Klaus is the only child of Mr. Pierre Fernsby, world-renowned anthropologist, and Mrs. Adeline Fernsby, famous musician with a repertoire of over thirty instruments. Being so, he has a lot to live up to. While his parents never forced pressure onto him, he sure felt it. That lead to his surprise at being sorted into Slytherin instead of Ravenclaw like both of his parents. He didn't think that he was particularly ambitious... He didn't feel like much of anything. Klaus is a constant daydreamer, who always seems to be lost in thought. Even as a young child, his dreamy state lead him to almost falling down a flight of stairs–which, fortunately, turned into a colorful playground slide, acting as his first instance of magic. Klaus didn't grow up with a lot of people his age, and his father's frie–work partners–often remarked on his "old soul." But Klaus didn't feel old. He loved to run, to dance, to listen to his mother's music. Unlike his father, who was frequently gone on expeditions, Klaus' mother Adeline was the one who solely raised the boy. He is very close to her as a response, and sends her a letter every week. When Klaus was sorted into Slytherin, he was worried that his parents would be angry with him, but instead, they were proud.
