Why did you choose your character’s name? Was there any significance? Is there meaning behind the name?

I’ll go first: Sabine is a French name that is common in her home country of Ghana. I wanted her name to have some connection to her roots. Blumenthal is a traditionally Jewish surname common in New York after diaspora; I wanted a surname that felt whimsical while also reflecting the diversity of New York City.

I actually have all of my characters first name starting with an A! I just thought of the name after that, off of lots of people I know irl.

I liked Rhys as a nice androgynous name. I felt their parents would choose it as a 'girl' name but then later on they could hold on to it as a neutral/male name as well. Fun fact, it's pronounced as "Reece", which I did not know. It's also Welsh, meaning "fire" which I admittedly did not know before now but really suits them with their anger. Read means "red haired" and "red" which suits them as a Gryffindor, lol (also they're semi-ginger). All of these are things I honestly did not know prior to further developing Rhys as a character, which I think is really interesting.

thanks! I'm literally having an epiphany because I was just like "yeah, Rhys Read checks out as a good name"
also if you look at their siblings there is a LOT of alliteration in their names LMAO
