Let`s Date Back to the Very Beginning
It was again, a sunny day at Hogwarts. The warm autumn sun shined through Rita`s face, and the sky was blue with white clouds swinging in the breeze that blew up Rita`s slightly messy black hair. Rita was just tired from a day`s busy schoolwork and just wanted to spend time lying on the campground and chill with her friend, a first-year Slytherin named Lily. Rita and Lily had met each other for a long time, and Rita just wanted to date back to Sept 4th, when they first met, and share the valuable memory with her friend Lily again, "Lily, now we are just lying in the campground, under the warm sun and the blue sky, like an old married couple. We`ve been through a lot of events together, so why not just go back to the very beginning, when we just met? I believe it`s Sept 4th, isn`t it? I remember it was the same place when I was again chilling under the sun, and you passed by and agreed to start a chat with me, so we began to introduce ourselves and chat with each other. That`s when our friendship began and now you are one of my best friends. These are sweet memories, Lily, and I am glad I make friends with a kind and friendly girl like you. Oh no, I don`t want to talk about this anymore, I feel like tears running down my face." A few tears did run down Rita`s face as she dated back to the very beginning when her friendship with Lily had just started. Rita has to admit she is an emotional person, and friendship is one of the things she values the most. She wiped away her tears, turned to Lily, and smiled at her, "I know it`s a cliche, but you are one of the most important people in my life and I am lucky to be friends with you, Lily."

Rita had already stopped crying and smiled at Lily while Lily was asking her about Quidditch and apologizing for talking too much, "Sorry, Lily, I am just getting emotional thinking about the sweet memory when we first met. I`m OK now. It`s great that you are on the Broom Racing waitlist! I believe you will enjoy the sport and become a brilliant broom racer! You know, being a beater is challenging, and I have to practice a lot to strike the Bludger perfectly and hit the opponent. It is also extremely fun flying in the sky in my broom and feeling the freedom up in the air. I just practiced Quidditch a few days ago with another first-year Slytherin named @Irina Sousa, who is also a nice girl to chat and practice Quidditch with, and she is really good at escaping my Bludgers. By the way, I own a shooting star, which is really beginner-friendly, and I am saving money for a nimbus 1700. By the way, it`s OK if you talk a lot because I am pretty sure I talk for much longer periods than you! Hope you don`t mind this! It was fun lying under the sun and chatting with a good friend like you by the way!" After finishing her speech, Rita smiled at Lily again and waited for her to respond.

Rita listened carefully and smiled at Lily as Lily answered her questions and asked her a few more questions. What Lily did not know was that Rita`s kind teammates had promised to send her a Nimbus 1700 using the Hufflepuff broom fund so that she can use this better broom on the upcoming fall 2022 Quidditch match. Anyway, that was not very important. "Yeah, Shooting Stars are pretty great brooms too, quite beginner friendly, though Nimbus 1700 is better." Rita showed a big smile to Lily, and began to answer her questions patiently, "I can`t wait to see you on the broom racing team too! By the way, flying on the broom and striking bludgers is kind of challenging because many chasers are really good at escaping bludgers. I suppose the official match is quite different from the normal Quidditch practice, and the upcoming fall game on the 14th is my first Quidditch match. I am excited and nervous about the match, and I will definitely try my best! Hopefully I won`t let the whole team down and make my fellow Hufflepuffs feel disappointed! By the way, are you going to watch I play Quidditch that day, or you have other arrangements? It`s OK if you don`t come, I`m not forcing you to come, just asking!" After finishing her speech, Rita looked at Lily, and waited for her to respond.

Rita was worried then relieved seeing Lily sighed and then smiled. "Actually, since broom racing eats up a lot of time, it is very likely that someone would step down and instead focus on their homework or other personal stuff. I think you will get a taste of broom racing very soon." She comforted Lily, "Yeah, I`ll try my best at the match. Thanks for your encouragement."
Lily than paused and said it`s OK if Rita cheered on Hufflepuff rather than Slytherin when there is a broom racing match between the two. Rita understood her worries since house pride and friendship are both important to her. Rita thought for a while to come up with an idea that will benefit both, "Alright, Lily. If that happens, I`ll cheer from Hufflepuff during the match, and then encourage you to do well on the match in private between us two. I think it will benefit both and no one will feel upset. I hope so. What do you think, Lily?" Rita turned to Lily to see Lily`s reaction to her suggestion, hopefully she won`t be upset by that. The conflict between house pride and cross-house friendship is difficult to cope with sometimes, and Rita just hates conflicts. "Hopefully the idea would work." Rita thought.

Rita listened carefully and smiled at Lily as Lily responded to her. Lily was definitely a sweet girl to spend time chatting with, and Rita was definitely lucky to have a best friend like Lily. Lily recognizes Rita`s effort, and always compliments and encourages her best friend. More people ought to be like Lily.
"Thanks for you compliment, Lil! Well, I suppose there are several people on the quidditch team, since there are 4 positions, the chaser, the beater, the seeker, and the keeper, and at least two people are in the same position. Our team captain is someone called @Quinn Healy, and our co-captain is the Hogwarts Hexwizard champion, @Howard White. I honestly don`t know much about both of them, but I suppose they must be very sporty and strategic to lead the whole Quidditch team. Hopefully, we will do well in the upcoming match!" Rita responded to Lily with a smile.
After a short while, Lily said she had homework to do, and left the Campgrounds. "Well, good luck on your homework, see you later!" Rita waved goodbye to her best friend.
"Well, since Lily has left, I think I also don`t have to stay here any longer. I also have homework and other things to do, and it is getting late. I shall also leave the Campgrounds now." Thinking about that, Rita also stood up, picked up her things, and left the Campgrounds to deal with her own things.
