Camp '22 Summer Duelling Funtime Extravaganza, Match: 2

Deciding to be more careful than the previous rounds Milosh went with a bit of self-care in the form of healing. Luckily his spell cast was successful and he felt a soft cooling mist. Frowning quickly after he realized he hadn't got rid of the fire, how pesky. He'd glance over to the rest of the still standing duelists right as another one fell. This time it was the Gryffindor's younger girl. She was very good at getting hit by spells unfortunately but still gave up a good fight.

It was looking favorable for them now but at the same time having two members standing while the other two teams had one put them as a favorable target. He'd grip his wand a bit tighter, they could still fight their way to victory, slowly but surely. Although the duel had just gotten much tougher.

After escorting the fallen Gryffindor off the field he'd procrastinate on what to do next. Sure he was a bit damaged and likely the next to go out, but he could try to turn the tables right? Or should he conserve himself and hope that Ronnie could hit her spells on the two power houses of duelists. Milo had finally broken and let out an irritated sigh. This was going to be hell, and one close game.

Another rounds had gone by and Ronnie was not sure how he unscathed so far. Unlike Milosh who liked to provoke the other opposing players - mainly the older Gryffindor girl -, the Brazilian was more prone to watch in silence and calculate his next move. But sadly in Duelling, you do not have the luxury to ponder over.

When Ronnie becomes a Duellist for his school he knows he needs to be quick on his feet and his wit. At this point, he envies both his brother and Cash who were Quidditch players. Both of them just need a lot of brawls and less brain. Sure both Duelling and Quidditch are team sports but Quidditch looks a bit easier than Duelling.

As Phaedra shows how a great Duellist she is, the older Ravenclaw yet again shows a good spell. This time the older Ravens cast Incendio Duo to both Rose and Milosh. But before Phaedra could sling her spell, "Expelliarmus!,"Ronnie said a bit louder than his previous round when he cast his own spell.

The Portuguese boy raised his wand and pointed at Phaedra. He was sure that his spell would meet his mark but Phaedra was faster than Ronnie could say Expelliarmus. Or perhaps being older has its own perks. Phaedra surely by now knew the incantation and wand movement so that was why she can anticipate Ronnie's attack on her.

"Darn it!,"The Brazilian boy cursed to himself when his spell not only did not graze the older Ravenclaw but missed her as well. And when Phaedra finally cast her own spell, Ronnie was afraid the spell will hit Milosh again but this time it missed him and hit Rose only. And thus, after Aurelia failed to heal her Duelling partner yet again, the redhead Gryffindor was out of the field and the game.

Two down, two to go Ronnie thought to himself. It saddened him to see the young Gryffindor go but at least before she went down, Rose went down with a good fight. Ronnie's blue-grey eyes bounced from Aurelia to Phaedra to Milosh. He got to admit the older Gryffindor and Ravenclaw were tough opponents to beat but at least Milosh still standing beside him.

"Hang in there, mate!"Ronnie said to his Duelling partner when Milosh successfully cast the Healing Spell on himself. "Things are looking up for us,"Ronnie encourages the older Durmstrang boy. "Just a little longer, okay? Have some faith,"The dark-haired boy smiled at Milosh. At this point, Ronnie prayed to whomever high above his aim is true and that his next spell will work.

ROUND 7

When three of the four remaining participants all aimed at the same target, Nessie started to have bad feelings. After all, the duelists who'd been eliminated had gone down once multiple others had targeted them simultaneously. She was starting to worry that she'd have to call for the medical staff again, given how so many duellists seemed to be acting in synchronicity to target another ...

Would Ravenclaw's hopes for the victory end here, with three spells coming Phaedra's way?

In the biggest 'call an ambulance, but not for me' reversal Nessie had seen yet, Phaedra cast a perfect shield charm, protecting her from all three incoming spells. Every duellist who'd had the misfortune to target her had their spell come right back at them.

Milo was hit by his own tickling charm after it reversed direction on the shield. Ronnie's own softening charm bounced back and hit him in the chest, and Nessie winced sympathetically. Aurelia had gotten her wand to cooperate once more and cast a conjunctivitis curse, which rebounded to strike its caster causing her eyes to swell and impairing her vision.

Duelling still seemed quite brutal to the young and inexperienced Nessie, but she was inspired by the impressive defensive magic that she'd just seen. She hoped one day she could do what Phaedra had just done, but she still wondered: after this, what would the duellists do next?

Things are looking up for us, what a joke! If Ronnie was a pessimist type of person perhaps he would think the things he said to Milosh earlier were what jinxed both Milosh and himself. Ronnie at that point was a bit confident that his spell will run smoothly and no spells can hit him but he forgot the fact that Phaedra was a brilliant Duellist.

When you are up against three other players and you were the last one standing to fight for your team, Ronnie probably will do the same thing as Phaedra did. As the next round rolled in, the trio consisting of Aurelia, Milosh and, Ronnie; all from different schools had one target in mind which is pointing their wands at the older Ravenclaw.

At the same time, three different spells were aimed at the Ravenclaw' Prefect. Aurelia with her Conjunctivitis Curse, Milosh with his Tickling Charm, and your very own Castelobruxo Duellist with his Softening Charm. At the heated moment and the need to take down both Aurelia and Phaedra, Ronnie forgot that Spongify is an attack spell.

Ronnie nodded to Milosh when both of their time to attack the Headliner Editor. And when Milosh nodded his head back, with the correct incantation and wand movement he cast the Softening Charm. "Spongify!"The half-whispered as he did his spellcasting. He successfully cast the spell but then something hit his chest.

"Ow!"Ronnie let out a wince and softly touch the area that is hit. And oh wait! his chest was not as firm as it should be. Now it is kind of in a jelly-like state. Did- did his own spell rebound back to him? With the state he was in, he got his answer without the need to ask his partner. It seems Ronnie was not the only one that got the end of his own spell.

Aurelia and Milosh also share the same fate as he did. Phaedra yet again cast a beautiful and perfect Shielding Charm. As Ronnie looked around he subtly winced out when he saw the state of Aurelia's eyes that now are swollen and obstructing her line of vision. "That looks gotta hurt,"Ronnie whispered to Milosh.

"You okay, mate?."Ronnie inquired Milosh whose own spell rebound to him. Milosh did not look so good and was almost on the brink of his death at the end of his fight. And if Milosh was dragged out from the piste, Ronnie did not know if he can take both Aurelia and Phaedra alone. He needs to think smart and hopefully, Milosh can aid him until the end of the last round.

He hated that Phaedra's Spell Spread is so powerful and Aurelia's sleek as an eel. Ronnie prided himself to be a smart almost borderline genius person but he was never up against Duellist which is so hard to take down up until this point. "Good thing you cast Rictumsepra not some Flipendo or Incendio or something,"Ronnie expressed still seeing the positive side of their misfortune.

"Are we gonna do what we discussed earlier then?,"He enquires the older Durmstrang while glancing at both Aurelia and Phaedra. "It is now or never, mate and I need you to help me,"He stated. "Desperate call for a desperate measure for a desperate spell, you know what I mean"Ronnie grinned cheekily and wink playfully at Milosh.

The blue-grey-eyed boy was not the type of person that was afraid to seek help when he needed but with the spell he had in his mind, can both Milosh and himself win the whole duel? Only time will tell.

Milo felt confident for this round, him and Ronnie amde a silent, agreeable plan that there was very little chance it could backfire.

Well guess what, it did. Sure if the spells missed it wouldve been unfortunate but as soon as he saw the Ravenclaw girl's wnad draw the sign for Protego and the shield go up he damn near turned into a sailor.

Having little to no tike to react his spell did a u-turn and blasted him in the gut causing the boy to double over in pain. That would leave a mark for sure. The rounds were drawing closer and closer to the end but so was he. Taking a second to catch his breath with his hands still wrapped around his torso in defense, he'd close his eyes.

Opening them he saw Ronnie had indeed been unable to avoid the Protego's effects as well. Well shit this couldn't have gone any worse. Ravenswood was closing the gap and managed to get a hit on every standing player this round. She did have brains, he had to give her that. Or maybe just sheer luck.

Righting himself up, a weak smile escaped him at Ronnie's comment. A Flipendo or Incendio would have definitly been worse. But now that they were put in a troubled position they had to think two steps ahead and stay light on their feet.

Furrowing his brows for a moment he raced through potential options in his mind. Was it time to be risky? Would it pay off in the end? Or should they stay defensive and keep what little lead they had. Nodding Milo cane to a decision.

If there was one upside to being targeted, it was its ample opportunity to perfect defensive magic. Phaedra cast another shield charm just as brilliant as the first, combating the urge to flinch mid-incantation at the sight of three spells flinging her way. The trio of curses converged at one point and rebounded, a punishing blow for having been so predictable. The boys’ resulting states were of little note, but Aurelia’s facial swelling earned a repulsed, yet morbidly intrigued stare. Perhaps this could be used to her team’s advantage…

ROUND 8

Nessie held her breath as more fire was cast, this time by Phaedra at half of the remaining duellists. The young Hufflepuff was genuinely wondering if the duel would end in flames, given how much fire had been cast already in the duel, and especially because of how two of the duellists had been eliminated already.

But an ending like that was a fate that would be avoided by the remaining duelists, at least for now.

Phaedra's flames towards Milosh strayed away from their target, leaving the guest team free to perfectly execute their coordinated move. Nessie watched as Milosh competently healed Verona, who created a smokescreen that would obscure the vision of all the remaining duelists.

But Aurelia was not so lucky, and was hit by the remaining part of Phaedra's Incendio Duo. Nessie watched extra carefully - as much as she wanted to look away from the unfortunate event befalling the Gryffindor - just in case Aurelia was in danger. And yet, despite the fire, Aurelia was tough and would remain in the duel for now.

Nessie wondered how she was going to keep an eye on the proceedings with the smokescreen, and resolved to ask the more experienced captains for tips once the duel was over. For now, she'd just have to do her best.
