An Accidental Friendship
Time : N/AClothing : School Robes
ReducioLocation : Transfiguration ClassroomWord Count : 310 WordsBeing early was what Oliver was used to. Getting to classes very early, most of the time, it was him who was sitting down first. But that would not be the case today. Why? He had one class on one side of Hogwarts, and Transfiguration right on the other side, which was inconvenient, but he would get there early still. He had in many other occasions, but what didn’t happen in those many other occasions was Oliver turning down the wrong corridor, then getting lost, having to retrace his steps, and annoyingly watching as the staircase changed directions while he was on it. He was now running late, sure class hadn’t started, but he still needed to get there in time. He sprinted down the hall with his arms still wrapped around his books and pencil case. Once he got to class, he was relieved to see that he wasn’t technically late yet. He looked around for seats, his usual seat was occupied since he was later than usual. Then he saw two empty seats in the middle of the classroom, he turned towards the seats but before he could start walking someone slammed into him, and he fell onto the ground. Only a few students were left standing, he looked to see a girl with dark hair also on the floor, she had bumped into him! His books were all on the ground, he swiftly gathered the girls books and handed it to her, “Here, we have to get a seat, come on!” He said as he piled up his books and pencil case. Everyone was seated by now, except them. He gently grabbed her hand and led her to the seats that were opened and sat down. He huffed out a sigh of relief. He had a few seconds to catch his breath.

@Oliver BrownBeatrice dragged herself out of the Classroom. She looked a little less put together then usual and her long hair was hanging, in a weirdly looking bun, down from her head. She yawned as her steps carried her with the other students. At times she found herself stuck between crowds lingering in the hall or walking as well. Her Slytherin robes felt just not quite right today and she had overslept this morning. Beatrice had also forgot to take her bag when she left her dorm room this morning. Thankfully she noticed at Breakfast but she was a little late to class after having to run from the Slytherin Common Room to the lesson. Another yawn escaped her lips as she waited for the stairs to come back. They had just swung to another direction, a poor boy falling from the sudden motion. He had landed on his butt, looking terrified. Probably another first year. Once she had gotten to the floor that she actually needed to be on, Beatrice noticed that the halls were pretty empty. A bit too empty actually. Her steps fastened and she turned a corner. Finally, Beatrice stepped into the Classroom. She had almost arrived at her usual seat when she saw that someone else was sitting there.
»Ugh.« she groaned under her breath. Why couldn't people stick to the seat that they choose in the begging of the year? The Gryffindor girl actually seemed happy about her current seat. Beatrice turned around and started walking again when she suddenly crashed into someone, or did they run into her? With a gasp she felt herself being pushed back so hard that she actually fell, the books that were in her arms spreading across the floor. »Bloody hell, I can't with this day.« She looked up at the boy that she had slammed into. He was picking up her books. At least someone here that had some manners because Beatrice had completely forgotten her own.
“Here, we have to get a seat, come on!” he said quickly, piling up all the stuff that had landed on the floor. Beatrice just sat there at loss of words. She stood up with him as he grabbed her hand and led her to the last two empty seats. Beatrice sat down next to him, taking her books from the boy. She cleared her throat, pushing the hair that had fallen down out of her face. Then she looked at him.
»I'm sorry.« she said to him. She hadn't looked where she was walking. »And thank you.« Beatrice gestured to her books with a small smile. »I'm Beatrice.« she said after a few moments, still looking at the unknown boy.

After sitting down, the girl apologized and thanked him. "No need to apologize, or thank me. Sometimes accidents happen you know." He told her. She introduced herself as Beatrice. "Nice name. Im Oliver Brown. You can call me Oli, you can call me whatever though. I don't mind as long as it isn't a crazy nickname. But I'm still down if it is. I mean I have a friend who calls me Brownie." He said smiling, his blue eyes evident and his hair was a mess. But in a good way ( somehow ) after they had fallen. "Its not your fault that we fell you know, I should have seen you commin, but I somehow didn't." He told her his smile fading away, embarrassment starting to cover him up like a blanket. He let out a sigh. A few moments passed in silence. "Do you like painting?" He asked Beatrice to strike up some small talk since the professor hadn't started yet. He had his sketchbook in his bag if she wanted to see his artworks. He let out a yawn. He waited patiently for her reply, he hoped that she had the same interests like him since that was how he made friends with people.

@Oliver BrownOliver had told Beatrice to not apologize before he had started introducing himself. He had told her that her name was nice, which was nice of him. He also told her that he could call her Oli but Beatrice wasn't the kind of Person who immediately started to give people a different name or a nickname, when their actual name was something she had to memorize first. He was smiling, telling her how a friend of his called him Brownie. Beatrice let an amused smile spread across her lips as she watched his blue eyes. She wasn't sure what to make of this so she just sat there silently. Why would someone be called brownie as a nickname? Perhaps Oliver liked brownies and that was the cause of this nickname but to get that nickname, Beatrice supposed that one would really, really, reallyyyyy have to like brownies. Maybe Oliver did? But he also could have been a cherry pie kind of guy. When she suddenly heard his voice again, Beatrice was ripped from her thoughts of pie. She raised her eyebrow in confusion and her smile faded within his. » Actually,« she said, »I'm pretty sure this was my fault. But nothing happened other than a few flying books so I'm good and hopefully you're good as well.« she smiled a little. There were a couple moments of Silence. Beatrice stared to the front of the classroom, waiting for their Professor to talk. She was still very very tired. Oliver's voice met her ears again and his question made her wake up a little. »Oh yes I do! I absolutely love painting!« she smiled widely. »Do you like it?« she asked. What a dumb question, he probably wouldn't have asked if he did not. »I pretty much lover everything that has to do with art. Any kind of painting, or drawing is awesome to me and I spend a lot of time doing that.« she smiled at Oliver before turning to the front again to see if the Professor had started with something. Then she turned back around to Oliver, smiling.

He told her, "Yeah, I'm alright! Just a bump, nothing serious." He got a bit excited when she mentioned her love for painting, "Wow! Really? I have only found a couple other people in this castle who share the same liking and of Course I like it! I have made a couple, if you want to see!" He mentioned, as he reached down into his back and grabbed a sketch book. He was a bit excited, maybe a bit too excited since he didn't notice the Professor start talking. He pulled it out and showed it to Beatrice, his painting of a forest, a painting of his owl, which took horribly long, having to give his owl snacks every few minutes to keep it still, and his personal favorite, a painting of his family manor, which took, way too long to make. "I uh- am starting to think I draw too much!" He laughed. Beatrice commented that she loves everything art related, which made Oliver smile, he was about to say something when he was interrupted by somebody, snapping their finger very loud. Oliver was startled, he looked up and saw the professor staring right at both of them. He just then realized, from a glance at the other students who were scrambling down notes, that he had not noticed that the professor had started the class. "Mr. Brown and Ms. Dupont, I hope you both are talking about the importance of visualization to manipulate and interfere with the formation of atoms and not talking about yesterday's lunch. If caught again, you'll have to clean Phillip's bowl today after class" the Professor said, with a loud booming voice. Oliver immediately turned red. He looked down at his knees, mumbling an apology as the Professor started teaching once again. "Okay that was definitely my fault." He whispered to Beatrice. His sketch was on his table, but he didn't bother moving it just so that he wouldn't get called out again for making a racket.

@Oliver BrownBeatrice smiled as Oliver told her that he also loved painting and had only found a couple other people in this castle that shared this love. Hogwarts was a creative place so Beatrice was sure that there were a lot of creative students and perhaps even professors or other staff members that roamed the castle with ideas in their minds and a love for painting or writing or other creative things. For her, it would have been great if Hogwarts had an arts class. She knew that muggles sometimes had this in their schools and she thought that it was a great invention. Who wouldn't want a class like this? Beatrice watched Oliver as he took out his sketch book and then he opened it. Her eyes fell onto the paintings and a smile spread across her lips. There was a beautiful forest, a painting of a cute owl and a painting of a manor. Possibly Oliver's home? When Oliver said he is starting to think that he draws too much, Beatrice laughed with him.
»I don't think there is something such as drawing too much. Maybe you could enchant your book to have an unlimited amount of pages to draw on?« she grinned at him. She hadn't been paying attention to what happened in the front of the class at all, a fatal mistake. Her grin dropped immediately when they were interrupted by the professor. Her eyes were wide when he started addressing them. Her heart was pounding in her chest. Beatrice had never been addressed for bad behavior or threatened with a detention. She directed her gaze at the table, much like Oliver did. He mumbled an apology and so did Beatrice, looking through the class and avoiding the strong gaze of their Transfiguration Professor. She was glad when he started teaching again. Oliver then whispered that it was definitely his fault and she shot him an apologetic look. »No it wasn't just your fault, we were both pretty distracted.« a warm smile spread across her lips and she had to keep in a giggle. Then her gaze went to the front of the classroom again and she listened to the lesson.
