Friendship through Quidditch PV Irina Sousa Finished

Irina was tired of being inside the castle. It was fascinating to walk between its walls and get acquaintance to all of her classrooms and common spaces, but she misses the outside and in particular, she misses flying and the late afternoon quidditch matches with her cousin. So she decided to go at the quidditch training pitch, with some luck she would find someone to meet and to play with.

Has a first year she couldn’t bring her own broom to Hogwarts so she decided to go for one of the school brooms. It was a pleasant afternoon, although being the beginning of autumn the sun still shows it's rays soothing the chilly breeze. When she finally got to the pitch, she looked up and saw that someone was already there training. Judging for her yellow and black attire, Irina figured it must be a Hufflepuff. The girl didn't looked to much older then her. She has straight dark hair and all in the way she carries herself transmitted friendliness and good mood. That made Irina got confident enough to approach the girl with a sincere smile on her face. The amicable hufflepuff greeted her and asked for her name. She also said she could help Irina getting some quidditch training or to get some chatting together. "Hi! My name is Irina Sousa, I'm a first year Slytherin! And yes, I hope to become a chaser some day! I could use some training partner of course, thanks! But I don't mind if we could chat while doing so. I just arrived Hogwarts and don't have a lot of friends here yet..." She said nicely hoping that they could have a good time playing and getting to know each other.

The Slytherin girl walked closer to Rita and introduced herself as Irina, a first-year Slytherin who wants to become a chaser. Very interesting to know. As she walked closer, Rita could also see her face more clearly, it was a girl slightly shorter than her, but was quite good-looking with long dark-brown hair and sparking brown eyes. She also explained that they could chat while practicing Quidditch together, which sounds like a great idea to Rita. She decided to pick up her broom again while attempting to start a chat with Irina, "Hi, Arina! Thanks to the sunny weather, I could finally do some Quidditch training to practice for the Quidditch match later this month on the 14th. It is my first quidditch match since I join the Hufflepuff Quidditch team this year and I cannot wait for it! Please arrive at the Quidditch Pitch on that day to watch the exciting match! Are you ready to get on the broom and have fun flying in the sky and practicing Quidditch with me? By the way, how are your life at Hogwarts in general, and do you have other hobbies besides Quidditch? Mine is music, animals (both magical and non-magical), sports, and food." Rita smiled at the Slytherin girl and waited for her to get on her broom for training while responding to her.

At the same time Irina was holding up her hair on a ponytail, checking up her quidditch gloves and headband, she was gladly answering the questions made by the cheerful young Hufflepuff: "Yes it's a nice day today isn't it? On the 14th? of course! It's against Gryffindor is it not? I'll gladly be there!" When the dark haired girl asked if she was ready to fly, Irina made a smirk thinking "when am I not ready for that?". Then she nicely asked about her hobbies and interests, Irina noticed that some of her's were common to their own, "I like to hear some music too mostly when I'm drawing or painting...I brought my old easel with me! I also love sports, one of my favorite things is watching football games with my grandpa! And food? Merlin if it's not one of my sins!" She laughed lightly after stated the last one.

While mounting on her broom and started to slowly get up in the air, Irina remembered that she yet didn't knew the Hufflepuff girl's name..."I'm sorry, I didn't picked up your name yet!" She looked at the friendly girl beside her waiting for a name. "And where should we start with? I mean... I train my flight trying to escape your bludgers and make some scores? It's that ok for you?"

Rita also picked up her broom to fly in the sky with a smile as she was listening to Irina responding to her while doing some Quidditch preparations and getting on her broom to take off slowly. She was glad that Irina would come to her first Quidditch match on the 14th, and she shared some similar hobbies with her. She also felt sorry for not remembering to tell the Slytherin girl her name.

"Sorry to forget to tell you my name. I am Rita, Rita Su, but you can call me Riri. I`m a second-year Hufflepuff and a beater in the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. It seems that we have some similar hobbies! Maybe we can listen to some music together next time! What kind of music do you like? I like nearly all kinds of music! I am not a big fan of football games, but I sometimes watch some late-night football games with my father. " Rita responded to Irina as they both ascended from the ground, "By the way, I think your idea of escaping my bludgers is great! I can practice throwing some bludgers at you, and you score 10 points if you escape the bludger successfully, else the 10 points are mine! Let`s practice that then!" Rita smiled at Irina again as she finished her speech and attempted to strike a bludger at Irina.

Picking up the pace, flying higher, she heard her new friend tell her that she could call her Riri. Irina thought was a funny cute name. She couldn't stop herself remember her cousin Rita, her childhood trustful friend. She thought it was a sweet coincidence this new friend and your best friend shared the same name. "So Riri it is!" she thought smiling feeling a warm happiness and hope in her new acquaintance. "I would love to hear some music with you, I like all types of music too, I guess depends on how am I feeling at the moment. You said you like animals...do you happen to have a pet?"

When Rita accepted Irina's idea for the training, she saw the Hufflepuff pick up her beater's bat and the bludger. "Ok, this is it...get ready Irina, let's have some fun!" she was feeling so light in the air, her heart started racing with anticipation. Her previously smiling face dissipated giving way to a more concentrated expression. She narrowed her eyes waiting for the dark haired girl to do her aim. She closed her hands more tightly and bent over slightly on her broom, in one move she hopefully would be fast enough to escape the tough iron ball. "Ok Riri, do your best Hufflepuff!" she shouted to her opponent defiantly with a smirk.

Rita smiled when Irina said she would like to listen to some music with her, and her music choice depend on how she is feeling at the moment after she carefully tried her best to strike a bludger at Irina and waited for Irina to try to escape from it. What a coincidence! She also does the same! By the way, how did Irina know Rita does have a pet? After smiling for a moment, Rita decided to concentrate on seeing whether Irina successfully escaped from the bludger. Wait! It`s a success! Ten points for Irina! "Congratulations, Irina! You won the first ten points! I am going to concentrate on my bludgering even more! Maybe I am a bit distracted from chatting with you!" Rita yelled at Irina far up in the sky, "By the way, I also choose what music to listen to based on my mood! It must be great to listen to music with you next time! Besides, you are right, I do have a pet, a male red-mackerel tabby named Peanut. Are you planning to also get one? But for now, let us concentrate and we will try to practice the skill again!
Rita grabbed another Bludger and her beater bat, tried to concentrate more this time, and tried her best to strike the bludger directly at Irina. After carefully striking this bludger, she waited to see how Irina would react to this one, and how she would respond to her speech.

After shouting to Riri, Irina kept waiting for the first attempt of her friend to try to get her out of the broom. She kept her eyes fixed on the bludger, is not very pleasant to be hit by that treacherous iron ball. The palms of her hands started to get a little bit sweaty, she was getting anxious and excited for the moment she had to escape from her friend's launch.

It was so close! But luckily Irina has guessed right the bludger's trajectory. She got 10 points! "Yes! I made it!" she thought with relief. She's aware that the Hufflepuff girl had a lot more experience then she does. Irina was a first year aspirant to become a chaser, and Rita was already a beater on her quidditch team. She looked at her friend to see her reaction, she didn't want to upset her for escaping the bludger or for being so happy with her own accomplishment. But Rita was not like that, she and her friendly personality immediately reached her when she heard her shout through the field congratulating her.

Despite Rita statement, that she was going to concentrate more, she kept talking and asking questions. Perhaps she wanted to distract Irina instead? Or was she simply this nice chatting person who couldn't avoid being so friendly? "I think she's both right? This smart and kind person!" Irina realized.

Irina also concluded that her guess was right, being an animal lover Riri had to have a pet. "Peanut? What a sweet name! Judging for his description it must fit him well! I'm sure I want to meet him now!" She told to her friend being completely honest about it. Irina likes animals she just know she's an awful caregiver. She was bad taking care of herself less taking care of another being! "But I don't think I'll have a pet...I'm not good at taking care of anyone!" she added in answer to her friend's last question.

She heard Rita calling for concentration again, and so she did it. She cleaned her sweated hands on her robe and closed them again on her broom getting into position. She saw her friend grab another bludger and with a steady knock she launched the heavy sphere. This time luck decided to change, the ball went right to the her. She tried to fly to the side but the bludger caught her right on her left upper leg. "Ouch!" she sighed painfully rubbing her leg. "This one was good Riri! Nice call, now we are tied! Let's keep trying?"

Rita smiled when her new friend Irina responded to her questions and was delighted that she got the point this time. " Peanut is a lovely cat! He is really active and likes going out to meet new people! I shall bring him to you next time if you don`t mind cats!" Rita yelled at her as she was holding the bludger in her hand and picked up her beater`s bat, "Nice try last time! Let`s concentrate and try again! Let`s see if you can get the points this time!" She tried her best to concentrate on striking the heavy iron ball directly at Irina. Is it a hit or a miss? Oh, another 10 points for Irina! She escaped from the Bludger successfully! "Congras, Irina! You are really good at this! I`m sure you will be enrolled at the Slytherin Quidditch team soon after this!" Rita yelled at Irina to congratulate her, "Shall we have one or two more races, then we are done? How about whoever wins the game if she wins 3 rounds since now it is 2:1? Or do you want to practice more? I am getting a bit tired, and the sky seems to get darker!" Rita grabbed her bat and the bludger and waited for Irina to see if Irina agreed with her suggestion, or if she wanted to practice more.

Irina heard the young hufflepuff girl talk about her pet, she was happy that her friend would let her meet the lovely and active Peanut.

So when the next round took turn, Rita concentrated again, grabbing her bat and going for another successful launch. Irina just had time to hold firmly on her broom leaned over it and went down and quickly to her left. This time she got it right, but the bludger almost hit her in the right arm. “That was close Riri” she shouted to her friend who was standing at the other side of the pitch. The friendly dark haired girl congratulated her back. Rita was getting tired and she got a good point about the Sky getting darker. The sun was setting and it was almost night. “I liked that idea Riri, one more turn and we should get inside!” To be truthful her leg was still hurting from the iron ball and she could use some ice on it and get some rest. “Ok, give your best again!” She shouted.

Irina narrowed her eyes trying to see more clearly from where Rita was striking the bludger, with less sun light it was a little bit more difficult to escape! Despite that fact, she was able to escape again. This time the sphere went right over her head.
