I don't think 7th years got over a galleon because I remember someone saying that the maximum amount was 10 sickles. UNLESS they were part-Goblin, were a prefect, staff member or had some other high position or got paid for other stuff too (Hogwarts Headliner, Daily Prophet etc...).

Then they got more. Also captains of dueling, broom racing and quidditch.

Yeah I think I asked the question before to a staff member and they said no one had ever gotten paid more than 10 sickles from daily scholarship since HiO was started. Yes, you can make extra money on top of that per day if you are part-goblin or are a captain of quidditch, broom racing, dueling, are part of the Hogwarts Headliner or Daily Prophet, or are a prefect or a staff member. But for just the daily scholarship, it's always been a maximum of 10 sickles per day.

Whether or not that will continue to be the case remains to be seen! Who knows, maybe in the future they will up the amount! But for now, it should still remain 10 sickles per day.

To be fair though, no one was a sixth or seventh year back when we changed and assuming that fifth years were earning 10 sickles a day like I think (if you’re right then they probably weren’t), then the staff member was corrrect.

I think the person I asked told me what amount everyone got per year I can't remember who that was though. I think it was either Lear or Opeila though... I can't remember...
