I'm curious about you setting your thread during the summer when you're a first year only in September. In order for you to have those you pinged be your friends, they would have had to know you before you came to Hogwarts or you would have had to have met them during summer camp. It could make sense if their families knew each other. Like, technically, you and Regi could backdate a thread to 2018 (when you were 7) if you really wanted to, and could set it in London or Elsewhere. First years now could do something similar.
