Starley stepped into the train cautiously, looking left and right for an empty compartment, but every compartment was already filled with students chatting away noisily. The young girl kept her head low, as if trying not to be noticed as she walked pass the filled compartments. The more she walked, the longer the entire train seemed.

"Ah, finally." Starley muttered to herself, entering an empty compartment and sitting down with a sigh of relief. She had walked to the very end of the Hogwarts express, where it was more isolated and quiet. Pulling out a book, Starley laid back in the seat, her mind finally at ease, but as she flipped open the book, none of the words seemed to enter her brain, instead, she found herself staring at the pages blankly. Sighing heavily, she ended up pulling an elegantly decorated envelope out of her handbag. Her fingers traced the delicate decorations for a moment, before ripping the envelope open.

Dearest Starley,
I apologize for being unable to send you off for your first day at Hogwarts. But I trust that you are independent enough to get there on your own. Both your father and I have many fond memories at Hogwarts, and while I want you to have an enjoyable time at Hogwarts, I do not expect fun to get in the way of your academic endeavors. Your father and I have high hopes for you, do not let us down.
Love,
Adeline Myers

After reading the letter, Starley rubbed her temples wearily, putting the letter pack into the ripped envelope gingerly. "expectations...expectations..." her mother's voice seemed to repeat again and again in her mind. Running her fingers through her hair, she stuffed the envelope back into her bag and stared outside the window with a complicated look on her face, seemingly lost in thought.

It was, finally, this time of the year. The two-month summer holiday had faded away, and it was time for Rita to take the Hogwarts Express and began her second year at Hogwarts. She had a wonderful summer holiday, spending some time with her muggle family in London, participating in the various activities in the school summer camp, and making a few good friends. Now, it was time for another academic year at Hogwarts for Rita. For her second year, Rita wanted to continue to participate in the variety of activities and events at Hogwarts and continue to make a few good friends. She also wanted to study hard at school, pay attention in class, complete all of her homework, and keep her grades high to make sure her parents did not feel disappointed by her grades. She knew the upcoming year at Hogwarts was going to be quite busy with tons of schoolwork and activities, but she would not miss the fun of studying and living in Hogwarts. "There must be a lot of ways to have fun in the huge castle besides all the stress from the heavy schoolwork! Looking forward to my new adventure as a second-year student at Hogwarts!" Rita thought with a smile when she stepped on the Hogwarts Express.

When Rita stepped on the train, she found a spare seat beside an unfamiliar girl with long curly brown hair who were looking out of the window and seeming to think about something. She decided to sit down near the girl, before all the seats were filled by the large number of students all over Hogwarts and the train became noisy with all of the laughter and chats from those students coming to or returning to Hogwarts. "Excuse me, could I sit here beside you? Sorry to disturb you, hope you don`t mind. So, excited for the trip to Hogwarts?" Rita whispered to the girl with long wavy brown hair and began to read a book she brought from home while occasionally looking up to see the girl`s reaction as she waited for the girl to respond.

"Oh...sure." Starley replied half-heartedly, her eyes glued to her book, refusing to look at the girl who had joined her compartment. "So much for peaceful alone time." she thought, but yet she was unable to turn the girl down. Occasionally she would take her eyes off the book and glance out the window. The scenery was not at all impressive, just a never-ending field, but the 1st year seemed to look at it like it was the most interesting sight in the world.

Secretly she hoped that the other student would not bother to engage in a conversation with her. But as she turned her head away from the compartment window, she caught sight of the other girl's face and uniform. "Hufflepuff..." the thought flashed in her head for a second, before quickly fixing her eyes back onto her book. But it was no use, she found herself staring at the words on the pages blankly once more. At least it made her look busy and reserved, but Starley had a feeling deep down that that would not stop the Hufflepuff student.

Before Starley knew it, several thoughts began flashing through her mind. She only read the letter from her mother once, but yet she could remember every single word of it. "I will not fail. I will not fail.", those 4 words repeated in the 1st year's mind like a broken record.

"Oh...sure." Rita heard the girl seating next to her with long brown hair replied to her in a seemingly reluctant voice. "Maybe that girl just wanted to have some quiet time by herself, reading her book and occasionally look up to watch the scenery by the window. I`ll not disturb her by trying to talk to her in that sense, I`ll just read my book and maybe we can talk later when she was more willing to talk, or I`ll be just disturbing her." Rita thought, and showed a warm smile to the brown-haired girl, thinking it may make the girl more comfortable. She then continued to read the book as the train continued to move near the school.

"By the way, I have no idea what the new academic year in Hogwarts is going to be. I know there is going to be a lot of stress from the schoolwork since we have a decent number of lessons, such as Charms, Potions, DADA, Herbology, History of Magic, and so on. There is also going to be a lot of fun activities for me to enjoy and life at Hogwarts is going to be colorful. I will also make a few friends. Anyway, let me see what will happen when we arrived at Hogwarts and when my second year starts." Rita thought as she continued to read her book silently and as the train continued to come near the destination, Hogwarts, where a new year would start, and Rita just could not wait to see what adventures she would take on during her second year at Hogwarts. One thing she was sure, though, is that it was going to be busy but colorful new year for her.
