The poor kid found himself quickly flagging as the two separate fire spells kept on doing their thing. The pain became less and less numb, and Piérre began to come to terms with the fact that he was indeed on fire and in fact burning alive.

If there had been a small, short gasp from him the first time, this time there was a whole shudder and whimper, even as one of the Ravenclaws that the Gryffindor team had been jopping after the entire time had finally gone down.

WHY WASN'T HE ALLOWED TO PUT HIMSELF OUT DURING THE PAUSE NEEDED TO TAKE THE DUELIST OUT OF THE MATCH?!

In what world did that make ANY sense?

But it seemed that his partner too had been distracted by some other thing, and the plan that they had formulated the prior round that involved putting the Britalian out with an Extinguo had not come to pass. This was in the worst interest of said Britalian on fire... but at least his own healing spell had gone off without a hitch and he was clinging to consciousness by a thread.

Well... at least the fires appeared to be mostly going out... It sure hadn't felt nice in the meantime, though...

The boy tried to distract himself by quietly fixating on the most bold thing that caught his eye; the white hair of the foreign boy that still looked unusually familiar to him for some ungodly reason.

Piérre had thought about dying his hair white, funny enough... despite his hair being on FIRE right now.

Bea was aghast as her spell failed, again, and Felix stood still after the last round. Seriously, what would it take to cast a spell, wand? At the same time her spell failed, and she watched one of the Gryffindors remain alight like a burning Christmas tree, Bea felt a pit of dread fill her stomach. It was like it happened in slow motion. Callie had cast her Flipendo and Felix, the Ravenclaws target, answered by aiming for Callie with his own Flipendo. And his aim was true and solid. Callie went down like a bag of bricks, crumpled from the hit to her chest. A slight wheezing sound could be heard, and Bea realised that it was coming from her. Now it was just her left...

It seemed this certain group of duelists have been reduced to casting the same two spells over and over again.

Felix, Everly, and Beatrice all cast Flipendo with varying success. The latter two aimed at the former, with only one (Everly's) managing to land. Felix's aim seemed to be better as he successfully answered Beatrice's knockback jinx with much improved accuracy.

Pierre and Dylan both muttered quiet Reparifors, with Pierre seemingly the more selfish one out of the two, seeing as he chose to heal himself rather than his ally, similar to what Dylan has did to help his slowly-flagging comrade.

Halfway into these duels, the moderator still couldn't pinpoint who would be declared the victor, but he was excited to find out.

Dylan was happy that his spell had healed his partner. He wanted to help heal his partner and keep him in the duel as he wanted to win the duel with both of them standing. He wanted to be a team player and not focus on himself. He looked around and smiled as he looked at his partner.

"Reparifors!"

The worst of the fire's active burning pain was slowly fading away, as the boy cast his last healing spell on himself to keep himself afloat for the worst of it. It seemed that healing was not to be a strategy that only he would employ, as a member of the opposing team would heal the boy with the frosty hair.

It was halfway through the duel... officially.

Patting out the last fires numbly with blistered hands and another wince at touching the blistered and reddened areas, Piérre bit his lip one more time, feeling the side of his head where the hair had been entirely singed away. He would hopefully fix that after the duel was said and done.

Still, even through pulsing pain of heat and blood, Piérre would smile to his partner, trying to muster as much cheer as he could for her. Good things had indeed been happening for her. She had neither been hit nor had missed any marks that she had aimed towards this game so far.

The next move was quite evident, really. And Piérre readied his next spell in all his baked Italian glory.

Bea clenched her teeth as her spell missed its target. Seriously, why couldn't she just land once in this duel!? Narrowing her eyes at the other two teams, she guessed she didn't have much time left. Or maybe the other teams would be just as bad as her in the latter half of the game? Bea hoped so. Flicking her eyes upon the other , she raised her wand, ready for what came next.

Her Flipendo went off without a hitch. He seemed to be barely clinging onto consciousness, courtesy of a healing spell the blond’s partner provided, and opted instead to shoot the same spell towards the Ravenclaw, who’d also chosen the same spell—though hers didn’t hit. The storm cloud that she’d cast above the foreign team what seemed like ages ago finally decided to get in on all the action, and a bolt of lightning shot down from the sky, thunder rolling over their heads for dramatic effect.

Ravenclaw was having a really bad time.

Beatrice, trying desperately to elevate herself from her current dire situation, tried for another Flipendo at Felix. Alas, not only did she get sidetracked by the Knockback Jinx from Pierre's wand, she almost got brought to her knees by a second one from Everly. Maybe it was a testimony of the Ravenclaws' resilience, or maybe it was simply just stubbornness from a kid who doesn't want to give up, but as it stands, the lone remaining Ravenclaw duelist was hanging by a thread.

This all played out in front of Felix Kolbeck, who froze in place at the display of ruthlessness. From the side, Dylan was able to heal his wounds a bit more.

The moderator knows it was only a matter of time before everyone knew the victor.

He had planned a spell, it had been at the tip of his tongue, but he had blanked at the last moment. Perhaps it was from his prior hits, a lingering pain? No, it couldn't be. If he stalled like this during the Hexwizard he would never hear the end of it. He had to focus. He had to cast. Most of his opponents were still standing, and his partner was healing him. He would focus and try again.
