Transferring Club Ownership - page 1 - Clans and Clubs

Ownership of clubs can be transferred between users.

There are three reasons why a club might be transferred between users:

1. If the club has become inactive (has not been used for over 120 days), a user can request to take over ownership of a club. If the members are active but the owner is inactive (has not made any site posts for 60 days, login times do not count), a member of the club can also request ownership.
2. The owner deactivates their account and wishes to transfer ownership to their new account or does not want to resume ownership on their new account but someone else does.
3. A user closes their club, someone else can re-open the club.
4. The former owner gives their club to someone else.

In the past we used to change the first post in a club to the name of the user taking over the club. This way the thread(s) used could stay intact. However, there is an issue with banned IPs and club ownership. If you had a club and it was taken over by someone else because you lost interest, got busy, etc. and this new owner gets banned. Your IP is under their name and this would result in your IP being banned also. This would prove problematic for users that do not have discord and have limited means of contacting the staff. Also, it is scary seeing that you have been banned and not understanding why (because you should not have been banned). As such we make a NEW thread and lock the former club.

Please note if you are being given a club by the former owner, PLEASE have the former club owner post this or provide proof that they have given the club to you and post in this thread a confirmation that you accept the responsibility of this club.

Please note: a transfer of ownership means that the new owner owns the club. A user who has returned after a long absence or has given away their club cannot demand that they are given back the club. Please remain active in the community if you wish to keep your club. Further, if you give the club away, be certain you wish to give the club up.

I also posted Nature Club in the club registry list too with a slightly different description for the club. So I'll leave my request in both threads. I wasn't sure if I should post it here or there.

Plus the one I posted down below in the club registry one has more details and things and the new link to the club etc... I just thought I'd post here to let you know that it's a transfer and also has a new thread up to be linked and a new description too.

I posted the following in the club registry list too as it's not really a transfer, it's more of a combination of one club into another club. So wasn't entirely sure where to put it, so I'm putting it in both places, as I didn't even realize this thread existed until I saw people posting in it!

Also, Prank Club combined into Mischief Makers.
Kim took over both but combined the Prank Club to Mischief Makers.
So Prank Club doesn't exist anymore. It's just Mischief Makers.
