2022, Stage 1 Slytherin vs Hufflepuff: Match 9

The sneezing continues- although the tickling sensation has subsided, having to sneeze every few seconds were embarrassing enough especially now that the smoke from her Fumos has disappeared. She already could imagine the torment Hanako would do to keep her from forgetting this moment. Being tickled and sneezing is already excruciatingly painful for her so for now she just attempts to dodge any incoming attacks that come her way. But nothing came, other than the sound of someone getting knocked out, a pretty familiar sound especially since she kept hearing it when her partner is constantly in the position. But she did not cast any spell. After the smoke has completely cleared, the white-haired have a complete understanding of what has just happened. From tickled laugh came a wicked laugh from her lips. It was a very delicious sight to see none other than Angelfyre laying on the ground unconsciously. Although she is sad that it was not her that has done the finishing blow on the blonde, it is still so satisfying to see one of her opponents done for. And it is still very embarrassing for her to be beaten by her own spell. "Oh look whose partner can't keep their feet now?" Says Pea sneeringly at Emma while still trying to hold in a few sneezes and failing. "So I guess one of my roasted Badger is done cooking, I wonder if the other one is as tender as this." The white-haired taunt the last standing Badger with utter smugness. Now that Angelfyre is down, she only needs to focus on one more badger, and confidently she flips her hair thinking that the rest of the duel is just going to be a walk in the park. Pea goes back to her dueling position and grabs her wand tightly, ready to face what's to come.

Whatever excitement Galton had figured the match would devolve into - seeing as we were down to a one on one - would not turn up. And there was not even the terrible thrill of watching someone's spell bite them in their magical booty. No, it was a rather anticlimactic round.

Emma would at least get a flipendo off successfully this round. The spell construction was even good, something to strive for. Sadly, her aim would not follow suit.

Pea, who was still sneezing, would do her best to dodge. Maybe she wanted to coat the piste in the maximum amount of spit to make cleaning up after the duel easier? Or maybe she wanted to avoid getting hit with the nasty spell that had already claimed the two other duelists. Whatever the reason was - she would be successful. The flipendo would wiz by, Emma would not hit Pea.

With time running out in the duel, Galton was eager to see a little more action - see if there would be a second, third... forth surprise twist!

Emma was frustrated. She had lost her partner and was now alone facing the rather feisty Slytherin. She wanted to do well, as this was her first showing and she still felt poorly over how that one detention had gone. Emma wanted to prove that she wasn’t easily beaten but that seemed a far reach with how things were going.

She carefully cast Flipendo at Pea, glad when the spell was actually cast only to groan in frustration when Pea dodged. Really? Could she just not win. Emma wanted to grind her teeth and stomp around but that was not going to be very productive. Still she found her teeth grinding and forced herself to release the tight hold she had on her jaw.

Well, it was a pretty uninteresting round. She still squeak and sneezed annoyingly while trying her best to keep her cool on the dueling piste. It was disgusting and humiliating to think that her infectious bacteria are freely roaming the school ground. But, as her duel soon comes to an end, when she got that win, it will all be worth it.

Emma attempts another Knockback Jinx at the Slytherin, but she dodges it pretty easily. Her casting was not that bad so it was something she was probably proud of, but Pea is just too elusive for that, unlike her partner.

Finally, the sneezing has stopped, and the white-haired wipes her nose with the handkerchief she carries in one of her pockets. And take her stance. Now the real game begins.

There would be no funny business this round. Each duelist was fresh (or as fresh as they could be given they'd both taken some hits), and looking towards the finish line in sight. They would return to the classic - flipendo the ever loving Merlin out of each other.

Pea was free of the sneezes and would use her new freedom to conjure up a flipendo. Emma would try to once more, and conjure up her own flipendo. As the spells flew across the piste their paths would come surprisingly close to each other - Pea's a calm white, and Emma's a glowing Yellow would create quite the light show for the audience.

Emma's would be the first to make it over towards her opponent by mere milliseconds. Pea would feel the ever-familiar sting of the powerful jinx bash right into her. On the opposite side, Emma was faced with a flipendo pinpointed in on her. Galton was sure he was about to see both witches get hit. But miraculously enough, Emma would be able to get out of the way by a hair.

The slug fest had ended with a new bruise for the snake. Did this spell the end for Slytherin, or was it just a momentary set back?

She is doing what any sane mind would do. Attack. It was a clear move, the game is about to end but both of them are on pretty even ground. The white-haired raises her wand quickly without any of her usual retorts due to her stamina depleting, and she is indeed getting tired.

A jet of bright light escape her Phoenix's feather wand, but regrettably, it didn't hit her target as it missed Emma by an inch. Pea grunts in frustration, but Emma was quick and suddenly a jet of light hits her. Pea felt a familiar pain from the Knockback Jinx and steps back lightly holding her shoulder which is sore from the spell. "Hah! That felt like a tickle!" Pea said even though she is trying hard to hold her pain. Biting her lips in frustration, her mind is thinking and focusing, ready for her next move.

Emma was ready for the end of the match, wore out from the spells that had landed, though admittedly she hadn't faced near the amount that her partner had. Moving her arms and head around to try to give herself some energy, Emma prepared to cast her next spell.

Breathing out, she quickly cast her flipendo, making sure her aim was as spot on as she could. Watching the yellow light erupt from her wand, she grinned as it landed, taking a slightly hop step to the left which had been the very thing that had saved her from suffering a similar fate to the Slytherin. Scoffing, she stuck her tongue out at the Slytherin, "Oh whatever!" She figured it was a combination of the tiredness and the confidence from having landed her spell that made her feel comfortable speaking as such. It really wasn't mature for a prefect, and she could feel some guilt arising. Frowning, she clenched her teeth preparing for the next round.

The all out brawl between Snake and Badger would dwindle to just the Snake’s strike. The Badger would attempt to evade the wounded opponent.

Emma would take a break from her flipendo spree, choosing to focus on her footwork. While it was not the most exciting move, it made sense. Pea was wounded, more so than Emma, and with the constant bad luck with casting this duel, it would be much safer. Time was ticking down, if she could go without being hit, she may just come out on top.

Pea would do the only logical thing in her position - aim for some payback. And other flipendo would shoot out of her wand, with impressive aim to match her last cast. If it wasn’t for Emma’s fancy footwork, she would have had the the Badger nailed.

The bout would end as it started. Time was ticking down, the match’s end was soon at hand - would Slytherin be able to squeeze in at the last moment, or would Hufflepuff remain on top.

Emma debated her next move, weary and unsure if she felt like she could successfully cast a spell. She knew she would have to but could she take a moment and gather her energy for one last spell. But at least for the moment she made the decision to just try to dodge.

Focusing on her opponent she took a breath and watched as her opponent cast another flipendo in her direction. She danced out of the way sighing a breath of relief when she managed to pull it off. Honestly coordination was not her strong point but it seemed to be working her way this time. Thankful, she got ready for the next round, proud and having a good idea of what the outcome would be. Though she also knew she shouldn’t count her chickens before the eggs hatched as her ma always said.

The next round of their very nail biting duel are pretty boring. The match is about to end. It was obvious what the white haired is about to do. She flail her wand again, this time a little bit slower as her stamina is depleting. She just got hit by a spell, it was bound to take her a moment to fully go back to her usual fierce attacks. But it was still a mighty cast. The spell left her wand looking for its target, but Emma was prepared. The Hufflepuff dodges seconds before the spell hitting her. The white haired roll her eyes as she have guessed that this would happened. “Hmm- have your cowardliness returns? Come on, dance with me a little would you?” The white haired pouts and sneered as she saw Emma on the other side of the piste. She just really want to lay another spell on the badger.
