Quidditch Slytherin vs Hufflepuff - Winter 2023

Clark entered, he was angry at the Slytherin troupe in general. It didn't matter if anyone he hated from Slytherin was on the team- he just hated everyone there. After all, they were the cause of his misfortune- in his mind. Depending on how this trial by fire might go- he might shift his perspective on the Slytherins.

He mounded his Nimbus 1001 and screamed as he took in the sight and scenery of the Pitch. He really wasn't prepared for what might come his way.

Once a socialite around the school, now Flash Holmwood would appear at the game as a rare sight. Lately, he spent most of his time hidden away or catching up on studies and sleep. Even now, rejoining the game which stood as a bastion of normalcy and enjoyment admidst everything else, he would look a bit haggard and distant. He was looking forward to this day, even had held a great deal of excitement since the morning, but as the sun began to set, so too would his eyelids become heavy.

Though he wasn't needed in the last game, a stunning victory over their rivals Ravenclaw which left them with an impressive amount of points to start the season, he knew he would never forgive himself if he had to be called and could not perform at his best. To that end, he would join the bench with a new object-- a thermos. This one was filled with coffee, something he perferred far less to tea, but would work far more effectively. He had learned to enjoy the bitter taste during his short relationship with Miss Anastasia Beckett, but did not often rely on it, knowing the dangers of caffeine addiction. This would have to be an exception, for as much as he desired an undefeated year for Slytherin. He knew their team was strong, they just had to follow through and perform.

Well, it was Rita`s 2nd Quidditch match since she had become a Quidditch player. The first game was not very good since the poor Second Year Hufflepuff first-string beater was knocked down by a bludger in the first round and did not really contribute much to the game. Arriving in the Quidditch pitch and mounting on her nimbus 2100 broom, the Second Year Hufflepuff first-string beater only hoped that she would have better luck in this winter game, and could at least survive the first round, not like the last game where she barely survived the first round. As Rita began to ascend from the ground, the Second Year Hufflepuff beater prayed silently to wish her good luck.

It was a quidditch day, and that meant two things. First, obviously, it meant that Slytherin needed to absolutely decimate their opponents, otherwise they might be unable to procure the beautiful, wonderful, necessary Quidditch Cup. Second, it meant that it would be a good day, no matter the outcome of the game. Koko was always just a bit optimistic on quidditch days, and today would prove no different... Hopefully.

Koko decided not to dwell on what would happen if things didn't go as planned. They would go as planned. They would win, and they'd do their victory lap, and their chances of obtaining the Quidditch Cup would be multiplied greatly. They actually had a chance this year, a proper, real chance.

Even though she would be exercising, Koko had taken great care to perfect her appearance today. Fashion was often functional, after all, and while she was wearing her worn quidditch gear, underneath, she'd ensured that she would have clothes she could move in and shoes with great traction just in case she needed to stand on her broom—a trick she'd been working on recently—for whatever reason. Her hair was pinned back the best it could be, and Koko had even put a bit of gel on it to make the flyaways stay.

Nothing would get in between her and her duties. Nothing.

However, the team wasn't just Koko, and thinking about that made her smile as she entered the field and made her lap with the rest of the Cloud Cobras. They were all strong and capable, and Koko's smile widened as she thought about the havoc they would all wreak. This would be good, she decided, perhaps even great. They were the Cloud Cobras, and just like the cobras of the earth, they very well could bite.

Excels at catching falling allies as well as getting them back to their broom quickly.

This broom can carry multiple people. When someone uses the catch option to rescue a falling teammate, they can catch one additional teammate in a given round. If the user has the ability Catch then a user can catch an indefinite number of teammates in a round, but for each person they catch after the first there is a stacking 20% auto-failure chance.

On the next round, as a free action (meaning both users can make a normal action) the rider and ONE passenger (if there are multiple sharing the broom, it would cost both of their actions to return them to their broom also) can retrieve a single broom.

Howard entered the pitch with a smile on his face. The match ahead was sure to be quite a challenge as they took on the Cloud Cobras. The snakes were all veterans. Well trained, experienced and thirsty for another win, but that did nothing to diminish Howard's spirits. The sun was high, no clouds in sight, perfect conditions for a Quidditch match. His Flying Badgers had practiced hard and done all they could to prepare for today. There was nothing left to do but to try their best and have some freakin fun! "Alright Puffs!" Howard called to his team mates. "Lets do the damn thing!" He pulled a funny face before launching himself into the air.

An increasingly familiar thrum of growing anticipation pulsed through Avery's chest as she moved to take a seat on the bench. It was a steady war between eager excitement and nervous apprehension. As fun as practice could be, she hadn't anticipated the sheer adrenaline actual games could bring. And despite the brutality of the last game, the blood, sweat and tears had certainly paid off and helped to impart even more of an appreciation for both the game and her team.

Avery perches on the edge of her seat as she looks to the rest of the team as they take off into the sky. Her leg bounces rapidly in place in an attempt to diffuse some of the building anxiety even as a bright smile makes its way to the forefront. She cups both hands around her mouth to amplify her voice and call up to her team. "You guys got this!" She does her best to try and catch Alma's eye to offer her best friend what she hopes to be an encouraging thumbs up.

Alma was feeling good. Since her last match, (which they had won), she had taken part in an unofficial quidditch match with June Selwyn, had an unexpected promotion to first-string, and had some one-on-one, eye-opening practice time with their beloved Co-Captain Howard White. She was confident they could win this; but, alas, the adrenaline and pre-match anxiety could just never die out, could it?

She took to the skies with a smile, ready but also still terrified for her second match. She turned around just in time to catch Avery’s eye as her best friend gave an encouraging thumbs up. Alma returned the favor with a nervous smile. They really needed to come up with a handshake or something. Pre-game rituals were a sign of good luck, she heard, and they were going to need all the luck they could get.

As the cheers and screaming come out from the spectator stand, inside the locker room, Cash was shaking. Not because of which team the Cloud Cobras will be facing. No. But from the nerves that they always felt before they entered the pitch. Cash was sure with their team. Their teammate. The Slytherin team that all of them dubbed the Cloud Cobras had proven from time and time again that they are the best.

If their memory served the correctly, they had won over Hufflepuff before. And surely Cash had confidence in their team that they could repeat the same history in today's match. Slytherin had proven themselves by winning over Ravenclaw and thus put them in a good leading board earlier in the year.

Faintly Cash heard the announcer call out their team to enter the pitch. The green eyes Beater had a hard time picking either their Silver Arrow or their Firebolt for this match but eventually, the Prefect chose the latter. Cash took a deep breath, mounted their broom, and kick the ground. Following their leaders, they took on the sky and do their usual introductory lap.

Once the lap had been done, Cash took their position in the sky. They looked up. Although it is still somewhat winter, the sky above them is clear. Donned in their Quidditch winter uniform, Cash had pinned their hair here and there so it didn't obscure their line of vision. Their shoulder-length hair also had been tied up into half-up ponytails.

A usual style whenever the fourth year had their Quidditch matches. From where they were situated, Cash's green eyes bounced from one person to the next examining the opposing players. Most of the Hufflepuff team members are either new or still young. The young member of the badgers did not have enough experience unlike Cash and the rest of the Slytherin team.

Whereas their own team had been solid from one year to the next one. With a hard thunk Cash hit the shaft of their broom against their Beater bat repeatedly. "Alright, Cloud Cobras! We defeated them once, we can do it again!"They shouted while cupping both of their hands around their mouth. Watch out, badgers! This group of snakes is out for blood and ready to strike.
