Humiliating... only word to describe this game so far. Who on earth designed this maze any how? There is no way Maksim's method should have failed, only explanation is who organized the dumb thing. Pea seemed to be annoyed with how long Maksim took, he simply scoffed at her, "Wasn't my fault this maze was build so half-hazardly!" His accent was thick, and his words were stern. How dare she think this was his doing, even talking to him as if he was an incapable wizard! The audacity of it all boiled in his mind.

Maksim moved on, and got the instructions for his next task, he now had to located a golden key, amongst a pile of golden objects. Should be simple enough... perhaps if he was able to get through this quickly, it would show that moderator who they were talking to.

Maksim took to his pile, looking up to the tower, "Monet, We are nearly through this! Keep going!" He called up to his damsel, didn't want her to think he was loosing hope, or fed up. He had to show he was here to win, and wasn't a quitter. Hopefully she wasn't either. What was worse than being the slowest person? Being abandoned by your teammate.

Maksim kneeled down to the pile, and began his search... hopefully Merlin would show favour over him during this section.

Aaaaand... Of course, with the brave and beautiful Lady Clair waiting below, Colin, the very definition of damsel in distress would have to snatch defeat from the very jaws of victory! No sooner than Colin shoved his long and voluminous braids out the owlery window, they managed to get tangled on an extremely inconveniently placed torch fixture some distance below!

"AW CRAP!" came Colin's mild invective. "What the ---?" Colin leaned over the window sill to get a better look at what was going on. There, about ten feet below the window, his mass of braided blond hair was mostly caught up in the decorative metal bracket. About thirty feet of braid dangled below that, swaying in the breeze!

Colin saw Clair way down below that. "HI CLAIR!!!" Colin waved his arms so she could see! "I saw you in the maze a bit! You were brilliant, luv! My hair's stuck --- I'm gonna try and pull it back up!" And so Colin began the laborious task of pulling hundreds and thousands of yards of braided hair back up into the owlery, all while dangling over the broad window sill. His only real means of support was his right foot which was precariously hooked around a piece of iron work in the window.

He was doing well, until it became clear that a couple braids were really stuck in the torch bracket! "Oh nuts! It's really stuck Clair! I'm gonna have to climb out and fix it! Hang on!"

Ducking back into the owlery, Colin measured out a generous length of silky blond braid and fastened it to the piece of iron work in the window. He hoped it would hold! "Well lad," he said; "better test it on meself first rather than risk Clair getting hurt! I don't ever want to hurt her!" And so he clambered out onto the window sill again and began the short climb down to the torch bracket!

"CLAIR!" he called down to the Ravenclaw. "Ye get a right bonny view from out here! And look! My hair is holding, so ye should have no worries climbing up! I'll have this fixed in a jiffy!" With that, Colin set to work untangling the strands and braids that had gotten caught in the huge bracket. "Once I get back up, I'll shove my hair the next window over --- there's no torch bracket there to get in the way!"

It seemed like her plan had helped her a lot. After searching for a bit more the young prefect finally found the key. The gold of the annoying key was the exact same as that from the coins, so it made sense why the brunette had not been able to find it before. It was easily overlooked. It was a very annoying little thing according to Samantha. Also, why even was this stupid key in the pile of coins anyway? It would have been way more fun if they made her solve a riddle or something. After all, that was something she was good at. If she hadn't been good at solving riddles she wouldn't be able to enter her common room. Admittingly, in her first year, she had struggled a bit with the riddles but now she could easily answer them. Practice makes perfect.

Once she found they key, she got up, wiping the dirty bits off her dress. Seriously, this wasn't the best outfit to save anybody. This was more a dressed to be saved in, a sit still and look pretty dress. Her sister would absolutely love to see Samantha in this dress. It would remind Anne of the many times she dressed her younger siblings in princess dresses when Samantha could be easily bribed with candy. Well, she was still easily bribed with candy but not as easily as 8 years ago.

This was really starting to take the piss now. Bubba felt like he'd been trying to braid his hair for literal hours but it just seemed like the more he braided, the more there was to braid. Surely the end had to be in sight now. He just wasn't sure how much more braiding he had in him. His fingers hurt so much from the repetitive motion he was literally shaking at this point.

Panic had started to overtake him now. He had to find Sam. Had to get her out. Hopefully, her suffering wasn't anywhere as near as intolerable as his had been. Bubba didn't consider himself a wuss by any stretch of the imagination but he really had to think he was getting there. It was just so repetitive, so boring, and so cramped. And he couldn't really stop to stretch them because he was afraid he did he'd lose the braid completely. He looked around and was reminded of the old snake game he'd played when he was younger. It was one of the few things the computer lab at his school could run. Surely the snake was reaching its end. It had to be, there just had to be a finite supply of hair in the universe. He resigned himself to his fate and started to whistle while he worked.

Well, bottoms up, Monet supposed. She popped the top off the potion and drank it as fast as she could (not that it would make a significant difference in the lost time). Suddenly her head felt... heavier. She looked down, and saw her hair had grown past her waist. "Well, that's not so bad," Monet commented as she turned and admired her new look.

Except the new look kept going. And going. And going.

"No no no no," Monet tried gathering her hair in her arms, but eventually it started growing faster than she could gather it up. Her head felt like it was being weighed down by bludgers. Finally, her hair seemed to stop growing (at least she really, really hoped so). Then the instructions came. "Are you kidding me?" She had to braid this mess?

Monet huffed in agitation as she began separating her hair into three. This was so stupid. Why had she even signed up for this? She didn't even know who this "Levin" asshole was, she was just bored out of her mind at the ball without Boe there. Ah, that's why she signed up. Boredom. As her hands began to weave her hair over, under, and over again, she wondered if this was even worse than boredom.

Action: Beginning the braid. And complaining (a lot).

While everyone is either climbing up or even on the final stage, there are still people who are still struggling with their braided hair. Pea put her fingers to her face in disappointment. One couple in particular looks like they really struggle. Colin McCoire appears to be climbing down the window instead of his rescuer. "What on earth!?" Pea came over to the boy who she was familiar with. "What are you doing McCoire!? Your partner suppose to do the climbing!" Pea sighed but she have her hands full already and decided to leave them to do their thing. He should be fine, she thought.

Monet Navarro-Gallay seems to finally wake up and realizes she is in this game, although the couple might be a little behind on the rest. But they could turn the situation around- and that would be a fascinating comeback.

Maksim Levin didn't seem to be doing so badly either, after that embarrassing show in the maze, he actually manage to find the golden key rather quickly.

"YEEEP!!" Colin squeaked as he lost his grasp on the window sill! "Urk!" Colin fell, bouncing off the iron torch bracket. He found himself dangling about fifty feet below the window he'd fallen from. His side hurt. He couldn't really look down, because he was hanging from his long braids of hair, so he felt around where the pain was and lifted his hand. Blood. Of course.

"I'm okay lass!" he called down to where Clair must surely be waiting impatiently. "I don't think I'm dead yet! Oof!" He reached up and hauled himself up onto the long braid of silvery hair. He was able to look down on a much closer Clair now! "I'm bleeding Clair! It's not horrible!" He felt something shift and Colin fell again! He now found himself swinging about twenty feet above the ground! "That's a bloody lot of hair I braided!"

Colin heard a voice waft up to his ears: "What are you doing McCoire!? Your partner suppose to do the climbing!"

"Pea!! I fell out of the window!" Colin realised that it was pretty obvious that he'd fallen out of the window as he was now dangling, looking like some suspicious and bunglesome burglar. He could clearly see Clair waiting for him below, and Pea as well. "Do I have to climb all the way back up Pea? I'm almost all the way down now! I'm sure I could shift another coil or two and be down real quick!"

Finally, the last pair who had not yet given up managed to pass this part of the test. It seemed to be more difficult than expected! Unfortunately, while they were celebrating this small victory, maybe even getting ready to climb, others were celebrating a bigger one. Bells rang, the tournament had ended, as another pair had crossed the finish line. Still - kudos to those still in the tournament, their perseverance was something to be admired.

This marks the final round of the tournament. Team 3 and Team 5 are tied for third place as they ended on the same part and their final rolls added up to the same number. Congratulations to all the winners! Rewards will be sent out soon.
