A Snake, a Badger and Peanut

Irina was in a good mood on that afternoon. She had finish her classes for the day and homework was almost done too, so she decided to went outside to enjoy the sunny and warm temperature.
She always loved to be in nature, the feeling of peace and how she always felt relaxed and happy among the trees, flowers...with all it's scents and landscapes. She took a blanket with her, so she could sit more comfortable on the ground, a book so she could be enjoying her reading and a bag with some pumpkin pastries her favorites.
She was in the middle of one of her book's sentences when she saw a fluffy red tail through the corner of her eye. She lifted her eyes from the book on her hands to see what was it. It was a lovely cat with red and tabby fur. At the sun light the fur seemed to shine in a beautiful orange color. The cat seated in the grass near Irina's blanket closing it's eyes enjoying the warm weather too. It's a beautiful cat...where is it's owner? Is he lost? Irina thought looking around and towards the castle to see if someone was looking for him. Was when she saw her friend Riri. Rita Su, the sweetest Hafflepuff she ever met! To be honest...the only Hufflepuff she ever talked too.
Oh! is he Peanut? She remembered the last conversation with her friend at the Quidditch Pitch the other day. She slowly then, to not scare the beautiful feline, stood up and waved to Riri, so she could see her, "Riri! Hey! Is he Peanut?" She called pointing towards the lazy, sleeping cat.

It was just a sunny afternoon on Oct. 4th, before students at other magic schools arrived at Hogwarts for the ball. The autumn sun was warm and comfy, not too hot compared to the summer at around 20 degrees. The sky was crystal blue with white clouds, and the little breeze just blew up Rita`s hair. It is the perfect weather for going out and meet with friends. Rita had finished her classes and homework, so she got nothing to do for the afternoon. Rita finally decided to take her cat Peanut out to the outdoor club area and meet with Irina.
When Rita arrived at the outdoor club area, Irina was already there, sitting relaxedly on a comfy blanket, waiting for her to come. Irina clearly saw Rita arriving and asked Rita if the cat was her cat Peanut. The answer is an absolute yes. Rita also sat on a comfy blanket waved to Irina with a smile, "Good afternoon, Irina. How is your day? The weather is really nice today, sunny but not too hot. Perfect for going outdoors. Yeah, this is my lovely cat Peanut. Look how pretty he is. I believe he will like you as well. So, do you have any plans for the afternoon? Or we just sit here and chill? By the way, do you have any plans for the upcoming ball? Do you have any ball dates and stuff? I know students from other school are gonna arrive at Hogwarts tomorrow, and I think the welcome feast will be quite interesting!" Peanut meowed and slowly felt asleep. Rita smiled at Irina again before she lay comfortably on her blanket to chill out for the afternoon.

When Rita reached Irina, she sat comfortably on the blanket next to her friend. With a smile she waved to Irina greeting her. She asked how has been her day and introduced her to Peanut, the beautiful lazy cat who slept enjoying the warmth of the last rays of the sun. "Hey Riri! My day has been fine, you know...classes, homework...but now it become much better, being outside relaxing with my favorite hufflepuff and my favorite cat! How has been yours?" Irina asked with a smile on her face and a small laugh,"I don't have any plans, but being here seated comfortably and chat!" Irina turned then to pick up her bag, taking the pumpkin pastries that she brought. giving one towards Rita, "Do you want one?" Giving a small bite on her own pastry, she then continued to answer her friend, "If I have plans to the ball? well I'll be there definitely, even without a date I'm sure I'll find my friends there! I wouldn't miss free food and a ball with a Faerie Tale theme, the decorations would be stunning I'm guessing! What about you? Do you have a date? I've never been with students from other schools...do you know anyone? Are they nice? My cousin Rita went to Beauxbaton but I don't think she's coming here this year!" Irina then lay down next to Riri closing her eyes enjoying the sun on her face.

What a relaxing sunny afternoon! Rita was there, sitting on a comfy blanket under the warm but not too hot autumn sun and the blue sky with white clouds, with her friend Irina lying beside her chatting with her and her lovely cat Peanut sleeping quietly on the other side of her. Irina even handed Rita a pumpkin pastry she bought. Rita thanked Irina for her kindness and put the pastry into the mouth. It was of course really delicious, and the relaxing afternoon vibe made it even more enjoyable to eat the pastry. Rita could have brought some drinks, sadly she forgot to bring them.
"Thank you for your delicious pastry. I am having a great day; the classes were a bit stressful, but bringing my lovely cat Peanut to sit comfortably with one of my best friends really released my stress. Such a relaxing afternoon to spend with you!" Rita smiled to Irina as she responded to her, "I also don`t have a date for the ball, but @Tesla Stone, a young Hufflepuff, agreed to go to the ball with me as friends. I also don`t know any student from other schools. But the Faerie Tale theme seems interesting, and I can`t wait to interact with some new people and make some new friends during the ball. Wait, you have a cousin named Rita? What a coincidence! What a surprise! Sadly, I think I could ever meet her since Beauxbaton is in France. Unless she travels to Hogwarts. What do you think?"

Peanut, this lovely ball of red fur, was now stretch his front legs, not taking his belly from the ground and making a long curve with his back. He's tail made a quick loop in the air and the lazy cat changed his position to fall asleep again at his side. "Maybe i'll want a cat after all!" Irina noticed to herself. Beside she has been more a dog's person then a fan of cats. Peanut was making his way to her heart the mischievous feline!
Rita told her smiling that she doesn't have a date to the ball, but she was going with a friend. "I wish to be like you Rita, you're so easy going and such a nice person, you know? That kind of person that everyone wants to be friend with! I guess it's why you're an hufflepuff!" Irina laughed kindly to her friend, "Like, I don't have that thing for going and talking with everyone!" she made a half smile looking at Riri, " and yes, my best friend and cousin's name is also Rita! Rita Meyer. I really miss her you know? She knows me like no one else! I hope she's coming here next time yes, so I can intrude her to Hogwarts and to all my new friends! She is more like you...she's very extroverted, funny, and cheerful! I think you would like her! She would definitely love to be here with us right now, sharing pumpkin pastries!" Irina remembered then that her friend was going to have her first quidditch match soon, "How is going your training for the quidditch match? Do you want my help for more practice? You know I don't mind to train with you! I don't mind at all! You know, I finally got courage and signed up for chaser's position at Slytherin's! Hopefully one day we would be really playing against each other!"

Rita smiled to Irina with some pride when Irina praised Rita for being an easy-going and nice girl, "Thanks Irina, it is very nice of you to say that. You are also a very nice and friendly girl, and I enjoy chatting with you. It is very lucky to have a friend like you!" Rita paused and turned to Irina to see her reaction when she is about to change topic. Seeing Irina nodding with a smile, Rita continued to speak.
"It seems that your cousin Rita is also a very nice girl! I should definitely meet her, and it will be great if you can introduce me to her when she arrives at Hogwarts next time!" Rita spoke delightfully about that to Irina, thinking it must be nice to meet someone with the name first name from another school, "By the way, since the matches are very soon, only in a few days, today is already the 4th, maybe we can practice Quidditch in the Quidditch training pitch again next time to prepare for the races! Do you want to do the same thing, me striking the bludger and you escaping from it, or do you want to practice something different? I actually want to practice something different, but I have no idea what else we should do. Do you have any idea what else we can do, Irina? Besides, would you have time on the 14th to spectate the Quidditch match? I hope so, but you don`t have to if you have other arrangements that day. One more thing, it is great that you finally signed up to be a chaser! It must be interesting to compete again one of your best friends! Sure, there is competition and rivalry, but I don`t think we will break the bond even though we compete against each other! Anyway, do you have anything else to ask me? I suppose it is time for dinner very soon. Maybe that`s all for today if you don`t have anything else to ask!" Rita smiled again at her dear Slytherin friend and waited to see her reaction.

"The idea of practicing something different sounds fun for me...but I'm with you, not sure what! Do you think we can build a team? At least three for three? Two beaters, two chasers and tow keepers? You know everyone...do you think we could do that, between your friends and mine? That would be fun, and an opportunity for others that don't belong to the quidditch team to play!" Irina smiled hopefully at her Riri. "I'll try to be there Riri! I promise! I don't want to miss supporting your first quidditch game! Of course we will not brake our bond because we will compete against each other, I think it will be the opposite! But I can tell you that I'm very competitive...I may say somethings that I'm sure I'll go to regret later, after our future games! So don't mind what I say in those heated moments ok? I can't control sometimes my evil side!" She laughed then, that's ridiculous but the true nonetheless, she thought it was better to warn her friend from that flaw of her. "You right, it's time for dinner...should we go? Don't forget to ask your friends if they are up to a quidditch training match, if you agree with the idea! What do you say, next weekend?" Irina asked, starting to put her book on her bag.

Rita was a bit surprised when Irina come up with the idea of asking her friends to play Quidditch with them. Why did she not come up with this idea? It was actually a quite good idea! The only question is although she did have several friends, she did not know whether they play Quidditch or not. "Maybe I can just put a recruitment poster to look for a few friends to practice Quidditch with. We will put on a mini match, with two players in each category as Irina said, that`s 2 seeker, 2 keeper, 2 beaters, and 2 chasers. And the match will take place on the same week as the actual Quidditch match, maybe on the 12th. That`s it!" Rita thought.
"That`s a very good idea, Irina! I think we can even hold a mini match, with two players in each category as you suggested to get players familiar with the match format. I`ll put a recruitment poster to look for friends to participate in the match. I actually want it to take place on the same week as the actual match, maybe 12th or 13th. What do you think? Also, I would tell them in the poster that Irina is a bit competitive when she plays!" Rita smiled at Irina, hoping to see her approval, "If you agree with that, we shall call it a day and leave here to have dinner and do other things!"
