The entire platform was covered in fog, lazy curls of it floating out into the audience too, and Bridget had resigned herself to not being able to see anything very well. Still, all these duellists had fought through fog before, and they didn't let up for even a second.

Galton, who Bridget would guess could "see" the best in this, or at least function most normally, since he seemed to thrive in the obscured, sought to slow Phaedra down, but by the time the fog lifted, it would be clear Phaedra was moving at perfectly normal speeds and had not been hit.

Phaedra maintained the power of her previous spell spread, intending to douse the Gryffindor side in water. It wasn't poorly aimed for the conditions, by any means, but Galton just slipped by and Meenauh had, once again, thrown up a shield. Multiple shields in rapid succession could take a toll on you, so that was impressive in itself, and more than that it held up against Phaedra's spell this time, water rebounding back to splash at the feet of Dealla, who almost certainly hadn't been expecting that to come at her through the fog.

Quietly, though in no way an insignificant display of control, Dealla took out the entirety of the fog all in one go. Just like that, vision would be restored, and no one looked too much the worse for wear, though one had to wonder how long it would be until Gryffinodr resumed the shadowed ambience Galton seemed to like so much.

So far, they had spent two round doing not much. The fog was gone, and while they were a bit injured, no one seemed to be in any sad state. It was almost like they’d all decided on a reset (with the Lions’ flesh a little more tender than before). And I guess they were all a bit more tired after churning out powerful bouts of magic. But that also meant that there was so much excitement left to be had!

Action: Feeling déjà vu

The thick, soupy fog around them really made it impossible to see anything. Dee took a small, hopping step backwards when a stream of water came splashing towards her through the haze around them. She couldn't even identify the source. Was it Phaedra's spell? Or had one of the Gryffindors learned how to cast without incantation? She couldn't tell, and the fog around her made her feel itchy, paranoid. Exposed. It brought back memories of weeks she'd rather forget. It had to go.

Raising her wand, Dee made a split-second decision. Nebulus wasn't a bad spell, generally. Casting it on your opponents made them a little harder to aim at, but it made life much more difficult for them. And yet, it seemed that Galton had chosen to douse the entire stage in fog, which meant that in their eyes, the fog gave them more of an advantage than disadvantage - and that Dee would do well to get rid of them both.

Splitting several of her spells in a row was always more challenging, but she managed well enough this time, and the fog disappeared, leaving Dee blinking against the light. Apparently... nothing else had happened. The remnants of Phaedra's curse had disappeared, there were a few puddles of water on the ground. Other than that, you might think that the duel had only now started.

Both teams would have to pick up their pace, it seemed.

Ravenclaw wouldn’t let a little fog hold them back. With a swift underhanded cast, Phaedra elected for her adored Aqua Eructo, eyes narrowed as to pinpoint Meenauh and Galton's precise location. One split firing unbroken past both bodies was a sure sign of misdirection, and the culprit fog was lifted just in time to witness the other half splashing at Dealla's feet. Someone certainly liked shields, Phaedra dully noted, steadying her stance—and what better time to test its limits?

Meenauh had been shielding herself from the start of the duel, but Ravenclaw continued to go for her, and it would finally pay off. Because she couldn't maintain that forever, and as she set her sights on lending Galton a hand on the offensive end, she'd be slammed by all the damage heat could do.

Gryffindor did have a solid strategy going. Meenauh neatly tripped Dee, who was left fumbling as Galton's Obscuro blindfolded both her and her partner. It was an excellent set-up. What was less excellent was that, before their vision was stolen, they got off two rather threatening spells. Dee's was just fire, the staple of Hogwarts, but it caught merrily on Meenuah's clothing. And Phaedra's spell? Confringo was evidence of the sheer destructive force of magic; it exploded in Meenauh's face, blasting her with force and heat.

It was a one-two punch that surely left Meenauh reeling. Bridget felt equal parts bad for how much that had to hurt and impressed that Ravenclaw had down that in the span of a few seconds. Gryffindor might have a moment to breathe with the Ravenclaws blindfolded, but it looked like they might be forced to regroup rather than capitalize

There was a moment when even the strongest shield would falter, and Dealla had been waiting for it, ready to pounce. Once Meenauh's defenses were down, Dee was ready, whipping out a fire spell that flew straight at the Gryffindor... as far as Dee could see.

Suddenly, her foot caught on something unexpected, and she stumbled forward. She didn't even have time to check what she had tripped over before her vision turned dark, and Dee hissed, annoyed. The curse of the blindfolds, striking again. How come she managed to dodge next to everything, but not this? Truly, blindfolds were her worst enemy.

Dee straightened up from the awkward way she had caught herself, struggling to re-orientate herself. "Any clue if our spells hit?" she asked Phaedra - partially to use her partner as a point for orientation. "Anyone on fire over there?" she called over to the Gryffindors. "I seem to be lacking vision."

Galton had never been in a duel where Confringo had been used. He wasn't even the target of it and his ears were ringing. It was one of those spells, like both of the Incedios, where one might have wondered how it was legal. It was just that brutal. His ears would ring slightly as the pained words of his partner came through. She really was Mighty to still be standing after that. He felt his heart kick it up into overdrive. This was a fight.
With confidence he'd make a reply. She didn't need any doubt in this moment."The plan?!" he'd shoot back at her.

Action: Filling with conviction

Even someone as skilled as Meenauh couldn’t maintain a shield forever, and she needed to get lighter on her feet. Right as a blindfold tightened around her head, Phaedra sent a devastating blast towards the opposing end. It was impossible to gauge Gryffindor’s status, but she’d certainly felt the piste shake beneath her. That had to account for something. “…I suppose we shall wait and see,” Phaedra responded with grit teeth, grown weary already of the gimmick that was restricted sight. She instinctively reached up towards the knotted fabric to pull; it was nothing she hadn’t battled before.
