"bring it here!!" the middle blocker called out, with a smirk Ace set the ball in the best way for the hitter to spike it. It was a ball that came a little off the net, and was high. Ace knew this was his favorite one to hit. The game had just begun. They were in the lead with 8 - 3.
smack
The ball hit the court, Another point. 9 - 3. "Nice Kill!!" Ace called out to his teammate, oddly he looked familiar.
smack
again! They got more and more, the other team scored on occasion. But they stayed in the lead, there momentum never fading. Soon it reached set, and match point. If they got this point, they would be the best. Ace's dream since he was a kid would become a reality. There Lebrio received the ball, like always it glided into the air, and connected to Aces hands. The opponents were ready to triple block. Ace would set the ball again to the middle blocker, Right to the teams ace. It flew in the air, as middle hit the ball the other teams blockers jumped, to try and block it.
Like they could. smack. The game was there's, they won. Finally Ace was the best. He had proved himself. Ace couldn't help but smile. The crowd was chanting his name, "ace.. ace.... ace.... Ace.... Ace!"
Then he woke up. His mom was the one saying his name "morning mom...." He grogly said as he rubbed his eyes. "I just had the best dream ever." He told his mother. "You just slept an hour past your alarm thats what you did" She laughed.
Ace looked at his bedside table, his clock said just what his mom had told him. A photo of him and his friend Andrew Grace sat next to the clock. Funny. Andrew looked just like the middle blocker in his dream. "tell me about your dream" She said as she sat on the edge of his bed. Ace smiled.
"I was at the world championship for Volleyball, my team was winning! My sets were on point. Soon we made it to the last set, match point. The other team tried a triple block, but my middle hitter hit right through the all. the wham! We won." he summarized. "Im going to have that dream again mom, I will keep having it until it comes true. Mark my word."
"ohh im marking. Before your the best can you have some breakfast with your family?" He nodded, and got ready for food.

"Dreams? Did people really remember their dreams? Maybe some people do, but definitely not me." Charlotte woke up at 7 o`clock in the morning, and once again, having no idea what she dreamed last night, and start thinking, "I think I probably had a dream last night, I can remember it at night, but when I wake up in the morning, I have no idea what I dreamed the night before. My mind is blank when I wake up in the morning most of the time, but I do remember what I dreamed for in rare occasions, such as having a terrible nightmare of ghosts haunting my rooms and things like that when I watch horror movies, and I watch horror movies once in a blue moon. So, most of the time I really cannot remember what I dreamed the night before when I wake up in the morning. Anyway, that`s it. I shall stop thinking for now, quickly put my clothes on, head to the washroom to brush my teeth, wash my face, and comb my hair. My parents are probably waiting for me to have breakfast downstairs. I shall be quick, or else my parents would be mad at me."Week 3 prompt
What does your character dream about? Do they dream? Why or why not? What is their attitude towards sleep? How do they interpret these dreams?
However, there was one time that Charlotte remembered a dream, and it was not a very good dream. It was several years ago, back in Charlotte was still in the fourth grade of her old public primary school. That afternoon, the teacher in Charlotte`s primary school played a movie to her and her classmates, a classic French movie called Les Choristes. It was definitely not a horror movie. Instead, it was a movie about a substitute teacher using choir to lighten up a bunch of students who has troubled behavior. However, there was a student in the school who transferred from a juvenile institution and is intellectually impaired. The school principal and the polite all thought the student had stolen money, so he became mad at the school and ended up setting the school on fire. Young Charlotte was terrified by the student setting the school on fire and had a nightmare of the student setting her own school on fire. It sounds stupid to present Charlotte at nearly age 18, but Charlotte remembers that dream vividly even though it happened many years ago. That`s why she has never watched that movie for the second time. She does not want to have the fire setting nightmare for the second time. She still remembered she did not sleep much that night, but still woke up at roughly 6:25am the next morning.

I Dreamed a Dream
What does your character dream about? Do they dream? Why or why not? What is their attitude towards sleep? How do they interpret these dreams?
Dream #1 ~ Morning of October 11
The handsome face of Lazarus Lavey drifted through her subconscious mind. The two were on the grounds of Hogwarts and they were holding hands. They sat down on a bench together and face each other. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
-end of dream-
Taisia woke up with a start. Another dream about Lazarus. She didn't normally feel like going back to sleep, but she needed to find out how this dream ended. Was it a telling of the future? Or was it her hopeful mind? She really hoped it was the former.
Dream #2 ~ Night of October 14
A man rode a broomstick. He was high in the sky. Taisia's breath was ragged from running so far. The man on the broomstick dipped down again and fired a curse at her. She dodged it, keeping an eye on the foliage ahead of her. As the man on the broom had to fly up again because of the treetops she sprinted to the end of the clearing and dived into the bush on the edge of the forest. Her chaser continued, clueless of her deceit. Sh didn't have long until he went past the next clearing, saw she wasn't there and doubled back so she sprinted back to the other side of the clearing, to where she had come from. She dived into a bush before the man could spot her. He flew back overhead and even though it seemed he was attempting to be quiet, he wasn't.
-end of dream-
Dream #3 ~ Morning of October 16
Taisia was on a train. She could see the flashing landscapes through the windows, they were slowing maybe she could try to figure out where she was. The exit whistle blew and something made Taisia realise she must have to get off. She stepped out, into the station and looked around for whoever it must be who was waiting for her. Then she saw her family! Most people seemed to be getting off and seeing their family. She noticed her friend Irina Sousa, crush Lazarus Lavey and so many more people that she knew or recognised, all of them from Hogwarts. They must be on Platform
93/4. She sprinted over to her family, Althea first. Even though she was ten, Odelia jumped on her back.
-end of dream-
Taisia woke up, angered by the wake that the dream ended. She wasn't homesick, but she still wanted to see her family! She started to compose a letter to them.

Preptober Writing Prompts Week 3
Lili yawned. It was midnight already and she hadn't even made her bed yet. She snatched up her blanket and flung it over herself, too tired to do anything else. Sleep was probably the best part of the day. As soon as her head hit the pillow, she fell asleep and almost immediately started dreaming. What does your character dream about? Do they dream? Why or why not? What is their attitude towards sleep? How do they interpret these dreams?
"What the-" Lili awoke. "It must be 2 AM.... Rubi you awake?" Lili called out to her sister sleeping next to her. "Yes. I am." Rubi replied. "I had a dream, it was great at the same time scary." Lili said. "Did we escape again?" Rubi asked hopefully. "Because if you dream about something too much it starts to have a high chance of happening. According to my experience in life, it's happened twice to me already." Lili ignored this. "Nope, not escaping. Something better. I was in a family that actually loved me and cared for me. I had a pet fox, and- and you were eating like everything you wanted to. Then I looked out of a window and I saw the same view I'd see now if you looked out of our window." Lili explained. "You dream about that probably because you want to be cared for so badly." Rubi teased, half serious. In the afternoon, Lili was frolicking outside in the busy streets. The heat was unbearable, but the sun was barely out. Her sister Rubi was eating fruits, and Lili saw none of her other sisters. She flung the door open to her house, and casually walked into the house like nobody's business. A red fox ran around the living room, knocking everything over but nothing even fell apart. Lili ignored such a thing. "I'm back from school mother." She said to one of her mothers.
Excellent, how was your day? I'm assuming it was good, wasn't it?" Lili nodded, and sat at the dining table next to the fox. The fox looked at Lili in a strange way, and started flying. Lili took no notice of this, she started eating, like normal. The fox started humming a familiar melody. A gust of wind blew past, shaking the curtains gently. A few small pebbles jumped into the tea pot near the window. The curtains fell to the floor after a while, Lili went to put them back. Instead, she saw a city below her, it was night, and she was on the second floor.
"Whatever, goodnights girl."
"Oh my gosh Lili are you okay?" Rubi asked. "Yes. What is it, 4 in the morning? Yes, 4. I just had a terrible dream... the one I always have." Rubi understood. "I get it.... let's gossip now, since we have nothing better to do.""I WILL BECOME IMMORTAL IN TEN, NINE, EIGHT, SEVEN,"
Charlotte started counting. "No!" Lili screamed. "Stop it! It's- it's fake...!" Rubi lied to Charlotte's face. "SHUT UP I CAN'T HEAR YOU.... SIX, FIVE, FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE! NOW!!!!!" Charlotte smirked as a green liquid exploded and she became immortal. "I AM IMMORTAL!!!" Charlotte sang, in a very weird voice. "WAKE UP LILI AUCLAIR AT THIS MOMENT YOU HAD THIS DREAM 1000 TIMES WAKE UP WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Lili suddenly screamed on top of her lungs.
Rubi (the one in the dream) eyes widened. "How can you be sure? Charlotte is immortal and it sounds like something she'd do in REAL life!" Rubi said as Charlotte's face turned from happy to angry. "I wake you up young lady, you don't wake yourself!" Lili face turned annoyed. "Just great, I'm waking up.. bye bye dream people have fun!!" She said as her eyes opened.

Ow. My hands broke my fall, but the dirt got all over my graphic t-shirt and jeans. I heard the panic of my aunt, so I quickly got up, and gave her a thumbs up to indicate that I wasn't injured. Soccer was always my favorite sport, and it was the perfect weather to play. It rained quite a bit normally, so a pleasant day was to be taken full advantage of. Brushing the dirt off my clothes, Marci, my best friend ran up to me. "Are you okay? That was a rough fall." I gave her the biggest smile I could muster, even though my left leg had sharp pains from my ankle to my upper shin. "I'm fine! Ready for another round?" Accidentally leaning on my injured leg, I winced, and Marci didn't miss it. "What was that?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at me. I laughed, and waved her off. She was definitely still skeptical, but then again, that was kind of her entire personality. What does your character dream about? Do they dream? Why or why not? What is their attitude towards sleep? How do they interpret these dreams?
The next game started, and as usual, I was the goalie. Trying my best not to lean on my left leg, several balls went through the net I was supposed to be guarding, and it was clear I was off my game. At this point, I couldn't come clean, I was in too deep. Only when the pain shot up and I fell to the ground again, did I admit the fact my leg was burning with pain. Sitting me down, Marci looked at me condescendingly, and I tried not to meet her eyes. "Coral, I love you, but this was really stupid, you know that right?" I glared at her. "It's just- the weather is really- stop laughing!"
We both laughed for a bit, and I felt happier I have for a long time. But then, I blinked, and I was back in my bed, covered in my favorite blanket. I couldn't help scowling, why couldn't I have stayed in the wonderful land of dreams for a few more minutes? I've never liked sleeping or dreams, I prefer to live life in the moment, and sleeping is just a waste of time, in my opinion. If I could, I would never sleep, just bask in the sun. And play soccer. I love soccer.

Preptober Writing Prompts Week 3
Pax was feeling quite tired that night, and all she wanted was to get to sleep. On-time. She didn't want to, because she often had nightmares instead of dreams nowadays, and as soon as her eyes closed, she would have the most vivid dreams. Sometimes they were lucid, and sometimes they weren't. She could never figure her dreams out. Plus, they felt so real... she got into the top bunk of the 3-bed bunk bed, got under the covers, and fell asleep. As soon as she drifted off into the magical land beyond consciousness, she was standing in a white room. If it even was a room...she was in her pajamas, and she was the only person/thing in the empty white abyss. Pax looked around nervously. She bit her lip and took a step forward, and the ground started disappearing under her feet. Panicking, Pax started to run, the white tiles of the "floor" crumbling as she ran. She kept running until the crumbling tiles finally caught up with her. The tile that she was standing on disappeared under her feet, and Pax screamed as she fell through empty darkness, the sensation of falling and staying still at the same time following her as she tumbled through the silent darkness. When she stopped, she was in a room. There was a circular table with a little bottle of light blue liquid and a tiny cake or pastry on a napkin. Guess what the little treats were labeled as? EAT ME and DRINK ME. This felt like some wacko rendition of Alice in Wonderland, make that Pax in Wonderland...? Past the table and treats, there was the tiniest keyhole in the world, with no door that it was part of. Weird. If Pax remembered correctly, she was supposed to drink the potion. So she did. She felt herself shrinking, everything around her getting bigger. She looked at the keyhole, which looked to be as big as a door now. She walked through it, and found not a cheerful little mushroom frest, but dark and creepy woods, branches stretching out in the moonlight, shadows moving in the night. The wind howled and whistled, and everything just had a creepy and dangerous aesthetic to it.. Pax was not only tiny, but she was also in the center of it all, meaning that she could very much get lost in the thorns and thickets. She walked briskly, her pajamas providing little warmth against the unforgiving winds. Pax navigating the thorns and sticks, which seemed as big as trees since she was one inch tall. And then, she heard the stomping of feet. She felt like she was being picked up, and then pocketed, by what, a giant? Pax was screaming, and not just in her dream. She heard people calling her name. "Pax? Pax! Pax, wake up!" Pax woke up. There was Callista and Pomona, staring at her with worry. "You all right? You were screaming," said Pomona. "I was?" Pax asked. "It was only a weird dream..."What does your character dream about? Do they dream? Why or why not? What is their attitude towards sleep? How do they interpret these dreams?

Week 3 Prompt
What does your character dream about? Do they dream? Why or why not? What is their attitude towards sleep? How do they interpret these dreams?
Jess was no stranger to sleep paralysis. She had been experiencing the strange night terrors since she was young. As a child, she thought her house was haunted. She would wake and hear footsteps down the hall coming toward her room. Suddenly, the blankets would incase her, and she'd be trapped in her bed. Something would crawl out from underneath the door and begin to slink up her leg. She couldn't turn her head to see it; the blankets were too tight. She never remembered what happened next. She would wake up the next morning, thinking about the dark corners of her bedroom closet or what may live in the creepy basement. But she never thought to tell her mother about what she experienced—and it only sometimes stopped her from sleeping in her room. After the morning truly got going, the light of the sun shining on her as she ate her Fruit Loops, she'd mostly forget about the previous night's horrors.
Now the phenomenon had a name. Sleep paralysis. Your brain wakes up, but the part of your brain that produces dream imagery and the part that paralyzes you to stop you from acting out those dreams stays on. So you literally lie there in a waking dream. This happened so often to Jess that it no longer phased her. It would be terrifying in the moment, but the moment would pass. She had begun to recognize it.
And that's exactly what she felt on stage during their first week of on-their-feet rehearsals. They were working on the first scene, the scene where the girls surprise Marmee with Christmas presents. Ms. Wilson offered little direction outside of what was already written in the stage directions. So the girls had silently begun to direct themselves. Jess was standing next to Reagan, feeling that this was the right moment to counter each other so the future audience would see Reagan for her most important lines. Jess went to move her foot, and she felt it. Her body was frozen, and she felt that familiar sinking feeling in her brain, like she was falling backward inside her own mind. Her eyes were open but didn't work the same way they had moments before—her vision was fuzzy, like someone else had control of her eyes. This was what she always felt before the scary bits kicked in. But it had never happened to her while standing, while not sleeping, let alone in the middle of the day during rehearsal.

Preptober Writing Prompts Week 3
Dreams. Are they random activity while one is sleeping or a doorway into one's subconscious mind? In Kieran Shaw's time, dreams were where a truth was revealed, whether advising you on a course of action to take or a prophecy. Depending on your dreams, this could be outright unsettling.I Dreamed a Dream
What does your character dream about? Do they dream? Why or why not? What is their attitude towards sleep? How do they interpret these dreams?
Before his father's death, dreams weren't always something that Kieran Shaw remembered much, with the exception of a series of dreams that stood out upon waking to reality because they were so odd. He would be in movement within the dream, either by walking or while on horseback, and attempting to travel great distances, but his vision had gone. It wasn't as if it was night, no, he knew that by the way birds still sang and he could feel sunlight upon his face, but rather his eyes just would not open.
He would always awaken from those dreams with his heart racing and a feeling of fear washed over him. It was as if, in the dreams, he was going blindly forward without any known direction, not casting caution to what hazards may be out there.
Perhaps it was his way of knowing that the Middle Ages that he lived in were plagued with dangers and one didn't ever know which one they might meet. There was illness in the plague, tuberculosis, dysentery, smallpox, sweating sickness, typhoid, influenza, mumps, infection, gastrointestinal infections, and more. There was famine and malnutrition, ergotism and poisoning. There was violence and bad weather and accidents.
Perhaps Kieran worried about the changes that he would someday face as he entered into the world and felt he would be blindly entering it. He was a farmer's son, and only that - having not taken the time to gather the knowledge needed to be a farmer himself. No, instead he had filled his mind with intellect and great thoughts, big thoughts, of high ambition - wanting to make a difference somewhere and be seen as someone of intelligence. Perhaps he had caused his own blindness.
There would eventually come a time where Kieran doesn't have these dreams anymore, as he ventures out into the world and discovers what it holds for him. Perhaps now that he is directing his own life and actually getting out there and living it, he no longer feels the need to blindly follow along. He is in charge of his own destiny.
Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)

What does your character dream about? Do they dream? Why or why not? What is their attitude towards sleep? How do they interpret these dreams?
Reducio
Sleep used to be Lumen's greatest escape, back when his love was alive. Nova had truly been the light of his life, and the irony of that was not lost on his with his role as Head Priest of Light. They'd had a beautiful friendship during their apprenticeships, nearly as close to each other as their patron gods were. Light and Dark, and their Priests Lumen and Nova.
They didn't get to see each other often during the waking hours of the day, since that was when Lumen worked most or Nova slept and did prayers himself. Nova's work was at night, guiding the moon and her people, and he commonly only rose during the day to attend a sacred funeral rite or speak with visitors of the dead. More memorably, he'd also crashed into Lumen's temple at dawn one time covered in the blood of necromancers with a wild glint in his eyes.
Since they couldn't see each other during the day, Nova did his best to visit Lumen in his dreams every chance he got. The Goddess would let him send a little piece of his spirit and magic to accompany Lumen through dreams that he shaped in the image of what the both of them cherished and loved, and it became their safe havens. Nova's escape from the constant darkness he so embraced, and Lumen's embrace into comfort and relaxation, so different from the hustle and bustle of the Light.
After the Goddess had claimed Nova and taken him from the world of Life Lumen's dreams turned sour. He hardly ever had them, and when he did they were always jumbled and echoed with voices of family and friends long dead. When those happened he'd call out for Nova, hoping that Night would give him one more chance to speak with him. He knew he'd never see him again, his immortality a blessing as much as a curse, and those dreams were much the same.
He knew it was Nova trying to reach out for him in any way he could. Just thinking about the gods keeping the two of them apart made Lumen twitch with rage, and in the days after one of those dreams that were a mockery of the ones he used to have he'd avoid sleep as best he could. There was always to be done, and he'd travel to the capitol island, or the southern reaches, or the mountain temples of other gods.
