PV Players Snitches and Sweater Weather Closed

The new kid seemed to be talking to June before he got on his broom. I wished I could hear what they were saying better. What I did hear, though, made me groan. Another professional player for their team. I wrinkled my nose in distaste. Get off the field and let us win, is what I wanted to shout at him but instead I flew closer to Irina just in time to hear her mutter ‘jerk’. “Truly,” I agreed, shaking my head.

The quaffles were released, and in a flurry I lunged to grab at least one but neither me nor Irina managed to grab one. Even if they were down a teammate with Maggie flying penalty laps, they still managed to score three times. Clair was focused on something else, and I turned to see what it was. Simon, zipping to hit Colin was the point of attention for Clair it seemed, and I groaned. Irina must have noticed too, because she raced full speed towards Simon trying to hit him. She was almost there, but last second Simon turned and Irina continued her fast pace through the air. Her flight wasn’t for nothing though, because Colin wasn’t hit. I breathed a sigh of relief. We needed Colin to find the snitch, and fast.

The match restarted and Aryaan quickly fell in with the Chasers. It wasn't quite what he was used to, but he'd be lying if he didn't say that it wasn't fun. Three Quaffles, three goals yes LETS GO.

It was a good start and one they needed to capitalize on. They were playing with THREE Quaffles, they were gonna outscore the Snitch and win this Muggle style -- with the main ball!

An older kid -- the beater (@Simon Kincaid)-- congratulated him, and the Mahou kid could only laugh in jubilation. "No cap, you guys are great and making this really easy." A small tilt of his head towards the opposition, a small, seedy smirk. "Eyes on the prize, yeah?"

He'd lower his voice to his Chaser partner (@Alma Stoll). That was an amazing assist, dude. Keep it up, and we got this in the bag!


Another person (@Maggie Hawkins)joined in from doing a penalty lap, and her words had the Mahou seeker out with a full-on cheshire grin. "Of course. Gotta show the Slytherin Chaser how we do it in Asia! And I'm sure I could score a few more"

Was he picking a fight with his own team? Yes. Was it stupid? Duh! But would it be fun? Oh HELLZ yes.

"Come on, how about a wager to make this game a little more fun?" Here Aryaan raises his voice so that the rest of his words carry clearly to the opposition. "It gets so dull the other side doesn't put up a challenge, y'know?"

Chasers + Keepers

To hell with keeper positions, anyways. The true fun, the true glory, was clearly to be found with arms full of quaffles. Or something like that. With the release of the three quaffles (June would never live down her mistake, but now she'd committed to it being intentional), a mad scramble broke out across the pitch. But with a grace that she only seems to have on a broom, Maggie grabbed two of the quaffles and wasted no time in taking advantage of Occamy Storm's unguarded goals. Close behind her was Aryaan, who was quick to weasel the last quaffle into his hands as he sped right behind Maggie. With expert aim, Maggie tossed her two quaffles in. Aryaan tossed his quaffle to Maggie, who once again scored perfectly into the center hoop.

"30 more points for the... SGAQT!" June was honestly tired of saying this obnoxiously long team name every time. "That means it's 90 to 40 in favor of.. the team that just scored."

But something wasn't quite right... Where was Alma?

Beaters + Seekers

Besides her fellow badger Simon, that's where. The two had a plan, a goal. With their eyes trained on a kilt-wearing, helmet-adorning snake, the Hufflepuff pair took off.

Lucian was determined to hit Violet Grace if it was the last thing he ever did. And now was more strategic than ever to do so, she was flying towards the snitch as fast as her broom would take her. This was it, his moment to shine.

Fate, however, had decided that today was going to be a bad day for Lucian to the bitter end.

With a crack, his bat smacked the bludger and it soared through the sky... way below Violet. Oh well, maybe Lucian would have his way someday.

Colin and Violet were neck and neck as they weaved through the sky, following the snitch. Their arms extended, their eyes expertly trained on the small ball zipping through the sky. It seemed it could be anyone's game until...

WHAM!

Simon and Alma had crept around Colin, the younger flying head-on towards him as Simon slammed into Colin, shoving him off his broom. Oh, how hard a loss, to have your eyes trained on the game-ending ball and be falling in the opposite direction.

Her opportunity had arisen! Violet let out a final burst of speed, fingers reaching out until...

June blew her whistle three times, waving her arms. "Violet has caught the golden snitch! That's game over, everyone! Final score, Occamy Storm with 50 points to So Go Awesome Quidditch Team with 140!" They'd won, they deserved to have their full name spoken at least one more time. "Good game everyone! Alright, we’ve got good sportsmanship here, shake hands with the opposing team."

June went around to each of the players, congratulating them on a game well played, a wild smile sprawling across her face. Now all that was left was to get the injured players taken care of...
