Dmitri clenched his fist as a gust of wind blew his way. For the most part, the spell that hit him ticked him off. Though the Ventus against him didn't feel as impactful as when he, himself, does it (and he did have a brilliant history with the spell), it was still quite annoying.

Couple that with him missing both of his spells, and you've got one quite fuming Slytherin.

Heh. At least I can say I missed my spells organically and not because I was scared OR wanted to hit my partner instead.

The boy had a vibrant inner world and all the audience would see was Dmitri laughing at himself despite the fury building up within him. What can he say? He was pretty funny if he did say so himself.

Jones’ blindfold flew so closely past her face that she would just barely contain a squeak of surprise. It was from this that Phaedra blamed her Aqua Eructo going haywire, a sour shake of her head indicating disappointment that neither split had directed even remotely where she had intended. Attempting to shake off whatever mental cloud shrouded her competence, she could not help the soft smile that escaped upon witnessing Pericles’ feat, not that she had ever doubted him in the first place. It made her stand taller too, the fact that at least one of them still had a steady hand.

The next round of the duel would once again tip the scales, causing Slytherin to take the apparent lead. Though Alan was a lot smarter now, knowing how fast the balance in this particular duel was tipped into the favor of one team. He felt a bit of pity for Pericles, as Santario's spell had him not only battling the fog from a previous round, but also had him battle the jets of spiraling wind from her wind jinx. Dmitri once again showed no mercy, unleashing a blasting curse of which Phaedra would take the full blast whereas Pericles got away mostly unscathed. Pericles would attempt to return the favor with a Incendio Duo on Santario, which his friend would just barely manage to evade, she could almost feel the singing heat of the flame spell as it passed her. Phaedra got a little more lucky and would, like Dmitri, make use of the blasting curse on Santario. It would be painful, however Phaedra would feel that the outcome of her spell was less grand than it should or could have been, was something messing with her efforts this duel?

Staying exactly where he stood with barely a scratch, Dmitri could just about lay back and watch the explosive result of the previous round. "I think I'm starting to like using these spells," he said as he watched debris rain down around his opponents' side of the dueling stage.

If the Ravenclaws thought the two Slytherins were going to fall back on petty defensive strategies after sustaining a few hits, they were sorely mistaken. The Viridian Vipers are anything but predictable.

And they never backed down from a challenge.

Pericles had not been the primary target on his team for the duration of the duel, but when his opponents turned on him, they made up for lost time. If the howling Ventus vortex wasn't disorienting enough, the nearby Confringo blast certainly was. It left ringing in his ears, while the wind left his eyes watering, and his own "Incendio!" felt muffled in his ears. It careened off uselessly. He shot a worried look to the side, seeking the state of his partner.

If not for the sure control she had in her magic, Phaedra would have thought the explosion at her feet to be a backfire, or else the manifestation of a phoenix core’s stubborn personality. In truth, the blast was from nothing but Jones himself, having caught on to its utility. So it’s like that. Phaedra merely grinned as she rolled a shoulder, ears ringing. Was it really a good idea to let two pompous shitheads lob explosives around? Stifling a smoke-induced cough into her collar, Phaedra met the concerned eyes of her partner. Better believe these snakes haven’t seen anything yet.

Dmitri would cast a spell that he would skillfully spread so that it would target both of the Ravenclaw students, hitting them with the wind jinx. Whereas Santario would cast more subtly, but still quite painful, the Knockback jinx. Though she must have messed up, because instead of going for her intended target, it swerved and went for the other Ravenclaw instead, who managed to jump out of harms way. Pericles would attempt to capture both Slytherin's with his disarming spell, but more like eels rather than snakes, they were too slippery to catch. Not for Phaedra though, who would still make sure to petrify both of the vipers with her spell, so that they could focus on other things while the Slytherin's had to stand frozen.

Dmitri smiled as he landed his Ventus, further widening the gap between him and his opponents. It was only until he was suddenly staring at the stone ceiling of the Dueling Club did he realize he was unable to move his body.

Paralyzed, is what he was.

Annoying, he thought to himself, unsure which of the two Ravenclaws managed to land the Petrificus, but not entirely unwelcome.

Besides, he was getting quite tired showcasing how much better he was than all of them.
