Reminder:
Current deadline is Tuesday, September 6th. If there are a lot still to post/vote, I will extend it by 1 day and do the mod post the following day to give you time to do so.
Tomorrow will be the 5th and only Xailah has posted/voted so far!
There will be one last reminder the day before posts/votes are due before I post the mod post.
Also, I've received an owl from the Hunter already and am expecting to receive an owl from the Protector sometime soon. But I haven't heard from the wolves, so please owl me your target soon!

Bubba woke up early the next morning and was frankly shocked to find that he'd even survived the night. Was this all some elaborate purgatory or even hell, punishing him for wishing Hunter dead and wanting to dance on his grave? He took a few moments to wipe the sleep from his eyes and sat up, considering his situation more carefully. He decided that, on balance, he was still alive, still stuck on this ship with the wolves. He could only imagine what had happened during the night. Perhaps their luck had turned and they'd all been spared. Somehow, he doubted it. He went back on deck and sure enough, he was wrong. They had not been spared. Akira lay there, dead as can be. But why Akira? Bubba wondered to himself as he pondered this piece of fresh information.
He realized he should feel something rather than puzzlement, some mourning for the loss of yet another (mostly) innocent life, but that didn't enter his mind at all. Whether he liked it or not, this was all about survival now, and no matter how you looked at it, they were running out of time. With each passing day (and death) their time grew shorter. If they didn't make progress soon they were all as good as dead. Bubba thought back on everything that happened so far and tried to see where this new piece of information fit in.
It made absolutely no sense to him. Akira had been suspicious of Auerlia, who it turned out was not a wolf, but a human. So why kill Akira? Did Akira have some special quality of which he knew not? He didn't think so but that didn't make it impossible. It was also possible that it was all just misdirection to begin with. The reason he was so surprised to wake up alive was because he was so sure that Hunter was right and Pax was a wolf. That didn't mean Hunter was wrong though, in fact if he was right, which meant Bubba was right as well, then the safest thing to do was kill someone else. It would've been far too suspicious otherwise. Something told him that he was right, it was the only thing that made any sense.
"This is just misdirection," he said in a voice that was calm but conveyed his absolute conviction that he was right, "Hunter was killed because he fingered Pax, and Pax is a wolf." He started pacing as he continued to speak and try to lay it all out convincingly, "If they killed me it would've been obvious. There is no benefit to just killing Akira. Akira voted for Aurelia, who we know was not a wolf." He thought more about Pax before he continued, "And look, don't buy into this bullshit about Pax being the 'protector'. Either Pax really is the protector and is very stupid, or Pax is a wolf trying to make you think they're the protector. I say it's the latter. All announcing you're the protector does is make you a big target, and the fact that Pax is still alive after such a declaration should tell you all you need to know." He decided to finish with an echo of his words yesterday, "I'll probably be dead by morning but if you have me walk the plank, you'll just be doing their job for them."

Emma was realizing quite quickly that this was a very difficult game it seemed. Things weren't obvious at all, and one vote could mean the tipping point of killing off another human.
The next day, Akira had died. Emma had not expected that one especially as they had been one of the people under suspicion of being wolf. That seemed counter intuitive, because there likely would have been more suspicion on Akira now. But that could have been a ruse. Honestly the twists and turns Emma was coming up with had her head going in every which direction.
She had no clue honestly who was the wolf, and she didn't want to lose the protector, but a choice had to be made. Closing her eyes, she cycled through the remaining humans. Bouncing on her feet, and biting her lip (a dangerous game), Emma kept going over and over any interactions she had caught sight of, the body language and anything else she knew about anyone on board. Honestly it wasn't much, as she took a bit to warm up to people but still.
Finally, she just decided on a name, not sure of anything but knowing she needed to cast a vote and soon. Emma cast her vote for Florian LeRoy, hoping against hope that they were truly a wolf, and she was right in thinking that Pax was a protector or at least a human, not a wolf.

And the fate was chosen by the one and only captain of this vessel, with such a close vote, there had to be a swing somewhere, and Sophia voted for Aurelia to walk the plank. Only problem is that Aurelia turned out to be human, and thus another day, another 2 humans taken out. Tensions were rising and suspicions were being thrown about.
Another night of calm, serenity.... well not really. It was another restless night, due to the fellow members on this ship dropping like flies, and the question running through Monica's mind every night was, "is tonight my last night?" No it wasn't, she was able to sneak in some winks of sleep here and there, but when morning came, so did the discovery of yet another body. Akira had been picked off, and now the question was, who was going to walk the plank for this.
It seemed all to obvious now who the wolves were.... as Monica pondered over it, she found time to pull her friend Beatrice aside, "Okay I know Bubba was just talking about voting pax, but do you find it weird that the swing vote from Sophia wasn't against Pax?" She looked around insuring no one was hearing this conversation, "All I am saying is that it was mentioned days ago that the wolves might have gotten one of their own in charge... perhaps we have to start considering that as our option as well."
Thinking it over though, would it be a good idea to cast a vote right to the top? Would that put more of a target on her own back, than actually help get anyone out of harms way?
Monica spend a long time, trying to hear other conversations, all while keeping an eye on Pax and Sophia. When it came down to it though, Bubba seemed to be keeping his vote for pax, so the wise call would be to bank the votes, rather than just now splitting off.

Outfit: x It appears Aurelia had won the vote over Pax, who Vivienne was convinced was highly suspicious, that suspicion merely increased when Aurelia turned out to be a human. Aurelia was suspicious to her too, if she was being completely honest, but it appears that her suspicions proved futile since Aurelia was actually completely innocent.
Morning came once again, and with that came another body. This time, it was Akira, which also meant that he hadn't been a wolf. Vivienne listened to everyone else's explanations as she had done the previous rounds, trying to decipher who was looking the guiltiest. Even though Bubba was honestly quite suspicious to Vivienne, he did have a point. Vivienne also thought it was quite suspicious that Pax had told everyone they were the protector, it was very careless and stupid. Would it not make them a prime suspect for the wolves? Unless they were a wolf themselves. It made sense, and Vivienne was honestly lost at this point, so she decided to vote for Pax this time too.
Monica also had a very valid point, and Vivienne didn't find any need to speak up this round as she felt everything she would say had already been said by Bubba and Monica. So, she decided to stay quiet and cast her vote.Vote: Pax Zhang

Seriously, how many bodies could turn up humans before they picked a wolf? It seemed all of them, which was mildly, if not truly, concerning for Bea. The three way tie seemed to confirm her suspicions about Sophia. Had the wolves gotten someone on the inside, able to cover their tracks by hiding in plain sight? As Bea listened to others, it seemed that was the case.
Buzzing with energy, and wanting to talk to someone, the red head went to find Monica. Coming upon her, the look in Monica's eyes suggested she wanted to talk with Bea as well. Hopefully to confirm her own suspicions. And it happened. Monica thought Pax and Sophia were in league. Then so did Bubba and Vivienne, by her presence around them. All of this would help Bea in solidifying her mind on who to vote for. If they were right, hopefully the humans onboard could start flushing out the wolves. If not, well, they wouldn't have much to lose at this point.
"I know Pax and Sophia are friends, so maybe that's why she didn't vote for him? And, Pax did say he was the protector, but surely wouldn't that make you target for the wolves in the first place? Seems strange that he always survives when he is one of the biggest targets...And the fact that Sophia voted for others, and then the two other candidates both end up dead, and human...It just all seems so suspicious..."

The night passed and like every morning since the beginning of the game, a dead man was found on the bridge. Astrid leaned against one of the masts and looked at the participants. Aurelia was eliminated, Akira killed. She was sure that everyone would vote for Pax, the last of the previous day's trio.
Astrid counted the passengers on the boat. 15 people. 10 humans and 5 wolves. The game was turning to the advantage of the wolves. The game was becoming interesting. Bubba had a logical reasoning. But Xailah was right, the boy was talking too much. And that was suspicious. He must have been panicking.
Still leaning against the mast, Astrid announced her vote in a clear and calm voice.
— Nah, sorry Bubba. Your reasoning is not bad. You'd almost have me believe that Pax is potentially a wolf. But Xailah is right. You talk too much. As a self-proclaimed wolf professional, I know that talking too much is a sign of stress. I vote for Bubba.

And so it goes, another innocent was sent to walk the plank. The wolves were that much closer to winning. Florian tried to wrap his head around everything so far. People were pulling conjectures out of thin air, and then getting themselves offed over it. Florian wasn't sure what to do anymore in all honesty. Plus, even worse, votes against Pax were beginning to grow. He couldn't understand the reasoning here. Sure, there was a fine line between playing it safe, but if someone was claiming to be the protector, and not a single person has come forward to say that it isn't true, then why on earth would we do the wolves dirty work? There was a reason that Pax hasn't been killed during the night, and that's because there's already so much against him.
"Please, everyone, can you all not see reason?" Florian pleaded. "I will state this once again... There is no way Pax is a wolf, at least in my eyes. You are all so suspicious of them because of their forwardness about being the protector. But again, no one has spoken against them. No one has said, 'I am actually the real protector, so Pax is a wolf.' Could the real protector be hiding, hoping not to die themselves? Sure, but I don't think that's the case. The reason the wolves didn't kill him last night is painfully simple, there's already so much distrust against him, they know that the group will off him the first chance they get now. I beg of you, do not kill our protector. Do not do the wolves dirty work for them." Florian would step back, hoping that this would be enough.
Problem was now, who to vote for. Florian just wasn't sure. There weren't any arguments coming forward for anyone but Pax, and he didn't feel that was the right choice. There was, of course, one vote for himself, but that seemed utterly ridiculous and clearly chosen at random, as there hadn't even been an argument made against him, that he just brushed it off entirely. Two who seemed suspicious so far to him was Monica and Vivienne, as they have continued to vote the same every single round aside from the vote for captain. There were a few others in this position as well, but Swashbuckler Florian felt that these two specifically were up to something, so might as well try to do something about it.
"Personally, I have my doubts about Monica and Vivienne." he began. "They have voted the exact same way aside from their captain vote, and against people who we should definitely not be voting against. Monica has my vote." Florian would conclude.

Nessie stayed quiet, but it wasn't that she didn't want to speak - rather that she'd always been a bit shy and was still surrounded by suspicious strangers, at least one of which who was presumably murderous in nature.
She was also rather preoccupied tying her brain in knots, because with a whole tangle of suspicions she wasn't sure who to believe. The little Hufflepuff was still risk-averse enough to want to avoid voting out the one person who'd so far claimed to be protector; sure, Pax's survival after such a claim was awfully suspicious, but what if they were telling the truth? Nessie couldn't be sure, and she still didn't think the risk of eliminating the protector was worth it.
But she also wasn't convinced that those who were voting for Pax were inherently suspicious either, as Nessie herself could see why Pax was under suspicion, and also they hadn't yet spoken up this round to defend themselves. Plus, hadn't at least one of their now-dead, confirmed good comrades voted for Pax? Would that make those not voting for Pax more suspicious? Or just not brave enough to take the risk, like Nessie herself?
The Hufflepuff frowned and eventually cast her vote, not feeling confident in it but not sure she'd have felt confident in anything else at the moment, either.

The MenagerieHouse Colours: RavenclawCalming Presence is ACTIVE to ALLWalter didn't even come down from the crow's nest with Rimmer today, electing instead to stay holed up at the top of the tower and away from the bloodthirsty crowd below. Judging by the few votes for him the day prior, the poor kid was evidently a potential checkmark on their dockets of people not to trust explicitly. If they did want to try and vote him off, they would have to drag him down from the nest and then throw him overboard like trying to coax a cat into a bathtub. No, the boy was more content to watch the bickering from above and without fear of losing his own life from where he stood. Surely they had to have come to some sort of conclusion on who the wolves were, right? If there were a team of them, up to five, even, and with only ten people total... that left only 5 people to vote. That meant... that the humans would all have to agree on one person, and the wolves on another person... otherwise the wolves would be able to outvote everyone, regardless of who voted for who.
"We must have a conclusion!" He finally shouted down with all he could muster in regards to shouting from overhead and over the confusion. "Humans can be outvoted if we vote another human off!" Now, the emphasis of the words were not at their correct points, but at least his words had been clear and at least marginally understandable.
A blue feather bristled in the wind, and the boy held on tightly to his hat to prevent it from being whisked away. Truly... he had no idea who was who anymore. All the people he had been confident of so far had not been wolves at all, and those who were voted off that even he hadn't suspected had not been wolves either. Truly, he was lost in the sauce. If they could predict even one wolf, maybe that would be indicative of internal alliances and confidants. Predict one, unravel alliances, and then win. Heck, maybe both their hunters and protectors were dead, and that was why nobody was being vocal about it. Maybe one of them had been killed off at the start, and the other one directly afterwards?
That would not bode well for anyone.
"I suspect her!" Walter would point at a younger girl (@Beatrice Langstreth) "I suspect her more than Pax!" He chimed in from above.
Now, did that mean that he could vote for her safely this round without tipping the scales in favor of the wolves? No. In fact, Pax was at risk of being thrown overboard by an impressive cabal of 4.
4, huh?
How many wolves did we suspect to be on board, again?
But again, maybe the wolves were splitting up votes again. Monica and Florian ending up with 2, and Bubba had 1.
God, if only the kid was better at statistics! The best thing he could do at this point was either vote for one of the individuals with 2 votes in the hopes that somehow it would be tied up and force the captain to make a choice, or throw away his vote by voting for someone that had no chance of being voted off at all. As much as he didn't like it... of the two of them, he distrusted Monica more.
Just like Duchess.Suspects: Walter Suspects Bea, but votes MonicaReducioRelationships:
Charles: Okayish... I get a bit worried when he gets close. He's certainly as strong-looking as a werewolf is.
Dealla Barfield: I doubt she's a wolf (unless Charles was). There's a high chance that as a newcomer she'll be targeted. If she's not... maybe she is a wolf. Also voted for Aryaan. It seems that Duchess and her have formed a tentative alliance. Perhaps that is for the better?
Aurelia Notresvace: Bad vibes all around. I don't trust her in the slightest. She didn't even say a word at the first meeting. Maybe that speaks to something else.
Akira: Seems strategic and collected. I notoriously distrust these types. Consider them a potential risk. He was the first to level something against Aryaan.
Quinn: Seems upset by this. Maybe she knows that she's the one doing it? Maybe she's being legitimate? Voted for Aryaan.
Pax: One of the ones that seemed to form a certain sect of voting for one another. Is there an alliance between some people here? Are the wolves working together? Why am I suspected by them? Pax claims to be the protector... but we have no way of knowing who is protected the night before, not helpful to trying to figure out the real protector or if Pax is bluffing. I don't suspect Pax, per say, but I do consider them a potential liar, and it is likely that the others do too... and if they were a healer, why wouldn't the wolves have taken them out tonight?
Xailah: Looks like a captain. Also looks shady... but I'd rather put my trust in someone who at least trusts me back a bit than someone who thinks I'm crazy. Be cautious, but also hopeful. She likes my cat! Also, it seems that she puts trust back in me, and I'm more than willing to help in whatever way possible. We both want out of the situation, after all.
Hunter: Seems a bit like me in a way that I can't quite place. May need a bit more time to assess him.
Vivienne: Quiet... cast a vote quickly and seemed unbiased. Observe. Voted for Aryaan. I think this makes her highly suspicious. Either a wolf or a sheeple.
Nessie: Also rather blank insofar as assessments. Observe.
Sophia: Impressive collection of 12 votes total. She must be liked... but maybe her voters are worth looking at for suspect (potential blending in with the crowd), even if she is a confirmed human. Duchess suspects her a lot, which I don't blame, but I (OOC) don't think that it is possible for the wolves to place one of their own as a leader (correct me if I am wrong).
Aryaan: Seems to be a voice of reason and not immediately jumping to pointing fingers. Voted for me... but still keep an eye out.
Emma: A prefect at our school, but titles don't matter at sea. May try to use the position of authority as an upper hand. Seems mostly to herself. Not a red flag, per say, but something of note.
Opelia: Strange, almost shady. I'd keep an eye on her, though a cunning mind may prove helpful in this strait.
EmmaLee: Another young one, but I don't put it past young people. They often have more wisdom than the most ancient adult. Voted with Duchess and I on Aurelia. Either a ploy to sustain trust, or maybe she knows something we don't... or maybe she trusts us.
Beatrice: Duellist, may have experience with strategy. If we determine her role, it may reveal more about how to act with her allies. I'm starting to suspect her more... though for the exact reason I am unsure.
Astrid: Seems skeptical, and is a friend of Charles'. Sounds like she suspects me a bit.. but I can't control how others think. Also voted for Aryaan. Self-acclaimed wolf expert... maybe she knows what's actually up?
Florian: I need more time to assess. Voted with Duchess and I on Aurelia, see above on "EmmaLee". I'm starting to bias towards trust. He seems willing to ration things out logically despite the chaos around us.
Monica: I need a bit more time to assess. Stay wary. Voted for Aryaan. I'm trusting her less and less.
I am certain that at least one of the people who voted for Aryaan is a wolf.
Keep an eye on these people.
Additional note, with wolves and humans reaching equilibrium, humans must all agree on one unanimous vote if we are to have a chance to outvote the wolves. Once this equilibrium is tipped in favor of the wolves, all is lost. We must get this vote correct.
