ICly, the game takes place Friday, September 5th, 2022
To clarify, I will be going by the rules lovely Evelynn Decipio first posted as an accident. I like the idea playing a version of spin the bottle that is like Eve's truth or dare rules.
- Each round of spin the bottle Students will (ICly) take turns spinning a bottle to determine the player their bottle spin will land on (determined by me OOCly with randomized rolls)
- Round A: All Players will be assigned someone their bottle landed on. Players will have 1 week to RP their character's action (kiss / hug / any other similar form of affection such as a fist bump / retreat). God modding is NOT allowed. All actions will be made as attempts to allow the recipient the freedom to react.(Of course feel free to owl each other work reactions out. Make sure to clarify this is what you did in your post.)
- Round B: All players will then have 1 week to make a responding post to whoever has landed on them, choosing whether to accept the kiss/hug or to decline. There are no IC consequences for withholding. Students will have one week each round to submit their posts
- Round A and B repeat in this way with a newly randomized assigned target for both rounds
A and B(For people who are playing at normal speed in round B; in one post you would:
1. React to the person who landed on you choosing whether to accept the kiss/hug or to decline
2. Rp your character's action for who them spinning the bottle landed on well as writing something for the person you were assigned to
This is for the sake of giving the fast writer's something to do each week!)
-New players can join the game at any time. Be aware that to join the game you must make an entrance post to the thread and I will see how I can try to include you, depending on the mod round.
-A heads up that this will not only be a game thread but an open thread in general. For those who would like to watch everything go down and be a roaring crowd that is thirsty to watch the drama of spin the bottle unfold(Perhaps even create some of their own drama, who knows?). When you enter the thread please clarify whether or not you will be playing the game. If something changes and you later want to leave the game but stay in the thread, or join the game also be sure to clarify this in your post.
- Failure to post by a round's deadline will result in the assumption that the character froze up and declined to continue. They will be removed from the game(Feel free to still actively participate in the thread!).
- All IC rules still apply and IC consequences are possible depending on the situation(Ic-wise Alec has set up the game, and he will not be monitoring it if things get crazy. He certainly would not be snitching either. That said, you are likely to be caught from a prefect or some authority figure outside of the game, or any prefects on duty while they play)
Site rules and rating will also always apply. All actions/descriptions must comply with them.

A new school year had come about. The opening speech given, the sorting ceremony having had taken place. Classes had begun and there was an overwhelming excitement in the air for the start of a new school year. Talk of the upcoming Hexwizard tournament and the multiple balls hosted that took place almost every year; ones that took place even when the professors tried to make the off-limits. The secret blossom ball had happened for a reason. Children were going to be children, perhaps it was best the children kept their chaos under the watchful eye of multiple professors instead of having to host it in secret. For many the school year seemed to be coming all too fast, not ready to give up the freedoms summer had provided to them just yet.
As such, a flyer would appear on the bulletin board the day after the sorting. It too brought up the start of the school year, though approached it as a point of celebration as opposed to dread. 'New school year, new you' type of situation, an invitation for a gathering to celebrate the start of a new school, an invitation to get to know your fellow peers from seperate houses and different years, the date of it was said to be September 5th. It would advertise itself as something important to help socialize and integrate the first years. Shooting an arrow into the heart of romantics as it spoke of setting to mood and being a possibility of a night to find 'the one', and a rumbling to the stomach of foodies as it spoke of the treats and sweets that were to be available. Taking place just by the Great Lake.
Due to certain restrictions, they would be limited to hours 18:00-20:00 because of curfew. It was a shame truly but it was hard to figure out how one would slide this past professors and prefects.
There would be many a food and drink set out on a surprisingly long table. From cauldron cakes to pumpkin pasties and chocoballs, there were assortments of fresh fruit, and mints(it's right in front of you! It's incredibly simple! Don't choose to be the person with bad breath!) Even a station at the table to make yourself a nice cuppa with various tea bags and additives that lay out to choose from. A tablecloth lay atop of it, reaching the ground, it covered the table suspiciously well. The tablecloth would need to cover the table suspiciously well for hiding under the table was not a mere table at all, but a makeshift table made out of worryingly unsturdy crates. Perhaps this time around the Hogwarts students would be able to act their age and not make an incredible disaster out of this game. Instead of making a disaster, they could simply grab bottled butterbeer in a wooden crate next to the table and hopefully be content.
To the right of the long refreshment table on the grass lay a giant patchwork blanket one could consider the main area. With a breathtaking view looking out onto the lake to set the mood, and soft music coming from a radio that sat near the middle of the large patchwork blanket playing the Weird Sisters latest tracks. Looking above one could see magical candles floating high in the air, lighting up the space as the evening sky slowly darkened.
Various other smaller patchwork blankets filled the space, though the intended use of the space for the evening was spin the bottle, it offered places for people who weren't so fond of the affectionate game. There was plenty of food and drinks to go around, and the smaller blankets were an aim to keep from exclusion of other people. Those who didn't want to join could have just chatted, eating to their heart's content, and of course enjoying the drama happening within the game of spin the bottle. Dare they make their own drama as well?
The Deadline to get posts in for the mod roll is 168 hours from posting time.
Exactly seven days(if you have the website set to your timezone, you should be able to tell.)
If you manage to get a post in after the 168 hours but before my mod post, I will roll for you.
However there are no promises after 168 hours that you will be able to do that.
Don't fret of course, you can always join the thread and play next round!

Rushing out of the castle, out onto the grounds and towards the lake front, Alec multi-tasked tying his hair back as he rushed towards the lake front and to the place where he'd set everything up. Alec's only hope was that the place wasn't in shambles by the time he arrived back. He'd been wearing his school robes and had to rush to his dorm as he wanted to switch into something more casual and comfortable before the game took place. His last experience of spin the bottle had been... well, it had been traumatic to say the least. He hadn't thought it was all that traumatic, thought it had gone about as fine as it could and would go, until he found out he kissed a hag. It explained a lot, quite more than Alec would ever be willing to admit. Alec was sure he had rid himself of had germs, after thoroughly using scourgify to clean out his mouth(which is not recommended), at least twenty-five times. Looking back on it there were probably better way to clear hag germs, at the time it felt like the most effective method. If it had not done the job he didn't know what would.
As it turned out! Kisses feeling gross and weird and uncomfortable like that hag kiss was not normal! Alec would have figured out the whole hag thing much sooner, except nobody bothered to tell him kissing wasn't supposed to be like that! It felt normal because it had also been that way twice before but he realizing that it had been the way because of the situation he had been put in. He had no bad situation this time around. It was just the hag! Alec didn't know that though! Maybe Felix and Aurelia were also just terrible kissers!
Thus Alec had a dilemma. He was... He was supposed to be experienced. He was not at all experienced. Alec didn't know what kissing a person was supposed to be like, if not like the hag kiss. Which was part of the reason as to why he had set this up to begin with, he would of course not be telling people that. If anybody asked they would get the other reason. The other reason was Alec trying to be more sociable this year, he wasn't as shy as he had been and so he would be able to do something like this without having it exceed beyond his comfort zone. He was excited to be able to get to know new people, and not knowing as in kissing that was just kind of weird. Alec wanted more friends to spend time with, he'd been having quite a bit more free time since Starkey joined the broomracing team and had plans that filled his calendar.
This spin the bottle would be hag free and trauma free because as far as he knew that girl was the only hag at Hogwarts. The possibility hag girl would show up was a slim to none. Hopefully this game of spin the bottle would go better this time around.
As Alec finally reached the lake front he would spend his time taking in the scene glancing around with a satisfied hum. Everything was perfect! It looked great. Even without playing spin the bottle the setup would been nice for a calm evening to hang out and get to know new people. Snacks, music, lighting, blankets with a lake view and soon enough a star view as well. Tonight was sure to go off without a hitch.

Ohh I am definitely going! Especially since Kim said it was a success at summer camp, and I missed it! I wonder… is Kim going??? I should send him an owl. I should do that now!B’s outfit!
And with that thought bailey headed up to the owlery to send @Kim Sato an owl. What she was so excited about was a flyer, stating that there would be spin the bottle, song with food, drink and music down by the Great Lake, to celebrate the beginning of term.
Bailey was a sucker for food and drink, and for a good game of spin the bottle. It was one of her favorite muggle games and she was happy to see that her magical friends also knew of it! Kim had mentioned that they had played it at summer camp, and she had been wanting to play every since.

On September 5th, at 5:50 bailey headed down towards the Great Lake. She was dressed in a cute white top, blue skirt and some simple butterfly-and-flower jewelry, paired with some cute white sandals.
As she walked down towards the set up, she spotted a familiar face alongside the spread of food and drinks and music.
“Hey Alec! How are you? How was your summer?” she said with a smile, leaning forwards to give him a hug. Realizing half way through leaning in that she didn’t know Alec super well and wasn’t sure that he wanted a hug, she settled for a light squeeze before leaning back, looking him in the eyes. They were close to the same height, and Bailey smiled at the 4th year, excited for what he had set up.

Harper had heard rumors of some people playing spin the bottle and she wanted to join in the fun. She didn't have many opportunities like this to really get out of her shell. She tended to be more of an introvert and spend most of her time with her nose in books rather than getting out and spending time with fellow witches and wizards. She walked in where a couple of others were already gathered and she looked around. She always liked to get a sense of her surroundings it made her feel more at ease and comfortable.
One thing to note was that she had never actually kissed anyone yet. Was it a good idea to have your first kiss with a random person? Probably not but Harper figured it would be an interesting way to force herself to get out of her shell. After all, she was already a Second Year and she had barely gotten to know anyone other than her Broom Racing team, and the occasional encounter at the library or in class. She really wanted to get to know more people and also grow as a person herself and the only way to do that would be to do things like this and get herself out there.
She quietly waved to everyone and mustered the loudest voice her shy self could. "Hello everyone." It came out as more of a louder voice, not much of an announcement saying hello. She hoped that everyone that was already there had heard her.

When it was time I glanced around the common room looking for my friend Athena, who’s bright blond hair was no where in sight. I left early so I could scope out the event before most people got there. I had no idea what it was or who it was being run by. I headed down and saw it being set up. A tall brunette Gryffindor was putting out snacks and drinks. He was decorating it with roses and such. Roses! What is this! Then I heard some others talking and I heard the words… spin. the. bottle. No. No. No. I can’t do this. Suddenly the organizer put out a large tray of snacks. I noticed they had Chocolate frogs and pumpkin pasty’s. I hung around in the back of the group and then they set out the sign up sheet for the first round and my feet just… uhh sorta took me over and my arm grabbed the quill, wrote my name and instant regret flooded over me. I walked away and opened a fresh Chocolate frog.────────────────────────────────

"Alright, since Athena and Cara are joining this game, I am also going to join spinning the bottle too." Rita thought when she saw two of her best friends joining to spin the bottle at the great lake. She has had a memorable time hugging others during the Twirl the Flagon game at summer camp, and doing this again might be a good idea. Rita has never kissed anyone in Hogwarts, and has never thought of that. "Kissing someone random just sound crazy to me. Anyway, I am expecting to see some drama at this new school year. I can choose my action depend on the person, so that is OK. Anyway, I am joining this game. I am looking forward to see what will happen this time, when we do this again." Rita thought when she walked around the great lake to see what everyone is doing. Since the event had not begun, Rita decided to just grab some snacks and a cup of tea. As she was walking to the big table filled with chocolate frogs and other tasty snacks to fill up her empty stomach since she had not had dinner, she saw Cara sitting somewhere beside the table and opening a chocolate frog. She walked close to Cara and said hi to her, "Hi, Cara! Nice to see you again after the camp! Could I give you a friendly little hug? Hope you don't mind that! By the way, when will Athena come tonight?"

Athena couldn’t wait for a fun game of spin the bottle. Of course she wouldn’t be alone there but her accomplice wouldn’t know that until the night of the game. Honestly she wasn’t very nervous, loosing that shy shell during Camp that summer. She had healed nicely from the fateful summer game, and she was tired of bed rest. So secretly that Cara wouldn’t know she had dragged her into a mess she would have never put herself in. Her secretive side had played in, notes and ‘no talking’.
She skipped onto scene, giving Cara her best ‘this is going to be so amazing and I’m not sorry for dragging you here!’ smile. She grabbed her friends hand and dragged her right up to the signups. Athena McClenin, she wrote with a flourish.
“If you don’t sign your name, I will!” She told Cara jokingly . Scanning the crowd, she found Rita and skipped over, Cara trailing behind.
“Hey Rita! How have you been since camp?” She asked, finally feeling the nerves, she could feel herself going from ‘normal mode’ to ‘hyper mode’. Oh well, not much she could do to calm the nerves now. She was ready to kiss, hug, and do whatever was necessary before, but now that she was here the nerves were eating her up like a gown in a closet. Cara had seen this side of her and seemed to be the only one who could bring her back down to a ‘normal’ level, though normal didn’t seem normal to others. She knew something was going to go down tonight, whether with her or with others, and when Athena got a feeling that something was going to happen, it would happen. Waving to a few other individuals that she recognized.

Could he really have been that out of it because of Rabbit? He looked down at himself, great he was still in his Gryffindor robes. When he went outside to events, he didn't tend to wear his school robes. But then again, Kim couldn't exactly recall how he'd gotten out here in the first place. He hadn't intended on coming to this area but had somehow found himself there anyway. "What's going on, Haley?" Kim asked, hoping she could shed some light. He'd missed Alec's introduction to the game. Sophia had a super power.
No, she wasn't super strong. Or super smart. Or super fast. She couldn't outrun a speeding bullet. She couldn't jump super high. She didn't have a weird ultrasonic hearing power. No, her power was much more mundane.
She had a sort of sixth sense when food was available somewhere.
She didn't know what instinct had led her and Amelia to the Lake, but as the pair of them reached the site with the other students milling about, her attention was immediately captured by the collection of food to the side. She'd been entirely unaware there was a game until arriving, but if it meant she could have free food, she'd gladly sign up for a game of Spin the Bottle.
She'd done it during the summer, after all, so what was the worst that could happen?
...
Well, it was still free food. Totally worth it.
As she began to stuff her face full of anything edible she could get her hands on, she finally noticed Kim walking her way with a girl by his side. The poor boy seemed distracted, and Sophia had to wonder what would possibly bring him to a game of Spin the Bottle. Had he heard she was going to be there? That was sweet of him.
In her excitement, Sophia dropped the mango she'd been munching on and ran quickly toward Kim, ignoring Amelia's indignant chirps.
"Kim!" she shouted happily as she grabbed his arm and snuggled up to his side.
"You wanted to play Spin the Bottle with me?" she asked shyly with a careful amount of hope. She didn't want to seem desperate, but this could be her chance. Her chance to kiss a boy - Kim, of all people! - and prove that she wasn't the sinner she'd been over the summer.
She hugged his arm happily and awaited his reply.

Rita was just sitting on a small comfy blanket, viewing the bright night sky decorated with a big round yellow moon and bright shiny stars while eating some snacks with a cup of tea and some fruits when Athena come to say hi and have a chat with her. She had not seen Athena for some time since the camp, so she was more than happy to see her. She waved back to Athena, "Hi, Athena! Nice to see you again! I am doing well since the camp! How about you? I hope you are well too! Is there anything particularly interesting recently? By the way, I cannot wait to spin the bottle and have some affectionate attraction with someone random at the start of the school year! I am hoping for some drama to happen right at the beginning of this school year! I believe you are also excited, right?" She looked around the great lake to see a bunch of other students also arriving, saying hi to each other, or just enjoying the tasty free food and admiring the beautiful view. She saw some familiar faces, such as Lily and Kim, so she waved to them, "Hello, Lily, Kim, and Sophia! As some of you may know, my name is Rita, Rita Su, a Second-year Hufflepuff. Nice to see you guys! Are you guys excited to join the game of spinning the bottle? I hope you can all have an exciting evening!" After some simple greetings, she continued to sit on the blanket, enjoying the rest of her snacks and having some leisure time by herself before the event officially begins. It was a relaxing night until this point and Rita cannot wait for the event to begin and juice up the night.
