REBELLION - Call me Quercy

Thymus walked through the halls, his eyebrows furrowed, I can't fucking believe it... He walked briskly as he made his way to the boy's lavatory, now let's not all pretend we don't go to the bathroom to get things sorted out. Thymus may do it though more than most... He blew down the doors, luckily no one was in the bathroom. He stormed in, placing both his hands on opposite sides of the sink he looked at the mirror. His long, dark, hair covered his pale, thin, face like a blanket. He grimaced, I look like a fucking clown or a mop. Using his hand he brushed his hair back to see his face, he had deep cheekbones, large dark eyes, large characteristic eyebrows and a gap between his two large front teeth. He grimaced scrunching his nose, taking a look at his back-from-the-past black clothes, his aunt chose his clothes. Why can't I ever wear what I want? Instead of looking like a creepy jerk. I mean I got it easy compared to some kids. He didn't care that people though he was weird, he never really cared what anyone thought, he didn't want friends, though he did admit he needed them... Who am I? he thought to himself. My Aunt says I'm an English boy, who must always look like a respectable young man, straighten my teeth, must not make friends or believe in love, do well in school, and most important forget about my parents and forget them... But who am I actually? I'm a Scottish boy who lives by rocky beaches, I like to play violin and accordion... and guitar... riddles, I don't believe in love, I do well in school, I'm strange and confusing, I love sea shanties, the classics, horror, and ROCK!... And most of all I miss my parents...
His dark hair fell back in front of his face, his eyebrows furrowed, he looked at himself in the mirror and touched his hair moving behind his ear which revealed his small black hoop earrings. My hair always feels like a million little needles in my eyes. Without thinking he took out scissors which he kept in his black backpack, he held it up to his long dark hair... SNIP!!! SNIP! SNAP! SNIP! It was too late he had already done it, he looked like a jerk, Damn... too bad... too late... I'm gonna be in trouble... Now I look like a rebellious punk... He fixed his hair and moved it around, he looked like another person... He couldn't believe it, he wasn't sure he liked it or not but... It was different. He smiled, revealing the gap in between his two large front teeth in the mirror. Rebellion... He stood up looking in the mirror taking his hands off the sink.

Beatrice walked through the halls on the Fourth floor. Her classes had ended for the day and she had changed from her Slytherin robes into something more comfortable. She had planned to go to the Courtyard but since it was way to full there, she had decided to wander through the Castle.

Before doing that tho, she wanted to wash her hands and look for a book that she had lost. It may sound weird but earlier this day she had packed it out of her Bag, desperately trying to find a quiet place to read for the time between classes.

She opened the door of the Lavatory, not looking where she was walking, which caused her to stumble over her own feet and fall onto the dirty lavatory floor. Eww, now I really need to wash my hands.

"Call me Quercy." A rather male sounding voice suddenly said. She looked up, the door closing behind her and making a rather loud sound. She immediately stood up.

»Ehh, alright Quercy.« She wasn't sure that his sentence was directed at her but she has heard it. Beatrice was debating on whether she should leave the boys lavatory or just wash her hands here. She decided that it would be weird to just walk out now, so she stepped next to the boy and let the water run over her hands.

While washing her hands, she noticed strands of hair in the Sink that the boy was standing in front of. They matched his hair color. She glanced at his face as she dried her hands but looked right down at her hands again. He seemed familiar but Beatrice could not put her finger on where she had seen him.

He couldn't believe it, he wasn't sure he liked it or not but... It was different. He smiled, revealing the gap in between his two large front teeth in the mirror. Rebellion... He stood up looking in the mirror taking his hands off the sink.
"Call me Quercy."
BANG! The doors of the lavatory closed hard, Quercy looked over to see a... Girl? In the boy's lavatory? Now... That was odd... But who was he too judge, he's the one who just cut his hair with a pair of scissors. The girl stood awkwardly for a second before coming up next to him by the sink to wash her hands. He noticed the his hair that was in the sink, he turned on the water to flush it down as the brunette girl washed her hands. What the... She came here to wash her hands? Well... Okay? I guess that's fine.
Quercy took a quick look at the girl, she was smaller than him, well... All the first years were smaller than him... Even though he was a first year too, she wore a coat, jeans, and a yarn vest. Quercy wore a black tee, large jeans, with his jacket tied around his waist and his combat boots. Not what he typical wore everyday... He grabbed his backpack to put away his camo design scissors back. The girl looked strangely familiar, and once again Quercy's curiousity got the best of him.
"Guid day, uh... A'm sorry a'm feelin' lik' a've seen ye afore...?" He said with a strong Scottish accent, he usually hid his accent with an English one, another thing of his aunt. "Ummm... An' a' if ye dinnae mynd mah saying, ye'v come a lang wey tae wash yer hauns, aye?"
After running the sink long enough to clear it if his freshly cut hair. He suddenly thought of something... How long had she been there? How much did she see, he was embarrassed, but he hid it well.
"'n'... Umm... Howfur muckle. Na! howfur lang hae ye bin thare?" He said looking at her with his large dark eyes, his boots squeaking against the floors.

"Guid day, uh... A'm sorry a'm feelin' lik' a've seen ye afore...?" The boy suddenly started to talk to Beatrice. She blinked a few times, trying to put the Words together in her head. He definitely has a strong scottish accent and even Beatrice, who was scottish herself had a hard time understanding some of his words.

»Uhm, it's strange that you say that. I feel like I have seen you somewhere before too.« She tells him, just a tiny bit of her scottish accent slipping through. You could barely hear it if you didn't listen closely, just like her Parents taught her.

"Ummm... An' a' if ye dinnae mynd mah saying, ye'v come a lang wey tae wash yer hauns, aye?" Beatrice raised an eyebrow at the boy, a witty smile appearing on her lips.

»Well, you've come a long way to cut your hair, haven't you? Wouldn't it be better to do that in your dorm? Besides, I actually came here to look for my book.« She took a minute to observe him. He looked around her age, but still... older? His hair was a dark color but looked like it was supposed to have a different color. Quercy, Beatrice thought that was what he called himself earlier, was wearing an all Black outfit. It didn't look bad on him but it was rather unusual to see.

Beatrice turned to the mirror to tie up her hair when he started to talk again. She listened to him, putting her hair into a smooth, perfect ponytail.

"'n'... Umm... Howfur muckle. Na! howfur lang hae ye bin thare?" Beatrice has no Idea what in Merlin's name Quercy ment with the word 'muckle' but she gladly understood the rest.

»You are very talkative, huh? I got here just when you announced that you wanted to be called Quercy, I believe that's the name you used?« She turned back to him, slightly tilting her head up, so she could look into his face.

»Hey, are you in Slytherin? I feel like that might be where I have seen you. And also, have you seen a book in here?« A vague picture of the Boy sitting on one of the Couches in the Slytherin Common Room comes to her mind.

»It's called 'Dragon Species of Great Britain and Ireland'« She tells him, her gaze quickly scanning the Lavatory. Beatrice was pretty sure she left it in the Girls Lavatory, but she also didn't want to risk anything.

Talkative? Quercy scoffed.
"Umm... Aye," he said looking at the girl.
"Hey, are you in Slytherin? I feel like that might be where I have seen you. And also, have you seen a book in here?"
"Aye, a'm a slytherin... Whit urr ye? raven or snake? n' na, ah haven't seen a book, ah juist arrived a free moments afore ye... Ah hulp ye soucht it though."
"It's called 'Dragon Species of Great Britain and Ireland," the brunette stated scanning the room.
Quercy started to search the room.
"Whit dae thay ca' ye?" Quercy said before facing her direction. "'n' how come dae ye fake an sassenach(english) accent? aye, ah kin sniff oot a fake sassenach accent by a scots. Ah fake an accent a' th' time masell(myself)."
He awaited her reply as he looked in the stalls for her missing book.

"Aye, a'm a slytherin... Whit urr ye? raven or snake? n' na, ah haven't seen a book, ah juist arrived a free moments afore ye... Ah hulp ye soucht it though." Beatrice almost laughed, well being mistaken for a Ravenclaw wasn't bad but at least she had an Idea where she saw the boy. He seemed to have no clue.

»Slytherin.« She said as they both started to search the room. It must be in one of the Stalls if it's here she thought to herself.

"Whit dae thay ca' ye?" said before facing her direction. "'n' how come dae ye fake an sassenach accent? aye, ah kin sniff oot a fake sassenach accent by a scots. Ah fake an accent a' th' time masell." That certainly was a rather unusual way to ask someone what they're named and faking?! She was certainly not faking her accent. Most of the time.

»Beatrice. Beatrice Dupont.« She told him, unsure if he had any Idea about her family. »And for your Information, I am not faking my accent. I was taught to talk like this. There's not much of a Scottish accent to me. My parents think it sound more polite and better.« The last part about her Parents just slipped out. She looked at the boy again, her gaze slowly wandering from his head to his shoes and back up. Beatrice became rather closed off when someone found something that her parents would consider a weekness on her.
Wait. Had she asked for his name?

»I don't think my book is in here. I'll go look in the Girls Lavatory.« She started to strut out of the bathroom, not sure if Quercy was following her.

»What's your name? Is it really Quercy or do you just want people to call you that?« she just expected him to follow her.

"Beatrice. Beatrice Dupont." The girl spoke up. "And for your Information, I am not faking my accent. I was taught to talk like this. There's not much of a Scottish accent to me. My parents think it sound more polite and better."
Beatrice stopped, Thymus stopped, Beatrice looked him up and down. He knew the feeling all too well.
"I don't think my book is in here. I'll go look in the Girls Lavatory." She stated starting to strut out of the bathroom.
That's rude.
"What's your name? Is it really Quercy or do you just want people to call you that?" She continued to speak as she walked out, Does she expect me to follow her?... Well... I guesss so.
Thymus ran a light jog to catch up to Beatrice.
"Weel, quercy is ma whit. Mah actual name is thymus genus syringa quercus timerey." He said matching he pace which wasn't hard due to his tall height. "An' a', ah ken th' sassenach accent learning tae sound mair proper ordeal.... Seems we hae mair in common than ah thought... Except a've hud enough o' th' hail pumpin' "you hae tae be proper thymus," aye? tis juist a load o' horseshit."
He looked at the brunette girl up and down, Why am I here?... He sighed.

"Well, Quercy is my nickname. My actual name is Thymus Genus Syringa Quercus Timerey."
"Also, I understand the English accent learning to sound more proper ordeal. Seems we have more in common than I thought... Except I've had enough of the whole fucking "You have to be proper Thymus," yes? It's just a load of horseshit."

Quercy jogged up behind Beatrice as she quickly walked into the Direction of the Girls Lavatory. He matched her step but seemed to take much less of an effort to keep up with her than some other people.

"Weel, quercy is ma whit. Mah actual name is thymus genus syringa quercus timerey." He told her. Beatrice almost stopped her walk but decided otherwise and continued her step. She blinked a few times but didn't look at him.

»Well, that's a long name. Mind if I stick with Quercy?« she shot the boy a witty smile before directing her gaze to the front again. Beatrice pushed the lavatory door open and they both walked in. She wasn't sure that Quercy had even noticed.

"An' a', ah ken th' sassenach accent learning tae sound mair proper ordeal.... Seems we hae mair in common than ah thought... Except a've hud enough o' th' hail pumpin' "you hae tae be proper thymus," aye? tis juist a load o' horseshit." Beatrice stopped in her tracks. Horseshit? A laugh escaped her but she immediately stopped herself when the book fell into her gaze.

»Oh thank Merlin!« She said, walking up to the book and taking it. When she turned back around Quercy was looking at her. Oh right, he said something. Beatrice walked closer again, not wanting to talk too loudly, because of the echoey lavatory.

»Uhm, well...« she was unsure how to say this, »I don't know it any other way. I'm used to it you know? "Talk politely Beatrice" "Dress for company" "Eat up but don't eat too much" "Watch what you're saying" the usual.« She told him. Beatrice didn't know why she said that. She bit her lip, looking down at her shoes.

»Although you're right. It is a load of Horseshit.« Beatrice basically whispered this as she looked back up at the boy with an understanding smile.

Beatrice let out a small laugh before stopping herself. She stopped bringing her gaze to something on the floor.
"Oh thank Merlin!" She said, walking up to the book and grasping it. The brunette turned to look at Quercy, taking a step closer. "Uhm, well... I don't know it any other way. I'm used to it you know? "Talk politely Beatrice" "Dress for company" "Eat up but don't eat too much" "Watch what you're saying" the usual."
Quercy nodded, understanding every bit of it all.
"Although you're right..." She brought her voice to a whisper. " It is a load of Horseshit."
She gave him a smile which he returned. He suddenly realised he was in the girl's lavatory.
"Aye, that it is," he felt a bit awkward being in the girl's lavatory, Why am I here?... Oh yeah, to find Beatrice's book. "Umm... Mibbie we kin hangout sometime... Mibbe naw in a cludgie?"
He gave out a small laugh walking out thr lavatory, wondering if she would return the favor by following him.

"Aye, that it is," Quercy seemed a bit awkward and Beatrice couldn't blame him. They were in the Girls Lavatory after all. Beatrice held onto her book, slightly rocking back and forth on her feet.

She didn't know what to say, should she ask him to leave the Lavatory and do something else with her, maybe just talk? Or was that weird? They had just met a couple minutes ago but she already liked Quercy. He was nice.

"Umm... Mibbie we kin hangout sometime... Mibbe naw in a cludgie?" Quercy laughed. Not a long laugh but still. It was a nice sound. He started to walk out and Beatrice followed. A beaming smile sat on her lips, she felt like she had made a friend in Quercy.

»Of course. I would like that.« She said, still smiling and giving the boy a side glance as they walked.

The two wandered through the halls side by side, not talking or doing anything other than walking. But it was still nice. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence. Beatrice had to hurry a bit to follow his big steps but she didn't mind.
