Rose Moon vs Hades Schweighöfer
ReducioRose casts Obscuro at Hades
Wisdom DC: 10
Wisdom Check: [d20 : 20] + 10 = 30 > 10 → Critical Success
Accuracy: [d20 : 6] + 8 = 14
Evasion: [d20 : 1] + 7 = 8
14 > 8 → Hit!
Effect: Hades is blindfolded. 0 Acc and 0 Eva for Hades until the blindfold is removed.
Attention: Since the roll is Crit Success, the blindfold will require a Strength Check to be removed (initial DC 15 and gets –3 DC for each unsuccessful check). It also can be done by another player (and both at the same time).
Kim Sato
ReducioKim successfully removed the blind from his eyes since Calli's Obscuro from the last round was not a critical success one
Callista Lovis vs Kim Sato
ReducioCalli casts Flipendo at Kim
Wisdom DC: 9 + 2 Rose Moon's LC = 11
Wisdom Check: [d20 : 4] + 9= 13 > 11 → Success
Accuracy: [d20 : 18] + 9 = 27
Evasion: [d20 : 8] + 0= 8
27 > 8 → Hit!
Damage: 100 + 7 Calli's AP × 10 = 170 HP
Hades Schweighöfer vs Kim Sato
ReducioHades casts Ventus at Kim
Wisdom DC: 11 + 2 Rose Moon's LC = 13
Wisdom Check: [d20 : 14] + 9 = 23 > 13 → Success
Auto-Split (10): [d10: 6] → No Auto-Split
Accuracy: [d20 : 9] + 7= 16
Evasion: [d20 : 14] + 0 = 14
16 > 14 → Hit1
Damage: 50 + 6 Hades's AP × 10 = 110 HP
Duration: [d3 : 1] = 1 (1d3, 1-2: 1 round, 3: 2 rounds)
Effect: Kim suffers –4 Evasion for the duration of the spell
As another round rolled in, the Beater decided to change things up. With a nod of their head, they gave the Gyrffindor team a chance to strike first. Reedimg from her last past sin mistake, Rose Moon used the same spell as she did last round. She made the wand movement and said the incantation for the Blinding spell directly at Hades Schweighöfer.
Unlike the previous round, this time around Rose's spell hits her intended target. With the perfect wand motion, a piece of black fabric was produced from the redhead wand and wrapped tightly around the fourth-year badger. It is truly a perfect comeback and it seems Rose will take no for an answer.
To unwrap the black fabric that wrapped around his eyes tightly, Hades need a lot of work to undo the blind. Meanwhile, the attack that Rose Moon slings at Hades Schweighöfer's way, is enough distraction for Kim Sato to unblind the black piece of fabric that obscures his vision from the last round.
And once Kim's eyes adjusted to the light around the room and up on the stage, the duel continues. Over the black and yellow side, both Callista and Hades change their tactics but both of them had one single target in their mind. As soon as Kim' removed the blind from his eyes, Callista Lovis did not give the young Lion room to breathe.
She put out her dueling stance and pointed her wand toward the youngest out of the four. With a resounding Flipendo, Kim Sato takes the burn of the Knockback Jinx. The spell is hard enough to knock the wind out of Kim but not that powerful since Kim still stands on his two own feet. Last but not least is the newest comer of the Duelling stage.
Since he saw Calli's spell work against Kim, it gives Hades Schweighöfer a good amount of confidence to produce his own spell. Cash had seen this spell before but never looked it up as close and personal as this day. With a soft enunciation of the Wind Jinx, a gust of wind was released from Hades's wand and directed to Kim Sato.
Although the black fabric that was obscured Kin's line of vision from the last round, it was not enough to dodge the incoming of Wind Jinx that Hades had aimed at the young Lion and thus Kim once again was staggered a bit but Kim still standing after taking two hits in a row. What a round!.

| ─── | It was distracting for him.
A familiar voice telling him to concentrate and that there was still time. As much as he appreciated it... Those things were obvious to him. Of course he would do the former and it was only the second round, so there was a lot of time left in the match. There were 8 more rounds, according to the new rules. Originally, there had been 12 total rounds. But the dueling club had decided that was too many and had shortened it down to 10 total rounds now. Like before, Kim took a deep breath and steadied himself to remove the blindfold quickly and with perfect accuracy. He'd done it once before and could do it again. But it was tricky. Because even if he managed to get the blindfold off, he also needed to dodge spells during this time. Kim was fairly certain both of their opponents would try and hit him. After all, why wouldn't they? It made sense. But it still didn't make him feel good about it, this was a duel after all and he needed to win it. For - well, why was he trying to win it? Before it would have been for Sophia. Or to prove to Rabbit that he was good at it. Why was he trying so hard to win this match? Right, it was to become a powerful duelist and be able to make a living for himself doing so. To bring pride and honor to the family name, as he couldn't follow in his father's footsteps to become one of the best quidditch players. But did he really want to win and be one of the best duelists in the world? What exactly did that give him in the end, if his heart wasn't into it? Did he want to sacrifice himself? Like he'd done with the Sorting Hat + hidden his true self away? To put family, honor + duty before himself + live as his parents wanted him to live? Distracted by his thoughts, Kim was unable to use his ability to dodge as he'd done the last time. Some kind of spell struck him directly in the right shoulder and almost knocked him off his feet. But the boy managed to remain standing somehow as part of his blindfold fell away from his blue eyes. Right in time to be bombarded by a gust of wind in his face. Kim only had enough time to try and attempt to dodge. But gusts were tricky and he failed to avoid it and ended up getting hit in the face by the wind. A few slices appeared on his cheek. The wind also ended up barreling into his upper shoulder and sliced into the blue material there. Due to the force of the gust, it also pushed him back a few steps. Kim winced and gritted his teeth together for a brief moment, before smoothing all expressions off his face. He wouldn't let anyone know that the spells had hurt him. It wasn't too bad, he could handle this. But now it was time for retaliation! If they thought they could win without much of a fight, they had another think coming for them! |

Hufflepuff vs Gryffindor: Match 5
@Kim Sato, @Cassandra Ironwoods, and the Hufflepuff opponents
Rose's gaze locked on Hades. "Obscuro," she murmured again, and the spell flew at him, hitting him as a blindfold wrapped itself tightly around his head. But not before Hades himself was able to let a spell loose, along with his partner. Both Hufflepuffs turned their wands on Kim.
A Knockback Jinx and a Wind Jinx hit Kim, a staggering combination. Rose couldn't say she was surprised, since the most logical thing to do was to attack the blindfolded opponent, but she still flinched, watching him pull his blindfold off. Kim was strong, though. He had proven that much. Rose paused, unsure if providing more words of encouragement would be helpful or smothering, so she kept her mouth shut.
She turned her gaze back on the Hufflepuffs. Focus.

The duel was getting very interesting. It was Rose who cast the spell first, which unfortunately was a success and made Hades have a blindfold covering his eyes, preventing him from seeing. Which made him feel frustrated and upset. How he hated this kind of impotence! This must be a challenge to make things harder for me, right? He tried to calm down and listen to what was happening. With a little concentration, the badger could tell that someone was hit by the spell.
He sighed and it was his turn, having pronounced and performed the wand movement, his motivation was of great help for his spell to work and hit his target, who turned out to be Kim. He was so determined and stubborn to win, that he would do his best to defeat the Gryffindor. Hearing the target hit, he gave a smug smile. That showed that even when he was blind, he was still a good rival. He didn’t know where Callista was, so he gestured “Who was hit?” he asked.

The next round was a successful one for everyone—well, except maybe Kim. Calli and Hades took no time in taking advantage of Kim’s temporary blindness. “Flipendo!” With only a touch of guilt, she watched as the blue light collided with the Gryffindor right as he removed the blindfold.
However, the satisfaction was short-lived as Rose sent off a smooth blindfolding spell at Hades. Was it just her imagination, or did it look particularly tight?
Thankfully, Hades was able to fire off a wind jinx without a problem, buffeting poor Kim with harsh winds. Hopefully he’d be able to remove the blindfold though. Even ignoring any duelling repercussions, Calli knew how disorienting that felt.
The least she could do was clue him in on what was going on. “You hit Kim, don’t worry,” she said.

Things getting interesting up on the piste. Neither the duellist were backing down despite the obstacle that they face. And besides, they still have 7 rounds to go. The Duelling had some rules changing within its system. One of the rules that were changing was the duration of the rounds between each.
From 12 to 10 rounds. Although there were a slightly decreasing amount of rounds, it did not make the action between rounds less interesting than its predecessors. Speaking of actions; let's jump into it, shall we? Taking from both Calli and Hades's pages, both Kim Sato and Rose Moon had one single target in their mind since Hades still had the black fabric obscuring his line of vision courtesy of Rose Moon's Obscuro.
But before we jumped into Rose Moon's action, let's take a look at the youngest out of the four of them. Upon getting a double hit in the last round, Kim Sato would take revenge in the form of Flipendo. He aimed his wand at Hades Schweighöfer. He was hoping the force from the Knockback Jinx was the same as Kim felt before.
But perhaps Hades had a better Duelling stance and thus not only it did not make him staggered a bit from the force, it only hit Hades' shoulder hard but not enough to knock the fourth-year badger to lay flat on the ground. Meanwhile, since Hades is still blindfolded, Calli took the chance to keep Hades safe and will protect him at all costs.
With a jet of light emitting from her wand, Callist Lovis aimed Incendio Duo at the younger lion, Kim Sato. Cash let out a wince when the fire began to burn Kim's robe and lick up his arm. Thank Merlin for the healing spell. That sure looks painful, the Quidditch player thought to themselves.
While both Callista and Kim was busy maiming each other although Kim's spelled directly at him, it gives Hades Schweighöfer time chance and time to remove the tight hold of Rose Moon's Obscuro pry away from his eyes. At first, Hades had some trouble to untied the stronghold of the black fabric around his eyes.
But as he took his time to unravel the knot of the fabric around his eyes, he eventually succeeded. And when the black fabric was off from Hades' line of vision, Rose Moon did not waste any time. With her own brand of Incendio Duo, she slings her spell toward Hades Schweighöfer. Though Rose's spell incantation and wand movement were done correctly, her wand worked against her and nothing come out of her wand.
And for some odd reason, the familiar jet of light for the Fire-Making Spell II coming from Rose Moon's wand, redirected to Kim Sato. Since Kim did not want to be burned for the second time in a row, he sidesteps the curse spell with ease. Rose Moon's incantation and her wand movement were formed perfectly.
But perhaps there was something in her mind that makes her lose her concentration on the spell. Whatever it is, Cash could not wait to see what happened next. "Come on, guys! There are still 7 rounds to go,"They said. "Prove to yourself, your teammate, and your opponents that you are one of the best out of the best,"The young socialite uttered some more.
"Make your house proud!"The Cuban descendant shouted. As a wide grin spread from Cash's mouth, the green eyes never knew refereeing Duelling's match could bring some joy into their life .

The last round had been hard on him. But this time he'd do better. After all, there was no blindfold this time. He would have gotten enraged if the black piece of cloth had returned to his eyes just then. Thankfully, Rose had managed to get off a spell of her own, and now it was Hades. Kim and Rose communicated their intentions with their eyes and then mutually turned on their target. Unfortunately, Rose's spell missed, and although Kim's spell managed to hit Hades, it wasn't perfect. Something had gone wrong in the process and it hadn't hit his opponent in the way it was supposed to have. Perhaps it was because of his mental state now. Kim was off. He'd been that way for awhile now. Ever since early October. No, ever since the Faerietale Ball had come to an end, the ball that had ended in chaos for everyone. Despite his intention to only remain focused on the duel, it just wasn't completely possible. Most of his attention was on the current match, that was for sure, but there was a part of him that couldn't fully commit. Kim tried to ignore this but because of his chaotic feelings, he didn't see the spell coming at him until it was too late. Callista's fire spell struck him... Perfectly. The blue haired teen's matching blue outfit caught on fire and the flames started to spread over the material. Kim grabbed the blue material on his arm that wasn't on fire and ripped it off, letting the pieces fall to the floor of the piste. Hopefully, that would stop the spread of the flames for a time. Enough time to either get off a spell of his own, or try and put out the flames that were still present. But which one? Kim gritted his teeth as the flames licked at his bare skin from the edges of the burning pieces of the sleeve he'd ripped part-way off him. Adrenaline coursed through him, perhaps because of this Kim suddenly sensed danger nearby... Which in turn led to him sidestepping, just in time to avoid Rose's wayward spell. At least his instincts were still there. What happened next remained to be seen but Kim fully intended on being there until the end. The blue haired teen raised his hand to wipe away some blood dripping down the left side of his face, courtesy of those wind slashes from before. Kim's outfit was not doing well, both the right and left shoulder areas had been ripped open a little, and the entire right arm sleeve had been ripped off to prevent the spread of flames. But the battle wasn't over yet! There was still time for a comeback round and Kim fully intended on winning the match. This time. |

After trying with great effort to remove the blindfold covering his eyes, Hades tried to sharpen his ears although it was not so easy, by the impediment of his implant. To his unfortunate, he was struck by the spell of his rival, Kim Aoki. Something that did not sit well with him, but the positive part was that it had not been as strong as it had happened before with him against Kim. Recognizing the voice, this time it was Calli when she cast the spell and ended up hitting Kim.
Thank God! Hades managed to remove the blindfold and he could see. But it was a little difficult because now his vision was slightly blurred. But if he had been able to perform a spell when Kim was blind and could barely see it, and no matter how hard he tried, he wasn’t able to dodge. But with Hades it didn’t have the same effect. Oh! That gave him a big boost of confidence and he was ready for the next round, he looked at Calli for a few seconds. He has to win the duel.

With just a slight hiccup, things seemed to be going well for the Hufflepuffs─although Calli wouldn't count on that luck staying with them. Might as well be thankful for their luck so far though! Hades was able to easily remove the blindfold, and Calli's Incendio Duo was spot on.
She had always disliked that spell; it reminded her all too well of the fires that had plagued the Hufflepuff common room. Still, she knew the spell had been a good choice─the tongues of fire lick up Kim's sleeves, and again, Calli restrained a tinge of guilt. Nurse Frogge would be able to fix him up again after this; she herself had experienced more than enough hospital visits.
Kim definitely wouldn't go down without a struggle though because he sent a Flipendo that knocked into Hades' shoulder. Calli was just impressed her partner managed to somewhat avoid it even with his eyes obscured. Hehe, see what I did there?
Thankfully, Rose's own Incendio Duo went wide, curving strangely towards her own partner. Calli had seen this happen before─unfortunate that the misdirected spell hadn't hit Kim, but at least it hadn't veered towards her. In fact, not a single spell since the first round had been aimed at her. She figured the Gryffindors were attempting to execute a similar strategy: knock out one at a time. Although, they were having a little bit of difficulty pulling it off. Hopefully, the Hufflepuffs could maintain their lead?
Luck, be a lady tonight!

Hufflepuff vs Gryffindor: Match 5
@Kim Sato, @Cassandra Ironwoods, and the Hufflepuff opponents
Rose and Kim both saw the opportunity as a blindfold wrapped around Hades’ eyes. Rose pointed her wand at him, muttering the incantation for the fire spell. The spell didn’t speed towards Hades, though, like she had planned, but twisted to target Kim. “Kim-!” She started, trying to warn him. He was able to slide out of the way, though. Rose’s face warmed with embarrassment. “Sorry,” she said, but turned her gaze on the Hufflepuffs again, just in time to see Kim’s spell hit Hades, though just barely. At least one of them had hit.
This was starting by to look a little bit rough. Rose hadn’t been hit yet, but Kim had taken quite a few spells, and was now aflame. She winced. Duels could be brutal.
Cash called out from off the stage, words of encouragement for both teams. Rose smiled towards them.
Make your house proud.
