards he'd just made into his satchel except for one, as he'd be using one. Removing one of the bracelets, he set it onto the table. Punching a tiny hole into the back of the card, he threaded the bracelet through the hole and then secured it. Closing the card, it looked a little lumpy with the bracelet inside. But he'd made sure it wouldn't fall out, which was all that mattered. The front of the card had Bailey Glade's name on it, as she had asked him to go with her to the ball as her friend. Kim assumed it was because she couldn't find a date, so he'd agreed to help her out until things changed. Picking up the finished card with the gift inside, Kim placed it carefully into his inner pocket of his outfit. Standing up, he made his way over to the buffet table to check out the food there... |

Valentines Ball
This was it. Today was the day that Asher has been waiting for, and for better or for worse, it finally came. Valentines Day was never a special occasion for Asher and he never really cared about love or any of that stuff as far as he was concerned, that was all thrown out the window when he met Adya. He was considerably uneasy and for good reason, not only was he going to go to a ball (which was nerve-wracking in of itself), Adya had also been avoiding him for the past couple of days. He was sure he hadn't done anything that would upset her so he was thoroughly confused as to why she didn't want to face him, thankfully he didn't let his self-crippling thoughts bring him down or plant doubt, he was sure that Adya wasn't the type of person that would just go and stand him up, besides he also appreciated her actually avoiding him since he wasn't so sure he would be able to speak two words before he ran away from her himself.
He checked his outfit one last time before he makes his way to the ball, he wore a simple enough attire that was picked by his father and mother, he had no fashion sense whatsoever when it comes to picking good looking stuff, he just winged it when it comes to his clothes by just wearing what he likes. He readjusted the suit once more, then finally made his way to the ball, more nervousness was settling into him with every step he took towards the ball. That's when he saw her and all of his previous emotions were spent under the rug by her sight.
He almost couldn't recognize her with how beautiful she looked. The outfit she wore was gorgeous, yet simple in a way that could only suit Adya. Asher manged to shake the surprise before making his way to Adya, it wouldn't be any good to have his date waiting, would it? God even thinking about Adya as his date almost seemd like nothing but a very good dream that he was waiting to be waked up from, that doesn't mean he won't make the most out of it though. "Hey, Adya. I hope I didn't keep you waiting for long" and he really did, it would be the absolute worst impression for her to have of him when things had been going smoothly ever since he asked her to the ball, minus the whole being ignored part.

Valentines Ball
The Valentines Ball. It was beautiful, the candles and rose petals and other luxurious decorations brought everything together. Daphne's birthday had passed, she was officially 12 years old and older than some of her fellow first years. She felt sort of...responsible now, like she needed to set a good example for others now. Daphne had originally planned to go to the ball with David Howard but she had seemingly lost contact with him, which had made her pretty upset. She had been confused too, they were just friends so why had she felt so empty inside? They were only first years, any feelings she had was surely just nonsense. Whether or not that was the case, thinking that made everything hurt less. Daphne didn't need to worry about that though, she had her friend Rita, who she was going with to the ball. Rita could've chosen anyone but she had asked her, and she couldn't be happier. Rita was one of the first people she had met here, and was grateful about their friendship despite only meeting her a few times. And so as a gift, she had bought Embraco for Rita. She had gave her parents money and asked in a letter to buy it at Diagon Alley and send it here by owl.
For her birthday, her mother had sent her a custom dress, one that made her look like a forest princess. The gown was made out of rich fabric, decorated with petals and even had fairy wings on the back. After looking around a bit, she caught sight of Rita, heading over to her happily. She recognized some other people at the ball, friends and clubmates mainly. Daphne decided she would just ignore the whole 'love' theme of Valentines and just focus on the ball and having fun! "Rita! You look amazing, how are you?" She asked while holding her gown in order not to trip on it as she approached her. Daphne looked at the flowers that Rita was holding, and smiled, not knowing it was for her. "Oh did someone give you those? You have a secret admirer?" Daphne teased before revealing the teddy bear from her behind her back. "This is Embraco! Every 3 hours it will give you a hug."

Valentines Ball
While Rita was waiting in the ballroom and enjoying some chocolate and cookies, the Second Year Hufflepuff beater with short straight black hair and a pair of yellow glasses noticed more people coming, and particularly, her partner to the Valentine`s Ball, @Daphne Sapphirus. Daphne said hi to the Second-Year first-string beater of Hufflepuff Quid team, and also brought Rita a teddy bear called Embraco, which was a really sweet action. "Daphne also asked me whether that flower is sent by some secret admirer, but little does she know it is just for her! I don`t know if a bouquet of flowers in a great change for a teddy bear, but still..." The black-haired Second Year Hufflepuff beater thought.
"Hi, Daphne! Happy belated Valentine`s Day! Thanks for your nice words and the teddy bear, you look stunning today too!" Rita finally replied to her younger housemate as the Second Year Hufflepuff beater handed the flowers to the other Hufflepuff girl, "No, I don`t have a "secret lover", these flowers are just for you! Thank you for being one of my very first friends and sharing too much valuable and interesting knowledge about magical creatures to me! Anyway, excited for the Valentine`s Ball?" The Second Year Hufflepuff beater showed a bright smile at her younger housemate when she finished her speech and waited for the other badger girl to reply. Meanwhile, the Hufflepuff beater would continue to eat the piece of cookie on her hand and continue to expect for the activities at this ball to officially start.Open to other interactions!Reducio

For those used to seeing Howard roaming about the school, most would surely have to do a double take as the dhampir walked arm in arm with Bloom towards the Ballroom. Gone was the persistent outfit of his white dress shirt, black and yellow tie, and of course his Hogwarts robes. In its place...an obscene amount of red. Yes indeed, for once in his life Howard White had dressed for the occasion. A few sickles had been enough to convince a fellow Hufflepuff to bewitch his only suit (a black one of course) to appear red for the Valentine occasion. What could possibly drive the young man to do something so ludicrous? The young woman on his arm of course. Nothing could wipe the smile from his face this evening as they walked together. His heart so full of love for his Ravenclaw queen that he would even partake in the cheesiest of holidays.
"Shall we?" Howard asked Bloom with a wink while gesturing towards the Ballroom entrance. As the pair crossed the threshold, his crimson eyes were bombarded with whites, pinks and reds. "Woah, they really went for it, yeah? At least I fit in?" He added with a tug at his suit collar and a wag of his brow. As his eyes scanned the room he would see rather festive looking pińata to his right. "Oh yeah! I want a shot at that for sure!" Howard called out to Bloom. Any excuse to whack something really. As tempting as that was, the smell of food would soon waft his way and being the bottomless pit that many teenaged boys were, one could say he was enticed. Though memories of the last ball would soon follow his urge to gorge. Howard's eyes went from the food table, back to bloom and then back to the table. "You don't think it would happen again, do ya?" She would surely know what he spoke of. Then of course a giant white tree standing at the far end of the hall surely caught his eyes as well. They would definitely need to scope that out as well.
"What do you think, love? What's first?" Let another Hogwarts ball begin!

Valentines Ball
The little heart of hers thumped with every stretchy second. It felt like forever as the dark eyes without a break kept scanning around, in search of her favourite boy if he's within her eyeshot. The corner of her lips curled down as the hope in her drained drop by drop. The arrival of the number of people made it obvious that it wasn't late. Regardless, Adya stood there worried stiff. Her gaze darted back to the chocolate bar in hand. Sighing, " I doubt he's coming, don't worry I'll eat you" she murmured to the chocolate bar with a long face.
The moment her fingers were about to tear open the wrapper, Adya lifted her head. Her mouth dropped open at the sight in front of her. There he was, standing in front of her cutely?- handsomely?- she couldn't fit him into those simple words anymore. And damn! That voice! It felt like an eternity since she last heard it even though it was just a handful of days in count. On top of all, Asher is in a suit! The worries in her eyes vanished away out and out where the glimmering smile that was reserved for Asher alone remained. The smile that was a perfect blend of admiration, craze and genuineness as she had an eyeful at him.
The realisation hit her. All the while she gawked at him like a statue, her hands still, ready to tear open the wrapper. Swallowing the heavy lump in her throat, "No- I- I got this for you" she waved the bar before handing it out to him. Looking down at her camera, with her voice low, "- I thought you won't come Ash" she fiddled with her camera belt before tilting her head up at him. Asher didn't breathe a word about the letter.
Should she be happy or worried about it? Maybe he changed his mind. Maybe he just wants to stay as her friend and not more. Maybe he got bored of her. Maybe the letter was too much to take. Maybe he's attending the ball to keep his word. Regardless of all the maybes, he is here, with her! That is all matters at the moment. Adya faked a bright smile that barely matched the last, " Let's go" she intertwined her fingers with his and walked into the ballroom.
As they made their way into the ballroom, Adya took a glimpse around her. For the first time in her existence, valentine's theme didn't irk her but brightened her mood where she clicked a couple of photos. A slight smile of wonder was directed to the organisers of the ball. A bit wider at the prefect @Cassandra Ironwoodsand the hot head slytherin @Irina Sousawhen she noticed them. For a day, she can try her best to not annoy them even though how tough it can be, given their response to her. As she noticed her dorm mate @Caoimhe Kyle, 'Asher actually came and isn't angry at me' she mouthed as she waved her hand. Adya turned around to Asher, "What's first?- What's first?" even though her look lingered longer at the piñata. "Oh- wait-" Adya moved quite further from the Gryffindor and squinted her eye as clicked a picture of him.

Today is the day. After so many grinding and grueling days between their school days, finally, the Valentine's Ball that Cash and the other committee had discussed for the last month, finally happened. Cash was not usually all lovey-dovey when it came down to anything related to the month of love.
For them, Valentine's Day was and is overrated but ironically they volunteered themselves to be one of the committee. Cash never took charge in some sort of unofficial Ball but they were willing to try new things. They also had taken in-charge of the food and beverage that will be served during the ball.
Before this very day come, Cash had asked one Hanako Tone to be their date. No. To accompany them to the school function. Accompany is a much safer word for the green eyes than taking the annoying gnome as their date. Turned out asking the walking hobbit was both gruesome and terrifying for the Beater.
It was too much work to put in but Cash was hoping that Tone agrees to accompany them. But even if the small dwarf did not show his nose, Cash will still own the place and the event like the badass that they were. And so, after the last class had ended, Cash marched toward their own dorm. Before this very day, Cash had owl back home to send them something in the color theme of red, pink, or white.
Their mother had been delighted that Cash was willing to put on more colorful colors than what they usually did. After Cash had taken a quick shower, they put on their Valentine's Ball dress. The pink dress that Cash wore was light and flowy. They felt like a princess which was not Cash accustomed to.
Once they put on the earring which, again, was not something Cash wore on a daily basis, they walked out from their dorm and toward the school kitchen. Checking the last-minute preparation for all the food, beverages, and desserts that they had prepared for the occasion. After they deemed all the food, beverages, and desserts worthy to be served, they asked some help from the school elves to bring it to the Ballroom where the event would take place.
As soon as Cash stepped foot into the Ballroom, they place all the necessities items on the food and beverages table. They take a good look at their surrounding. The room had been transformed into the color theme of the ball. They then marched towards Sousa. "Everything in order?"They asked as their form of greeting.
Once Sousa confirms it, Cash will walk around the room. Ready to fix anything that was out of order. If there was any, anyway.

Valentines Ball
Jessicah sat in her dorm room putting the finishing touches on her latest invention, when she saw the clock on the wall. She was extremely late! Jessicah put in the final gear and the little box started to play her new favorite song “Dance With Me” by “Topline Addicts” as she quickly put on the pink dress she made and her favorite pair of shoes. She really hoped it was good enough for @Azael Faire. Jessicah was really nervous, in fact just the thought of all this was causing her to hyperventilate! But at least she was going with Azzy, who has been so kind to her. Jessicah’s hair was curly and her makeup was intricate. She really hoped that she got it all right because none of the other girls would help her. As the song came to an end, Jessicah left the dorm room to go to the dance.
As she walked into the ballroom she gazed around at all the different decorations and smiled. All of the couples were all so nicely dressed and already dancing, she really hoped that Azzy didn’t think she ghosted them. Jessicah ran into the middle of the room as the music played and searched for her date, trying to fight back the tears. She pulled her wand out of her purse to attempt the Lumos charm to try and show Azzy where she was, when she saw them. The very sight of Azzy in that dress took her breath away, immediately Jessicah felt underdressed. She ran up to Azzy excitedly. “I am so so so sorry I’m late,” she said, “am I too late for a dance?”
As she walked into the ballroom she gazed around at all the different decorations and smiled. All of the couples were all so nicely dressed and already dancing, she really hoped that Azzy didn’t think she ghosted them. Valentines Ball

It had been two days since his break up with Kim... Despite that happening Damion had found himself going to the Valentine's Day Ball with Hades. Well he walked in with Hades. He was happy that he had found Hades. He looked at Hades trying to hide the sadness he was still feeling.
He smiled though he was close to tears. A part of him knew that there was a chance that he would bump into Kim here. But he was not going to focus on that and was going to focus more on his own date, Hades.
Walking inside the ballroom he was plagued with the memory of being there for one of Kim's clubs that he was a part of. The Fashion Club. He shook his head to let that memory pass him by. He didn't want to think about Kim right now. He was trying to get over Kim. He noticed Kim there but he was not going to go ahead and meet him or interact with him. He turned to Hades and said "Let me get us some drinks" Getting some drinks would be a good distraction for him. He got himself a cup of fruit punch and got Hades a cup of Vanilla Milkshake. He handed the Vanilla Milkshake to Hades and sipped his own drink looking at Hades.
Damion was avoiding people that reminded him of Kim. Which meant that he was going to avoid Baily for a while till he was comfortable with the fact that Kim and Damion were over and done. He didn't want to be around Bailey for the time being. He looked at Hades and smiled. "What do you wanna do?" He asked looking at him. "Dance?" He shrugged at his own suggestion.
