He'd done it every single day during Kim's first year at Hogwarts. He wasn't sure why Alec was drawn to him but the fact of the matter was after all this time, Kim couldn't just trust that Alec was suddenly being nice to him. For no apparent reason. He blinked at Alec's next words. Repeat himself? What did that mean? It became obvious when he did repeat his last words and Kim rolled his eyes. "I'm not that loud, am I?" He asked, not really expecting a response. But at the same time was curious, was he like that? It came as a surprise to him to hear someone say this. Him? Being loud and attracting attention because of this? Unless it had to do with food or a club, Kim wasn't usually very vocal, at least he didn't think he was up until now. That is, unless he was being messed with by Alec once again. The idea wouldn't surprise him in the least if that was true. More commotion was heard over at the Ravenclaw table, culminating in the newest Slytherin prefect giving Sophia, Spider Girl and Precious detention for their actions. Kim glanced back over at Alec again as the boy gave a pointed remark about him being more boring than the Ravenclaws. "Oh don't worry, you're just as annoying as the Claws. At least to me, that is." He teased him with a smirk. "I have to admit, I am curious though." "What was going on at that table?" Kim murmured, almost to himself, as he gazed over at the area. Sophia, Spider Girl and Precious were involved, so obviously it must have been relating to them. But what? And Spider Girl had a crazy look on her face back then. What on earth had gone on? Kim glanced back over at Alec again. "What do you think happened over there?" He asked, wondering what Alec would come up with on his own. Regina still seemed occupied with staring over at the Ravenclaw table and the two girls, so Kim didn't want to distract his friend. A friend he'd known since childhood. One who he'd recently reconnected with after having not seen her for a long time. Soon after they'd become toddlers. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

The Gryffindor Table 2022-2023
Set for right after Keith got sorted into Gryffindor, on September 1st
The Gryffindor table clapped and yelled as Keith walked over to the table. He sat down and looked down at his robes, which the Hogwarts symbol had been replaced by a Gryffindor symbol. He was so relieved for a minute, then he remembered his parents. They will be so angry when they find out. They had expected him to be in Slytherin. Keith decided he would worry about it later.
Keith turned to watch the rest of the first years be sorted. He was really happy he was in the same house as his aunt was 14 years ago. He hoped he would meet some nice people here. He was ready to make friends.
When the sorting was finally done the Headmaster announced it was time for food. Keith was a bit confused then remembered what his aunt had told him, the food appears by magic. Was everything about this school going to be magical? He watched as the food appeared, there were a lot of different kinds of food.
Keith happily ate some chicken and turkey, his two favorite types of meat in the world. He looked around to see people talking to each other, the only people he knew were the girls he rode with on the train here. one of them he saw, but he decided not to talk to anyone. It had been a long day and he was tired. He ate and waited to be led to the dorms.

The Gryffindor Table 2022-2023
Set right after Anna's sorting September 1st
The first thought that went through anna's mind was what now, she had been sorted and as she sits near the end of the table as the rest of the table cheers for a new member, if she was honest the entire train ride she had just been going through the motions until now it hadn't really hit that it was real but here she is all the way in highland Scotland surrounded by people she didn't know missing her family something fierce.
Anna watches as the other first years are sorted and she wonders if they are also feeling the same as her, if she is being truthful to herself she is quite nervous after all she is a eleven year old by her self with no adult supervision, there is the professors but with how many students are attending they are spread quite thin. She wonders what her family is up to. Will they be happy that she is in Gryffindor will they ask if she is making friends Anna just slumps into the bench, her homesickness overwhelming her.
With the sorting finally finished and all the first years seated into their new houses, the headmaster finally announced that it was time for the feast to begin. Anna stares at the empty tables confused how where was the food going to come from. Her parents never actually told her said it was apart of the surprise just like the sorting suddenly the food appears by magic. Leaving her shocked was everything in this school going to be magical? If so, then she was going to be in for more surprises as the weeks go by. as the food appeared, Anna could not help but noticed there were various kinds of food.

The Gryffindor Table 2022-2023
It was funny, ironic for a person to sound so concerned and annoyed, invested in the answer to a question they asked and not stop and take a second to make the realization for themselves. Kim was from Gryffindor, whether he liked it or not, the expectation was to be loud. Many were, it made up for the quiet ones. Alec laughed and shook his head at Kim's reaction, but it wasn't because he meant no. Taking in a sharp breath of air through his nose Alec prepared to answer Kim's question. This was going to be fun. Perhaps he could steer away from any answer likely to cause problems.“You shouldn't ask a question you don't want the answer to.” Alec informed Kim, he most certainly didn't want the answer to the question he'd just asked. What was Alec supposed to do? Tell him the truth? He could figure it out on his own, there was a chance he was putting too much faith in Starry Eyes but Alec would leave it alone just this once.
Kim was invested in whatever may have been going down at the Gryffindor table. As Alec took a chance to claim he was boring in comparison the Ravenclaw, Kim took the chance to slip in a sly remark. Alec's playful attitude towards the whole situation fell. Coming tumbling down in an instant. In reaction Alec let out a sigh and rolled his eyes, “what a precious remark from the one and only. Really, you should try to steer away from the snake venom for one night, it's toxic. That and people are going to think your a Slytherin.” He was saying it specifically because of Kim. He didn't believe Slytherin's had the most venom-filled remarks, Alec could count most of their remarks in ten seconds flat, he was saying things for the sake of saying things. Which was a shame because when he thought about it, some of the nicest people he'd ever met had come out of Slytheirn. Unwarrented kindness that was too good.
Kim voiced his curiosity for what was happening over at the Gryffindor table out loud. Alec ignored it, all until he was brought into the mix, asking what he thought about it, what he thought was happening at the Ravenclaw table. He could have given a playful answer. playing into it, but he didn't feel like doing that tonight. “It's bad to gossip, Kim.” Alec spoke, using the other's first name. The young teen would continue eating his apple, beginning to gesture towards the Ravenclaw table an he gulped down another bite. “If you're so interested in knowing, why don't you walk up and ask the Ravenclaws?” Alec suggested, it was much better than involving him. Alec's eyes flickered over to some of the newcomers that year.(@Anna Xavier, @Keith Moore, I figured I'd give you both a chance to join in on our interactions since your in the thread anyway xD)
Alec waved towards them in attempts to grab their attention, with a grin he stood up and spoke. “Oi! You two firsties! What do you think in happening at the Ravencalw table? Kim over here wants to know.” Alec made a very obvious show of pointing to Kim making sure it was known who he was shouting about. What embarrassing Kim wasn't against any rules?! Alec snorted, leaning over to make a big show out of ruffling Kim's hair(like an embarrassing older brother) and taking his seat.

Keith was eating and looking over at the Ravenclaw table, which was causing a lot of commotion. He wondered what was going on. He decided to eat and mind his own business. He looked down at his food, which he had eaten all his chicken, and suddenly missed his aunts' house. His aunt's wife had always made fried chicken every other Friday, one of his favorite things about staying with his aunts.
He heard the Ravenclaw table getting loud again. 'What was going on over there?' he thought to himself. when all of a sudden someone yelled,

Keith looked at the girl then back at the boy, and shook his head, "No, I have no idea, maybe they are just a bit over-excited for this year?" Keith was tired and all the noise was giving him a headache, "When can we go to the dorms?" he asked. Keith wanted to go to sleep, but his curiosity would be the death of him, he HAD to know what was going on over there. He looked back over at the Ravenclaw table, how would he find out?“Oi! You two firsties! What do you think in happening at the Ravenclaw table? Kim over here wants to know.”

Anna’s head shot up in response to the question she bites her lip as she glances at the Ravenclaw table, which now that she is paying attention to has been causing a huge amount of commotion, she could not help but wondered what exactly was going on over there. Anna looked up to see a boy another first year make eye contact with her and as she listened to his response, she could not help but guilty, Anna is not much for gossip, and she did not really want to be a gossiper however they were not making it easy for people not to gossip. She could not help but wonder if this were normal with all these pre-teens and teenagers under one roof hormones and tensions would run high, though with how loud they are they got into an argument.“Oi! You two firsties! What do you think in happening at the Ravenclaw table? Kim over here wants to know.”
Realizing that she has been quite for a while Anna clears her throat “I don’t know if I’d say they are excited with how loud they are being perhaps a disagreement, we won’t really know unless someone goes directly to the ravens and ask them what happened.” Anna replies softly.
Anna looks back to the food laid out on the table and grabs herself a slice of Treacle tart trying to ignore what was going on at the other tables. silently counting down until she could climb into her bed it has been a long day, and she is not looking forward to classes tomorrow.

Regina was much too distracted to pay attention to Kim and Mason's quippy exchange. Her attention was fixated on the two Ravenclaws duelling in the middle of the Great Hall where every single student and Professor was watching the commotion. She felt something akin to indignant disappointment bubbling inside her chest at their antics, especially when Sable joined in the fight too - no doubt to protect her blue-haired friend. Regina couldn't believe her usually sweet, whimsical Faye was having such a tantrum in public. The second-hand embarrassment was strong, even more so when she was reminded this was the girl she was romantically interested in.
But then she was reminded that Faye had a rather...special mental condition that prompted her to behave strangely at times. She'd explained to Regina herself it was something Muggle, and not uncommon. What was the word...right, autistic. Whatever that meant. She'd never once understood how Muggles worked. Odd beings, they were.
"Whatever they are doing, they have clearly reaped what they have sown," Regina replied to Mason's questions nonchalantly even though the older Lion had initially addressed the new first-years. Her eyes followed the figure of a Slytherin Prefect who stormed over to the three Ravenclaws to deliver detention notes. Incredible, in Regina's standards. She'd been prepared to get into some mischief this year herself, but clearly the second-years had beaten her to it. And during Sorting Ceremony, too.
She deliberately did not mention her connection to Faye, Nelson and Sable. She didn't want to be associated with them at the moment because of the humiliation they'd caused to themselves. Regina did make a mental note to talk to both Faye and Nelson on another day, however, to scold them for their childish behaviour. She turned back towards Kim, pushing the matter at the back of her mind in favour of attending to her best friend.
"Anywho," She began. "I am much more interested in how you and Mason came to know one another. It seemed you've got quite the relationship. I wonder how this would affect our House's team play should this year's duelling season should you two are to be partnered."
If it hadn't been for Kim, perhaps Regina would have never bothered to make an effort to socialise with a fifth year Housemate whom she had ever interacted with outside of the Gryffindor Dueling Team. But Mason didn't feel like an overall unpleasant boy, and besides, she was invested in her childhood friend's life and the people he'd met. They had years of separation to make-up for, after all.

Miciela spun in her robes for a second before trying to find a seat and thought to herself, This is so exciting! I'm a Gryfinder! A fierce lion. Hear me roar! Unfortunately for her, she accidentally said the last part out loud and blushed when a nearby Ravenclaw student gave her a weird expression.
She shrugged and made eye contact with the kid, still blushing bright red, "I'm excited, nothing wrong with that."
Taking a seat next to the two first years students, Miciela smiles excitedly at her future classmates. She decided to introduce herself to those around her at the table and begins to talk very quickly out of nervousness, "Hi! I'm Miciela. I'm from England! Well technically, my dad is from Italy, but I was born in England. However, does that really make me from Italy too? Technically, I could speak Italian, but at the same time I find spaghetti overrated--." Suddenly she stops herself and blushes bright red, "Sorry! I am blabbing aren't I? I do that when I'm nervous."

Miciela nodded and asked, "What happens to them now?" She frowns concerned and looks at the older students, "Do they get kicked out? Expelled?" She has heard rumors from other kids back home that if you do something bad enough, certain schools don't hesitate to kick you out. However, those were rumors and none of them ever has gone to Hogwarts besides her now."Whatever they are doing, they have clearly reaped what they have sown.

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | Kim did not belong in Gryffindor. It was what he'd always known, as most of the qualities Gryffindor was known for, he didn't seem to possess. If they were going by the traits that were within him, and if his own opinion was also considered, Kim knew he would never end up in Gryffindor. If the boy were to be judged strictly on his own, with no family obligations, Kim was sure he would end up in either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. But as it was, he couldn't escape his duty to his family and that meant he had to be either in Slytherin or Gryffindor. Or his parents would be mad or worse, disappointed with him. Due to this pressure, Kim ended up burying his true feelings deep within him, so they wouldn't be noticed. As a result, only the responsible parts of himself were seen by the Hat and the Hat chose accordingly. Kim was placed in Gryffindor. It was a House known for being loud, obnoxious and rambunctious. Those who were reckless, bold, adventurous and filled with chivalry and courage. All things Kim was not known for. He also didn't like to be part of crowds, or desired to be in the spotlight at any time. But he was stuck in this House, whether it was meant for him or not, and at least his mother was happy about it. And his mother was the one to look out for. Kwan was scary. Alec's words made Kim raise a brow. "You could see it as a rhetorical question. But if you want to answer you can." He said to the boy. "I do want to know the answer though, regardless of what it is." Kim added and then Alec went on to speak about snake venom, referring to Kim's earlier words. If Alec thought it would be an insult, he was in for a rude surprise. "Why thank you. I needed to get into Gryffindor or Slytherin, so you saying that I'm like a Slytherin is lovely. Perhaps you're not that bad after all." Kim said with a smirk. Once again his attention was drawn towards the Ravenclaw table as even more people seemed to be getting involved. What was happening? Alec went on to suggest he get up and see for himself and Kim let out a sigh but didn't move. It was the obvious solution but that implied he would need to push through the crowds of people to get there. And Kim hated crowds. He hated pushing through them even more. It was around this time that Alec raised his voice and called out to some of the new first years at the table, using his name. Kim rolled his eyes but let it go, because he really did want to know. Ah, right. He didn't have anything on his plate. What was going on with him? Was Kim really that bothered? Rabbit was not good for him. He had too much power over him and Kim didn't like that at all. Hell, Rabbit hadn't even shown up yet. And Kim was already thinking about him at the start of the new year. As he was reaching out to grab some chicken and mashed potatoes, Alec suddenly reached over to ruffle his hair. "---?!" A faint sound of surprise escaped his lips before he could stop it as he looked up at Alec. What was this boy doing to him?! He was being very familiar with him for some reason. Well, technically they'd known eachother for over a year now. Even if their relationship wasn't the best, it wasn't as if they were strangers. F it. He'd adopt a nickname for Alec then. But what should the name be? "Yes, Ali always likes taking care of me like that. He knows I'm curious about things that interrupt my mealtime." Kim said back to the newbies. Ali was a good one. It didn't matter if Alec liked it or not, that was what he was going to call him from now on. One of the new boys who had been sorted into their House looked up and expressed his disinterest in the situation. Kim didn't blame him, if it had been him at the time he would have probably done the same. Upon asking when they could head to the dorms, Kim raised his voice a little to be heard. After all, there was loud chatter and the sounds of fighting going on all around them. "After desserts appear, prefects will call all first years towards them and will take you to your dorms." He told him. It was overwhelming for many new students. He knew this from experience. Not that he'd been overwhelmed but he'd seen a ton of others feel that way. Kim glanced over at Alec and then leaned behind him to flash what he hoped looked like a smile at the new boy sitting a few seats away from Alec. "Kim Aoki. You are?" He asked, wanting to know the boy's name. A girl also responded to them, she was closer to them than the boy had been. Therefore, she probably had already heard him say his name to the boy from earlier. Due to this, there was no need to re-introduce himself as that would be repetitive. "Mm. I don't think it was just a disagreement. I think it's something else..." Kim murmured. He almost seemed as if he was talking to himself, as he thought about all the possibilities. It was only when she reached for some treacle tart that Kim's attention returned to where he was. "You should try the custard tarts here, they are really delicious. I run a few clubs at the school, one of them is the Tri-Cook Club (TCC). You should drop by and see if you might want to join it sometime!" Kim said with a faint twitch of his lips. "Ah, right. I don't know your name, what is it?" He asked, curious. She most likely knew his name. But he didn't know hers. Good manners would dictate that she should introduce herself to him now. That is, if she wasn't being rude. It was around this time that another new student piped up, another girl, and asked what happened to the three who had just gotten detention from a prefect. "They don't get kicked out or expelled, that's for serious offenses. They're just getting detention, not something you want to get, as it's a pain for most students." Kim told her and let his blue eyes flicker over the girl for a few seconds. "You are?" He asked, curious as to what her name was. "Kim Aoki. If you didn't hear me introduce myself before." Kim told the 1st year. As Regina turned her attention to him again, Kim glanced back over at her. A sigh escaped his lips as she asked about his relationship with Alec. "Ali's someone I used to call Nuisance. Now, I'm referring to him by a nickname I just came up with, to see how he reacts to it. He started to bother me from Day 1. I don't know why he targets me. I really hope I don't end up paired with him though. We don't get along well at all." Kim said as he looked over at Ali. The thought of being paired with him made him shake his head a bit. Not happening. "Maybe he'll quit the dueling team when I manage to join!" He said with a smirk. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────

Keith was listening to the older kids talking, they seemed to have known each other since birth. "I hope I make friends like that. Maybe one of the people from the train would talk to me again. Aunty said I better make friends, she said they will be necessary to get through all seven years." One of them answered his question about going to the dorms.
Keith watched some of the other first years get sorted, clapped when one was sorted into Gryffindor and smiled when Hufflepuff got a new badger.
So now he had to wait till the prefects called for the first years, "when would the desserts appear?" he wondered. He was very tired, "I hope it's soon, I just want to sleep and take my shoes off, they are so uncomfortable. Why did we have to wear shoes?" He thought.
Keith looked towards the older kids again and smiled, "I'll be like them one day, having friends, and looking like I'm happy." He noticed an older boy smiling at him, and the older one introduced himself. Keith looked at him, "My name's Keith Moore, nice to meet you!"
Keith looked back up at the ceiling, he would have to ask a professor how or who did that.
