This was officially the round where Delilah had seen the highest number of ventus blasts ever in her duelling career, even if only one of them hit their mark, and there still could've been more. Delilah had temporarily forgotten that ventus splits itself sometimes, for a moment she thought Dmitri had somehow found a triple spell spread, but alas.
On the Gryffindors side of the field, Alan attempted to remove Evelynns blindfold while she blindly dodged one of the spells that was sent at her, even though the other still did.

The Slytherin boy let out a haughty laugh after as his Ventus landed on the Gryffindor girl even as she attempted to dodge the said attack. He'd dissolve into silent chuckles even as he turned to Opeila to respond.
"On the contrary," he'd retort as he'd raise his wand once more, "I think I'm the most entertaining person bar none, myself!"
He'd sweep his non-wand hand over himself. "I mean, look at the material. I'm the only person capable of making myself laugh, in all honesty." The boy would then mime wiping a tear off the corner of one eye.

Alan had successfully managed to evade the spells thrown at him by Dmitri, however Evelynn hadn't been so lucky. Alan would excuse it as nervousity as he knew that usually she was quite nimble, at least on the broom. Perhaps they would have to step up their game in order to win this properly.

Opeila couldn't quite join in in Dmitri's chuckles, she felt rather sorry actually. While yes, the blindfold had given them an advantage, this was really nothing to be proud of for her. Everyone could hit a blind person and as Evelynn accidentally blindfolded herself... it didn't feel like much of an achievement. At least she managed to get rid of the fog- oh how she hated the smokescreen and fog spell at this point, they had turned into such annoyances during her last duel.
But then something made her chuckle after all- Dmitri's response. Did he really not realize how sad that sounded? "My condolences Jones, you must be living a miserable life..."

In the dark obscurity left her by the blindfold, panic began to encroach. Without her sight, all other senses amplified. Suddenly, the crowd seemed overbearing where she'd barely taken note of them before. Wisps of smoke, lingering effects of the spells cast by nearby duelists, accosted her. She could taste the residual citrus if the lemon sherbet she'd sampled just before the match. And beneath her feet, the platform rumbled as her teammate neared and her opponents repositioned. Left with little more then guesswork at best, she tried to stay still enough for Vanes to rescue her sight. That came at a price as a gust of wind forced her to stumble back to catch her footing. At least she was quick enough to dodge the second one, sucking beneath and sidestepping to find a better position. The Lions were on the defensive. But it needn't stay like that for the rest of the match.

A couple of spells made their way through before Alan and Dmitri alike covered the entire stage in fog, any witnesses to the duel would find it very difficult to see anything going on here. Even Delilah had to sort of squint to figure out roughly where everybody was. Before that though, we had an incendio duo setting Pei alight and a ventus blasting Evelynn.

He'd put the back of his wrist on his forehead while feigning a swoon. "The absolute injustice of this horrible, terrible, miserable existence!
"How can one ever possibly survive?!"
As this was happening, of course, his wand hand would still be aiming at his opponents, ready at a moment's notice.

There was so much fog on this stage, Alan doubted that anyone could really see at this point. He also couldn't help but think of Galton who had some kind of eagle eye or great intuition and would have been totally in his element. Alan... not so much. But that wouldn't stop him from making the best out of the current situation!

The removal of the blindfold hardly seemed to make a difference, if truth be told. No sooner was she given the reprieve of returned sight than was it taken once again with the increased obscurity of the stage. A thick fog shielded the Slytherins from view. In theory, one might have hoped that this would mean the lions were as equally protected, but Evelynn knew better than that. They were little more than blurred targets. She was almost missing quidditch. At least then, even in the worst downpours, she could see what she was doing better than now.

It had been a hot moment since the last time Opeila got hit with an Incendio. Long enough for the pain to become a blurry memory that was now reawaken painfully. Last year had been kind of childplay really. Quite literally really, the two first years they were up against were still a vivid memory in her head.
This year was different, thins time she was up against more experienced spellcasters, on a similar level or even more experienced than her. The incendio that set her on fire now was a powerful one.
The smell of smoke and the almost immediate searing pain made Opeila lose her focus for a moment, she had already raised her hand to try and extinguish the flames, when she forced herself to not be so predictable. Instead she aimed at the silhouette of her classmate through the fog. "Ventus!" Was that a hit? Did the Gryffindor stumble, just a little? Yes. Yes, she hit.
