Ink and Sweets

Dialogue: X | Thoughts: X
Date of event: 11th november
This time she got distracted painting at her dorm, whenever she feels like she needed to put her overwhelmed thoughts into something her inks and brushes were the best calming meditation. But now...looking at her wristwatch Irina realized how late she was already. How does she manage to always lost her notion of time is a mystery yet to be solved. Grabbing her schoolbag, she put inside of it her notebook, her sketchbook, and her writing and drawing supplies. Was when she noticed her hands were full of ink and also the tip of her robe… “aaashh!!” She cursed herself for being so clumsy. Her bag and books were now smeared with her colored fingerprints, “whatever…” she muttered feeling a little frustrated with herself, while trying to quickly clean her hands on a rag. Some of the ink were not getting off so easily and time doesn’t stop, so she left the rag, picked up her things and went out her dorm and Common Room.
She was literally running through the school’s corridors towards the library, she had a 5000 words homework to deliver next day and she had yet to start it! The library would close and she needed to grab the right books first. She was so focused in getting there on time that she didn’t noticed or sensed him before her nose literally hit into him. “Aagh” she groaned painfully while tears formed in her eyes. Grabbing her nose with her hands she looked at the taller boy in front of her, “I…I’m sorry!” She said in a muffled and nasal voice. Remembering the painted state of her hands she closed her eyes, wishing she hadn’t made a “piece of art” in her face, bloody hell, she thought exasperatedly.

Ink and Sweets
I cracked my fingers as I walked down the corridors, I was still aching a little.
All all the noise from the common room was annoying hell out of me, so I abandoned my need for my warm bed to have a stroll. I took a bunch of sweets with me and went outside for a little, just for some fresh air, but it didn’t last long as I got bored.
I decided to go to the library. My robe pocket was full of random sweets and so my plan was to find a nice corner to sit at and read a book. Ooo, maybe they have books about muggles? I could read about them so I can talk Muggle next time I see Alice!
Just as I was making my very timid way down the corridor, I smelt it again. Only briefly! I smelt it again…and then that was over took by the smell of… ink? I scrunched my nose up a little but carried on walking. I wonder why I can smell that at random times when before I entered the common room, I had never smelt it before! Apart from that night… I thought.
Sighing, I ran a hand through my hair and adjusted my glasses. The smell got stronger and I heard squeaking as someones shoes ran in the hallways. Spinning around, alert, I let out a surprised “Oomph” as someone collided with me. I groaned as the force practically slammed me into the wall.
“I… I’m sorry!" I heard her apologise. She sounded weird. I looked at her. A messy hand clutched to her nose as tears clouded her eyes. I could see her face turning a crimson red colour as she closed her eyes.
“What is it with people w- walking into me?” I mumbled, mainly to myself. Honestly, since being here, Irina is the 4th person! Not to mention all the ghosts that simply don’t care where they… float? "It’s fine, Irina. What’s g- got you in a rush?" I asked, straightening my robes.
Irina’s nice. She was one of the first people I ever spoke to, from my house anyway. She’s… different. It’s hard to explain but something feels different. There is an… an air about her I can’t quite put my finger on. Same with the second year boy, Colin. I saw him when I came into the common room that time.
Shyly, I handed her one of my many sweets I stashed from the trolly on the train. "Want ought?" I asked, a small smile forming on my face.
Chocolate makes most people feel better, right?

Her nose hurt like hell while she turned her gaze up towards the boy in front of her, she recognized him, was Lucian from that time at the Snek Fort. "Lucian? Hi...I'm sorry I didn't see you coming!" she explained still with her hands in front of her face, "I was running towards the library, I need to pick up some books before it closes." pulling her hands away from her sore nose, she looked at them for blood. Luckily there was non, but certainly a new style of makeup had found its way to her face. She felt her cheeks turning red of embarrassment while she looked at her feet and gently touched her nose to see if it was broken.
Irina heard Lucian searching for something in his pockets, sooner after it a candy wrapped in shiny paper appeared in front of her, "Want ought?", she heard him ask. With her right arm, she covered her face from the nose down while turning her gaze again towards the dark-haired boy and then back to the piece of sweet he was handing her. Timidly she grabbed it from Lucian's hand, "Th-Thank you Lucian!" she said in a hoarse and shy voice. Then forgetting about the paint scattered on her face she unwrapped the piece of chocolate and took a small bite of it, "Hmm!! It's really good Lucian! Thank you!" she said happily and smiling at the boy, while eating the candy. She was sure the candy hadn't a healing potion on it, but true is she felt much better after eating it!
"Have you already done the charm's homework for tomorrow? I'm so late, you know? Because of the ah...I mean because...I--I felt...sick this week!" She then tried to avoid the boy's gaze, looking towards the empty corridor, now feeling a little nervous that she had said to much, because he would know right? Of course he would know, she could sense it in him. His smell reminded her of the forest and wild rivers, there is only one type of people who could smell like it...

I watched her take a bite, the red draining from her face as she took a moment. I’m glad she liked it! "No problem! Glad you l-like it Irina!" I answered.
Then she asked about charms homework.
My face went pale, "We- we have charms homework?" no, no, no! I completely forgot about that! Ringing sounded in my ears as I tried to recall what it was. I had been rather preoccupied!
Just as I felt myself spiral into not-new territory of the panic swirling inside, all the noise flooded back into my sensitive ears as I felt pressure on my arm.
Oh, Irina had tapped me. I focused back on her to see a fleeting look of apprehension as I came-to.
"Urm, s-sorry about that, Uh no. I haven’t yet. I have been- been… busy and preoccupied. Well… I-" think of a reason Lucian!. I didn’t want to lie to her, she was one of my only friends, but what if she found out? Maybe it wouldn’t be a bad thing. After all, something feels different about her.
I swallowed, "Erm, can you help me with it? Or do you just want to come to the library with me? I was going to see if there were any books about muggles," I offered, delighted I managed to say that without a stutter or a stammer in sight.

"Igotanowlsayingthatmynanwasn’tfeelingwellanditwasimperativeIseeher!"* I rushed out, forgetting to take a breath. I gave her a nervous look. *I got an owl saying that my nan wasn’t feeling well and it was imperative I see her"Lucian, you must never tell anyone about what you are," my mother drilled this into my head the night before September 1st. "You have no reason at all to be ashamed, and, while laws and views have become better these past few years, there will always be bigots. Promise me, my angel. Please,"

When she looked back at Lucian he looked even more lost then her. His face turned pale and his gaze seemed to be looking at nowhere. She wished that in that moment she could be able to hear the boy’s thoughts. She just tripped over her words, almost exposing herself completely to him…now she was not even sure Lucian had heard anything she had said.
“Lucian…” she called for him, concern enveloped in her voice. He stood still, like a statue…just breathing evenly, gaze lost into his thoughts. What have I said to put him like that? as he gave no reaction to her words she decided to softly touch his arm, "Lucian, are you feeling alright?" she ask with a louder voice.
This time it was enough for him to snap out of that trance, Lucian looked at her seeming a little uneasy as he apologized to Irina and explained why her question took him by surprise. Apparently he had received an owl saying something about his nan?...Irina couldn't figure out everything he said while he was messing around with his words. She felt sympathy towards her friend...haven't she done and felt the same moments ago? Perhaps it's not the right time to talk about it...she thought kindly. She was about to ask Lucian if he wanted to come with her, but he asked first if she could help him with homework, "Y..yeah sure! Of course, we can go together. Actually your help is also welcomed!" she said smiling at him, "Books about muggles? What do you want to know about them? I'm half-blood, so I'm sure I can help with that too! Come!" she said joyfully while holding Lucian's arm and started to lead them towards the library.
