A question, so quick... something Monica didn't expect. She was about to answer when the girl went right into writing... Pausing Monica started to wonder if giving her an answer mattered at all, why ask if she was just going to start anyways?

However it seemed that the answer should be stated in any case, no sense having a 5 sentence story to read off, this was meant to engage their creativity, not be something they write off.

"I expect a 200 word story, of course if you end up writing more than so be it." She started to wonder if that would be enough... or too much? She never gave out a punishment like this, how did she know what she was doing?

Time seemed to tick by, Monica lost interest in keeping track. Kiwi slept in her hood, while Monica sat on the desk reading away, it was an interesting book her sister gave to her called, 'of Mice and Men' She rather liked it... though there was a slight off puting-ness to one of the characters, but in an endearing sort of way. She finished a chapter to look up from her novel to see how the two were coming along, "How is it going guys?"

Two Wizards in a Dark Forest

Once upon a time, there were two wizards that were originally good friends. The two wizards were courageous and adventurous, so one night, they decided to do something brave and went to a dark forest that was not too far away from their residence for a secret adventure. Other wizards had told them the dark forest was extremely dangerous, as there were many dangerous creatures, and worse, it was covered with a horrible curse that no one knew, and it was believed the dark curse in the forest would try to kill everyone who went into the forest. No wizard was allowed to enter the dark forest, but the two daredevils were even more attracted to the dark forest by the fact that entering the forest is prohibited and they decided to enter the dark forest by themselves in the mid of the night when everyone was asleep to find out the secret of the dark forest and what curse is in it.

So, that midnight, after everyone had fallen asleep, the adventurous two wizards got up from their bed, put on their clothes and shoes, grabbed their wand just in case, sneaked out of their bed in tip toes, and went on their secret adventure to the forbidden dark forest. It was extremely dark outside, s so the wizards moved their wands and casted Lumos to help them see in the dark. They walked for a while, and soon found themselves in front of the dark forest.

They entered the dark forest, and very soon, find themselves trapped in the forest and in big trouble. As other wizards told them, the two wizards soon found out forest is extremely dark with various horrible magical creatures, such as ghosts, poison spiders, and other scary looking creatures that could probably kill them at any minute. Even worse, the curse in the dark forest made them nearly impossible to find the way out of the dark forest. Due to the curse, the dark forest was a maze, and it was extremely difficult to find the way out of this maze that was specially designed to trap wizards in. And the effects of their DADA spells were also suppressed due to the horrible curse. They must work together to find the way out of the nearly impossible to solve maze and tried to stay away from the attacks of those horrible magical creatures.

However, they later found out there were also some challenges to their friendship besides all those horrible things outside in the forest. It was hard for them to work together. One of the wizards were finding the other one being selfish and only thinking about themselves. "I thought we are friends, but you are indeed such a selfish person! You are only coming up your own ways to work out of the maze in this dark forest and never pay attention to what I`m saying! We are no longer friends!" The angry wizard shouted out to their partner. "But we must work together to get out of the forest! I know I am being selfish, and I apologize to you! I swear I won`t next time! Could you give me another chance? We can never solve the problem if we just keep blaming each other and don`t actually solve the problem!" The other wizard responded to the first wizard. However, the first wizard did not listen to the other wizards` words, and they found it impossible to work together.

The two wizards never returned to their residence after their secret trip to the dark forest that midnight. Other wizards believed they had died in the dark forest, but no one had seen their dead bodies, and the entrance of the dark forest were permanently closed after that event, even to today.

It was as if Monica could hear the ticking time of the clock as time slugged on, though there was no clock in the room, she felt as though she was back home in a state of waiting, the old grandfather clock in the hall ticking away before.....

"I have finished my story."

Not a chime.

Monica put down her book, seemed both of them had finished writing, now what? She wasn't a teacher, nor was she someone that was even skilled in writing herself...It was in this moment she realized how little she actually knew what she was doing, but couldn't show that, she had to be professional, no signs of second guessing.

She stood up, taking to the centre of the class, just like her professors did during their teachings. Glancing down at their parchments, it was clear both of them blew past the 200 words she had given. It was good, but also made her wonder if she should have made the word count higher? No point in dwelling any longer in the time prison she had created, she gestured for them to come up to front, "Excellent work... Now good writing must be shared, please come up and share with us what you have written." She didn't pick who went first, she left the choice up to the two of them.

Once one of them took to the front Monica sat down in one of the empty seats in the 'audience'. She listened to the first story, and felt a sense of pride, perhaps it wasn't just her meddling in their friendship, but a general want for them to mend whatever was broken. Of course Monica's main goal was to remind them not to cast spells outside of class...But it was how her father had raised her, any good friendship is one worth fighting for, though Monica didn't know these students, or their situation at all, there was something that didn't feel right when she caught them breaking rules... something that she felt she could help fix... perhaps these stories were the bridge to that mending.

After the first story was read, Monica looked over to the second student, waiting for them to take to the front. Listening to their story, it seemed both of them followed a similar theme... so it was clear there was an element from both sides of wanting to fix whatever was broken. Monica smirked to herself...Perhaps she was a good prefect after all? Maybe not an intimidating one, or with hard punishments, but one that uses what tools she has to help get to roots of issues... or maybe that was just her ego getting to her.

After both stories were read, Monica took to the front again, "Good work you two, you should be proud of the stories you have written." She picked up her book that she left at the front of the class. "Your detention is served, you are free to go." She took a moment before adding, "But do remember that spells are for class... as both of you wrote about, breaking rules leads to nothing but trouble, so I hope you stay out of it from now on." She gave them a smirk before opening the door to let them leave.
