Jingle Bells, The Old Man Smells
@Beatrice Dupont
Edward smiled with glee as entered the great hall, everyone was already enthralled with the activities of talking, eating, or otherwise. Why was everyone already eating and commenced in other duties? Well, dear reader, you will find out that Edward was late, as he almost always to dinner if he didn't end up missing it completely! Edward walked proudly with his head-up, to those who didn't know him he must of looked like he had a flamboyant ego or was too proud, but the perceptions were far from the truth! Edward was just happy and couldn't contain his joy, that was why, dear reader, he held his head up high with a stupid grin plastered across his face. But why was he so filled with joy? You see that was because it was finally winter, he had crept up slowly, startling the unwary with snow and extreme cold. Edward absolutely loved if not adored the winter! His favorite holiday was Christmas, and soon winter break would be amongst them! Edward had already settled on going home to his Mother, he did miss her gravely, it was the longest they had ever been separated from one another. He adjusted the hem of his fuzzy, blue sweater as he walked down the aisle, and NO, not a wedding aisle, more like a lane between the tables... Or whatever you called it! As he walked a girl with long black hair that stood only a few inches above her waist, accompanied with overgrown bangs that seemed to just touch her sea green eyes that appeared brown in the current lighting. Edward grinned largely as to reveal the small gap in between his two large front teeth, strange yet charming. It was his best friend! Beatrice Dupont. Of course he just called her Bea though. He immediately went off his designated trail to go join his best friend of emerald green. It must have seemed odd that a yellow bear was going to the table of green lizards. But, maybe they didn't know because Edward wasn't wearing any sort of things that could showcase his huff puffliness. He didn't think at all about what could be the outcome of his actions as he walked over. Before he knew it he took the empty seat across from Beatrice at the Sly There In table.
"Waaaasssssssuuuuuupppp Beeee?" He said stupidly sticking out his tongue. This is a 90s/80s thing by the way. He looked at her with his dark, curious eyes as he grinned. "Whatcha doin for Winter Break?"
He wondered what his best friend's plans were for the upcoming break, he snatched an apple from the table munching as he listened to her. He gave his bangs a death glare as they gave him a quick stab in the eyes, they had grown a bit but his overall wig stood short. He looked about the Christmas decorated halls, it was nothing short of spectacular!

Her Outfit:
With that she is wearing black leg warmers and black boots as well as some simple silver jewelry.
Why am I feeling like this? Beatrice stood in an empty hall, trying to keep herself from crying. She pressed her hands to the windowsill, looking at her parents Owl Rupert flying away. A letter was clutched in her hand as she struggled to breath calmly, or breath at all... She wasn't entirely sure why she was so emotional. Perhaps it had been the letter, it was the first in over two months. Or maybe it was the fact that this time of the year was the most stressful time in the Dupont household and she wasn't there to keep her little siblings from being yelled at. She bit her lip hard, almost ripping the soft skin and causing her bottom lip to bleed.
Beatrice took a few deep breaths, wiping away a tear that had escaped and ran down her cheek. Beatrice suddenly felt angry, not entirely sure what the sudden change of mood meant. She folded the letter up, stuffing it into the pocket of her robe before starting to walk. Her now angry steps echoed in the hall, her robe flowing behind her. Of course she didn't know it but she looked a lot like a certain professor that had wandered the halls many years ago.Dear Beatrice,
I have sent this owl to ask you what you were planning on wearing to our Christmas Ball this year? All family members we have will be attending this year and of course several families that are in the same circles as us. Your Father and I would also like to know about your grades, have you been getting all O's? If not we will have to get your tutor to come by during Christmas break. Your Ballet Teacher will also come train with you a day after you arrived. We hope you are on your best behavior and dress appropriately! Send me a letter back, will you?
Regards
Alice Dupont
When she got to the great hall she rushed in, not looking at anyone or anything, although she did notice a few eyes on her. When Beatrice found a free space at the Slytherin table she sat down, glad there weren't to many people in here yet. She stared down at her plate in anger, knowing that it probably wouldn't, but feeling like it would shatter from her anger just because she was looking at it so intensely. After a few minutes the hall was full and food started appearing. However Beatrice's plate was left untouched. No one dared to sit on the opposite side of her, probably seeing her angry glare. She gripped her knees under the table, leaving bright red marks. Several minutes went by before she noticed someone sitting down opposite from her. She felt eyes on her once again.
"Waaaasssssssuuuuuupppp Beeee?" A voice she didn't immediately recognize said, making her react the way she did. »What do you want?« her voice sounded more than rude, it sounded angry. She looked up with a glare but immediately dropped her features when she met Edwards eyes. He was sticking out his tongue for some reason but it looked adorable. »Sorry Eddie.« She muttered, helplessly going through her long hair with her right hand.
"Whatcha doin for Winter Break?" Edwards American accent sounded as good as always and she liked listening to his voice and talking to him. However this time he couldn't cheer her up with just being there, this time she was holding on to the angry feeling lingering inside her, the sadness hiding behind it.
»I'm..uh.. my family's throwing this Christmas Ball. The Dupont Ball. They throw it every year. How about you?« her voice sounded even less energetic than usual as she looked into Edwards eyes and tried to smile, which failed in a sad attempt, coming out as a rather pained expression.@Edward Edwards

"Waaaasssssssuuuuuupppp Beeee?" He said stupidly sticking out his tongue. Before the dark haired girl even looked up she snapped.
"What do you want?" But quickly she looked up meeting eyes, her glare had softened. "Sorry Eddie," she quickly muttered an apology pushing some of her long dark hair back. He shrugged letting her know he took no offense, he just guessed she wasn't having a good day. He was curious why she was in a bad mood but decided not to pry, she'll say when she's ready. He looked at her with his dark, curious eyes as he grinned.
"Whatcha doin for Winter Break?" He said with his American accent taking out a piece of gum to chew as he talked, he almost choked on the strong taste of spearmint but quickly regained his composure. He rested his forearms on the tables as hunched slightly as to try and level himself with those around him. Edward's smile faltered slightly as he raised an eyebrow before knitting them together as he observed his best friend odd behavior. What was going on with her? Her face was a mixture or anger and the upmost sadness but before he could question with his curious self she replied,
"I'm..uh.. my family's throwing this Christmas Ball. The Dupont Ball. They throw it every year. How about you?" Beatrice said with no life, it seemed as if the fire that kept her alive was slowing dieing down. She looked into Edward's eyes that were as sad as the smile she tried to portray. It made Edward sad to see her like this, but having to keep his composure, he also wondered what could have made her like this, only a split second had passed before he responded.
"A Christmas Ball? Woah~ That's cool! What do they do? Is it like-very fancy? As for me, meh. No plans I just plan to spend my Christmas with my mom, but I want to do things before that, maybe even go to a friend's house," He grinned happily at her hoping that being happy will rub off some magic on her. He politely awaited her reply, then he knew he couldn't take this amount of depression in his dearest friend. He took her hand from across the table to comfort her slightly, as any friend would do.
"Bea, what's going on? Down in the dumps," he said to her softer than he had been takling before. "Remember we're friends! And friends are there for each other.... We could even talk somewhere else if you would like? If someone's bulling you I'll go beat them up!"
He said with a small laugh as too brighten up the mood a little. It killed Edward inside to see the ones he valued so much in life so crushed, all he wanted to do was protect the ones he loved, no matter what cost. He awaited her response though he would give the alternative of keeping to her self, he didn't want her to bottle up her emotions til she exploded. Friends stick together, no matter what!

"A Christmas Ball? Woah~ That's cool! What do they do? Is it like-very fancy? As for me, meh. No plans I just plan to spend my Christmas with my mom, but I want to do things before that, maybe even go to a friend's house," Edward grinned happily as Beatrice listened to him. She thought about how badly she wanted Edward to come to the Ball with her so she wouldn't be as alone and pressured to dance with family friends and their kids or have awful and boring conversation with several Family members, switching from French, to German and back to English. It was torturing to talk to so many people while being forced to smile politely, standing in uncomfortable heels with a long dress and waiting for the evening to be over.
Edward suddenly took her hand, ripping her from her thoughts and back into reality. "Bea, what's going on? Down in the dumps," Edwards voice suddenly sounded different than usual, it was soft and caring. Beatrice felt as if she was going to cry. "Remember we're friends! And friends are there for each other.... We could even talk somewhere else if you would like? If someone's bulling you I'll go beat them up!" He laughed a little, obviously trying to lighten up the mood. It sadly didn't necessarily work for Beatrice. She teared up, biting her lip so the tears wouldn't fall.
»I uh, -« her voice broke and she had to clear her throat, looking around to see if anyone was looking at her. She wasn't going to cry, not here. There wasn't even a real reason to cry but she felt as if she was about to bawl her eyes out. Maybe she was going to do so later in her dorm, unless Irina was already there. She didn't want anyone to have to deal with her bad mood and she already felt bad about making Edward worried. »I'm honestly not sure what's going on. It's just, uhm....« Her voice was shaking violently. »Don't worry, no one's bullying me.« she suddenly let go of Edwards hand, or at least she tried to. She bit her bottom lip so hard that it started to bleed a little. Beatrice closed her eyes for a few seconds, her head tilted downward. She took a few deep breaths, clearing her throat and stuffing all her feelings down where no one could find them.
»Sorry.« she then said, taking another deep breath and looking back up at Edward. Her eyes must have looked a little scary, almost no emotion left in the deep sea of green and blue. No eleven year old should feel like this about their family. Actually, no one should. »Uhm, yes, the ball is pretty fancy. They have like tons of decoration, a lot of food, hundreds of guests that get picked up by enchanted sleighs and a dress code. I think this year my Family and I are all going to wear black or green, those are our family colors and everyone has to come in super fancy clothes, like suits and dress robes and like dresses with cloaks and gloves. And every man has to have a handkerchief in their pocket with their family colors, you know? It probably sounds ridiculous to you, actually it is ridiculous.« Beatrice's voice was back to normal but she still didn't look quite, right. Her features were still a mixture of sad, mad and helpless. »I wish you could come, that would make things a lot easier.« she said, looking back up at her best friend. In that moment she noticed the fuzzy blue sweater for the first time and the corner of her mouth slightly went up. She liked the things Edward wore.@Edward Edwards
