Ironically and shamefully, as a piano player with five years of experience, Rita has never entered the Hogwarts Rehearsal Room to at least practice some piano pieces. It was not that she was no longer interested in piano, it was just that her brain was occupied with schoolwork, meeting up with old friends and new people as well as having small talks with them, Quidditch, and variety of fascinating activities and events around Hogwarts. Such a shame! She had been learning to play piano to her parents` request since the age of 6, and although there were times she did not want to practice, she had developed a deep love for piano, and now since she started Hogwarts last September, she had nearly forgotten about those piano pieces she learned, and had only played some piano with the temporary music band she formed with other club members when she went to that muggle camp for a month this summer with Cara @Charlie Jacobsen and Athena @Ava Winchect, who seemed to have received private magic tuition or transferred to another magic school since their second year started. Rita deeply missed these two friends, but she understood it was their choice, plus she had already got a bunch of other friends, which compensated for their disappearance. Anyway, without much thinking, Rita decided to enter the rehearsal room to see if there was a piano she could practice on. She still remembered a few pieces, even though she had not played piano for ages and was definitely not that good compared to other brilliant piano players around her age.

When Rita entered the rehearsal room, a big old piano immediately caught her eyes. Surprisingly, she saw her friend, fellow badger Ciel, striking on the drums. Rita waved to Ciel, "Hi, Ciel! It`s been a while since we first met! How are you doing? By the way, I don`t know you can play the drums! Have fun! I am going to play on this old piano, bye!" Without waiting for Ciel to respond, Rita walked to the old piano and sat on the piano chair, and began to play a few notes to see the condition of piano. The sounds clearly needed to be adjusted and it sounds like it had not been adjusted for a few years while normally pianos needed to be adjusted once every six months, but thank God it was still playable. She soon began to play one of the few pieces she still remembered, also one of her favorite pieces, that Italian song, O sole mio, translated to My Sun in English. It was a happy song, not very difficult, but very relaxing to play.

To no surprise, the room was filled with another person almost immediately. Ciel wasn't surprised at that. Hell, she'd be more surprised if nobody went in the room at all. But the shocking part was, it was Rita, of all people. Ciel didn't take Rita to be the kind of person to spend her time playing music but, oh well!
Ciel continued to play the drums, but with no particular rhyme or reason. She loved just making sound. But when Rita began playing some sort of sonata, Ciel found herself becoming more and more interested in what she was doing. The melody was simple but still incredibly sweet. Oh, maybe Ciel should try to play something akin to what Rita was?
Okay, Ciel could try that. It wouldn't be too difficult- after all, that was what most drummers did, right? She listened to the melody for another 20 seconds or so, and then tried to replicate the rhythm Rita was playing. Though her sounds were occasionally a little off, she tried to portray the passion into her drumming to the best of her ability.
Once she was finished playing, she turned to Rita and flashed a bright grin. "What did you think, Rita? I hope I didn't cramp your style, or something like that." While Ciel was talking to Rita, she recalled seeing a certain someone step into the room. She didn't say anything, as to not disturb Rita's playing, but now that she was done...
Ciel paused for a moment after Rita answered, and then turned back to face the person who walked in. Oh, he was familiar, wasn't he? Right- his name was Elliott! The sassy second-year who spilled a whole bunch of ink on Ciel. Fun times.
"Hey, Elly!" Ciel called, focusing her attention on him. "Can you play the guitar? We should all play something!"

Rita was just playing that Italian song she knew by heart on the old piano in the rehearsal room that was clearly out of tone due to the notes not being adjusted for at least a few years when she was surprised to hear the similar tone being recreated on a drum not too far away. That classic Italian song, O sole mio, was in fact not too difficult to play, but it was a happy song that can definitely lift up everyone`s mood, so in fact, Rita was not that surprised that Ciel could play the song out. Rita looked around, and found out it was Ciel, hitting the drums and trying to replicate the song Rita just played on the piano. Rita knew Ciel must be influenced by the happy vibe of the Italian song Rita played, so Ciel tried her best to hit her drums and play the song with Rita together. She also found out Elliott, the fellow Huffle boy Rita met in the common room, had also came into the rehearsal room and began to play the guitar.

"It was YOU that tried to hit the drums to follow the rhymes of the song I am playing on the piano, Ciel? You did a very good job! I cannot believe you nearly replicated the rhymes! The song would not too difficult to play anyway, but the happy vibe can really lift everyone`s mood up! By the way, it was the piano version of a classic Italian song, O sole mio, have you heard the song before?Let me continue to play the song and maybe we can play the song together!" Rita said to Ciel with a smile and also turned to Elliott, "Elliott, glad you are here! I don`t know you can play the guitar! Would you like to play the song on your guitar? We can create a small band! Alright, let the show begin!" After saying Ciel and Elliott, Rita quickly went back on the big old piano, sit on the piano bench, and once again, began to play the Italian song O sole mio, hoping the drummist Ciel would continue to replicate the rhyme of the song she played in the piano, and the guitarist Elliott would also join to also try to play this song, so that they could hopefully play the single but mood-lifting song together, and form a small band to hopefully play in front of their friends and other Hogwarts wizards interested in music!

Ciel blushed a bit at the praise- she was trying to match Rita, but she didn't think she was doing that well. She was a bit rusty, and definitely messed up here and there, but it was nice to know that Rita appreciated it nonetheless!
Ciel cracked her knuckles, and was about to start playing another rhythm when Rita suggested that they play another song together. She was taken off guard, if only for a second or so. Before she could join in, though, a thought had crossed Ciel's mind, 'Elliott should join in, too!', it would be cool if all three of them played along to the song.
"Elly, you should play with us!" Ciel said, quiet enough that it didn't disrupt Rita's playing, but loud enough that Elliott could hear what she said. It would've been a lie to say that Ciel wasn't slightly excited to hear Elliott play the guitar. She gave him a big grin when he nodded.
Once more, Ciel picked up the drumsticks and began to play alongside Rita. While the song that Rita played was slightly more difficult than the last, both Ciel and Elliott were able to pick up on it quickly. And, for just a few moments, the music from the rehearsal room sounded almost heavenly.
When the song ended, Rita spoke, "Ah, I think I have some homework I need to finish." Ciel nodded (she probably also had some homework she needed to finish, too, but that wasn't a problem for her to worry about right now).
"Aw, yeah, I should probably head back up the common rooms too. I want to take a shower before dinner. You coming, Elliott?" Ciel put up the drumsticks back where she had found them, before grabbing her back and heading to the door. Elliott nodded, and also began packing up, putting his guitar back into the case before heading back out to the hallways with Ciel and Rita.
"That was so cool!"
