Take Two - Open Mouth, REMOVE Foot
AngelFyre waited patiently, staring out the floor to ceiling windows. She had gotten there early as she had been the one to make the invitation, so it was only right she should already be there if Rita Su decided to take her up on her offer. It had been at the forefront of AngelFyre's mind, long before the Step Towards Unity Meeting had even concluded the evening before, that she intended to approach both Rita Su and Charlie Jacobsen to apologize to each. There were different reasons for... and different degrees of... the upset feelings she had been responsible for causing both girls during the meeting, but she truly hoped to make amends to each of them. If they would allow it. As she felt the most overall damage she had caused had been directed at Rita Su, AngelFyre felt she should most definitely start with Rita Su first.
She left the meeting with Simon that night, and the two spent hours late into the evening in the Common Room discussing everything that had transpired, but before they had even gotten to their Common Room, AngelFyre had insisted on a detour to the Owlery, and had dragged her handsome Hufflepuff to the tower with her. Once there, she grabbed some parchment from her satchel and borrowed her hunk's self-inking quill as she seemed to have worn down yet another of her quills.
The note was short and to the point.

I would like a chance to apologize and speak with you further about the events that took place in the Step Towards Unity Meeting this evening. If you are willing, I will be in the Classroom on the Second Floor, tomorrow at 10:00 am, waiting for you. I truly am sorry and hope to see you there.

P.S. If the possibility of mending fences is not enough of a draw for you, be advised that that particular classroom offers the best opportunities to see the Great Lake's Giant Squid!
AngelFyre did not even shift from one leg to the other as she directed her steady gaze on the Great Lake and patiently waited... hoping. Hoping Rita Su would show up and also hoping for even the tiniest glimpse of Herman, a nickname Simon had given the giant squid.

It was Jan 28th, just a day after the extremely chaotic unity errand. When thinking back on the thing happened yesterday, Rita`s heart was still filled with guilt and some horror. The Second Year Hufflepuff that normally did not cry much had released all of her feelings by a big cry in the girl`s lavatory right after the unity meeting that afternoon, then when the black-haired Hufflepuff beater returned to her plant palace dorm that evening, she found an owl had delivered a letter to her, which was lying beside the window.
Rita opened the letter that night and found out AF actually also wanted to have an individual talk with her, and the Hufflepuff girl with long wavy light-brown hair has scheduled a meeting between the two of us in the classroom at 10 am the next day for some apology and further individual talk. "AF also mentioned the giant squid in the great lake, which I actually know nothing about, but we will say then! Let me just stop thinking and hit the sack now, it is getting lake and we will see how everything going tomorrow. Maybe AF and I can even become friends!" The Second Year Hufflepuff beater thought when she read the letter before hitting the sack the evening before the meeting.
After a night`s sleep, tomorrow finally came. After a quick breakfast and some homework time in my plant palace dorm, Rita decided to go out and meet AF in the classroom at 9:50. The weather was still a bit older since it was still in the winter, so the Second Year Hufflepuff beater put on a warm coat to keep her warm.
When Rita arrived at the classroom, the Second Year Hufflepuff found out AF was already waiting patiently waiting for her in the empty room. "Hi, AF. I wish you are feeling great today, and the thing happened yesterday does not affect you too much. Actually, I suppose I should apologize to you first. Again, I am terribly and genuinely sorry for my inconsiderate words about you and Simon at the unity errand discussion group, I sincerely hope you will accept my sincere apology." The Second Year Hufflepuff beater waved slightly and bowed to show the honesty in her apology and waited for AF to respond to her. Deep down, Rita really wanted to reconnect with her fellow Second Year housemate, and really did not want this particular conflict to lead to dissection between the Second-Year badger girls.

I know you do not really know me, other than by sight in a few classes and in passing in the Common Room, but I promise you that my outburst at you yesterday was most uncharacteristic of me. I really am generally extremely slow to anger. It was just a most unfortunate confluence of events that had me erupt as I did."
AngelFyre moved away from the large windows and to one of the desks, taking a seat. She motioned to Rita to take one as well, turning her desk around so that they could face one another as they spoke. "I learned something about myself, and one of those things is that I can apparently be just a wee bit protective of my boyfriend. You, unfortunately, were the first to ever really cross me on anything that I felt put him in danger, and it all just tumbled out of me before I really knew it was happening... or more precisely.... to the extent that it was happening. I can honestly say to you that the second I took my seat on the sofa after it had happened, all I wanted to do was to run over to you and give you a hug for having been so abominable to you and scaring you so badly. That is what I am most sorry about. Scaring you."
AngelFyre found she had been leaning forward, apparently, while speaking, and when she came to the end of her apology, she was as far over the desk as she could be, short of tipping it over. It was her body language subconsciously reaching out to the other girl sitting across from her, she supposed, so she took a deep breath in and exhaled slowly. She leaned back in her seat and smiled at Rita. "I do not know that I want to wipe our slate entirely clean of yesterday's events because I think there were valuable lessons for both of us there, but what I would very much like to have happen from this point forward is to explore, if you are willing to do so, the possibility of getting to know one another better without yesterday's nastiness discoloring too significantly our views of one another. What do you say? Is that something you think you might be interested in pursuing? I mean, I do not know about you, but I can never have too many friends," and she smiled encouragingly towards Rita.

Rita was glad that her Second-Year housemate AF not only accepted her black-haired housemate`s apology, but also made her own apology. It seemed that AF also wanna reconnect with her housemate of the same year by asking if there is a possibly that they could get to know each other better. Maybe they could even become friends! "And AF said Simon is her boyfriend? Simon did mention about girlfriend before, and I am pretty sure they are really sweet together! But when would I get a boyfriend? Anyway, I believe I will get one eventually, it`s just a matter of time!" The black-haired Second Year Hufflepuff beater thought.
"I also accept your apology and I agree that unity errand discussion yesterday was an important lesson learned for both of us! And as for reconnecting with each other, we are on the same page! I really don`t want that conflict yesterday to negatively affect our relationship and maybe we can get to know each other and become friends! I also cannot have too many friends!" The Second Year Hufflepuff first-string beater finally replied to AF.
"So, how about we start with the giant squid in the great lake you mentioned to me in the note? Can I also pay a look to it?" Rita showed AF a friendly smile after she drew a question to start their conversation, hopefully her housemate would not mind that and that could be a starting point for the development of their friendship after that argument.

"The honest to goodness truth is that I do not know for a fact that there actually is a giant squid in the lake. I have never seen it. I do not know anyone who has ever seen it, including Simon, but what I do know is that the Hogwarts staff and administrators do not want any of us swimming in the Great Lake and I have heard the reason for that is primarily due to the existence of the Giant Squid."
"Simon told me that this room supposedly has the best viewing possibilities for seeing it, and since he is a Prefect and knows so much more about this school than I do, I can only take his word for it. If he told me, I know he at least believes it must be true. He would never fib to me about such a silly thing." She moved next to Rita and earnestly began to look toward the water for any sign of Herman.
"I have to wonder though. Would it not make sense if Herman really existed that someone here would have seen it? I mean, since you are also a second year student and did not even know about the squid until today, that must mean no one has talked of seeing it in your presence. It leads me to think that lake is really scary deep orrrrrrr Herman is Hogwarts' answer to the Loch Ness monster. Either way, I find it terribly intriguing."

Rita followed AF as her housemate of the same year with long wavy light-brown hair got up from her seat and moved to window to see the so-called giant squid and listened carefully as AF began to explain more about the mystery of that squid, named Herman, according to AF and Simon. AF`s story telling made Rita question if that giant squid was some kind of folklore that surrounded the school, since it seemed to that the black-haired Second Year Hufflepuff beaterthat there was so much thing that was mysterious and unknown to her about Hogwarts and magical world in general, especially as muggle born wizard who barely any knowledge of the magical world prior to had attending Hogwarts. There seemed to be so many things in the magical world that the Hufflepuff first-string beater with short straight black hair had yet to learn.
"Honestly, I had never heard anything about the giant squid prior to this. Is that some kind of lore around Hogwarts? It seems that there is so many mysterious things around this magical school, and maybe the giant squid is one of them? Anyway, thanks for your information about the giant squid, that does seem to be quite fascinating to know about." Rita finally replied, while looking down the window to see if there is really some giant squid living in the great lake, "I wonder if I can really see him looking down from the window. By the way, the view down the window is quite pretty, I have to say!"
