Quidditch Hufflepuff Vs. Gryffindor- Fall 2022

Howard stood amongst his teammates with a slight grin across his usually stoic expression. Quidditch season was here and what else mattered? Many things obviously, but for at least this evening he could put aside the worries of teenaged life and enjoy the battle ahead. The nerves were of course there, yet age and experience had taught him how to channel this energy into something positive. Above all, it was time to have some fun!

“Stay calm, stay focused.” Howard called out to his team as he offered them reassuring pats on the shoulder or back. “Let’s show them what Hufflepuffs are made of!”

Akemi felt a familiar buzz as she entered the pitch, the cheers of both Gryffindor and Hufflepuff students filling the warm air. She had played volleyball since she was four, and the massive crowd wasn't a surprise, nor was the anxiety she felt right now. But even though she felt like she was prepared, and even if she had been practicing for the past month, something still bothered her.

This was a magic sport.

And even though Akemi's dad was a wizard, she had never played quidditch or any other wizarding sport. But this should be easy, right? You get the Quaffle and try to score. Simple.

It still seemed scary, though.

Akemi shook her head and gripped tighter onto her broom. She was going to make a good impression. She was going to dominate.

Another year, meant Qudditch was right around the corner. The nerves bounced off her as she jumped up and down a bit in line, waiting in the locker rooms. Then they were called onto the field. A mad grin lit up her face, hearing the roars of the crowd above and all around her. Tightening her grip on her broom, she'd make her way over to the bench and with some guidance, sat down. The cold wind bitterly nipped at her pale face, making her cheeks turn a rosy color. A shiver raked her spine but her knee bounced, keeping the small girl's body warmed up.

It was the first game of the season after all, no time for slacking. As she sat in her spot, her fellow teammates would cheer and either take a seat beside her or head towards their starting position on the field. She drew her fingers to her mouth and let out a sharp whistle, combining with all the other noise in the air. They had to be prepared for anything.

I was excited, nervous, and disappointed all at the same time. I was excited because it was my first Quidditch game here at Hogwarts, but then that lead to me being nervous. Since even though I was benched and I have played Quidditch a lot of times, if a Chaser gets injured, I'll have to go on and play, and that is a little nerve-racking. Then overall, I'm pretty disappointed because I don't get to play, and I am stuck staring at the players having the time of their life out there, while I am dying of boredom, and awaiting my call to be put on the pitch.

The only thing that will make me happy, other than playing today, is to see us win against Hufflepuff, and I don't have anything bad against them, I just really want to win. I look around me, and see the Gyrffindor team, all huddled in a group, having fun, and planning their strategy for the game. Soon the game will start, and that's when we'll see who the real winners are.

A new season was upon them. Pax could practically smell the excitement and anticipation laced in the air.

Evelynn had left the team, and Pax had mixed feelings on the matter. After all, it left them as one of the youngest captains, an incredible feat. However, they weren't sure if they were ready. And after such upturn of the roster, and students years older than them joining, would they listen to a second year? Well, they had better. Pax wasn't going to take any crap for long.

"Ok, listen up everyone," Pax called out to the team, waiting for them to all huddle around. "It's the first game of the season. Gryffindor came second last year, so we know that we can do better. Yes, it is imperative we have fun out there as that will reflect on how we play, but we also want to win. Remember what we've discussed and strategised. I have confidence in all of us, ok? We may be up against it, but our spirits are strong. GO GRYFFINDOR!"

As the group disbanded to their starting positions, Pax prepared themselves. They could feel a tough game ahead of them.

It was the start of another Quidditch season yet again. Stanley had been debating over the whole summer if he should leave the team before the first game. He had finally won a game and made his dad proud. Stan felt like his goal had been achieved and he could have a rest from all the action for a while. However, he decided against this decision and wanted to continue for a little bit longer.

The boy sat on the bench swinging his small legs while waiting for the match to start with a slight smile on his face. He knew that they would do their best and that's all that mattered. Stanley was in a good mood and was hopping to stay like that for the rest of the game.

Serena smiled as she walked onto the pitch. She had been looking forward to the Quidditch season starting up again, and it was finally time for the first match to begin. The weather was slightly warmer than it usually was this time of year, but the fourth year wasn't complaining. At least it wasn't raining or super windy. Serena took a deep breath and pulled her long, blonde hair into a ponytail. The fourth year got onto her broom and took her beginning lap around the pitch. After she finished her lap, she got into position, waiting for the game to begin.

It felt like a lifetime since Haley last stood on the field and she couldn't wait to get out of the locker room and onto the field. She could hear the commentator and the cheers from outside and she had goosebumps. Of course she was excited like before every game, but it was a positive excitement.

Time passed creepily but frantically at the same time and after a few minutes Haley found herself walking through the entrance again and all the sounds were now much louder. Immediately, a smile formed on her lips and she peered through the ranks. She kept an eye out for familiar faces and gave a quick wave to her friends before walking to her position with her broom in her right hand.

Quinn had been looking forward to this game for some time. He was excited ready and more than happy to bring the fun. Quinn smirked, his usual cheery and bearded self. He'd grown bigger again it was a wonder he fit into most doorways these days. Taking his massive broom, he flew out onto the pitch. "Well said, Howard. Stay alert, stay on your brooms and let's show em what us badgers are made of!" He laughed, doing his best to encourage his team, patting Howards shoulder.

"Relax my friend, we'll show em not to underestimate us. Remember our plan and let's get it." He smirked, a mischievous glint in his eye. He seemed more full of energy than ever.

It was time, time for another game of Quidditch. Ethen had spent the previous year so concerned with just surviving a game that he began to feel as though he wasn't contributing enough to its victory...Not to mention that he still had not actually made it all the way through a game without ending up on the ground. So it was time for a new approach. He would no longer worry about remaining on his broom. He would happily jump off himself if it meant that it would carry his team to victory. He had a renewed sense of competitiveness and knew that the other team would be right there to meet it.

As he began to move into his position, he could already hear a young chap from the other team trying to get into his head. The poor youth did not know that there was already very little going on in Ethen's head and distracting him was not quite an easy task. But in a benevolent mood, Ethen decided he would add his own bit of chaos to the game.

"Ohhhhhhh, Flying Badgers! Ohhhh Flying Badgers! Theeee time had comee, to kick these Gryffins in the bum! Ooooohhh Flying Badgers, the game is already won! EEEEYAHHHHHH!!" Ethen screeched out the last note with considerable volume while flapping his arms around. The boy would continue his obnoxious little song as he awaited the start of the game, hoping it would throw off some of their foes even a little
