They'd hit reset on there duel - last round was a false start - the real action began now. Where spells had fizzled and sputtered out last round, they would blaze and dazzle this round. With a moment to catch themselves, it seemed the duelists had resolved themselves to not make the same mistake again.
Every spell hit its mark. Maybe not the intended mark, but they hit a mark nonetheless. Clearly the case for Hui, his Rictusempra would shoot towards Emma before veering wildly off into AngelFyre. It wasn't surprising that the badger felt the small evil magic hands dig in and begin tickling with how erratic the spell had acted. But AngelFyre had a retort. A second blindfold would shoot out of her wand, finding it's way onto Hui's face before there was a second to react, Galton wasn't even sure he'd even be able to dodge such a laser focused shot.
If magic hands tickling away, painfully so, wasn't bad enough, AngelFyre would get to add a sneezing fit to the mix. Pea would produce a respectful Steleus and hurl it towards AngelFyre, her accurecy giving AngelFyre's a run for it's money. Sneezes would echo out across the stage as the magic connected with it's victim.
Spared from being targeted, Emma had time to focus. She sent a Bullarum Immortalem Hui's way. If you forgot the spoiler from early, the bubbles would land! Or maybe better described as floated onto the snake. There was no escaping these harmless looking bubbles. Harmless until you tried to cast with them in the way.
Each team's strategy had worked, would they be able to follow through? Or had the other team's plan been too good?

Emma was thankful that her spell had landed this round. She couldn't resist doing a little success dance in her spot, and sing chanting "I did it." But then she remembered that poor AngelFyre had taken both spells, one of which had been intended for her. Looking over to her partner, she grimaced, saying "oops that was a bit bad to celebrate when you have.....well all of the spells hit......you. " Emma waved her free hand in AngelFyre's direction, feeling bad for her, as the poor hufflepuff couldn't stop sneezing. Grimacing, she turned back to face their opponents, her free hand fiddling with the sleeve of her robe, clutching and unclutching it before pulling and pushing on it.
Hopefully this meant better things for their side next time. After all, she certainly didn't want to get hit and AngelFyre was already suffering enough.

Slytherin vs Hufflepuff: Match 9

OOC note : All of Pea's word and action are all 100% for the purpose of her character- please don't take anything to heart. >.<
The girl with the blonde hair is quick on her feet and pointing her wand again at her partner. But before Pea could do anything about it, Ming was hit with the spell and is blindfolded. The white-haired gaze follows the spell that hits her partner and grunts in anger. Thankfully, Ming cast his spell too before he got hit by the blindfolding spell. It didn't hit his target, but she was glad it hits the giggly girl instead. Now at least she has a real reason to laugh, might be painful for her, she deserves it though, Pea thought. But her pain would not end there, Pea points her wand at Angelfyre, -this is for blindfolding her partner. Pea cast her spell perfectly at the blonde with a little pep in her step. Obviously, the spell lands beautifully at the blonde. Not only she is now tickled to death, now she is also sneezing uncontrollably. Pea smirks charmingly at her opponent, and their audience, topping it off with a flip of her hair confidently. Maybe too confidently, she was distracted that the scared Hufflepuff manage to get a grip on herself and cast yet another spell on Ming.
"Bubbles... really?" She rolls her eyes and snickers at the girl. But Pea moves her gaze unto Ming's direction again, and the white-haired girl actually looks concerned, but obviously refuses to show it. So she shows it another way, "Try getting a grip on yourself now." She says while looking at Ming with her eyebrows furrowed. Alright- this is time she needs to be more focused, and show them who is gonna be winning this duel.

Slytherin vs Hufflepuff: Match 9

Mentions: @Simon KincaidThe poor showing that had been displayed by everyone in the first round was more than made up for in the second. The piste lit up with 4 successful casts and everyone hit their targets. Well, not everyone. It would be more precise to say that all 4 spells landed, but Ming’s casting, while ultimately effective against AngelFyre herself, had been sloppy… very, very sloppy. The intended target had been Emma, but the boy had had zero control over where it went once it left his wand. EXTRA! EXTRA! Read All About It! Hui Ming Mistakes Dueling Match for a Game of Russian Roulette is what the headline in her head looked like, which once again, she thought was kind of funny. It could just as easily have landed on his strutting pea hen of a partner who, quite justifiably so, might be just a little concerned about her partner right about now and wondering whether his capability to target his spells could give an entirely different meaning to ‘I have your back, partner’. **wink wink**
Sure, he could feel good about having done damage and seeing a spell leave his wand, but AngelFyre already knew based on his haughty comment to her earlier, which had simply been dripping with snide superiority, that he was the type who was internally seething inside about such an embarrassing display. How could he, the most special of all the special people in a school full of nothing but special people, have been so off his game in that moment? AngelFyre neither knew nor did she particularly care. All she knew was that little chestnut of self-doubt could take root in his mind as he sat there blindfolded and that could prove to be useful.
Still, pragmatist that she was, she had to give the devils their due. She herself knew, in the end, whether Ming’s spell hit Emma or herself, it hardly mattered operationally in the grander scheme of things. Their pound(s) of flesh had been excised. AngelFyre did feel enormous pride in her blindfold cast though. It was textbook perfect. Ming had not stood a chance. She was still in this to win it, but no matter how it ultimately went down, she knew Simon had at least been witness to that bit of casting artistry from her wand as he cheered her on from his place in the crowd. That alone made her exceedingly happy. Anything else that she may accomplish for the rest of this match would simply be gravy as her mother liked to say.
One perfect “Obscuro” now behind her, AngelFyre found there was no time to revel in it. Anyone who knew her knew that she was quick to laugh, and my was she doing a whole lot it right now… painfully so. There is that thin edge of the sword where enjoyment crosses over into torment, and torment might be a bit strong to describe the incessant tickling she could not quell within her for the time being, but that was really just semantics at this point. It was darn uncomfortable and was only made worse by the sneezing… lots and lots of sneezing. The laughing everyone could hear. Her sneezing? Not so much. Maybe Emma, but only because she was the closest. AngelFyre had always been a quiet sneezer, not that it mattered. All she knew was that her ribcage and chest were taking a beating now, and when one sneezed, their eyes closed. It was an automatic reflex. That could prove very problematic in the next round.
She looked over to Emma and smiled a smile of encouragement. She would not try to articulate in the moment because, for one thing, she honestly did not know if she was able to do so, and for another, she did not want to give anything away to the snakes about her capabilities, or lack thereof. She also wanted to try to conserve energy for her next casting which could be as disastrous as her last one had been perfect.
And given all of that, messy as it was, she reached up to her badger pin and thought to herself how much she loved dueling. Doing her best to focus for the next round, AngelFyre got into position.
The magic is real.

Interacting: @Pea Elena FowlFour simultaneous casts. Ming could not help but feel a pang of vindication as the badgers simply repeated their spells from the previous round. If it fails the first time, try and try again until it succeeds. Was that a mark of bullheadedness, or stupidity?
For his own case, his spell had veered widely off his intended target, but ultimately hit the mark he had called. A relief, for he would totally claim credit for it later when the Vipers reviewed his performance after the duel. It would hardly do to be cast into the dreaded snake pit like @Percival Gray had been.
Ming did not have long to muse about his thoughts. For, contrary to Einstein's theory's, apparently doing the same things and expecting different results held water in this school. Ming was surrounded by a wave of bubbles, as a blindfold successfully managed to bind his vision.
Snap.
Ming's mind went into overdrive. He knew exactly what he had to do. Hopefully, his partner did too.
"Just like practice, Miss Fowl"

It seemed the duelists would keep the action going. However one sided the action was.
Poor, poor Hui. Total darkness was not a fun place to anticipate magic from. He would only be able to hear what may possibly be headed his way. But perhaps the scariest thing would be the unexpected. His own teammates spell, Tarantallegra, would not find its way over to one of the badgers. No, Pea’s aim would slip, just like Hui’s had last round. And her magic would be the first to touch the blinded boy.
But that wasn’t the last dose of magic for Hui. No, AngelFyre would work up a textbook perfect Flipendo for him. Once the incarnation had been uttered the spell took off a lightning speed. Galton almost thought he heard a little sonic boom as it left the wand.
One last duelist had her own cast to add to the assault of Hui. Emma would utter the very same incantation as her partner, however her flipendo would never appear. It was a textbook cast, but not the kind you’d hope to mimic on the dueling piste.
Hui would get his blindfold off at the last second, just enough time to see the flipendo that would connect with his shoulder and send him flying backwards, then plummeting to the ground. He had to be reeling from a hit like that. Galton would be surprised if he still had any wind in his lungs. Even from the ground you could see Hui’s feet begin to try and tap away to an invisible beat. Possibly an erratic heart beat?
The badgers (and a snake) had capitalized on Hui’s blindness. Had they shifted favor onto their side of the piste?

Slytherin vs Hufflepuff: Match 9

[quote][quote]
Her chest was aching from the black magic fingers she had envisioned bringing to bear the somewhat maniacal laughter that had emanated from her as the dastardly things tickled and twisted within her during that round. The laughter was painful, but the sneezing was just an irritation, dang it. The fear of the closed eyes during a a sneezing fit while casting bothered her more than the physical inconvenience and irritation ever could. Ah well, there was nothing for it but to push through it and keep as focused as she possibly could.
Sneezing and laughing aside, AngelFyre could hardly have asked for a better round. Her "Flipendo!" sent Ming rocketing backwards to land on his backendo after her spell landed on the shoulder of his casting arm. It was honestly a thing of beauty to see him propelled backwards just as he removed the blindfold. To add insult to his injury, his partner played her own round of Russian Roulette as her 'Tarantallegra' was aimed at Emma but hit... you got it... her partner, Ming, instead.
'With enemies opponents like these, who needs friends?'
Oh, gosh AF.... really? she scolded herself while trying not to laugh. The last thing she needed was more laughing. Sheesh!
In any case, there was still a lot more dueling to be done and no more time to to dawdle on the past. She and Emma were looking pretty strong right now, but would it last? Three silent, but quick-fire sneezes later, AngelFyre hoped so. Dueling was much easier with eyes open, that was for certain.
Once again she smiled and nodded over at Emma, but did not speak. How long the sneezing would go on was anyone's guess, but AngelFyre would attempt to channel her inner peace and serenity while reaching up to her badger pin. Silencing everything extraneous around her, she took her place once again across from her opponents and readied her self for the next round.
We can do this. Emma and I can definitely do this.
The magic is real.

Every thing that happened just now- it is either the universe playing a joke on them, or Ming just have one of the unluckiest day in his life. Because not only he was blindfolded, with bubbles constantly blocking his view. Her spell somehow lost its way and hits him too. ON TOP OF THAT, AF has fired a really strong knockback Jinx right at his chest! making him topple onto the floor. Pea really didn't know whether she should feel bad or laugh. Well, again she 'accidentally' choose the latter. The white-haired girl couldn't help but laugh at her partner, not even caring that this are not a good situation for their team. But just the scene that she saw in front of her eyes, is too funny to be ignored. "Oh, GOD! You should've seen it MING! It was hilarious!" Still laughing maniacally at the boy on the ground. But as she saw their opponent starts to snicker again, Pea turn her head menacingly at them, "HEY, only I can laugh at him!" While going back to her duelling position.

Emma was disappointed when she didn't cast her spell, but at least AngelFyre landed hers. And it was quite amusing to see the blindfolded Ming be thrown backwards. What made the move even more brilliant is his own partner, Pea, tried to cast a spell at her but only succeeded in causing more damage to her partner. They actually seemed to have a shot or at least Emma felt more confident in their chances of winning.
She was hoping that Angelfyre's sneezing would soon go away, because while not annoying in terms of sound, it could potentially cause difficulties in casting spells. And since Emma didn't have very much confidence in her own spellcasting she was hoping that Angelfyre would be able to take the lead in that case. She seemed to be doing quite well already.

Minor edit: Fixing some typos and errant codingDespite being blindfolded, Ming was calm. A half step back, taking a stance closer to fencing than dueling. This was all within acceptable deviation of his plans. He just had to undo the blindfold and then--
A spell came hurtling at him from the side, and all thought stopped.
This wasn't part of the plan, what--
There were some words being said, but the bespectacled snake paid them no mind. He had just taken off the blindfold, and was about to leap into action hen a knockback jinx knocked him right off his feet.
Well. That can't possibly be good.
