"Oh." Hugh stopped himself from taking another sip in thinking about it. "I don't think she really is the... type, to be honest". His eyes darted towards the tiny figure on the Hogwarts team. "She has more of a soft nature, she cares a lot about things. Though, she is tough in her own right" The giant grew quiet again and furrowed his brow before giving his final verdict. "She'd just get herself killed"

"Did he? He didn't look like he had much of a plan?" Hugh asked in disbelief. Brock always seemed like the man with the plan instead. Always prepared. Observing and taking notes, notes on what? Hugh wondered in silence. He caught himself wishing to think alike. Have such a careful and investigating mind that had you set up plans as you went along. True thinking on one's feet it was. A sort of Sherlockian feat that made the young giant feel envious and had a great admiration for.

Hugh's eyes were directed to the stands across the room. Yes, it wasn't hard to spot the hoity-toity lot of the wizarding world. Foreign or not, they were clearly all cut from the same cloth. The Gryffindor tried to memorize as many names as he could, though Brock was talking fast. The Athanatos family he knew all too well. "Oh yes, I had a confrontation with ol' Thaddeus while was carrying his dying son in my arms" Hugh mentioned as if it had been a trivial event in his daily life. "I also cracked their younger son's head at a ball last year or so. That was after dealing with some nasty hag business" A flood of memories filled his mind. Flashes of scenes where he had been involved with that curious family. From refusing Vladimir's offer in the basements to lifting Gideon off the ground after desperately saving Erin from transforming. He also recalled the vivid image of Thaddeus with a large, black spear. A spear made of shadow. "The Athanatos patriarch is involved with some dark magic, just so you know" Hugh said, now more sharply. "He's dangerous"

Finally, his attention was brought to a blond guy surrounded by many. Like he was purposefully centred there, like a delicate flower in a decorative set piece. Hugh said only one thing in his quiet reply: "Who dares wins"

The tournament had been going on for awhile.

Kim couldn't help but wonder how things would turn out in the end, would Hogwarts win the first round?

Or would one of the foreign schools take the victory from them? Of course, Kim was hoping for Hogwarts to win. After all, it was their school and the tournament was being held at Hogwarts. How epic would it be if the school that hosted the first ever tournament also had the first ever win? It would set a precedent amongst the entire wizarding community, that was for sure. Still, the Hogwarts team that had been chosen was composed of a group of people Kim wasn't that familiar with. So other than it being Hogwarts members, Kim didn't have much to cheer about now.

He wanted Hogwarts to win of course. But it wasn't as if he could cheer anyone in particular on. After all, Kim didn't know any of them that well to do so. On the other hand, the match between Beauxbatons and Durmstrang was a different story, which was the one he was paying the most attention to. Valentin, or Vale as he'd started to call him after they'd struck up a correspondence after that quidditch match they'd spectated together back at in early April. The two had become somewhat close after communicating on a regular basis for the last six months with eachother.

It had been nice.

So naturally, Kim was going to be cheering on Durmstrang, just to support Vale.

Vale transforming before his eyes into a white outfit looked spectacular. Poetic lines were heard from his lips and Kim had to admit they were beautiful. Sophia would have been over the moon upon hearing such lines. Kim's eyes darkened and a shadow crossed over his features for a brief moment. But he returned to his 'normal self' only seconds later. Over the past six months he'd started to learn Russian, mostly because he'd needed some kind of new distraction. It had worked. Learning a new language, on top of everything else going on this year kept him very busy.

Managing the clubs he owned, attending clubs he didn't own, keeping on top of homework and going to classes... well, it took up all his time and kept his mind from going places. Drawn from his current thoughts, Kim returned his attention to Bailey, his little ray of sunshine who had dragged him here. Bailey had agreed to be his Princess of Sweets and a faint smile came to his lips. "You can always make me smile." He murmured, almost to himself and reached up to tuck a strand of orange hair behind his ear. It was true, Bailey had some kind of glow about her.

Something that made him feel at ease. Even when he wasn't. It was like a calming presence. That was one of the reasons why Kim liked being around her all the time. Yes, other people had also made him feel like this but it wasn't the same. The feeling he got from others didn't last for long, only for a few seconds at most but with Bailey, it almost seemed as if it lasted forever. Lost in his thoughts, Kim remained seated for a moment. During those seconds, Bailey took it upon herself to get to her feet, which in turn drew Kim's attention to her again. Right, they needed food now.

He opened his mouth to speak.

But promptly closed it when Bailey beat him to the punch and stated she would be going to get them food.

"I'll save our seats here then." Kim told her and took the hamburger and hot dog from her when she offered him them. He let his blue eyes flicker over the girl by his side. "Thanks for coming with me." The orange haired boy told her with a slight twitch of his lips. It was almost a smile but not quite, as he hadn't smiled for real since the ball. To avoid talking more, Kim bit into his hamburger, focusing his attention on the matches. Just having Bailey by his side was relieving for him, especially since he'd chosen an aisle seat, so no one could accidentally bump into him.

The fact that Vale had been chosen to be Durmstrang's King in the game wasn't surprising to him. After all, the boy had an almost regal air about him. Vale had even avoided a potentially dangerous attack on him by hiding behind Felix's billowy skirt. The White Seeker of Durmstrang was living up to his legendary reputation! Kim found himself hoping that Durmstrang would come out on top against all the schools but Hogwarts. It would have been perfect to have a final match between Hogwarts and Durmstrang! But anything could happen during fierce battles such as this.

Dark horses could arise and take over the tournament when one least expected them to.

Bailey was smiling. A lot, maybe more than usual- and that was saying something because she smiled almost constantly. Bailey had noticed that she did smile more around Kim- he was like her safe space- somewhere she knew she was safe and could be herself.
Agreeing to be Kim’s Princess of Sweets was the least she could do- and she kind of liked the nickname!
if we use it in public people are only going to believe the rumors even more bailey thought. She didn’t care for the rumors, though she did have a few butterflies in her stomach, she couldn’t figure out who was causing them..
Smiling at Kim, Bailey went to get their food. Kim said that he would save their seats, and Bailey smiled at that.
Walking over to get the food, Bailey wondered would Kim be here if I didn’t bring him? He has seemed to be more reclusive- well reclusive for him. We both are everywhere all the time, it has to be exhausting. He probably just needs a break.
After she was back in her seat, Kim thanked her for coming with him. She laughed lightly, and said “No-thank you for coming with me! You could have gone with someone else, a great many other people, and yet you didn’t turn me down…” bailey stopped talking, and took a bite of her hotdog, and sighed in contentment.
The food was really good, and Bailey finished it quickest, both her hot dog and her hamburger. She then pulled out her notebook, the one that had her cake sketches in it, and started doodling a cake design inspired by the game. She was half watching the tournament, and half drawing.

I stared at myself in the mirror with a grin on my face. I looked ravishing. And not just in my opinion! I loved the times I felt this good! I looked at my hair and just ran a hand through it, I never slicked it back.

I then headed to watch the Hexwizard!

H

I know people generally go with others so you don’t look like a loner but honestly, I would rather go on my own.

I strolled in and took in what was going on, quickly bouncing out the way of people that were not looking where they were going! Morons

I leaned against the wall trying to watch what was going on. It was actually very boring really. I would rather listen to Ian drone on and on about his job. I was this close to leaving when I thought I was starting to fall asleep! That was how tedious this was! I was leaning against a wall in a relatively loud hall and I close my eyes for a second and wham—

Ow! Bugger it!” I muttered, casting a murderous glare to the taller boy that had stepped on my foot. “Piece of shit,” yeah, I’m not a Happy-When-I’ve-Just-Woken up kinda guy. I huffed and looked around the room again. I perked up when I spotted a familiar face in the hall, someone I hadn’t spotted when I first walked in.

I slinked over to her and smoothly slid next to her, the other side of her. There was a girl sitting next to her. Freckled face and blue eyes. I ignored her for a moment and smirked at Irina. “Fancy se-seeing you here,” I greeted, running a hand through my black hair. “Who’s your- your friend?” I asked, casting a narrow look at her. I haven't seen her in the common room. It’s October… so surely if she were Slytherin I would have seen her by now. I smirked at Irina again. “Frat- fraternising with ano- another house, eh?” from our limited interactions over the course of the past month and a bit, I thought Irina was alright.

I looked at the girl, “Well? What are you?”

Yeah, maybe that sounded a little rude? Oh well. I’m in a mood and the only way to get out of my tired funk is to be the polar opposite!

Edward came into the ballroom at late, he couldn't believe he was late to one of the very things he was so excited about! The hex-i-wizard tournament! Edward's sense of hearing and sight were blocked by loud bustling, whistles, and chatter as people from all sorts of wizarding schools and ages were seated and walking. People stood selling butterbeer and all sorts of trinkets! That Edward decided against buying once again, he wanted to save his money for something of more upmost importance, even though a souvenir would be cool! Edward could only wish to himself that no one mistook him for an Ilvermony student because of his American accent. Edward found an available seat after going through rows and rows of students, accidentally stepping on one or two of their feet. Well, it wasn't his fault, even though he politely apologized anyways, they saw that he was trying to get through it's rude not to move as least your outstreched foot so that he could go! He may have been tall for a 11 year old, but come on he wasn't that big! People were just trying to make it annoying and hard, Edward clenched his teeth in annoaynce until he found the seat for him. Once he was seated he adjusted his blue and orange baseball cap, and pulled out a small plastic baggie of brownies from his large brown lettermen jacket's pocket. He jumped an yelled at the events that took place he voyld hardly believe what was happening, he would jump up to his feet yelling, his eyebrows knitted close to each other showing how passionate he was about the whole ordeal. He scanned the crowd once or twice, wondering if he would catch a familiar face. He slumped down back in his seat in defeat as Hogwarts took a big blow, Edward took in a sharp inhale as he watched. Of course Edward was supporting Hogwarts, it was his school anyways! School pride! He took a bite of his chocolate brownie as his ear ached from his earring and the overuse of loud noises. Edward could hardly keep still...

Blame it all on the late night banner making, Lucifur’s meows and his demand for food was the one that woke her up. It was twelve o’clock, the match had already started and she was still in the dorm room looking like a mess. She promised her cousin to come and cheer for him, knowing his opponent was her own school, he would’ve got no chance. Hogwarts would be way too hard for any school to handle and that was her saying the truth.

Aurora jumped from her bed, scourgified herself because there was no time to take a concert in the shower, changed into whatever clothes lay on top of her trunk, fed and accompanied her furball to do his toilet business, and in less than ten minutes prior to waking up, she was ready. “BYE LUCIFUR I AM GOING TO BE AWAY FOR QUITE SOME TIME! DON’T PEE ON MY BED! I LOVE YOU” She blew a kiss towards the nonchalant cat and ran to the ballroom with a banner that she worked so hard on her hand.

Upon arrival, she could see that the match had begun for maybe a couple of rounds. There were the black team and white team, she still couldn’t figure out which team her cousin was in. “I AM LATE! I AM LATE! EXCUSE ME EXCUSE ME!” Rushingly rana towards the best bleachers spot according to her whilst bumping into people in the process (feel free to say that she bumped into you). She spotted some familiar faces, Winnie was there surrounded by people with familiar faces. Aurora would save the greetings and introduction later because she was extremely late to the match.

She scanned the giant chessboard, people were dressing up peculiarly, too weird to her taste, but cool at the same time. One face that she noticed first was Pericles’, how can she not? He had this cool queen costume and his signature white hair was hard to ignore. It seemed like the black team was Hogwarts, and they still had all of their team standing up so tall. That was when she realised that Koldovstoretz wasn’t doing so well, bad in fact. Three people were down, one of them looked grim, for all she knew he might be dead. She couldn’t even show everyone her banner and her eyes couldn’t stop shifting between the neck snapped guy and her cousin. He could be next.

Here she was. In the midst of the Hexiwizard Tournament, staring hopelessly around. At sport games her sister had always pulled out a book and begun reading. Or hung out with her boyfriend. Neither of the two did Taisia have. She did have a few friends, but most of them were hanging out with others- she didn’t want to be a burden! So there she stood, blocking the entrance, wishing someone would appear for her to talk to. @Bailey Glade and @Kim Sato we’re hanging out- of course, they were so perfect for each other, but Bailey had only told her a million times that ‘they were just friends’. @Irina Sousa was there, speaking to a girl who looked about their age. She recognised her from her classes, as one often did, but could not quite place her name or her house.

Maybe it was time to watch some of the matches. Maybe someone would come up to her, or she could meet someone new, possibly from another school!
From her own school, she watched Hogwarts who seemed to have the upper hand against Koldovstoretz. She thought about cheering, but there was no way she would attention to herself like that.

The returned grin from the other girl eases some of the nervous fluttering in her chest. Avery settles a little more on her seat, leaning in slightly to try and hear a little better through all the sounds that fill the room. The girl's answer draws an amused chuckle. "That's fair," she concedes, "though I can't say I'm eager to try it anytime soon." As if right on cue, one of the students from a visiting school takes a somewhat brutal hit. The Hufflepuff cringes a little on their behalf. Though she was obviously rooting for Hogwarts, the brutality of it all caught her a little off guard. "Looks painful."

The introduction immediately draws her attention back to the girl beside her, though. Avery offers up a warm grin. "Great to meet you, Irina! A-" Her own attempt at an introduction promptly cuts out at the sudden appearance of a boy on the other side of Irina. He immediately flows into speaking with the girl, only looking her way after a moment passes. She couldn't quite place the look he gave her, but she shifted in her seat a little regardless, nerves partially resurfacing.

Avery glances between the two of them before she suddenly realizes he's addressing her directly. "Oh!" She straightens up a bit on her seat, clearing her throat as she offers up a small smile even as her cheeks flush slightly in nervous embarrassment. "Uh, Avery McCall, first year Hufflepuff. Good to meet you both," she finally manages, glancing between the two. She assumed by his comment before that the boy was also in Slytherin.

Despite her hesitance and a bit of light fidgeting, the Hufflepuff doesn't shy away from the rather surly boy that had joined them. Avery attempts to try and diffuse the vaguely tense situation with a smile. "Fraternizing with other houses not something you do alot?" she questions.

The lack of confirmation or denial from the girl that he was sitting with wasn't exactly comforting, but the Jester was so ensorcelled in his own thoughts that it hardly seemed to matter now. On all three boards, the games raged on; and on his own board of interest two people had already fallen hard and stayed down. Piérre flinched a bit as a particular shield bash caused a Beauxbaton knight to drop to the ground like a sack of potatoes. The boy glanced to the other boards to witness their casualties as well, and then chewed the inside of his cheek a bit with consideration. Well, he knew that they had magic to heal all those who had fallen; based on his experiences with Dueling and Quidditch, however, he also knew that in the moment those injuries certainly hurt like heck. You either internalized the pain or you didn't... and Piérre had a hard time doing that in general. It certainly didn't help that he tended to be a bit of an empath when it came to the injuries of others; even now his head throbbed a bit as if he too had felt that pure iron shield crashing into his skull. His right eye twitched a bit with the unpleasant somatic sensation.

When Figaro had finished sniffing out the other girl, Piérre took his cat back into his arms and cuddled him tightly to his chest. While the bengal closed its eyes lightly and continued to purr at that magical frequency which was known to assist bone and tendon fiber growth, and Piérre too found himself quietly closing his eyes and humming to himself, trying to unconsciously match the pitch of his cat's 'voice'. Despite himself, a ghost of a smile spread across his features, and despite the shouting and cheering, the sound of metal on metal and weapons clashing against bodies... bodies hitting the ground...

The boy had somehow managed to slip into a tranquil space, at least for the time being.

That was, until a pair of other students shouted at what felt like the top of their lungs (@AngelFyre McCubbins & @Simon Kincaid) for the boy's sensitive ears, casing him to startle once again. Eyes wide open again, he snapped to attention towards the two newcomers, who appeared to be cheering for their alma mater; Hogwarts. After breathing in deeply to settle his heart rate, the boy sighed and then smiled again. Yes... excitement was to be expected. This had far more attraction than a Quidditch or Dueling match. This was a sport that involved all the magical schools from around the world; an event that had not been done for nearly 30 years... and an event that had killed a student the last time it... had... been... uhm...

Hosted at Hogwarts.

Good God this school and its closeted skeletons. Was there one thing about this school that was stable in the slightest? Something that didn't have any darker implications?

Pursing his lips again, Piérre glanced towards the place where the media was placed, glaring at them all sharply (some looked more hawkish than others, and Piérre notoriously didn't trust people who openly wore looks of distain like they were something to be proud of) before taking stock of his fellow students. His part of the bleachers didn't appear as bustling as the others, which was nice in that it was a more quiet atmosphere... Then again, it was a thinner crowd. Thin crowds made it more difficult to blend in; to hide, if need be. If he couldn't hide, if he couldn't run...

It would be Figaro who would pick up a familiar scent first; the smell of the Tall Black Cat that had rescued him that spring from the feet of dancers and ballgoers when he and his brother had been separated from Gemello. With a creaking "Prrrrrr-ow!" The bengal would wriggle in his boy's arms for but a moment until Piérre graciously released him. In a heartbeat, Figaro was making his way towards the Black Cat (@Xailah Alptraum) and her larger cat companion. If he managed to reach her, Figaro's tail would flick back and forth curiously, eyes half shut and perched only a few feet away. Polite, almost. As if waiting to have permission to approach while the Black Cat still had her companion with her, or, perhaps better yet; as if asking the cat companion if he was alright with the thinner, silver bengal's approach to its human.

Piérre's eyes naturally followed his cat, and landed upon the gothic upperclassman. Continuing to watch now, cheeks paling slightly as he witnessed Figaro approaching (fearing that he would have to approach as well if spoken to... but... well... I mean... Xailah was cool. Piérre knew her at least a little bit. They had been on again off again "allies" and housemates), the boy was ready to pull his cat out of potential danger at any given indication that he might be threatened. Like his mage, the cat had a nose for adventure, and more often than not that nose could sometimes lead to trouble.

So... muscles tense, the boy watched. Waited, and kept his eyes peeled.

Enter Hadrian. Fashionably late but just in time for the real action to begin, where the teams were already in the limbo of taking brutal hits, some already taking a bite of the dust. Hadrian's focus would draw towards his school, sucking his teeth as he witnessed the fall of a few Ilvermorny players. They were not holding up well. Well, serves them right for not selecting him to play on the team; he would indeed have done a better job were he on the stage. This was just an embarrassment for Ilvermorny.

With a shake of his head, he found his attention now on the match of Durmstrang against Beauxbatons. Now that was some real action. As expected, the circus girl was on the team mounted upon a pale horse with a lance in hand. Those words that she yelled across the stage, Hadrian knew well. After all, Cielle was the one who taught him a peculiar set of Russian phrases (be proud of him). But that was just it, and Hadrian would remain oblivious to the topic of the heated exchange between Cielle and Johannes revolved around. That just happened to be himself.

"Да, пошел нахуйyeah FUCK OFF, Johannes!" He yelled adding fuel to the fire. The American boy's pronunciation of those Russian words was off but still comprehensible. "Cielle doesn't need your damned protection, you wimp!" Hadrian barked at Johannes, in truth, he could care less if Cielle was hurt during the match; she seemed rough enough on the edges. He cheered Cielle on, a smug smirk on his face. "Burn those French baguettes, Cici!" Baguettes were an odd choice of words, but it sounded offensive enough to leave it at that.
