======================== Unfortunately, Hiro's earlier words had not borne fruit. He was not one of the lucky ones that had been able to successfully navigate through the corn maze on their first attempt to do so. Perhaps not going fast through the maze at the start had been a bad idea? Hiro's sense of direction was usually pretty good, although this was his first time going through a maze like this. It was also quite dark and spooky too. Still, Monica was out there waiting for him! He wouldn't let her down. The boy couldn't come riding up on a white horse and save her from her predicament if he couldn't navigate his way through this first trial! Hiro resolved to get through the maze on his second attempt and thought for a few seconds. The creepy melody playing was making his attention wander and he shook his head, trying to focus on his thoughts. A faint rustling of corn leaves could be heard all around him and set the scene even more. Although it was creepy, it was also very cool. It was around this point in time that his bubbly feeling diminished further and Hiro realized something of importance. Somehow he'd come under the effect of a potion. But how? And where? Now that the extreme euphoria was slowly dissipating from his system, Hiro could actually focus and think a little. He could still feel the happiness feeling inside but it was becoming more obvious that it wasn't a genuine feeling but more of a forced one. Hiro didn't have a reason to be happy. He hadn't for a very long time. So if there was a feeling like that inside him, it was artificial and placed there courtesy of a potion he'd somehow ingested over the past few hours. Or had it been minutes? Hiro didn't know how long it had been since the potion had taken its effect on him. He didn't even know how or where. Part of him was annoyed that someone had been able to slip him said potion. But another part was glad because he hadn't felt that way in what seemed like ages. The pink haired boy shook his head, trying to banish said thoughts from his mind. Whatever. It had already happened, nothing could be done about it now. At least the maze wasn't in complete darkness, or he'd have been more scared than he was right now. Hiro had a fear of darkness but only when it complete darkness. If there was a bit of light he didn't let his nerves get to him. That is, unless someone tried creeping up on him from behind and startled him. There was a bit of light. Which meant he was fine. Hiro made his way through the maze, searching for the right way to get out of the area. And almost ran into someone in front of him, which actually scared him enough to let out a little yelp. Peering closer at the person in front of him, he made out an outline. A feminine one. Was it a girl? "Lumos!" He said, taking out his wand to wave it in the air, tracing the correct movement to cast the spell which would light up the area around him. Yes, the person was a girl. "Hey, you know that's a dead end, right?" Hiro said as he let his dark eyes linger on the girl before him. She looked like she wasn't faring too well from the tears he could see welling up in her eyes and he tilted his head to the side. "Want to stick around with me until we make it out of this maze?" Hiro asked her, trying to help the girl out. He couldn't very well just leave her all by her lonesome like this! Helping her out of the maze like this didn't hurt him, so why not do it?

"It's so dark I can't see a thing," Kayla muttered, feeling around her, only to come to another dead end. Then she remembered she had mastered the light spell. Why hadn't she thought of this sooner?
Lumos," she muttered, taking out her wand and casting the charm. She had successfully done it, and there was a pearl, white light now showing a path in front of her
Yes! she started walking faster, up to the point that she was almost jogging.

Then, WHAM!
Smack into a dead end.
Oh, come on! she was ready to scream. Kayla wondered who built this maze, and how Nico was getting on. Was he okay? Did he manage to get past the first task? Because how Kayla was getting on, she was hoping he was better.
Kayla felt her face to make sure nothing was broken or bleeding. Her face felt slightly scarred from the contact she had made with the wall. Her face was pounding, but the damage wasn't much. She couldn't it see it, anyway.
I really hope he's okay. Because seeing how I'm doing, I don't think i can get out of this. Kayla banged her fist on the wall and turned around, pulling her wand back up and starting at a job to another route.

It was dark in the tower, much darker than Monica expected it to be. There were so many places the potion could be hiding, it felt like her search would never end. She took a moment to pull out her wand, she needed more light if she was going to have a chance to find this darn thing... Surely there were others that had already moved on, she could waste anymore time! Hiro was counting on her!

Trying to remember what the spell was for light... she couldn't think of the words! She knows she had learned it, but in this moment the spell escaped her. She pocketed her wand, "This is just wasting time..." She thought to herself. She got down on the floor, stretching her arms out to feel out the room. She navigated to every four corners of the space, opening drawers, and checking under furniture as she went, even going over places again. She was being even more theral with her search, and this time relying more on her sense of touch than her eye sight. "Don't worry Hiro," She spoke softly to herself, "I am going to find this potion...and meet up with you soon!" The thought of seeing Hiro again gave her the motivation she needed to keep going. He surely wasn't giving up, so she wouldn't either!

This game proved to be more of a challenge than Maksim had anticipated. Despite his best efforts, his strategy to navigate out of the maze wasn't working. She stopped, trying to re-think of what he could do to get out of this faster. Trying to go back in his mind to remember where he run into dead ends... how far back were they? He turned on his heels and continued to walk the opposite way, removing his hand from the wall. Finding his way to a fork in the road, he picked up a leave from the corn ear, placing it down, and pointing it in the direction he was going to try, off to the right. Every time he came to an impasse, he did this, trying to mark where he came from and where he was heading. A few times he found circles, and made a mental note to avoid this section of the maze.

Eventually he was able to explore more of the maze then he did the first time. He understood now, that his hand to wall trick didn't help him much when it came to being stuck in a loop, this marking strategy hopefully would help him get out of this trap. His only hope was that Monet wasn't already cleared from her task... if he ended up being this far behind, holding her back, it would not look well for his capability, perhaps she wouldn't even want to watch him compete in the tournament anymore?

He pressed on, not thinking too much about it, his only job was to get out of this maze, if he was truly that far behind, it was only because this maze was mapped out by incompetent fools who didn't know their rights from lefts, making it so only morons could get out of this place in any sort of a timely manor.

The Rescuers
Minutes pass as most of the rescuers have left the maze, several people have yet managed to leave the simple corn maze. From her list, it was 3 people that are still stuck there. She rolls her eyes annoyingly, "I thought this is an easy maze, but why do these people take soooo long!" The white-haired complained, but as she finish her sentence, a boy finally appeared from the corn maze exit. "Ugh Finally-" Pea says to the Japanese boy. Hiro Bakugo. Then, like every rescuer that has passed the maze, she read the instruction of the next round to the boy. 2 more were left still stuck in the maze. Maybe she should check them inside- maybe they pass out or something.

The Damsel
Several Damsels are still struggling to find the bottle as most of their opponents have moved on to drinking the potion. But after searching all the areas, one girl finally found what she is looking for. Monica Evans surely uses the philosophy of 'slow and steady wins the race.'

His feet began to drag as he walked, he cared no longer which turn he took, nor what direction to go. "What the Hell?" Shouting out in Russian, the ridiculousness of this maze. Was this a prank? Was some school trying to get the better of him? Throw him off his game just before the tournament? "Bloody Brits can't win unless they lock me in a Maze?" There was no other way to explain why he was still stuck in this unforgivable loop of...CORN!

Every turn he took, dead end.

Or sometimes, Loops!

How is it possible that one tries so many various directions only to always be stopped or return from where you started? If this was a prank, then giving up was only admitting defeat, and that wasn't something Maksim knew how to do. He's only instinct was to fight. Whoever is behind this, wasn't going to keep him at bay for much longer!

Raising his chin, he surged ahead, his hands getting nicked by the leaves as he brushed by, but to no notice of Maksim. Turn after turn, he kept going, keeping in mind that if he never got our, then Monet would also be stuck....Monet? Did she put him up to this? was she the reason he was trapped? Was all that just coy to get him to put his guard down?

Only time would tell at this point, no sense loosing your head just yet, till the facts show themselves. If she was against him, it wouldn't take much for him to find out. He continued on... determined to make it through this ungodly maze.

THIS IS SO STUPID!” Monet kicked the wall of the room, fuming with anger. If her blood was literally boiling, she wouldn’t be surprised.

Ow. Maybe kicking the wall wasn’t such a good idea. Mild pain pulsed in Monet’s right toes as she yelled out in frustration.

Monet closed her eyes, rubbing them hard with the palms of her hands. Maybe if she could erase her visual memory of the room, she’d have a better chance at looking for whatever the hell she needed to find. Or something.

God, what was she even doing? She wasn’t even friends with Leviticus or whatever the hell his name was. She just heard “game” which meant “winning” and “kick everyone’s asses”, not “get stuck in a damn room for who knows how long while everyone else points and laughs”. At least, she hoped no one was pointing or laughing.

She that, unless she won, no one would remember she was here at all.

“Fuck. Okay, take three,” Monet muttered under her breath. There had to be something in this room that would help her. Monet’s vision was a bit fuzzy from rubbing her eyes so hard, but her brain felt a bit more clear.

The Rescuers
At last the final rescuer has escaped their maze of doom, and from the look of it, he seemed mad. She would too and she is now. "Congratulation, you are officially the slowest person here," Pea said to the foreign boy who is called Maksim Levin. Pea then continue to tell him the rules of the next round very irritatingly and make way for him so he could move on to the next round.

The Damsel
Last of the bunch, Monet Navarro-Gallay finally successfully found the bottle of potion even though all of her opponents are a long way ahead of her. But kudos to her determination for the fact she never gave up finding the potion, even though there are some who do. The committees gave her a cheer even though they suppose to be the 'witch's minion' but they couldn't help to be fascinated by the girl's willpower.
